Draw Your OTP Challenge - Complete!
Tumblr media
It's been 1 year 7 months and 19 days since I started streaming Rune Factory every Wednesday. With it, has come a plethora of new perspectives of the series and its characters.
Learning how to draw has been a "one day" dream of mine that I decided to turn into a reality in 2025. While I feel so far from finding my "style" I wanted to capture my starting point to look back at in the future.
Here's to the start of putting my silly little ideas on paper!
Prompt list below the cut!

I Need You Darlin' (So Come Go With Me)
By @beatlessideblog
Link
Summary
John Lennon is no-one's idea of a proper omega. Paul McCartney is a complication. Set 1956-1958.
Why I like this fic
This is as close to married mclennon (without homophobia thank God ) as we can get in this fandom and let me tell you there aren't many officially "married" mclennon fics out there . The way this universe's John and Paul show affection through subtle actions is so great . The way paul always looks out for John ,always being one step ahead in knowing what John needs before he even realises he needs it is ARGH PEAK married mclennon behaviour I say. Both of them being each other's comfort bear is an added bonus too . Honestly the entire series (with all of it's 10 parts ) is a treasure trove of great mclennon fics , I highly recommend it !

replaying bits of your life is fucking me up emotionally all over again because like. when and how did all of these people find out that peter was dead. chelsea. dorothy. JIM. IVAN. HIS FUCKING PARENTS. SIDNEY. especially the fact that none of the alternate paths are officially canon and as far as we know peter never actually reconciled with his brother. they just never saw each other again after the wedding and then they were suddenly out of time. wtf.
ivan is especially interesting to me especially because of him and disrupt. was he always working so closely with them with the aim of holding on to his wealth and his power? or did peter’s death drive him further towards it? it’s interesting because peter was clearly so staunchly against the kind of elites that ivan was a part of, but obviously their friendship was forged decades before any of that when they were in the war. and ivan supported the sanctions and the moves against advance but never seemingly had any ill will towards peter at all, and vice versa. obviously peter didn’t support the nukes, but he never seemed to resent or outright hate ivan the way he did others like him. i also desperately want to know what ivan and julia thought of each other, whether they saw much of each other after boyl and crucially whether ivan ever found out what actually happened to peter. i wonder if peter was the thing stopping ivan from fully throwing his lot in with disrupt - a respect for him, a bond that he could never betray. and then maybe after his death, ivan saw no reason to hold back anymore. the one person stopping him was gone, and so was his country, and that wealth and power was all he had left. plus if he ever actually found out that julia and advance were behind the death of his oldest friend…maybe to him it was some sort of revenge.
does any of this make sense? idk. but ivan is a super interesting character to me beyond the stereotype he kinda falls into and i suddenly need to put him under a microscope

౨ৎ ₊˚⊹ too dangerous to love
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: soldier boy x gn!reader
summary: for the first time in his life, soldier boy is afraid of hurting someone, you
cw: angst.ᐟ soft loverboy!soldier boy.ᐟ mention of torture.ᐟ death.ᐟ drug intake [compound v].ᐟ cussing.ᐟ
word count: 862
julia yaps: what happens when julia watches the boys season three for the sixth time? drabbles like this. you’re welcome <3
────────── ☢️ ──────────
after soldier boy endured forty torturous years of captivity, torment and experimentation by the ivan’s, he developed the ability to generate radiation at will. the type of radiation that’s lethal even to the strongest of supes.
but falling in love with a fragile human being seemed more agonising than anything he has ever experienced in the past hundred-and-five years of his life.
he loved you, there was no denying that. like in a head over heels type of way. therefore he decided that the safest option for you is that he left, to let you go and have a normal relationship with someone that won’t disintegrate you into dust by accident.
“no, that’s a ridiculous idea” you shook your head.
“sweetheart i don’t want to hurt you on accident” ben explained, his deep voice soft as he spoke to you.
“and you won’t” you cup his cheeks with your small hands, your touch gentle which always made his heart melt, your thumbs gently caressing his freshly trimmed beard. “ben please..” you look into his green eyes.
“you can’t be sure of that, did you see what i did to those people?” layers of fear and doubt in his voice, rarely did anyone get to see his vulnerable side, but you weren’t just anyone. ben didn’t seem to have a problem being open with you despite his big macho man reputation.
“that was an accident babe.. you were triggered” you explained, hoping you’ll get to him.
“and who says that one day i won’t do it again near you? i can’t let anything happen to you..” ben’s eyes not leaving yours. his brows slightly frowned. “that’s why i need you to stay away from me..”
“please don’t do this ben..” your voice shaky, pleading him, your eyes watering at the thought of him leaving you.
“i have to darling.. it’s for the better.. you’ll be safer that way” his raspy voice impossibly soft as he tried to explain his point of view to you in the calmest possible manner.
“and what if i don’t want to be safe? what if i just want to be with you, safe or not safe, i don’t care… you’re not leaving me” you tried to keep your cool but the thought of him leaving sank deeper and deeper inside of you, making your hands shake.
ben doesn’t fail to notice your distress and the tears forming in your eyes, he takes your hands in his big calloused ones, yours looking so tiny in ben’s, his thumbs stroking the top of your hand in an attempt to calm you down.
“darlin i can’t put you in harms way, you mean too much to me” his tone almost pleading.
“then i’ll take compound v as a safety net” you blurted out the idea in desperation, you’ve thought about it before but you never mentioned it to anyone until now.
his brows frowned not liking the idea at all, “no, absolutely not” he shook his head. “it’s too dangerous, you’re not risking it”
“but that way i have insurance”
“there is a fifty-fifty chance that the stuff will actually work, you really want to risk dying over some superpower?” he didn’t understand how you could even think about it. how can your life mean so little to you that you easily want to gamble with it.
“no ben, i’d risk doing that for you” you look him dead serious in the eyes as you speak. for the first time in his entire life, he believed he isn’t worth that kind of price.
you can physically see he isn’t on board with your offer, “and i’m not just saying this because i am hysterical or because i’m crying..” you started explaining, knowing this is probably what he thought.
“i actually mean it. i thought about it for a long while now… and i.. even thought of doing it behind your back” you confessed, slightly afraid of his reaction so you don’t give him time to react and you continue to explain yourself.
“but i’d rather have you by my side while doing it, while it hurts until it doesn’t..” your eyes soften into a pleading look, the pure desperation in your voice tugged on his heartstrings.
ben sighs “you know that stuff won’t save you , i can fry that out of your blood like i did to your uh.. asian friend”
“first of all her name is kimiko and secondly, you would not kill me and that would be the safety net” you try to convince him.
“just think about..? really think about it.. please ben..” you beg.
he lowers his head letting out a sigh, his hands rubbing his temples, his thoughts rushing. “fuck…”
there is a long moment of silence between the two of you before he decided to speak up. “i need to think about it, okay?” his emerald green eyes softly looking into yours, his hand reaching up to brush a stray strand of hair behind your ear. his touch so delicate as if he was scared he’ll hurt you.
you nod slowly, knowing that convincing him won’t be easy, but it’s better than losing him.

Quotes from “John & Paul: A Love Story In Songs”
CHAPTER 1: COME GO WITH ME
“They met on a hot day in July 1957 — twelve years after the war, ten years before Sgt. Pepper — amid the homespun pageantry of a suburban English garden party. [...] At around 4 p.m., [Paul] and Ivan arrived at St. Peter’s Church. [...] The noise of Lennon’s group was billowing through humid air from the field next to the church. Paul sweated in his white sports coat and tight black trousers.
He had seen John around, on the bus, in the chip shop, and he was already fascinated by him.”
“John Lennon was not someone you wanted to be seen paying attention to until you were ready for it to be returned. He carried a reputation for verbal and physical combat and was usually surrounded by a schoolboy entourage.
Now, as Paul and Ivan approached the makeshift stage, Paul McCartney was afforded a legitimate chance to gaze at John Lennon. To hear him, too.”
“Later Paul remembered that he was struck by how good Lennon looked, and how good he sounded. He was also intrigued by what Lennon got wrong. Lennon played his guitar oddly, his left hand making simple but unfamiliar shapes on the fretboard, and he messed up the words in a way that Paul found almost inexplicably thrilling.”
“John was not just older; he was already a big figure in the small world of southeast Liverpool teenagers. He had glamour, a gang of mates, and a skiffle group of which he was the undisputed leader. He was, according to those around him at the time, magnetic, unignorable. Girls fancied him, boys feared him. Standing before that stage, looking up, Paul knew that if he wanted to be friends with John, or to join him up there one day, he was the one who would have to make the effort. John Lennon didn’t care.”
“Paul also knew that he had a shot at propelling himself into John’s orbit through their shared love of rock and roll — a love of listening to and playing it. Indeed, this was the reason he wanted to meet John in the first place. [...] For all that he was looking up to the older boy that day, he was also auditioning him.”
“Other than music and a pronounced suspicion of authority, John and Paul shared something else: they were walking wounded. Each, in his short life, had experienced jarring, alienating, soul-rending events that left permanent scars.”
“It is true to say, however, that these two women [Julia and Mimi], who between them were the biggest influences on John’s formative years, offered diametrically opposed models for how to live. One represented hard work and self-discipline: the importance of making something of yourself, of learning how to play the social game and winning at it. The other represented freedom, self-expression, and the need to break out of society’s prison to seek higher, purer truths of art and experience. In 1957 it must have felt to John Lennon that life was about choosing between these two paths — between two ways to be a person.
Then along came Paul.”
“Years later, when Paul recalled how John chewed up and spat out songs on stage that day, the one that came to his mind was not ‘Hound Dog’ or ‘Be-Bop-a-Lula’, but ‘Come Go with Me.’ It wasn’t skiffle or rock and roll, it was doo-wop. [...]
Doo-wop and the music that grew out of it [...] formed an underacknowledged but crucial influence on the Beatles. You can hear it in their painstaking attention to harmonies and love of vocal blending, in their use of backing vocals as sonic coloring, and in a plethora of details, like the way John hangs on a falsetto in ‘In My Life’ (‘in m-ah-ahy life’) or Paul sings the bass part on ‘I Will.’ Lennon uses doo-wop’s innocence as a backdrop for dark humor in ‘Revolution’ (‘shoo-bee-doo-wop’) and in the final section of ‘Happiness Is a Warm Gun’ (‘bang bang shoot shoot’). Paul rips his vocal cords to shreds over a doo-wop chord progression on ‘Oh! Darling.’ Lennon drew on doo-wop, this time affectionately rather than ironically, in ‘(Just Like) Starting Over’, which turned out to be the last single he released. Doo-wop bookends the John-and-Paul relationship, present at its beginning and at the final parting of ways.”
“McCartney later recalled sitting at the piano and smelling beery breath over his shoulder, before realizing it was John. Looking back, it’s tempting to imagine Paul as the center of attention, everyone crowding around him, mouths agape. But one of those present — Pete Shotton, a Quarry Man, and John’s best mate at the time — said he barely remembered Paul being there at all. I suspect that Paul didn’t seek to dominate the occasion and was quite happy for others to drift in and out. He had an audience of one.
He hit his target. Lennon was struck by how well this lad could play, and by how handsome he was (‘He looked like Elvis. I dug him’). He was also impressed and a little unsettled by Paul’s lack of fear.”
“At Woolton fete each of them heard the other say, Come go with me. And when Paul reached across to take John’s guitar [...] the twentieth century tilted on its axis. Two damaged romantics with jagged edges that happened to fit began to fuse into something new and packed with energy.”

* Fun fact - Mariya has a nickname from her father Fyodor, "Bunny". It is because of her appearance resemblance to a white rabbit.
Before Mariya was born, Shibusawa has this alias (who is also albinism (according to BSD anthology).
