Been thinking about Arcane and good parents v loving parents. Parents who care so so deeply but are toxic and poisonous.

Silco loves his daughter but he put a gun in her hand. He would give his life for that girl but he wouldn’t heal for her. He would burn the world to the ground but he wouldn’t plant a tree.

Vander seems cold and uncaring but he fights for those kids until his dying breath. He’s gruff and mean, he takes his kids things and he punishes them but he shows them what it means to live the way they do, what it means to be angry and to see where that anger goes.

Ambessa Medarda loves her daughter but she is a warlord, a conqueror. If her daughter fails to fit the mold then she will be conquered too. She will chisel away at the marble of her children and when the cracks become visible she will toss them out, and when golden tears bleed through the chips in the stone she will cry out “I did it for you!” And yet they are empty words. The golden sunburst of her daughter will wilt in her shadow.

Cassandra kiramman is so cold and venomous and like a disease to everything her daughter loves, but she also gets them a meeting with the council. She spreads her vulture wings over her daughter, clouding the sun, drowning her, and still dutifully feeds her when she asks oh so nicely, when she can no longer deny her.

Ximena Talis is both loving and good because she does what she needs to keep her son safe and by god does she love him. She will make the sacrifices and make the choices and make sure her son can live the life that he almost lost.

Singed is like Viktor’s father, but Viktor will be crushed underfoot if he cannot make sacrifices, love and legacy. He will tear his own body to shreds and he will look into that scarred face and he will feel his body destroy him.

And of course, there are Jinx and VI’s birth parents. We know nothing about them, not their names, who they were, whether they were cold or warm or caring or cruel. What we know is that they were on that bridge. What we know is that they wanted better.

Parenthood will rip you to shreds if you cannot handle it. It will riddle you with bullets and it will cry over your corpse are you willing to lose them, are they willing to lose you?

Is there anything so undoing as a daughter?

To whoever said Jinx was mocking Vi and jinxing her fights, you have three minutes before you start coughing.

She literally cries while looking at her from the distance.

She’s realizing Vi wasn’t the girl she idolized; she was just a kid that lost it all as well.

After all, that’s her sister. Nothing is ever going to change that.

So, she will keep betting on her, no matter how many times she sees her break. She now knows Vi will get up sooner or later.

And if she can’t, Jinx will step up and save her. It’s what she learned from her.

I have a head canon that the reason Vi was so pissed at Sevika specifically after she betrayed Vander is because Sevika was one of the main maternal role models in Vi’s life after her mom died.

I think too that she taught Vi boxing/fighting alongside Vander, like the line “still haven’t learned patience” feels like a much more personal jab rather than just some throw away taunt.

Sevika also for sure fills a maternal role for Jinx no matter how fucked up it is but yk.

I think maybe that’s why Sevika seemingly dislikes the sisters so much because she’s been forced into this role for them.

I hope that in season 2, since we know Sevika is probably gonna be somewhat amicable with Jinx, her & Vi might find some sorta peace — maybe she even helps her stop drinking & stuff alongside Jinx, would be sick too if we got to see some sorta sparing scene between them we’re Sevika fills that mentor role for her.

the way the ppl whom we love can cut us the most.

after all the love and protection vi sought to provide powder with, a colossal mistake borne of grief and shock and she says, “you’re a jinx, do you hear me?”

after all the former years of idolizing vi then thinking she was dead for so many years, powder’s mental illness running rampant and further fuelled by being in the company of silco and his own insecurities. she thinks being jinx and going by jinx is reclaiming a former insult and turning it into her strength. but to vi, it’s the biggest mistake of her life, calling her baby sister something so hurtful. so i wonder how it feels to hear powder/jinx say, “but he didn’t make jinx. you did.”

and with everything that has been done to one another from each other, the words said to one another, well:

“are we still sisters?”

and isn’t that the most tragic part because there was never a moment where they didn’t love each other. they both said that the thought of the other sister is what kept them alive, kept them going through their darkest days—it was that LOVE that had been there and always there.

but now, they find themselves at the mercy of the other in the new season and all i can hope is that they still feel and can unearth that love.

i just cannot fathom that it’s completely died. maybe they can’t recognize one another after years of estrangement and after finding themselves on opposing sides.

vi doesn’t recognize the manic and chaotic terrorist jinx has become and jinx cannot recognize the sister who is chummy with enforcers and has priorities outside of herself (i am not condoning her perspective or mindset but it was adopted through years of being w silco).

even then, it was vi who said it herself:

So what are my thoughts for Arcane season 2? Well from what I've seen in the trailer, I think almost every character in the series is going to go through a massive shift, starting with caitlyn in the first season caitlyn was calculating smart not rash (okay not rash enough to wage full on war, but rash enough to let a criminal out of prison) she was new to the scene but she knew that she didn't want war with the undercity, but now in a fit of blind revenge she's going to war anyway

And by the looks of it Vi's right along side her she's given up on Jinx its even the first lines of the trailer, she starts out fighting along side the enforcers, along side caitlyn, but we see her off on her own broken, this most likely because she's finally seen just how far caitlyns taking things.

However the biggest change of this season is going to be Jinx, in the first season Jinx was crazy, but things are about to take a turn i mean sure on the surface we see her bombing the city leading a revolution piloting an airship while looking deranged but looking deeper does she really look completely insane.

Personally i think she looks kinda sad, i mean sure they show her looking completely done with it all ready to blow the world that's wronged her apart, but there's something deeper I think we're going to start the season with Jinx truly regretting what she's done, she's going to panic as the floor gives away beneath her and that will be her tipping point the point where there's s small possibly of her being reached, but there's no one left to reach her no one left willing to try, caitlyn wants her dead, Vi has given up on her, Silco is dead her hand, she's alone, alone except for sevika who will most likely use her to rule the undercity Jinx will be forced back into believing what she's doing is right

Until eventually she's going to snap, she's going to see that she has nobody and she'll be exactly who they think she is and she'll be more broken than ever.

But never mind all that the real thing that i think the arcane trailer is showing or more accurately hiding is the enemy. Okay hear me out we all know that season 2 just like season 1 will be releasing in three separate arcs each obviously show casing a separate story of the same season, now while Netflix has released three separate posters for said arcs they seem to have only given us one trailer, now if you look the trailer like that you can see the story breaks of the arcs, in the first part they show a clear enemy jinx, Vi and Cait are trying to take her down, the second the people of the undercity as they rise up but near the end there's nothing each shot fired each punch thrown even jinx threatening to burn it all down unlike the beginning of the trailer we aren't shown the enemy, this concerns me because who are they fighting, am I reading into this is it still Jinx that's the enemy or is caitlyn and Vi fighting each other or and what is most likely is there a new enemy something so feared that it actually makes them all fight together in some strange twisted way and if so what, i mean im actually clueless I've never played the game or gotten into anything else part of this universe so i have no idea what they could be up against.

This is my first request too, and I am SO HAPPY!! I've wanted to write about this for a long time, but it was difficult for me. Believe me, I broke my head typing all this.

Jinx lacked tenderness and care in her life.

Vi showed her support and love in Jinx's childhood; Silco did the same thing later... it's still not enough.

When Jinx lost Silko and her sister, who had just come back into her life, she was on the verge of death. Not a day went by without her crying, hysterics, and self-harming. It was horrible, painful, and pathetic.

She also took on a mountain of responsibility for which she was never prepared.

And then you appeared. So serious, responsible, and ready for anything. You came to her office and did all the dirty work.

And also very understanding, kind, and patient.

Having witnessed her breakdown, you were absolutely calm. You did not run away, stayed close and pulled her back together.

Even after Jinx's numerous outbursts at you, even after the hard work and all that crap, you stayed. By her side, with her curse.

You reminded her of Vi with your kindness and Silko with your devotion. All the best in one person.

How could she not become attached to you?

You are the center of her life, the main object of her attention.

It was becoming physically painful for Jinx to be away from you for longer than 8 hours.

Whenever you worked, she always found a reason to be there, justifying it with help or a simple check on the quality of work.
