it really is a bummer when you see another translation of a work you've enjoyed translated to your language -- as a kid or recently -- and all the stuff that was translated/localized in your language is... kept as it was (usually in english) in that other translation

Adding my translation of 《迢迢共此生》tiao tiao gong ci sheng. The title means something like ‘staying together for the rest of our lives’. 

This is the new tgcf manhua anniversary song released on 16.10.20.

(3) Nameless stranger is a reference to when Hua Cheng was Wu Ming and Xie Lian was masked; they didn’t know each other

(4) The Chinese phrase used here implies that Hua Cheng will venture/explore the world with Xie Lian and the tone implies the speaker is very bold and unafraid, like Huacheng’s character. One could also interpret it to mean that Huacheng would travel with Xielian and get rid of obstacles so his path is smoother and easier

(5) 'Unforgettable love for a flower’ is a pun on the ship name ‘hualian’. It can be interpreted as “pitiful flower”, “tender affection for the flower” or “pity the flower”

I am obsessed with this song so of course I had to pore over every lyric and every word to revolve it in my head enough times to try to understand the meaning of every line. Just sharing it with others because I want everyone to love this song as much as I do (which is frankly kinda impossible because like I said... I am obsessed).

I also want to say that while I'm mostly confident with this translation, some of the lines might be really off because I wasn't quite sure what was tried to be said. I spent way too long on the first line of the chorus and this is the best I could interpret it, so really sorry if there are any mistakes!

When I first looked up translations of surround, it mostly seemed like a happy song but when I translated the chorus word by word... Suddenly it made sense that the song I absolutely fall for would end up having sad connotations lmao. This happens every time.
