Fall Away!
Another season is off and running and here's the recap of what I've been up to, as well as my upcoming projects for the next month!
Alien Hearts

I worked as an Intimacy Consultant on the indie film Alien Hearts this summer. Based on the Guy de Maupassant' novel of the same name, Alien Hearts tells the story of artist André Mariolle as he intersects with the rich Miche de Burne, a patron to artists. It was a delight to work with writer/director Kevin Townley and the amazing actors on this modern queer romantic fantasia.
It's Getting Tired Mildred

Season 10(!!) of It's Getting Tired Mildred kicked off with a sock puppet episode this past weekend! Enjoy this backstage shot of me with my counterpart, Sock Puppet Lacy! Next episode is October 12th.
Dreamcats! The Musical

I'm so excited to be a part of this show, created by one of my favorite groups, Midnight Radio Show! Not only am I acting in this hybrid puppet/live action sci-fi fantasy show, but The Dysfunctional Swingers are debuting a brand new dance piece! Happening Saturday at 7:30 as part of the Evolution Festival at the gorgeous space at The Center at West Park. Tickets and info can be found here.
Feejee Mermaid

I'm thrilled to be intimacy/violence director for the debut play for the new theatre company Drops in the Vase! On the eve of the 19th Annual International Taxidermy Championships, four experts of the trade gather in a hotel room. Fueled by competitive tension and a whole lot of alcohol, they spend the night vying for supremacy. Who can master the act of creation, and achieve perfection? By the end of the night, one of them proves they are willing to push the boundaries of their craft further than anyone ever thought possible. The show runs Oct 16-Nov 2. Tickets can be found here.
Peter and the Starcatcher

The fall production for NJIT, I'll be helping out with some of the fights for the show. It's such a fun show and I'm looking forward to jumping into rehearsals soon!

"we're moving you to another cell" the guard, Richie, taps his baton on the iron bars, John sets down his book he was reading a moment ago and frowns up at the man from his place on the bed "wait- what?! why?" The man grunts "one of inmates is moving to another ward and his cellmate is man no one wants to be close to" John rolls his eyes "is it Kevin?" he asks and the guard seems to lose his patience "just get up and pack your shits, now!" "..you got to be kidding me" he mumbles once he sees who is going to be his new cellmate "Michael Townley?! no way I stay-" The guard just pushes him inside and closes the door, ignoring John's protest.
"Proud, huh? You got some low standards, pal." Michael looked the sarcastic fuck up and down, indifferent to the mockery. He didn't care what job he had anyway. So long as he was doing something, the time in this hellhole would go a lot faster. And, it was far the fuck away from John - a blessing no matter how the other looked at it.
As the guard yelled at John, Michael waved him off. "You heard him, go on Vogelbaum." Shaking his head, he then went over to his own line and stood, keeping his attention ahead of him instead of giving it to John. If only he had some itch powder to sneak into the fuck's laundry.

It's Tarot Tuesday!
Let's look at a different approach to selecting the Signifier card. This is the card that you take out of the deck to represent you. Most people pick a card they like or one that speaks to them. However, many people pick important cards, like the Magician or the High Priestess or some other major arcana. Bear in mind that when you select such important cards, you are taking them out of your reading, and that can impact the results. (Also, I always thought it was a little pompous to select the Magician to signify yourself).
There are cards that rule over your birth, and are great for being your Signifier. These are the standard pip cards: Wands, Swords, Coins/Pentacles, and Cups. So if you take one of these out of the deck, you are not going to significantly impact your reading if the major arcana have something to tell you. In some tarot practices, these pip cards are ruled over by the decans, the spiritual intelligences of the zodiacs. There are 36 decans, and each decan rules 10-degrees of a zodiac. This is something that goes back to Middle Kingdom Egypt, on through Greece, Rome, et al. In turn, the decans are ruled by a planet in succession of their order in the geocentric cosmos. The decans rule the 2-10 cards (ace cards have their own attributes, and the royal cards are a whole other subject), and along with that a planetary intelligence rules over each decan.
So to find the card and decan that rules over your birth, look at your natal chart and see where the sun was in your sun sign. I was born with the sun in Sagittarius at 13.3-degrees, so I would look at Sagittarius, which is attributed to the Wands, then 13.3-degrees and find it is the 9 of Wands. Thus, if I choose to, I would use the 9 of Wands as my Signifier, which is ruled by the Moon.
What's your Signifier for the Tarot?
This chart is based on a chart found in Kevin Townley's The Cube of Space: The Container of Creation (1993).

The second half of this reading by former Kansas Poets Laureate begins with Wyatt Townley (2013-15), who introduces the Kansas Poet Laureate she followed, Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg (2009-13). Caryn reads from her poetry collection about yoga, as well as her prize-winning book, Chasing Weather. Denise Low (2007-09) reveals some poetic inspirations: turtles, Native American ancestry, and self-deprecating humor, then circles back around to the most recent former Kansas Poet Laureate, Kevin Rabas (2017-19), who ends with his jazz poem "Sonny Kenner's Red Guitar." 7 Best Meditation Retreats in 2019

Looking to take your meditation practice to the next level? Learn about the top meditation retreats in 2019.
Whenever you settle into a new habit that you enjoy, it’s easy to make it a part of your daily routine. Take yoga and meditation, for example. When the practice clicks, it can be hard to imagine going a few days without doing it.
However, once you get to a certain point, you might find yourself wanting to take what you’re already doing one step further—to deepen and up-level your practice. That’s often when a yoga or meditation retreat comes in. After all, sometimes you have to step away from your daily life to take your practice to the next level.
Thanks for watching!Visit Website
Adreanna Limbach, head teacher at MNDFL meditation studio in New York City, can relate. She points out that that the purpose of a retreat is to deepen your practice, which in turn offers you a deeper understanding of the benefits of meditation practice—more clarity, more ease, more insight, more emotional resilience

“A number of years ago I was on retreat in Colorado, and I realized all of the worries, uncertainty, a challenges I had been applying so much effort to ‘solve’ and ‘figure out’ very naturally became clear to me over the course of a few days of solid practice,” says Limbach. “It was like the mental equivalent of watching delicate jewelry gently untangling itself.”

Limbach says she finds meditation retreats that remove her from city living and take her into nature are the most beneficial. “Not only does it help me to disarm and shed my city skin,” she says, “but I’m also a firm believer that sometimes we need to give ourselves some space away from our habitual thoughts and behaviors—and the environments that created them—in order to untangle our patterns and see them clearly.”
Whether you just started dabbling with meditation or you’ve been meditating for years, we’ve rounded up some of the best meditation retreats in 2019—led by some of the world’s most experienced meditation teachers. With everything from weekend retreats to more intense, week-long experiences, here’s hoping you find the experience that will take your meditation practice to the next level.

Pro-Police Supporters Brawl With BLM Protesters In Colorado, Three Arrests Made
A pro-police group rally in Colorado turned violent after protesters clashed with Black Lives Matter supporters. More inside…
Police in Fort Collins, Colorado have arrested three people and cited another after fights broke out between two opposing groups during a pro-police rally.
Hundreds of people posted up outside of the Fort Collins police department Saturday afternoon for the “Back the Blue” rally. Counter BLM protesters arrived and all hell broke loose. People from both sides were involved in several fights that were caught on video.

Neither side was singled out for blame and police said both sides had "active aggressors.”
Here’s the list of suspects arrested or cited by FCPS (via 9NEWS):
• Townley,42, was arrested for disorderly conduct (class 3 misdemeanor).
• Kruger, 25, was arrested for disorderly conduct (class 3 misdemeanor) and resisting arrest (class 2 misdemeanor).
• Mischler-Deleon, 37, was arrested for disorderly conduct (class 3 misdemeanor) and possession of an illegal weapon (class 1 misdemeanor).
• A 42-year-old person was also cited for criminal tampering (class 2 misdemeanor).
“We respect everyone's right to peacefully assemble. Our officers have consistently supported these rights in recent months as people have gathered to make their voices heard. For the safety of our community, acts of violence and other unlawful behavior have not and will not be tolerated from anyone,” FCPS Chief Jeff Swoboda said in a written release.
“Truly supporting a cause means representing its values. Committing crimes in our community is not a way to support police. We stand for safety, period. We want all of our community members to feel safe here in Fort Collins and we reject any form of hate.”
The police are still trying to identify and locate suspects who left the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. CJ O'Loughlin at 970-416-2571.

The 25 killer statistics that sum up Manchester City’s brilliance
Pep Guardiola complained during the week about the media coverage of his Manchester City side, despite the fact they are one of the Premier League The greatest-ever sides.
City beat Watford 6-0 on Saturday to add the FA Cup to their title and League Cup, completing a domestic treble that has never been won before.
Here, Sportsmail runs you through 25 killer statistics that sum up City's brilliance.
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City demolished Watford 6-0 to win the FA Cup
Since the start of 2011-12, Sergio Aguero has scored 18 FA Cup goals, three more than anyone else in the competition. He did not need to get off the bench against Watford.
Compared to other great Premier League sides, City come out on top. Sir Alex Ferguson's treble winners of 1998-99 had a win percentage of 57.9. Arsenal's invincibles in 2003-04 won 68.4. Jose Mourinho's Chelsea in 2004-05 and 2005-06 won 76.3. Guardiola's side won 84.2.
City became the first English top-flight side to clinch a half-century of wins in a single season. They won 50 or their 61 games in all competitions in 2018-19 (32 in the Premier League, 6 in the FA Cup, 4 in the League Cup, 7 in the Champions League and 1 in the Community Shield).
Sergio Aguero did not have to move from the substitutes bench at Wembley
In the Premier League, they led in matches for the most minutes (2,088) and trailed for the fewest (132). They also equated their own record of 32 wins in a single season.
Manchester United finished 32 points behind City – as many as they finished ahead of relegated Cardiff. It is the most points United have finished behind their Manchester rivals.
The overall passing accuracy in the Premier League has gradually increased since Guardiola arrived to enhance English football. It was 78.4 per cent in 2015-16. Now, it is 79.6.
This season saw a higher goals-per-game ratio than in any other season (2.82, beating the previous record or 2.81 set in 2011-12). City led the way by scoring 95 in the top flight in 2018-19.
They scored nine goals in a game once – against Burton on their way to League Cup glory. They also scored seven goals twice (against Rotherham in the FA Cup and Schalke in the Champions League) and six on five occasions.
City set several Premier League records last season and they came close to bettering them in 2018- 19. They won 32 games and 18 at home – both of their own records.
The overall passing accuracy of the Premier League has improved since Guardiola came
Guardiola became just the eighth manager to win the English top flight, League Cup and FA Cup, joining Bill Nicholson, Don Revie, Joe Mercer, Kenny Dalglish, George Graham, Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho in achieving the feat.
Liverpool sat top of the table for 141 days… but still came second to this outstanding side. City were only in first position for 125 but were top when it mattered, on the season's final day.
The decision to award Kevin De Bruyne man of the match Raheem Sterling caused some surprise but the midfielder did complete all 40 of his passes in Saturday's final.
City became only the fourth team to win both of England's major domestic cup competitions, after Arsenal in 1992-93, Liverpool in 2000-01 and Chelsea in 2006-07.
Only two other sides had scored six goals in an FA Cup final before. They were Blackburn against Sheffield Wednesday in 1890 (6-1) and Bury against Derby in 1903 (6-0).
Kevin de Bruyne was awarded man of the match on Saturday and complete all 40 passes
That scoreline meant City have scored 26 goals in the 2018-19 FA Cup – the most by a side in the competition since Charlton scored 29 and Derby scored 37, both in 1945-46.
Sterling has been involved in 41 goals in 51 games in all competitions this season (26 goals, 15 assists). Only Aguero betters that figure among Premier League players (42).
Sterling became only the fourth player to score a hat trick in an FA Cup final – after William Townley for Blackburn in 1890, Jimmy Logan for Notts County in 1894 and Stan Mortensen for Blackpool in 1953.
His inclusion about Aguero may have raised some eyebrows but Gabriel Jesus had a direct hand in more FA Cup goals than any other player this season (8 – 4 goals, 4 assists).
City scored 169 goals in all competitions, breaking their own record from 2013-14. Aguero got 32 of those, followed by Sterling on 25, Jesus on 21 and Leroy Sane on 16.
David Silva became only the second City player to score in both FA Cup and League Cup final, following on from Yaya Toure.
Raheem Sterling has been involved in 41 goals in 51 games in all competitions this season
Watford have a dreadful record against City and have lost their last 11 matches against them
City beat every club in the league at least once in back-to-back seas us for the first time since Preston in 1889 and 1890.
Watford never stood a chance, really. The Hornets have now lost their last 11 matches against City in all competitions, conceding 38 goals in those games.
This was City's 11th appearance in an FA Cup final. They won in 1904, 1934, 1956, 1969, 2011 and 2019 (and lost in 1926, 1933, 1955, 1981 and 2013).
For points won by Premier League champions, City now sit first and second in an all-time table. They secured 100 last season then picked up 98 this season. The next best is Chelsea on 95 in 2004-05. Manchester United's best in a 38-game season was 91 in 1999-00.
City's FA Cup win means they have surpassed Chelsea's win for major trophies in the 2010s. They now have 10, followed by Chelsea on nine and Manchester United on six.
