By K-pop companies here, I mean the big 4's- SM, HYBE, YG and JYP. The cards tell me that they see International KPOP fans as someone who is like a golden key to them. I am getting mixed energies here where they do respect them but they also see them as easily gullible. They view them as a mixture of strategic planning (???)The companies are very cautious while approaching them. The companies know that they are of high value to them but sometimes the international fans can be a pain in their a$$es. For example, pushing the companies for their idol's benefits, starting a movement, etc. There are also trust issues when it comes to I-fans because the companies think that they have Western artists and they are not reliable.

The companies see the I-fans as somehow mysterious too like there is something they can't control or grasp about. They also want to or already take advantage of the emotions the fans have for their idols. They are sure about something that I-fans are not the same as Korean fans. The fans look through the companies and they don't believe in their bull$hits. The companies are also confident that the I-fans are a crucial part of their growth and a lot of especially financial growth depends on them. The companies want to carefully approach international fans.

Additional TMI- They are aware of the fans who either want to marry their favorite idol or want to have a romantic relationship with them and will go to any extent to fulfill their wishes. They deliberately push the parasocial relationships between idols and their fans.

-is NOT a kpop fan

-thinks the music is corny and has no real meaning

-will definitely judge you if you tell him you like kpop

-would also provably have something racist and/or homophobic to say (something something they all look like girls)

-despite his disdain for the actual music, he thinks the music videos and culture behind it are interesting (photocards, lightsticks, music shows, etc.)

-would make fun of the parasocial aspect of it all (“why would you defend somebody you know nothing about?”)

-would probably read up about sasaengs and be mesmerized by how crazy they are compared to american stalkers (“this girl wrote a letter to this guy with her own menstrual blood…now that’s dedication”)

-doesn’t like any particular groups but I think he would enjoy watching older kpop mvs from the late 2000s/early 2010s and laughing about how cringey they are

wilson:

-tbh he doesn’t really have an opinion on kpop

-he’s not a fan of the music; he thinks it’s kind of strange but hey, whatever you like is fine with him

-house would probably show it to him and he would be so very confused

-“why do they have so many layers on? do you know how hot they are dancing under all those lights?”

-would definitely be concerned about their well-being (“they train like that? how the hell are they still alive?!”)

-would probably enjoy older korean ballads more; think kbs song festival type stuff

-surprisingly really likes it!

-loves how colorful and fun the music is

-gawks over the outfits and whatnot too; she also thinks it’s something fresh and different to look at compared to western fashion (“it’s all just so…different!”)

-doesn’t care for boy groups but loves her some girl power

-they make her feel empowered and strong

-I can see her listening to groups like aoa, miss a, and wonder girls; really just classy, sexy girl groups

cameron:

-who are we even kidding she fucking loves kpop

-she’s the one that got everyone else to watch music videos and such at princeton plainsboro; truly an og fan

-likes kpop because its girly and fun but she also loves being a part of a fandom; it’s something fun for her to enjoy outside of work

-definitely a shinee ult…they’re just so classic boyband coded (her bias is onew)

-loves bubblegum girl groups, specifically twice and girl’s generation (those sm vocals have her in a chokehold I fear)

-totally collects photocards and has at least one lightstick; completely indulges in all aspects of kpop fan culture

-has definitely shed tears because of her faves (me too girl me too)

-brags that she saw bts hit it big

chase:

-completely clueless and has no idea why cameron likes kpop so much

-he simply does not understand the hype

-cameron definitely shows him videos and he’s just like…”who are these people and why do you like them”

-is more confused about fan culture than the music itself (“why do you collect little photos of men? why are you paying $30 for a CD?”)

-teases cameron about it because he thinks it’s funny but really doesn’t give a fuck

-he thinks fellow aussies in kpop are hysterical (bang chan, felix, jake)

-he’s like…what are you doing here…

-would probably say some corny shit like “I thought this was kpop not apop!!”

foreman:

-is NOT a kpop enjoyer…might be a hater in fact

-doesn’t like how the idols are treated nor how they act on camera

-he thinks the genre consists of some phony love songs that don’t mean anything (even when cameron tries to show him that’s not true)

-thinks the outfits and dancing is silly (but secretly thinks the dancing is kinda cool)

-is just Not a Fan

taub:

-wanted to include the later fellows in this hc but honestly I can’t think of anything unique to say about taub’s opinion on kpop

-he just doesn’t like it

-is more like chase in the fact that he doesn’t understand *why* people like it, unlike foreman who hates it entirely

-would be willing to give it a listen but he’d think it was mid

thirteen:

-actually finds it really interesting

-I can see her liking more hard-hitting boy groups (stray kids, ateez, xdinary heroes)

-I feel like the “noise music” side of kpop would scratch her brain in a way, plus it’s something different from what you normally hear on the radio

-also likes groups with weird concepts (vixx, dreamcatcher)

-stray kids ult; collects albums but not photocards

-would definitely run some kind of a fanmade merch shop on etsy

kutner:

-oh he loves kpop

-doesn’t partake in the fan culture but he definitely streams and stuff

-he thinks it’s really fun and colorful, interesting to look at plus it hypes him up

-likes colorful groups (red velvet, txt, itzy, twice)

-doesn’t have an ult group, just listens to what he likes

-kutner is a simple man: kpop happy he’s happy

-he just jams tf out while he’s gaming…I know it

amber:

-does not like kpop at all

-thinks it’s childish and silly

Hello everyone, I know that I haven't been active much lately and I do sincerely apologize for that, but that is not really the purpose of this post.

Before I continue I do want to put a warning here as it is an incredibly serious topic that I will mention, I want to mention it here because of the fact that in Korea it's not getting much coverage and this platform is probably the one I have the most attention on.

As most of you are aware there has been telegram and other messaging groups that have been leaked about the use of AI generated deepfakes involving the nudity and sexualization of women in Korea and this isn't just Kpop idols, it's female family members, teachers, students (from elementary to university) and female soldiers.

As of today from what I know, JYPE have issued out a statement on Twice's account on FANS about how they are going to take action about these images being generated. Which is shown in the picture bellow.

Please help spread the word if you can, this can be by any means necessary. There are stronger sources out there who will explain this situation a lot more but I still want to put my word in here.

Once again I deeply apologize for not posting my usual content but I feel the need to help raise awareness about this issue.
