I don't know about you, but I didn't love the Jon and Arya reunion in the show. I liked it when he picked her up to hug her, but it was just as bad as the rest of the season. Hell D&D even managed to make their reunion about Sansa. No other sibling was mentioned. It was the reunion people have waited for and it was disappointing. Hopefully (if GRRM publishes the book) their reunion will be much better.

I think it was cute, but I agree that it was just nowhere near where it needed to be for how important and relevant Jon and Arya's relationship is to the story. I knew we weren't getting anything satisfying when Jon's reaction to Arya returning was just "She's alive 😐". D&D didn't even care about Arya and Jon separately though, so it's not surprising they didn't care about getting their relationship right. It's kind of insulting that they acknowledge how important they were to each other in the director's commentary but still chose to diminish their relationship. It's just another thing D&D sacrificed in order to prop up their vision of what the story should be. The show ending would've been impossible if they were actually using the book characterizations. George has been steadily developing their relationship since the first book and we have Jon breaking his vows for Arya in the latest one...their reunion is sure to be one of the most heartfelt moments in the books.

So I had an angsty idea. Imagine the Tsaritsa falling in love with god!reader who is so warm and loving and so completely human. But as they gain more followers, their inner divinity starts taking them over and their attitude becomes more godlike, more absolute, more unknowable; almost like their humanity is being forcibly removed by a higher power to better match who they really are. And the Tsaritsa has to watch as the person she loved and who loved her in return slowly becomes someone else.

Still, we always have two types of readers: A reader that acts like a human, like one of us. And a reader that acts like a god, how they should act (think of Myuni's works. Most of her works that I've seen have a very god-like reader in them)

And obviously there has to be some point where reader goes from point A to point B, at least that's what I've always thought.

And then the effect that would have on the acolytes!!! I've always thought that the acolytes would be completely fine with this change., especially the archons. I mean, you're acting like the god you are! Why wouldn't they be thrilled!

But I think this fits the Tsaritsa so well!! Because she's so disconnected with Celestia and the divinity above her. She's downright hostile towards them. Then you come into the picture and she's unreasonably smitten with your undeniably human attitude.

You approach her with a nervous grin, and you're so happy to meet her. It's contagious and she becomes happier each and everyday to see you. She loves you and the feeling of being near you each and every day. You're so human and so entranced with everything this world has to offer. Every little thing she does for you seems to mean the world to you, and it makes her dead heart swell.

But things change over years and so do you. Little things that excite you become irrelevant. Smiles don't grace your face with every little thing. Still, when you see her, even with your other-worldly aura, the fact that you are above everyone in every sense, you smile. Even if it's not as warm and doesn't feel as nice, she'll stay devoted to you and never let her feelings slip.

Even if for the next few centuries she felt unloved under your thumb, cold, ruthless, and uncaring, she wouldn't struggle. Fighting for a scrap of the warmth she once knew from your pitch black eyes. Stars were cold as snowflakes, she never basked in the sun anymore, only the cold tundra of Snezhnaya under your cold gaze.
