âNothing and even if I wanted someone else I would look for similarities to Dean in them and thatâs not fair.â Y/n replied in a calmly tone.
âYouâre still love himâ Kelly stated instead of asking.
âHe still leaves messages of whatâs going on with him, Sam and Cas.â Y/n said with a Controlled smile dodging Kellyâs question with ease.
âI was doing some reading on Angel Lore and found out that Iâm going to die given brith.â
âKelly.-â
âNo this was my choice he is going to need mother and I want you to be his.â
âKelly letâs worry about names before you give me The responsibility of taking care of a child okâ Y/n Informed Thoughtfully.

Eureka Springs,Arkansas
Dean is laying on the ground. There is a rabbit sitting beside him. Dean wakes up suddenly, looking hung over.
âOhh...âDean starts to sit up a bit, brushing leaves out of his face.âUgh.âHe looks down and sees the rabbit. âHey, buddyâ He moves the rabbit behind him and stands up. âMm. Ah. Wow.â He looks around, unsure of where he is. He pulls out his phone to make a call and sees the screen is badly cracked and his phone no longer works.âOh, come on.â
He turns around and sees a walking path not far from where he's standing. There are several people walking/jogging along it.
âAnd I was like, "Andy, the dog's vegan." The women with a  stroller exclaimed to whoever she was on the phone with.
âHey. Hey.â Dean said trying to get the ladies attention.
âHow could you give himââ The woman finally notices Dean.âExcuse me. Do you mind if Iâ â. Woman gasps and recoils from Dean. She reaches into her purse hanging off the stroller and hands Dean some money. âWha-â
âJust don't buy a drink.â The women answer. The woman's baby makes some noises as she starts walking away. âI-I know, Stacey.âThe women remarked.
âHuhâ Dean said in a courteous manner. Dean looks around again and sees a man jogging towards him with a dog. He walks up to him to talk. âHey. Hey, hey, hey. Excuse me.â Dean Announced  making The man stops jogging.
âLook, uh, uh, I'm not a â not a bum, okay?â Dean started. The man removes his ear buds to hear Dean. âJust somebody who really needs to use a phone. Do you mind?â Dean asked.
The man hesitates, and then unplugs his headphones and hands Dean his phone.
âGreat. Thank you.â Dean said with a  note of relief. Dean walks a short amount away from the man to make his phone call.
âOkay.âDean dials a number and the phone starts ringing. Sam's phone light up with a phone call. Sam picks up.
âHello?â Sam questionedâ
âSam?â Dean replied.
Sam is relieved to hear from Dean, and concerned about where he's been all night.
âDude, where the hell have you been?â Sam wondered. Dean looks around the park confusedly, and at the man jogging in place.
âIâm not really sure about that.â
âYouâWell, where are you now?â
Dean looks around again.
âI'm not real sure about that either. I, um... â Dean replied. He hears truck horns blaring and sees a Waldo's Waffles sign.
âOh. Ha ha. I'm starvin'. How you feel about waffles?â He Asked Sam.
Sam makes a confused noise. âWhat?â
âDumb question. Right. What psycho doesn't love waffles?â Dean grinned. Sam is totally confused by what Dean is saying.
â I mean, they're fluffy. You got the little pockets full of syrup. You just cover 'em in whipped cream. Am I right? Anyway, meet me at Waldos', okay?â Dean explained then hangs up and gives the phone back to the jogger. Sam is very confused and tries to say something, but Dean has already hung up. âHeyâMaâ.â
The murmur of quiet conversations and the door closing as Sam walks in and heads towards Dean, who is sitting at the counter, eating waffles. Dean turns towards Sam and feels disappointed that he doesnât see Y/n as he walks up to the counter. âOh. Hey, did you bring any, um...â Dean grimaces and motions to his head.
Sam holds up and shakes a pill bottle.âYes.â Dean beamed grabs the pill bottle as Sam sits down next to him.
âSounded like you could use it.â Sam noted as Dean opens the pill bottle.
âOh, man.â
âRough night?â
âRough morning.â Dean answered takes the pills out of the bottle and takes them with his coffee. Sam watches him bemusedly.
âWh-What happened? I mean, you just went out to get some food.â Sam stammered.
âI don't know.â Dean murmured.
âWhat does that mean?â Sam asked.
âI-I guess I blacked out. And judging from this hangover, it was epic.âDean motions to his head.
âWell, I tried to call you.â Sam Told Dean.
âUm....âDean pulls out his destroyed cell phone and holds it up for Sam to see. âOh.â Dean tosses his phone on the counter. âNot sure how that happened.â
âGreat.â Sam pulls out his own phone. âAll right, well, I'll text Mom, make sure she knows to get a hold of me in case of emergency. And Cas, in case he tracks down Y/n and Kelly.
Dean's face screws up in confusion at the mention of Kelly. Sam looks at Dean incredulously. âThe mother of Lucifer's love child? Also the one you made Y/n chose over you.â Sam told Dean.
Dean suddenly remembers who Kelly is. âRight. Right. Yes, the Devil baby mama drama.â Dean grins, looking quite amused with himself. âSay that five times fast. Devil baby mama drama.â
Sam turns towards Dean and glances at the plate of waffles he's eating and the one that just arrived. âAll right, Dean, you know, uh, you had a good run, but maybe let's pump the brakes a little bit. I mean, you're not 20 anymore.â Sam voiced.
Dean just stares at Sam for a moment. âOkay, one, the Rat Pack partied till the day they died. And B, I can still kick your ass.â Dean answered turns to face the front again and takes another bite of waffle. Sam scoffs at him. Dean, with his mouth still full calls for more waffles. As he does so, a group of young women enters. One of them appears to recognize Dean before joining the rest of the group which has sat down.
âMm. Got a man who needs some waffles down here.â Dean called out.
â âOh, no. I'mâI'm fine. I'm...â Sam noted.
âYou can just take these if you want.â Dean said pushes a plate of waffles towards Sam.
Sam puts his hand up to get the bill, and checks his watch. âNo, Dean. Look, the morgue opens in, like, 10 minutes.â Sam shared as Dean takes a sip of his coffee and again looks confused.
âThe morgue?â Sam stares at him.
âThe autopsy results. Are you still drunk?â Sam questioned. Dean turns his head slightly towards Sam, but doesn't look at him. âI don't think so.â Dean stated as Sam leans over and sniffs Him.
âAll right, ourâour case?â Sam began. âThe dead guy, throat stuffed full of money. Any of this ring a bell?â
Dean seems to remember what Sam is talking about and is nodding his head. âRight, yes. Right. Um...the accountant. Barry Gilman.â Dean replied.
âRight.â
âRight.âDean turns towards Sam. âUh, and you think he got his ticket punched by a demon.â Dean proposed.
âMaybe.â Sam guessed.
âOkay, but when we went over to his place yesterday, we got a whole bunch of jack and a little bit of squat. There was no hex bags, no EMF, no sulfur, which means no case.â Dean replied turns back to his waffles as Sam sighs deeply.
âYeah, but if it's not a case, then what is it?â Sam stated while Dean picks up his coffee and turns back to Sam.
âI donât know. Death by money? You know, maybe the guy got whacked by, uh, some mob dude with an ironic sense of humor. â Dean said  taking a sip of coffee. Sam chuckles and turns.
âAll right. Well, I'm gonna go scope out the body. If you wanna spend some more alone time with, uh, your waffles...all right. Have fun.â Sam disclosed and  gets up from the counter. The group of women that previously walked in, with the one woman turned to face the boys.
Dean wipes his mouth with a napkin and turns to get up as well and follow Sam.
âFine, hold up.â Dean called to Sam and he turns to Dean and motions to the counter.
âDid you pay?â Sam queried then Dean stops and reaches for his wallet.
âOops, no. Right.â
âYou got it?â Dean tosses some cash on the counter. Behind him we see the girl from the group approaching.
âI got it.â Dean said.
âThis is last night â Said The woman looks angry. She then smacks him across the face and storms back to her friends. Sam gives Dean a questioning look, watches the girl as she walks away and then looks back at Dean. Dean stands there for a moment, then nods once.
âYep. Epic night.â Dean said in a dry tone.
Dean walks past Sam out of the restaurant. Sam stares after him.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â â
Y/n is outside in the backyard chopping wood when her neighbor Nathan Jones Mr. Tall, dark, handsome. He kind of puts you in a reminder of Superman and not the Superman Returns but the Man of Steel.â Hey how are youâ Nathan said walking up to Y/n.
âGood just chopping up some logs trying to clear my head. You.â Y/n said in a Casual tone.
âOh nothing I was just about to head into town and thought you might need somethings.â
âOh wow Thank you Nat thatâs so sweetâ Y/n grinned as she stop chopping wood to really look at Nathan.
âI realize you donât like to leave Kelly alone so I thought I would help you outâ Nathan finished looking at Y/n with sincere written all over his face.
Y/n hugs Nathan. âYouâre the best um Iâll get you a list and then when you get back Iâll pay you backâ Y/n promised.
âOr you could pay me back with a date tonight we donât even have to go out Iâll cook for you.âNathan said in a flirtatious way.
â You can cook.â Y/n Breathed out.
âIâm a man of many talents.â he answered smirking at Y/n.
Y/n giggled uncontrollably.
What the actual hell is wrong with me.
Y/n looks up at Nathan.
Maybe I should let Dean go.
âI would love tooâ Y/n beamed at Nathan.
âSo sevenâ he replied.
âSeven is perfect.â Y/n said in a soft voice smiling.â Iâll go get that list for ya.â Y/n said walks in the house getting a grocery list Kelly already made and walks back outside to Nathan and hands it to him.
âWell I better get going Iâll see you laterâ Nathan told Y/n before walking away.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â â
Driving up to the morgue Sam and Dean gets out the. Car Sam proceed to walk into the morgue but Dean hangs back and Sam notice.
âYou comingâSam asked Dean.
âYa Iâll be in an minute I have to find my badge.âDean lied trying to be alone.
âOk Iâll head inâ Sam replied as he walks inside the morgue.
As soon as Sam disappears into the morgue Dean pulls out his phone and dial Y/nâ number. Dean waits for the voicemails to hear her voice because he knows she will never answer the phone not anymore.
âItâs Y/n leave a message.â
âHey I was just calling to um I donât know I was going to but-â Pauses.âI miss you I didnât realize how much I missed you until this, morning when I saw Sam walking into Waldoâs alone and him remind me why you left. I hope thereâs a part of you that listens to the messages I..I gotta go.â Dean said in a sad grimace hang up the phone. Clearing his throat so he wonât sound too emotional when he walks into the morgue.
The body of an older man on an autopsy table with his upper torso uncovered. The boys are in their FBI suits standing beside the body. One of the morgue staff walks in carrying a box with evidence from the body in it. She hands it to Sam and turns to leave.
âHey.â Dean said getting Samâs attention
Sam takes the box the staff member is holding.
âUh, thank you.â Sam said to the morgue staff.
âGreat. Weâll let you know if we need anything else. Thanks.â Dean said. The staff member leaves, closing the door behind her. Dean looks slightly uncomfortable.
Sam places the box on a stand beside the body. âAll right.â Sam Asserted as he  begins looking through the autopsy report. âSo cause of death was suffocation. Officially.â
âOkay. We already knew that.â Dean told Sam.
"See evidence bag B 1-4." All right.â Sam replied puts the report down and opens the box and looks through the bags in the box, which all contain items that are covered in blood.
Dean cringes and turns away. âUgh. Mm.â
Sam pulls out a bag full of very bloody money. Dean looks like he may throw up.
âHuh.â
Sam turns and shows the bag of money to Dean.
âSays they pulled all this from his stomach.â. Sam answered as Dean is trying to avoid looking at the bag while trying not to throw up.
âMm-hmm â Mm. Big breakfast.âDean Breathed lookin briefly at the bag and then turns away covering his mouth. âOkay.â
Sam looks at Dean and turns to put the money back in the box. âAll right.â Sam noted.
Dean continues to make gagging sounds while Sam looks through the box. He finds a small bag with a small pink hex bag inside. âMm. Ugh.â
âWell, well.â Sam started as he takes the bag with the hex bag inside out and shows it to Dean. âYou were saying about an ironic mobster?â
Dean sees the bag and sighs. âAll right, so...a witch force feeds old Barry here a hex bag and then casts a spell.â
âYeah, a spell that pumps him so full of cash, he dies choking on it.âSam said turning and puts the bag back in the box.
âUgh. Witches.â Dean murmured as Sam picks up the report again and looks through it. âWell, I guess it's true what they say. Mo' money, mo' problems. Right?â Dean proclaimed smiles and chuckles to himself and walks past Sam and out, as Sam just stares after him.
âI hope you're still drunk.â Sam mused follows Dean out.
The boys leaving the morgue  and walking to the car. âSo why would somebody want Barry dead? I mean, what, did he screw up a tax return?âDean questioned.
âHe's actually more of a money manager.âSam explained.
âWell, whatever he was, looks like he, uh certainly made one hell of a...uh... âDean trailed off. Sam stops and looks at Dean he tries to remember what word he's looking for.
âEnemy?âSam finished for Dean. They reach the car and continue talking briefly before getting in.
âEnemy. Yeah. Those guys.â Dean murmured.
âMaybe he blew the wrong person's savings.â Sam wondered.
âAll right, well, let's check out his clients.â Dean disclosed as he fumbles around with his keys.
âWhich one? Barry worked for the richest families in town.â Sam questioned as they both open the doors and get into the car. Dean is sitting in the drivers seat looking through his keys as though he doesn't know which one he needs. Sam watches in disbelief.
âWow. Man, you were serious about epic. It's the square one.â Sam joked.
Dean seems slightly confused.âYeah. I know.â Dean inclined.
âYou-â Sam started.
Dean starts the car and puts it in gear. He looks behind him, getting ready to back out. He gives it gas and ends up going forward and crashing into 2 newspaper boxes, where a woman is looking at a paper. Sam looks up startled.
âSon of a bitch.â Dean said in a casual tone.
âCome on!â The lady yelled.
âWhat the...â Sam voiced.
âReally?!â The lady said with Fire.
âSorry! Our fault. I... â Sam explained as he looks at Dean in shock. Dean seems to be quite confused as to what's going on.
âR for "reverse," Dean.â Sam commented to Dean as he just sits there confused occasionally looking up at Sam. He seems unable to focus on what Sam is saying or to what's going on around him.
âListen, man, I-I know we haven't had it easy lately. This thing with the Devil's kid, getting tossed into West Guantanamo and Y/n leaving makes me wanna crawl into a bottle, too, sometimes, but...dude, you're wrecked.â
Dean's gaze is wandering and unfocused.
âAnd we got a case to work so get it together, all right?â Sam made public but Dean doesn't respond.
âDean? Dean?â Sam called.Dean looks up and turns towards Sam.
âWho's Dean?â Dean question and Sam looks very confused and concerned.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â â
Y/n is getting ready for her date looking at reflection in the mirror as Kelly waddles into her room.
âYou look Smokin hot is you getting all dolled up for neighbor boy.â Kelly beamed as she looks at Y/nâs hair itâs in her F/h. Y/nâs outfit a  Black leather jacket with a red and black shirt and blue jeans, and some Dr. Martens Hurston Chelsea Boot.
âYes I am he asked me out on a date. Heâs going to cook for meâ Y/n squealed.
Once again what the hell is wrong with me... maybe itâs about food and Iâm not cooking it ya letâs go with that.
Phone rings that pulls Y/n out her thoughts as she goes to see whoâs phone is ring. It herâs she answers it without checking whoâs calling.
âHello?â Y/n questioned.
âY/n?â Sam questioned standing outside his and Dean motel room.
âSam?â
âI honestly didnât think you would answer....Iâm glad you did.â
âIn all honestly I didnât see who called I thought it was Nat.â
âNat whoâs Nat?â Sam wondered in a curious tone.
Y/n chuckled. Man I miss Sam.âHeâs a friendâ
âHmm well I called you to tell you that um Dean in trouble heâs losing his memory. I know that you left because of Dean but it would mean a lot to me if you could come to Eureka Springs,Arkansas.â Sam asked.
âIâll be there.âÂ
Sam is Flabbergasted he didnât think it would be that easy.âThank you Y/n.â
âYou donât need to thank me Yosemite I will always be here for you.â Y/n said with a fond look. âIâll be there as soon as possible bye.â
Y/n hangs up the phone then finds Kelly.
Kelly is sitting in her Rockingchair.
âHey Um something came up and I have to go to Arkansas.â Y/n revealed.
âWhy what happened.â Kelly asked in a small panicky voice.
âDean he is in trouble and Sam needs my help itâs bad Dean is losing his memories and Sam worried that Dean will become and empty shell.â
âOk do what you have to do.â Kelly said hiding the disappointment in her voice.
âYou can come with me if you want youâll just be stuck in inside the Hotel room until all of this is over.â Y/n Remarked.
âNo no Iâll be fine here.â Kelly insisted As she gets up from her Rockingchair and walks away from Y/n.
âKelly whatâs wrong.â Y/n asked as she follows her.
âY/n what if they put a tracking device on you. What if they follow you back to me-.â
âSam is like a brother to me and if anything ever happened to him when he called and asked me for my help I wouldnât be able to live with myself. I wonât let them find you OK you have my word on that and my word is my bondâ Y/n answered.
âJust be safe.â Kelly replied trying to hide her worried.
âOf course I am Iâll be back before you know it.â Y/n said getting ready to walk out the door but Kellyâs voice stops her.
âWhat about your date with Nathan.â
âDamn it that is to nights.â
âWhat are you going to tell him.â
âThe truth someone I care about is in trouble and they need my help.â Y/n said as she walks out the door closing early she walks over to Nathanâs house she knocks on his door anxiously waiting for him to open it
Right when Iâm about to mover on Dean Winchester ruins it-
Y/n thoughts gets cut off as Nathan opens the door.
âYour early I just about to start cooking looking amazingâ Nathan Announced
âI really like you Nat but something came up someone I care about is in trouble and they need my help.â

Y/n smiles and kiss Nathan on the cheek.
âAs soon as I get back Iâm cooking you dinner thank you for understanding I got to go.â Y/n told Nathan then walks away.
â â â â â â â â â â â â â â
âI told you, I'm fine.â Dean Announced to Sam as he walks into their motel room.âWhat were you do out there?â Dean asked wondering what took Sam so long to get into there room.
âNothing nothing...Dean, you forgot your own name.
âFor a second. Okay, yeah, that was weird.âDean commanded as he walks over to one of the beds and takes his jacket off.
Sam closes the door and walks towards Dean.
âAll right, look, we know we're dealing with a witch, right? Maybe you got hexed.â Sam pointed out as Dean takes his jacket and gun off and tosses them on the bed.
Dean turns to Sam in slight amusement.âDude...If a witch got a clear shot of me, I would be dead, okay? I wouldn't be freakin', uh...Dory. â Dean explained.
âDory?â Sam asked Dean.
âI'm not gonna apologize for loving that fish. Not to you, not to anyone.â Dean declared.
âRight. Okay. All right. If you're doing so well, name all the members of Bon Jovi.âSam insisted.
Dean scoffs.âOkay. Uh, we talkin' circa 1983?â Dean began.
âSure.â Sam agreed.
âDone. We got Bon Jovi.â Dean pauses, unable to remember the rest.âWhatever. This is stupid. Sam, I'm fine. Okay?âDean disclosed turning and walks back towards the bed.âI feel great. Look, Uh... âDean stated. He turns and picks up his gun and looks back at Sam.âThis is a gun.â He pointed out dropping the gun back down and points to his coat. âThis is a coat.â He walks over to the lamp in their room and gestures at it. âThis is a...a...a...light stick.âDean noted.
Sam is startled at Dean being unable to remember the proper word then Sam pulls off the sticky note and stands up. He walks over to the lamp and puts the sticky note on it. It says Lamp.
âFine, but until you get better...âSam told Dean as he  looks at the note and snaps his fingers.
âLamp. Right. So close.â Dean commented.
A poker game taking place in what looks like a server room of sorts. Rowena is playing with 3 men. He pushes all his chips to the center of the table.
âShall we end the suspense?â One of the man said laying his cards down and Rowena lays her cards down and  they are much better than the man's.
She laughs.âWhat's that? Six in a row? Beginners luck.â Rowena commented.
She reaches over the table to pull all the chips towards her. Her cell phone rings as she's collecting her chips. She looks at the number and excuses herself from the men to take the call.
âOh. Gentlemen, if you don't mind.âRowena Asked  walking a short distance away and answer the call.
âI'm a wee bit occupied at the moment. Rowena shared.
âYeah, well, we need your help, Rowena.â Sam revealed.
âOh, really?â Rowena answered.
âCome on, man. Rowena? I mean...â Dean trailed off. Dean is inspecting the mini fridge as Sam speaks to Rowena.
âYes. Really.â Sam confirmed.
âHey?â Dean called out and Sam turns to Dean.
âTiny vodkas. Score.â Dean grinned and Sam shakes his head.
âAm I saved to your contacts now? Tell me. Have I got my own ringtone?â Rowena wondered.
âThis is serious. Look, I think Dean's been hexed okay? HeâHe's been forgetting things.â Sam announce.
Rowena turns to look back at the poker game as she speaks.âMaybe he's just drunk. Oi!â Rowena question.
âHe's not drunk.â Sam answered.
Dean picks up the ice bucket and points inside it. âWe need ice.â Dean announced as he continues pointing at the bucket. Sam just shakes his head at him and ignores him.
âWe could do a memory spell. But did his hair fall out? His body too?â Rowena made public.
âWhat?â Sam questioned.
âFrom the neck down, is he smooth like a Ken doll?â Rowena asked with a curious tone.
Sam looks grossed out at the thought of that. âI donât know. Uh, and I'm not checking either.âbSam avowed.
âRules out a mnemonic curse. The obliviate spell wipes the memory clean over time, but it's intricate magic. I... â Rowena started.
âHow do I break it?â Sam asked.
âTheoretically? Kill the witch. Or true love kiss so you know you would have to talk to right.â Rowena declared.
âYa got it. She already on her wayâ Sam answered.
âhow do you pull that one offâ Rowena wondered.
âY/n still cares about me and Dean so of course sheâs going to help if one of us is in danger now I got to go.â Sam replied hanging up the phone and turns to talk to Dean only to find out that Dean has left to get ice.
âAll right. So...Dean? Dean!â Sam said in a small panicky voice running out of the motel room and looks around outside.
âDean!â Sam shouted as He runs up to the second level and keeps looking.
âDean?â Sam called out as he walks around a corner and finds Dean trying to get into another room with the ice bucket tucked under his arm.
âDude, what are you doing?â Sam Queried then Dean turns to look at Sam.
âGetting ice. What are you doing?â Dean asked Sam.
âThat's not our room.â Sam commented.
Dean looks around confused and then shrugs and walks away.âAll these dumps look the same.â Dean replies as they start walking back down to their room.
âSo this spell, I'm stuck in some sort of "Memento" crap?â Dean Stressed.
âRight. The fix sounds fairly simple. You just find the witch who did it and kill it or true love kiss.
âOh, Halle-freakin'-lujah but thereâs no way Y/n coming to help us so plan a kill the freakinâ witch.â Dean noted.
âSo Y/n is your true love?â Sam Asked and Dean gives Sam a look that can only mean shut up.
âRight well I think you got hexed last night.â Sam revealed
âYeah?â Dean Asked.
âYeah. We need to retrace your steps. All right, think.â Sam replied as they stop just outside of their room. âWhat's the last thing you remember you did?â Sam questioned.
Dean thinks about it and the taps the ice bucket and opens the lid. âUh...I got some ice.â Dean replied.Sam looks frustrated with Dean.
The boys looking around Barry Gilman's office again.
âOkay, from yesterday, the last thing I kinda sorta remember is us being here in um... âDean trailed off. He snaps his fingers to try and remember as he wanders over to the desk.
â...guy's office. Uh...â Dean mumbled.
Sam is looking through shelves in front of the desk.âBarry Gilman.â Sam informed.
âYes. And...we were here and we were, uh, we were looking for leads.â Dean pointed out, as He opens a red lacquered box on the desk and finds cigars inside. He takes one and puts it in his coat chuckling. Sam is now standing in the middle of the office. âYeah. Douche tax.â Dean claimed.
âYeah, you did that yesterday, too. All right, come here.âSam answered.
Sam walks over to a wall with pictures on it. Dean joins him there.âCheck these out. Do these shake anything loose, these pictures.âSam Asked.
Dean looks at the pictures. He seems to look at one a couple times, but doesn't remember anything. Then Dean looks over at one photo in particular of the accountant and another man in a blue jacket. âNo. None of them.â Dean noted.
âOkay, think hard. What happened next? I went to hit the lore. You went out for a burger. So... â Sam trailed off.
Sam looks hopefully at Dean.âSo....â Dean shrugged.
Dean gets frustrated that he can't answer.âWhat do you want me to say? I-I ate 'em?âDean questioned.
Sam is getting frustrated with the lack of information.âOkay, okay. You know what? It's not a big town. How many burger joints can there be? Come on.â Sam stated as they  walk out of the office.
Hailing a taxicab Y/n pulls out her phone and texts Sam.
Y/n- Iâm here
Sam feels his phone buzz in his pocket and he reachers for it and see itâs a text from Y/n.
âHold on.â Sam called out to Dean as he is about to walk into a pub then calls Y/n.
âHow did you get here so fastâ Sam questioned.
âI got on a plane three hours and seventeen minutes so where am I going?â Y/n told Sam.
âMeet us at Blue Boarâ Sam replied.
âOk Iâll be there in ten.âY/n informed hanging up the phone getting in to the taxicab.
âBlue Boar please.â Y/n told the cab driver.

You've mentioned it in a few tags, but if you have the chance/inclination, I would love to hear more of your thoughts about the final scene of 13x03 -- as someone who was, er, less than pleased with the ep, I'm trying to get a more positive angle on it, and I love your insights (and agree with them more often than not) so...help? ^^;
I donât know what insights I have, but I can talk about my thoughts. This ended up being super long, so the thoughts are under the cut:
First of all, I think all analysis should start with a very close reading of the text. Letâs look at the dialogue in the episode in two key scenes.
First, a snippet from the third scene. We start off fineâSamtired, Dean neutral. (Heâs clearly also tired, but he comes in more surprisedabout the Missouri thing than angry, depressed, etc.) Then, Sam says that heâssending Jody to take care of Missouriâs case, so that they can stay to workwith Jack.
SAM: We need to help Jack learn how to control his powers.Jody can handle this.DEAN: Yeah, maybe she can. Or, maybe she ends up dead because you wanted to skipout on her to babysit the Antichrist.
As soon as Jack is mentioned, Dean immediately moves to anger. Itâs quiet, but obviously accusatory, and obviously thatâs aimed at Sam. Heâs upset that Sam is putting Jack abovetheir friends. Sam responds with confusion, for a secondâheâs staring at Dean, wrinkled forehead (so much forehead), wide eyes and parted mouth of shock. Theystare at each other, with Dean clearly fishing for a response. Then,
SAM: Dean, we need him.DEAN: No, donât.SAM: MomâDEAN: Donât. Youâ If you want to stay here and Mr. Miyagi this kid, knockyourself out. I didnât sign up for that, so Iâm gonna go to work.
So, Dean leaves. Sam sighs, and groans, but heâs not angry.Dean wasnât even particularly angry in that last line, but he reacted sharplyto we need him, and doesnât even wantto hear Samâs theory. Note how quickly he interrupts on Mom.
Okay, now we can skip over a lot of the boring Patiencebusiness (though, it is interesting that Dean tells a smiling Jody [?? What wasthat, as a directing choice?] that heâs fine, and then is CLEARLY NOT FINE ATALL). We come back to the bunker with Dean having seen yet another of theirfriends (or good acquaintances, at least) die, in a world which he is nowtelling people is crapsack and shitty. Now:
We enter the penultimate scene on Samâs clearly upset face. He looks like a wife whoâs been sitting in thedim kitchen waiting for her deadbeat husband to get home from the bar so shecan scold him. He wonât even turn around to face Dean when he greets himâthoughhe does greet him, asking about the case and acknowledging Missouriâs death.Dean is grim, and even more obviously exhausted than he was at the beginning. He immediately starts with a mean-spirited joke, and we watch Samâs face whilehe says it:
DEAN: Howâs the kid? He go dark side yet?
Sam squeezes his eyes closed in suppressed anger.
SAM: Nope.
He finally turns around, ready to confront Dean. Heâsfidgeting with one of the target-markers on the war table, which is relativelyunusual body language for Sam. He also has an interesting slouch, and openposture. Heâs not shamefaced, or apologeticâheâs ready to fight.
SAM: He is pretty messed up, though.
Dean responds neutrally. This isnât a fight, he doesnâtthink, just a statement of fact.
DEAN: Youâre telling me.
Sam looks down, and then responds in a tone which isâless antagonisticthan his posture had been, and after he speaks he meets Deanâs eyes directly. His expression isnât angry, but rather⌠disappointed.
SAM: No, Dean, heâs messed up because of you.
When Dean looks back, and looks genuinely confused by this,Sam smiles (humorlessly) and his mood shifts closer to anger again. How couldDean not get it, he seems to be thinking, and he slaps the target-marker downon the war table in another slightly aggressive posture.
SAM: Dean⌠You said youâd kill him.
Dean looks away, understanding where Samâs upset is comingfrom (perhaps) now. Itâs not quite an eye-roll, but that wasnât quite how thatmoment between him and Jack went. We can guess now that Dean didnât tell Samthat Jack was stabbing himself and trying to die, because Sam would have askedhow that conversation went. (Of course, itâs possible that Dean did barereporting, but the tone of this next line implies that the conversation betweenDean and Sam about this moment didnât happen.)
DEAN: It wasnât exactly like that.
Thereâs a slight emphasis Dean puts on that, and heâs not angry yet either. He looks back to Sam, andmaybe he was going to explain more, but Sam jumps in with:
SAM: Then how exactly was it?
A line which, while ostensibly calm in tone, is said a) as abit of an interruption, and b) Samâs sighing through it and giving Dean a look, putting himself on Jackâs siderather than Deanâs. Dean is having a rough⌠week, letâs put it that way, and hedoesnât respond well to this. We see immediately that Dean is thinking aboutthat moment from earlier, and he hasnât had the benefit (unlike the audience)of seeing the patient, slow way Sam is working with Jack, and learning abouthis feelings and personality.
DEAN: I told him the truth. See, you think you can use thisfreak, but I know how this ends, and it ends bad.
The camera here cuts to Jack, listening in, and weâreclearly immediately meant to feel bad for the poor sweetheart. (By the way, thank god theyâve complicated him with a touch of brattinessâif it were allsyrup all the time heâd be unbearable.) That being saidâDean has a long, long history of being right about this stuff, and as theaudience we know that, too. But thenâwe cut to a different locus of the argument.Sam moves from talking specifically about usinga supernatural power to bring a loved one back to life (something weâveseen them do multiple times and which they tend to agree is a bad idea⌠exceptwhere their brother is concerned), and changes the conversation to be about this:
SAM: I didnât.DEAN: What?SAM: I didnât end bad. When I was the âfreak.â When I was drinking demon blood.
Sam says it aggressively, strongly, sharply. Puts obviouspauses between the phrases. Dean immediately discards this, and heâs doing ittrulyâitâs not him making a point, he really honestly does not believe thatthese situations are remotely similar.
DEAN: Come on, man, thatâs totally different.
Sam is keeping the argument here, though; heâs drawing avery close parallel between himself and Jack.
SAM: Was it? Because you couldâve put a bullet in me. Dad told you to put a bullet in me, but youdidnât. You saved me. So help me savehim.
We see Dean rejecting this line of argument even as Samâshalfway through it, though. He doesnât like this parallel at all and disagreeswith it. Superficially, of course itâs true, but Dean doesnât buy it, andclearly doesnât like the implications.
DEAN: You deservedto be saved. He doesnât.
We cut here to Jack again, looking sad, while Sam insistsâ
SAM: Yes, he does, Dean, of course he does.
But then we cut back to Dean, and the camerawork here isinteresting. Finally, Dean is making this into a real argument, moving close. Sam is gigantic in the foregroundhere, and Dean is small and looking up and bleeding hurt, and heâs absolutelyrejecting Samâs parallel-drawing. He remembers where the argument started, andheâs still having none of it:
DEAN: Look, I know you think that you can use him as somesort of an interdimensional can opener, and thatâs fine.
Note: itâs clearly not fine. Sam doesnât like theaccusation, either, though he did start the day with âuseâ rather than âhugsand kissesâ. Anywayâ
DEAN: But donât act like you care about him, because you onlycare about what he can do for you. So, if you want to pretend, thatâs fine, butme? I can hardly look at the kid, âcause when I do, all I see is everybody weâvelost.
Now Dean is raising his voice, reacting from strong hurt. This is still the core of the problem. Itâs not hating Jack-as-a-person, itâshating Jack as a function. A subtledifference, but key, I think. Sam responds to the accusation of Jack as responsiblefor the various lossesâ
SAM: Mom chose totake that shot at Lucifer. That is not on Jack.
Dean doesnât disagree, but moves directly to the issue ofactual (possible) culpability, as far as he understands it.
DEAN: And what about Cas? SAM: What about Cas?DEAN: He manipulated him. He made him promises. Said, âparadise on earth,â andCas bought it. And you know what that got him? It got him dead!
Deanâs voice is raised again and thereâs a shiver of emotionrunning through it; when we cut to Samâs coverage (and again, the camera is lowbehind Deanâs shoulder and Sam is massivelooming over him), Sam is grimacing and looking down, not exactly pushing backagainst Deanâs feelings or his point.
DEAN: Now, you might be able to forget about that, but I canât!
And then we cut, quickly, between Deanâs wide-open pain, and Samâs more shuttered expression. Then thereâsquiet, and we cut to Jack, who seems to be having real feelings about Castielper Kellyâs cheerful inculcation, earlier, and we cut there to the final scene.
âŚSo. A lot is going on, there. You know that, for me, the Sam & Dean relationship is the actual main plotof the show. A lot of crap happens that they have to react against, but italways comes down to these two, for me. As weâve also discussed, the latterseasons have this general shape: seasons six, seven, and eight are aboutfiguring out where they stand with each other, post-Apocalypse, whichculminates in the âmarriageâ scene in Sacrifice (even platonically, that was areal promise of devotion); seasons nine and ten are about working through theconsequences of betrayal, and working out how devoted they truly are to this âmarriageâ;seasons eleven and twelve were about the close, mature, real work of making theâmarriageâ function. In seasons eleven and twelve they were honest with eachother, worked through their problems by talking; when there was a secret, theyapologized quickly and forgave quicker, and they had each otherâs backs throughthick and thin. Itâs remarkable, the level of maturity theyâve reached.
Season thirteen has opened on avery dark time for the Winchester boys, and theyâre starting from verydifferent places in dealing with it. Dean is heartbroken; Sam has hope. Samâshope is pinned to Jackâs power. He wasnât positive that Castiel was ultimatelydead, as we saw with him questioning Dean twice about that in 13.01; he hasalso mentioned repeatedly that he doesnât think their mother is dead, thatLucifer might have kept her alive for some reason. (Which heâs right aboutâreally,if anyone knows what Lucifer might do, itâs Sam Winchester.) Dean, in contrast, refuses to believe that Mary is alive and heâs certain that thereâs no comingback for Cas. He has clung to that defeat almost as a comfort, a way to keepwalkingâgetting his hopes up, just to have them dashed, would be even morepainful. He gave up, and we saw it, the second God didnât answer his prayer.
Sam and Dean disagree a lot, butitâs rare that we get to see a profound disagreement like this which isnâtlocated in a personal place. We sawreal anger between them in season four and season nine. We saw personalbetrayal, dismissalâweâve even seen them try not to be family, though of coursethat never lasts long. (Might be impossible, considering the soulmate aspect.)This disagreement about Jack is bad, and that was a real fight they had, thereat the end. But the disagreement is still located on Jack, and I think thatâs a very important distinction. Sam ismad at Dean for causing Jack pain, but he clearly understands why itâshappening and where itâs coming from. Dean is mad at Sam for trying to keep(what he thinks is) false hope alive and trying to use the supernatural forces, when that always ends bad. But thisisnât fury. This isnât personal betrayal. Dean lashed out in a cruel way withthe âoh, I guess you just forgot about Casâ line, but thatâs⌠frankly, veryDean. He lashes out when heâs upset. Sam knows that, and he doesnât lash back,heâs just⌠frustrated. A punch isnât going to be thrown, here.
Put it a different way. In aphysicalized incest world, where they might share a bedroom in the bunker? Noone would be getting any tonight, and there probably wouldnât even be cuddles.(The horror.) But after this argument, I can still see them going to bedtogether. Samâs shoulders might be held high and tight, and Dean might have tohave a few beers after his shower before he slips quietly into bed, but theyârestill on the same team. They still love each other, and thereâs no doubt aboutthat. Theyâre just mad. Theyâll get better. This argument doesnât make me doubtthatâs true, for a second, and the Winchesters donât doubt it eitherânot in theAU where their love is more obvious, and not canonically.
There is an argument to be madethat Dean is coming off poorly, here, specifically because they keep focusingon the woobified aspects of Jack. âJack is such a sweetie, and Dean is just abig meanie-head.â I can see why people are thinking that. However, I donâtthink itâs true. This episode particularly, with Jack acting a tiny bit bratty,weâre starting to get a more complex view of him. A lot of the work with Jackin the episode focused on choice. Kellyâs little video insists that Jack can bewhatever he chooses to be; thatâs contrasted against Samâs insistence to Jackthat he can be both powerful and good, and Deanâs insistence that the situationwill go wrong and that Jack was always going to be evil. That duality was a strongtheme throughout. Jack threw a tiny bratty tantrum; Jack was surpassingly sweetwhen Sam offered him a helping hand. He doesnât know what side heâll fall on,and neither do we, and neither do the Winchesters. They have their opinions, and the fans are developing their own, but it is being left ambiguous which wayit will goâand I love that. The turn comes when Jack thinks about Cas, who maytheoretically be a neutral partyâand then the episodeâs focus immediately flipsto Cas waking up in the Empty, upon Jack literallyonly vocalizing his name. What kind of fucking power is that, holy cow.
Anyway. Deanâs anger and hurtare real, and weâre shown repeatedly how deeply itâs felt. Is it pretty? No. Isit heroic? No. But it feels real, and itâs why this show is worth watching. Meanwhile,Sam is truly, really trying to help Jack⌠and heâs also not pretending like hedoesnât want to use him, which is so deeply in character for Sam that it makesme want to do a little dance. These complexities are why I still come back, andIâm so glad weâre getting them. Itâs looking right now like 13.04 will continuethis argument, and this complexity, and I canât wait. I love that I can loveDean Winchester, and see every tiny bit of where heâs coming from, and stillthink heâs wrong, and still be interested in how the story is unfolding. In alot of ways, this is reminding me of mid-season nineâwhen we knew that Dean haddone wrong, and we knew exactly whyhe had. I was completely neutral, there, and Iâm neutral now. I just want tosee how the story unfolds.
