actually you know the soundtrack right. the thing with all the songs and the names of all the songs. can someone explain to me why the last song on the soundtrack, the one that plays when we finally learn deva's true identity. why is that song called salaar the shourayanga. is it because. because [i get shot off screen]

I think it's sooo interesting that in the tegulu version (and other versions too I'm pretty sure) varadha makes a claim to deva right at the beginning saying "my salaar" but never makes this claim right to his face. I'm currently listening to the soundtrack and I think it's so interesting how many times deva is claimed in the titles with songs named "salaar devarata raisaar" putting varadhas name for deva before his given one and "varadhas one man army" again calling deva his so we get this sense that varadha does think of deva as his or at least as a part of him but is too afraid of saying that directly to deva (afraid of rejection? afraid of what deva will do with an explicit claim?)

but at least in the malayalam version deva loudly and without problem says that varadha is his. in every version of the story he repeats over and over that varadha should not be touched by anyone other than him and even without the words it's just as explicit as a claim.

not sure where I'm going with this its just so interesting to me the ways their dynamic plays out. it's so fantastically layered that you have to think about so many different things before you can be fully insane about it

Here are my thoughts on the Diwali track. It worked perfectly until Tara appeared in the purple outfit. So you see until that point the feelz were hitting 1000% while the characters were in character.

Tara knows she's attracted to Mr. Malik and had developed a softness for him post freezer. Deva is desperately trying to hide his identity but he has started developing deeply for grown up Tara.

Farvari is such a delightful addition that she's the perfect push for these two characters to come closer (and Raunak is a great tension to the plot). Ananya standing up to her mother was amazing as well.

And DevRa were absolutely gorgeous in the scene where Deva enters Tara's room and just softens looking at her baby pictures and his discomfort with the Diwali Kurta is AMAZING.

I don't know how Vishal portrayed it but his face had the hesitation househelps often have in wearing gifted clothes.

Tara assisting Deva was absolutely adorable because Tara is subtly flirting with him - gorgeous.

Things, for me, start losing a bit of cohesive plot and consistency from the purple outfit onwards. You see, despite the growth between Devra I don't see him straight out complimenting her outfit. Nor do I see then dancing to 'what jhumka', also Deva tried so hard to hide his identity by calling Farvari for help so immediately getting ready to reveal also doesn't make sense. The tandav was OTT and just didn't make sense. The CGI for Arjun's helicopter just looks bad. The reason why Tara did not hear/listen to Deva made no sense. AND WHY CAN'T DEVA ENTER THE HOSPITAL IS BEYOND ME!

BUT a lot of things do work separately - I love how Tara pushes Mr. Malik to fix his argument between him and Farvari, LOVED his breakdown in the hospital, LOVED how he bared his heart to Tara, LOVED how he shattered his conscience in his home because the betrayal felt beautiful. He bonded with adult Tara on the basis that she too appeared just as alone, but to see that he was replaced overnight - rationality didn't matter - it just killed him. And we need his rationality to dim daily for him to ultimately pull what he did.
