one of the nice things about writing for me is that there's really only a few headcanon type things i'm seriously attached to and will write every time so for the most part i just have fun exploring different possibilities and angles over and over. for my diavolo thing since it's entirely non-canon (due to his stupid limited backstory plus knowing nothing about what he did in the 90s other than fight polnareff and kill the sorgelas/sorlatos...tho isn't the timeline weird for the latter. anyway) it's all about this freedom with only the constraints of "is this interesting" and "is this reasonable" (and, being a diavolohead also "does this make him understandable without simply making him a victim" bc like why would i want to just turn him into a different person). personally, i find writing like that hard...i like boundaries and limitations. i like trying to make something interesting about specific scenarios. so it's a challenge. it's a pretty nice one though. i feel satisfied so far.

Forever mourning how Sancha and Gioffre were completely cut from the plot after Season 1 of The Borgias
#the borgias#period drama#like i get how the brotherly conflict between cesare and juan already filled that void#but could you imagine if gioffre was still in the mix??#he's the child that rodrigo questioned the paternity of bc he thought he was weak#yet he also outlived everyone aside from lucrezia#sancha also had the potential to be such a complex character#especially in relation to lucrezia (who she was friends with irl)#when that naples plot started ramping up in season 3 they would've been godsent#also we could've gotten more insight about juan through her??#but alas no

Every now and again i try and research how Passione would work and it gives me a headache...

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm still bouncing around multiple things very slowly (like a couple of the journey sketches which turned into mini comics)
but currently I'm in the grips of reading a 300 page academic book on doctors and medicine of the renaissance because of the L4D/AC crossover I wanna write and I'm got a little too into making the doctor character.
#massaging was apparently banned by the church#bunch of doctors started questioning previous shit#one guy started drawing illustrations for his books on medicinal knowledge which was unheard at the time somehow#Another started lumping symptoms together in order to find the root cause of illnesses and try to cure rather than just treat#brutal one was another different dude calling into question the effectiveness of a method of using a type of stone to cure ALL poisonings#so he convinced someone who was on death row to test this and if the guy lived he would be set free#anyway that guy died a several hours long painful death.. 🙃#history is fucking nuts man#and all this research for fanfic#next is going to be history of a nature park area near the port of Naples#hello void i have words
