Ongoing Series - Thai

Your Sky (Sun iQIYI) ep 8 of 12 - So awkward and so cute! I love the sibling relationships in this show. They’re all so wonderful. 

Could we talk about Thomas in that aborted sex scene? That ultra sensual sniff test neck thing?

He did a phenomenal job at conveying Japanese thirst with Taiwanese payback, unique IMHO for Thai BL. Kong did a pretty standard Thai style uke call and response, perhaps a bit more sexy than most. But Thomas was really spectacular. All in all, a particularly sensual make-out scene, rare in this kind of BL. I applaud the actors and director.

These two are so lovely.

OMG Lee has a phi he likes? Where did this nugget of joy come from?

Hyung romance crumbs are a go! Just for me? How kind. Goodness Lee has got great game, watch that boy work. He certainly didn’t get it from his older brother. Also that was such a smooth approach, what a classy way to get permission to court. I don’t know why we got this inserted tiny short story, but I’m not mad about it. I hope we get more. But this is crumbs, can’t expect it. 

ThamePo (Fri YT) ep 5 of 12 - I love how Po understands Nano's feeling of heartbreak as just that, since to lose a friend (or friends) can be as painful as losing a lover. Po is such an empathic character, I love him so. 

The Heart Killers (Weds Gaga) ep 7 of 12 - I did bark with laughter at Style��s dad interrupting them. Also I enjoy the tension of knowing that there is doom in coming. It’s fun to watch these actors really stretch themselves to portray loving boyfriends with secrets. Bison looks like a determined little feral thing, Fadel just looks tired poor baby. 

Caged Again (Fri Gaga) ep 10 end - Pet fish baby + cat = snack…… EPIC. Also giving a cat a career as a stuntman is genius. 

Final Thoughts

A sweet and innocent show with an absurd premise = sunshine penguin + grumpy panther become human boys and fall in love. With great leads and sides, a solid (if campy) support cast, and sweetly queer backbone, this still never entirely resonated with me because it was just a little too slow. Still I can totally understand why others loved it so much. 8/10 

Fourever You (Thurs YT) ep 15 of 16 - I love that North has no artifice whatsoever. But frankly I’m really more interested in the 2 pairings still to come. If we are lucky. Arthit “getting bitten by piranhas” thing was hilarious. 

Sangmin Dinneaw (Sun iQIYI) ep 2 of 10 - Of course I love the argument over linguistics, this time honorifics. So good. But the rest of this ep was pretty slow. 

Perfect 10 Liners (Sun YT) ep 11 of 24 - Gun is a little dim, poor thing, but I do kinda adore him. Yotha is a bit of a melodramatic queen though I love how he deadpan responds to teasing and always acts exactly like a boyfriend. And I see GMMTV’s patented “single brain cell club” is back. 

The Boy Next World (Sun IQIYI) ep 1 of 10 - Well it’s certainly intriguing. And I like this pair better here than in their first series. 

Ossan‘s Love Thailand (Mon YouTube) ep 1 of 12 - Oof. Well, it’s better than the original, but that’s not saying much (from me). It’s slightly less overacted. I still find the lead utterly unappealing and I have no idea why anyone, including the audience, is supposed to be interested in him. But if he looks like Earth maybe it makes a little bit more sense? Mix is great. Honestly? This just made me wanna rewatch Thousand Stars.  

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

See Your Love (Taiwan Weds Gaga) ep 13 end - What a darling little show. I genuinely couldn’t have enjoyed it more. About a deaf care worker and his spoiled broken little prince. Taiwanese at its softest and best. Highly recommended. Easy 9/10

(for me the only flaws are the first 1/3 and the fact that it's unlikely this will be a big rewatch for me)

Our Youth AKA Miseinen: Mijukuna Oretachi wa Bukiyo ni Shinkochu (Japan Tues Gaga) ep 10 end - The feeding each other water thing when the water-bottle trope is so prevalent in JBL = just so good. 

Summation 

Adapted from a Korean Webtoon I can see why this went to Japan, it's super harsh for KBL Essentially a story about two lonely boys from opposite sides of the track who fall madly in love in high school, despite the fact that one is  repressed and the other abused. Despite a rough premise (trigger warnings) this is an oddly lovely little show. Darker than is my personal preference but sublimely stylish, turns out sometimes that combo works for me (see The 8th Sense). The world that springs to mind is “refined.” I enjoyed the restful distancing feel of the filming style.

This is an easy 9/10 from me. 

Eternal Butler (Taiwan Fri Gaga) ep 5 of 12 - I’m sorry but if you have a sex robot, he should be self lubing. Just saying. Also…… better at parking (pun not intended). I like the sides now. I’m enjoying this more than the first installment, easer power dynamic to digest. I do kinda adore the main couple and all their kinks. 

When it Rains it Pours (Japan Thurs Gaga) ep 1 of 10 - Convoluted story about a man in a relationship who is sexually unfulfilled and his friend who is in love with him, who accidentally become secret confidants.

Teenager Judge (Vietnam Sat YT) ep 15 of ? - no time this week, two next week.

It's airing but......

Winter Is Not The Death of Summer (Thai ???) - has been picked up to air on WeTV, or something? Criminals who meet in prison fall in love. I did find it on YouTube, initially un-subbed, then subs happened by which time I got distracted. It is very pulp but intriguing. For now it's to the wayside until someone tells me it landed safely. Occasionally Thai pulps want to be edgy and it's not a good look on them. But sometimes they do good.

2x14 – Born under a bad sign rewatch thoughts

I love Meg. Have I mentioned that before?

I especially love Jared’s take on Meg. His performance this ep was over and above. He managed to play Meg play Sam and sprinkle in enough of Sam’s quirks but make them not land quite right so the audience knows something’s up!

His scene with Jo was just downright intimidating. I haven’t seen all the eps of Lucifer-Sam yet but if he can do this with Meg, I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of that arc. He plays evil well.

The idea that Hell is Hell for demons too and they want out is an intriguing notion and gives them motivation for wanting to escape. That demons have something they’re scared of is a scary thought in itself.

Dean was also great this ep. Seeing his desperation and the lengths he’ll go to in order to save Sam is great foreshadowing for the end of the season and honestly just sums up his character.

I’ll also admit I really like Dean and Meg’s interactions in general. They’re always so sassy with each other.

Sam’s “did I miss anything” and Dean punching him in the face was perfect. Hilarious!

It was nice to see Jo again but her return was definitely overshadowed by Meg and was kinda awkward.

Them playing Jo and Dean’s scenes like a couple post-breakup was a bit odd. They had nowhere near the level of connection to justify playing it that way.

[🐰] soobin  the same living room that you’ve frequented more often than not is as quiet as it is on any other day. perhaps, the thing that separates this out to be different than other times would be the fact that you and soobin both know that you two have been charting into... uncharted territories. more expressive, more... flirtatious. the kind that makes your heart flutter; that keeps you up at night, smiling foolishly at your phone just as soobin does the same from the confinement of his room, giddily smiling at your texts.

with the dormitory empty, leaving you two in the privacy of your own bubble, it wasn’t out of place for you and soobin to cuddle up on the sofa. only this time, you’ve decided to use his lap as a pillow. cut to two, or three episodes of an anime soobin wanted to rewatch later, he can’t help but trail down to look at your side profile. he has a mental debate; fingers twitching to touch you and at the same time, maintaining the hold he has on your arm. he hadn’t realised he was staring until you turn the cheek, looking up at him with a small smile.

apparently, you had asked something and he wasn’t responding. but it seems like that might be luck on both of your sides since it granted you two to look at each other despite the odd angle. soobin swallows the lump in his throat, his hand on your arm now moving up to lightly brush along your cheek. based on the way your smile grows just as his palm meets the side of your face, it feels like it’s where it truly belongs when you look so at ease; so safe.

he gapes, eyes trailing from your eyes down to your lips, then back up to your eyes once more. it seems like it’s reeling something from deep within you as you slowly sit up, shifting closer and closer until soobin’s heart nearly stops at the proximity and the thought of what’s about to happen. his hand is trembling against your cheek, his thumb caressing the under of your eye as he licks his lips, “i... i’m not sure i know how to...”

if there was one thing that was evident in the plenty of things that soobin loves about you is the way you’re able to understand what he means without saying it entirely. you chuckle and nod, lapping over his hand on your cheek, “it’s okay. let me...?” your voice trails off in a slight suggestion; a nudge to the direction you two had intended of going.

he nods. fairly quickly. too quickly that it makes you laugh. he laughs along, only because you look so pretty that he had to. then, everything feels like it slows down when you lean forward to press your lips to his. plush and soft. welcoming and scared but exciting. it was a flood of emotions coming together yet, fusing blissfully despite the nerves buzzing.

when you pull away, you can barely take a breath when soobin’s leaning forward this time, firm yet gentle with his grip on your face to keep you still so he can kiss you this time. it’s a little awkward; rushed, but when his lips manage to move slowly as if he’s testing the waters, it makes the corner of your lips twitch to a subtle smile that soobin kisses into... until it brings the same effect to him. by the end of it, you two are resting foreheads on each other with giddy smiles and the anticipation to–”c-can i kiss you again?”

“please do.”

tl;dr: boy will be on thinking overload and would halfway short-circuit because he’s not sure how to approach it. i either see it happening with you being cheeky to give him the first peck to the lips and it awakens him to kiss you back or he’ll try to rush into it so he can kiss you more often and more naturally. the first kiss, though? might be awkward, and a little rushed, but trust that it’ll be full of sincerity and such giddiness that it makes you reminded all over why you truly love him.

[🦊] yeonjun the way yeonjun had planned to kiss you didn’t exactly happen the way he thought it would. if anything, considering he’s been up every other night just thinking of when or how to approach doing it, he ends up dreaming about it to the point he knows it’s driving him insane. especially since he knows or at least can feel the way you’re reciprocating his advances, never once turning him down. from holding hands, to casually having his hand on your waist as you two walk side by side, to allowing him to take the first bite from your food?

now, that is love. (to yeonjun and you, at least)

so when he’s racking his brain of the plentiful ways to approach kissing you for the first time, he shrinks up. he wants it to be memorable but comfortable, too. he doesn’t want to rush it but... he’d be lying if he said he didn’t think about it every time he saw you in person; whether it was a meet-up with the rest of the boys or alone... he just wanted you.

and apparently, so did you.

yeonjun realises he’s been staring for the past few minutes of silence of being out by the balcony together. he has you in his arms, merely hovering his head over your shoulder but clearly he hasn’t been looking at the nightlife ahead of him and just the one in his arms. his stare isn’t left ignored when he feels the spark that makes all the gears in his mind stop; all the loud noises of overthinking and ‘what if now is the right time’ fades when it’s left with the feeling of your lips on his and it’s electrifying. 

it’s like you’ve switched something in yeonjun; like a button has been pressed when he gently turns you around so he can have a hold on your waist, his other hand coming up to cup the side of your face so he can dip down to kiss you properly. he relishes in the soft sigh that he swallows, stepping closer but also pulling you in, away from the railing and deeper into his embrace. he feels your hands resting on his shoulders for support and soon, he’s smiling into the kiss because you’re smiling.

altogether, the feeling of warmth and safety and giddiness envelopes the pair of you to the point where you’re smiling too hard to keep kissing.

he pulls away, just enough to rest his forehead onto yours and open his eyes, not realising he had them shut. his body reacts out of relief, letting out a chuckle that it makes you open your eyes to follow suit. he watches as your eyes find each other as his thumb gently strokes the under of your eye. in the midst of this delirious high, yeonjun admits without thinking: “i knew i would love kissing you, but this was just...”

“better than the dream?” 

“yeah,” he sighs, eyes fluttering shut briefly before it snaps open, his head bobbing backwards with his brows furrowing quicker than you had imagined, “wait, how’d you know?”

“jun,”

“...yeah?”

“you do realise you talk in your sleep sometimes, yeah?”

“no...?” his voice squeaks up, to a pitch that’s adorably dorky that it makes you chuckle. to spare him the embarrassment, you squeeze his shoulders and take a step closer. the proximity makes yeonjun’s eyes widen but you can tell he welcomes it wholeheartedly when he clutches onto your waist, his free hand still pillowed to your cheek; cradling you, keeping you near.

“kiss me again.”

that elicits a snippet of a smirk that pokes a corner on yeonjun’s lips; him already leaning in as if it’s on demand, “gladly.”

tl;dr: the rather spontaneous but also has been thinking about it for days on end before he actually does it. i see yeonjun as someone who might plan out the perfect kiss but could also lean towards allowing it to happen rather naturally. he wouldn’t rush into it, but he’d love to have the first kiss so that he can kiss you at any time he wants after it. given his personality, i don’t think it’ll be awkward (even if he is or feels that way) because he’ll mask over it pretty well with his charming ways.

[🐯] beomgyu the night is slowly going to sleep with flicker of lights of the city start to diminish one by one. the world somehow gets louder and quieter at the same time. honks and beeps from the roads reduce but the murmurs and movements of people increase in this weird mix of noises that accompanies the crickets and wind blowing as you remain seated on the hood of beomgyu’s car. the weather is chilling but as you share a blanket with beomgyu, half-leaning against his shoulder and half-supporting yourself with an extended arm a slight distance away, it doesn’t feel cold at all.

“doesn’t this look like something out of a movie?” beomgyu questions out loud, as if he knows despite not looking at you (lies, he’s already looking at your side profile admiring the view when he’s admiring something else), his words would reach you otherwise.

“yeah,” you snort, now turning the cheek to scoff, “like a cheesy rom-com movie where the two idiotic main characters finally realise they like each other or some shit,”

you don’t miss the way beomgyu chuckles; shakily, as if he’s nervous but you can’t tell if it’s the cold of the night or if he really is. you can’t tell even more when you watch how his eyes travel from your eyes, down to your lips, then back up to your eyes before he says: “and maybe they kiss,”

beomgyu gauges your reaction and as far as he’s concerned, it looks like it’s lit up green, green, green all the way when your eyes widen with a slight gape of your lips. the way you follow his force of attraction by leaning in just as he leans in, his breath a mere inch away as it hits your lips that there’s still time to turn back if you wanted to.

but when you don’t, when you remain unmoving and as your eyes give him one final look before fluttering shut, beomgyu swears there’s a sort of pull towards you when he feels your lips against his and it’s addicting. he doesn’t know who does it again, or who pulls the other flush to the chest but he doesn’t mind it one bit. all he knows is he may have bitten your lip when you wince, and he utters a quick shit, sorry! before diving back to kiss you again to make it up to you.

beomgyu’s zealous with the way he chases for your lips to keep kissing you; it’s making the butterflies in your stomach roam free, as if the world is filled with them each time he reaches for you and gently pulls you closer and closer. but your lungs give way as you carefully push him back with a hand to his chest, reeling out a whine from him as he opens his eyes to frown at you, “hey, i wasn’t done...”

“i need to breathe,” you huff, smacking his chest. he clutches onto your hand that hits him before you can pull it back, grinning at you with the shake of his head, “i can’t believe you called us idiots in a rom-com movie,”

you sneer at him, “i can’t believe you just called us idiots in a rom-com movie.”

“...sorry?” he laces his fingers with yours, making you almost give in but you use your now interlaced hands to nudge at his thigh, “how many times are you gonna say sorry?”

“well... should i ask for forgiveness in other ways?”

all you do is raise a brow at him, as if to wordlessly say how so?

"how many kisses will it take?”

“hm... dunno.”

“guess we’ll have to find out,” he grins, using the same hand he has in your hold to tug you over to him, until your position shifts to turn your body until you’re facing him. it’s a clear access and new angle for him to–”i’m going to kiss you now.” (as if you needed a warning for something you wanted to happen over and over again)

tl;dr: this cheeky mastermind would probably have something up his sleeve to “plan” for a perfect setting for a kiss but wouldn’t be too on the nose about it. if you didn’t pick up hints of it, he’ll probably let it slide and use it as an excuse to create another opportunity. if you do, he won’t pass up on it and would double down to kiss you there and there. although he can be seen as affectionate, he’s also someone that wants it to be reciprocated. so unless you’re showing signs that you want to kiss him, he won’t push on too much and would wait for the right time to come again.

[🐿] taehyun for the life of taehyun, he has no idea what has possessed him to continuously think of just kissing you throughout the entire day. they say that you can do whatever you put your mind to it but... no one mentioned to taehyun that once the idea is planted in his mind, he wouldn’t be able to focus on anything else apart from the only goal in his mind.

taehyun is known for speaking whatever he has in his mind and... in this moment–right now–he’s no different.

he was paying attention to what you were saying. or at least, he was trying his absolute hardest in deciphering the words coming out of your mouth only to realise nothing makes sense. it’s like he’s caught red-handed and wide-eyed when you’re calling him out for–”are you even listening to me?”

he doesn’t know if he’s nervous because he’s about to say what he thinks he’s about to say, or that you’re laughing at him like you’re not offended even though he’s certain he’s missed like a couple of chapters of you talking away.

“um... no?” his shoulders shrug up a bit higher than it should that you snort, turning around from where you’re sitting (which was merely a couple of steps away as you sat by your study desk, taehyun occupying your bed as he was scrolling on his phone a moment ago), “y’know, if you wanted to lie, at least make it believable.”

taehyun takes a deep breath and lowers his phone, half-heartedly tossing it aside as he swallows thickly after, “i... i need to tell you something,”

you nod slowly, “mhm... i’m listening...?”

fuck it.

“i would very much like to kiss you right now.”

taehyun watches as his words seep into your skull, as if it’s rotating the gears in your mind but in reality, it’s twirling the corners of your lips to a small smile. eyes being lit up with the hint of shyness as you scoff a laugh, giving him the green light when you nod again, “okay.”

this time, you watch as your single-worded answer kickstarts something in taehyun that pushes him from the bed. he eliminates the space between the pair of you with a couple of steps and he’s brazen; going as far and as quick to cup your face and then the nerves hit him of being nervous. you feel his palms against your cheeks that make your eyes flutter shut in anticipation but it’s the way he hesitates with trembling hands holding onto you like you’re the most precious thing he’s ever held is what makes you grip onto his arm to give him the little tug down and boost that he needs to kiss you for the first time.

it’s gentle and short-lived, but it’s special because it’s with taehyun.

to him, it was more and everything he could’ve wanted because it was with you.

tl;dr: i can see this guy either being very shy or very direct. i don’t know if there’s an in-between but i just feel like taehyun might be quite direct about it to see what happens. a sort of ‘yolo’ situation, if you will. in a way, i think if it’s on taehyun’s mind to do it on the day he’s thinking of, he might just get it done and over with. not that it’s something to just do, but it’s something he wants to be able to do and express his love for you all the time that he knows once he gets the first kiss out of the way, he has free reign to kiss you whenever he wants. so it may come across as he’s rushing but really, he just wants to be able to kiss you anytime he pleases without disregarding the importance of the first time.

[🐧] kai  as ridiculous as it may sound, kai has it planned in his head that he will kiss you by the end of this week if that’s the last thing on his mind. it was his goal, mainly because he’s been thinking about it so much it’s beginning to be unhealthy and he just really wants to kiss you. he can’t explain why the thought arises so much but it’s the fact that it does and it never leaves his mind could be the dangerous factor as to how he doesn’t process anything that’s going on.

it seems like in the midst of his silence and lack of responsiveness has captured your attention from the show playing from his laptop at the end of the bed. maybe it’s the position you two were in that worked in his favour to have your face so close to his that he can count the lashes above your eyes or the curve of your lips that tug up at the thought of teasing him for his makeshift poker face.

“you okay?” your voice is soft, hints of playfulness hiding underneath that it only makes kai a bit more anxious to do what he’s been planning to.

it seems like you’ve caught on when you notice how he doesn’t say anything or even respond verbally like how he usually would. instead, he swallows thickly and blinks at you a couple of times that–”are you broken?” you snort, thinking it was funny (and it was, but kai can’t comprehend that either), only to realise that he’s still not responding that it’s starting to make you nervous.

“kai... either you say something or i’m going to assume you’ve sold your soul to the devil–”he snaps quicker than you thought”–i wanna kiss you.”

at his admission, at your reaction, it’s a combination of both that makes the atmosphere tense with anticipation and silence. kai watches his words sink into your mind and tug at the corner of your lips. it only makes his heart beat faster. (because you look pretty when you smile and he’s thinking this is going in a good direction)

“so... you didn’t sell your soul to the devil?”

“no,” he’s able to chuckle, “i still have my soul... for now, at least.”

“okay,” you nod, and it seems like kai doesn’t process what you mean. “huh?”

“i mean... to what you said. okay.”

this time, you watch as your words register in kai’s mind that it–”o-oh!” he exclaims, eyes growing wide, “i–okay, i’ll just–”he shifts a little closer, as if he wasn’t already. his hand carefully reaches up to your cheek to hold you but you can feel he’s a nervous wreck that he starts blabbering out: “i’ve never done this before so i... i’m probably not going to be great at it.”

“doesn’t matter,” you reassure him, lapping the hand he has over your cheek with a smile, “we can figure it out together.”

kai moves in slow, slower than he had intended because he didn’t know that’s how slow he was moving in the first place. in his mind, he thought he was moving very quickly but then it all–everything–you–your lips–him–it slows down to the millisecond he feels your lips on his. there were a million thoughts racing through his mind but now–in this moment–everything is blacked out except the thought and feeling of you connected to him that it makes his heart swell.

the kiss is short but it’s–”w-was that okay?”

“more than okay.”

tl;dr: introducing, huening.exe.404.error because he’ll probably freak out too much to control himself that you might need to take reign... at first. i feel like kai might need the confident boost in the beginning to reassure him that he’s doing something right and boy, he’ll take off with eagerness to learn and be better but overall, he’ll just be very, very happy to kiss you whenever and however he likes that you can expect his kisses to be a part of his love language to show you affection.

Honestly, Jaune is a character I have a lot of feelings about. I love him and dislike him in a tidal dance depending on the volume and where I myself am at mentally at the time I'm rewatching that part. And the love and dislike often come hand in hand.

Jaune is a very entertaining character who gets to receive lots of worldbuilding exposition in volume 1, due to being a complete dunce who faked his transcripts. But at the same time, I resent the four episodes he got in the first volume when screen time was so precious.

I adore Jaune in the rest of the Beacon arc, post volume 1. I genuinely do. I could rave about the Arkos dynamic and story forever, I adore him with Pyrrha and the tragedy in it.

But, at the same time, his attitude towards his crush on Weiss is uhh...not great. Do I hate him for it? No. But I remember being like that with my first crushes, in my early teens, so I watch a seventeen year old be that way and uncomfortably go "..oof."

Then we have volume's 4, 5 & 6. I love the fact the show truly made Jaune fucking depressed post-Beacon, considering everything that happened. He is brutally traumatised after the agonising final step to his personal Beacon arc. And the scene at Pyrrha's statue in volume 6 is still one of my favourite scenes in the entire damn show.

But at the same time, I still get pissed at how harsh he is to Qrow during A Much Needed Talk (even though it's warranted) and his lashing out in general (even though he's a traumatised teenager).

Jaune takes a heavy backseat during the Atlas arc. Which is completely fair, he had reached the major milestone of his growth by that point. It was time for Ren & Nora to really get their first bits of spotlight since Kuroyuri in volume 4. Jaune's very likeable in 7 & 8, and doesn't really ever overstay his welcome in a single scene or situation he's in. He fits now, which is what Jaune, the character, always wanted.

But then we get to volume 9. Ho boy, volume 9. And I was once again thrown into my paradoxical feelings towards him.

I did not want him to fall into the Ever After, I wanted volume 9 to just by Team RWBY in a vacuum, getting the team moments we kinda...didn't get much of during 7 & 8. But nope, Jaune fell, and was a major part of the second half of the volume.

But I also understand why that happened.

Jaune is just one of those characters I can't just be indifferent about. There are characters in RWBY I am so, so utterly indifferent and uninvested in (I won't name them, because I have no interest in character bashing in this particular post), but Jaune...at any given moment I either love him or am annoyed at him.

I know there are people in the fandom who despise Jaune, or are at least sorta sick of him, but I went through my time of being one of those people and I'm glad I'm out the other side of it.

Instead I just think of him, and I think of Pyrrha and how everything ended up so damn awful and hard. I look back at the Beacon arc where he was just an awkward, bumbling dunce. And even though that early version of him makes me cringe when I rewatch those volumes, when I then get to the context of the later ones I simply wish he'd gotten to remain that boy for just a little while longer.

so ive seen ppl talking abt how the crew's in a deadlock abt banishing ed and which ppl they think were pro-banishment and which were against, but the scenes with the crew make it look like everyone's voting for ed to get kicked out. so tbh i think like either of the following interpretations are pretty valid: the crew is split 50/50 on if they should banish ed OR the crew 100% wants to banish ed and stede was gonna try and leverage izzy's vote to try and get more ppl to change their mind. doesnt rlly matter either way tho

also the fact that izzy was the one to keep ed's body is. interesting. the others must've known abt it and helped izzy hide the body in the secret room. but izzy being the one to be like "no we're not throwing him overboard" is. something. no conclusions abt this atm im just rotating this fact in my brain.

i also just have a lot of thoughts abt the mutiny and the fact that like, jim's a trained assassin and the others are also pretty experienced killers and they probably knew they hadn't completely finished the job. and there was plenty of opportunity for them to do something about that. but instead they hid his body and waited for ed to succumb to his injuries. it feels kinda like ed's "technically i outsource the big job" rule. idk. thoughtssss.

[Magi reread; special edition] Episode 1: Aladdin and Alibaba [Part 1]

Lmao, yeah. Ofc I'm also rewatching it. Btw, you'll proobably see some Polish subtitles, sorry in advance. Usually, if I cut some pic, it's because I tried to cut out the subs.

Starting off strong with Aladdin screaming his throat dry (I feel that rn, but also, man, that's some good screaming, I give it to the VA, you can really feel how he's seriously losing it here).

Also, I didn't remember the animation being this pretty. Like, my mind is still on that scene with Ja'far attacking Cassim, and the dart being a bit too slow, which made it look kinda awkward ngl. But, well, first three episodes tend to look best.

But also, in the manga it was less breakdown-y. I actually like how the anime shows more desperation in Aladdin than the manga does, in which he's pretty chill about it all (unless we're shown him losing it in some later flashback, in which case I don't remember.).

Ugo tells him he'll grant his wish, and Aladdin repeats "My wish...?", and is IMMEDIATELY cut by V.I.P.'s "All my wishes are finally within my reach". Say what you want abt the anime adaptation, but that was an awesome choice here.

Overall, there's a bit more interactions with some random people. You get the general impression that Alibaba is pretty well-liked here.

Also, something I meant to point out - I know it's not some ground-breaking discovery, but in the anime you very much get the feel that Alibaba is the protagonist instead of Aladdin, and, yeah. You very much do. Aladdin might've got the first scene, but for some reason you do feel like Alibaba's already got more focus. Though that might be because we learn more about him faster. In the manga Aladdin had an entire chapter to be established as a character first, but here we've got that one (1) scene, and then we have Alibaba working, interacting with others (they comment of how hard he's working), chatting about Budel, and him having a "I'm working to reach my goal" moment, like, that's a lot of information compared to what Aladdin's got. Aladdin meanwhile has only got that breakdown scene, which, honestly, tells us very little about him. Just that he's ectremely desperate to get out, so he was probably stuck there for a long time. Like, it does kind of play well to Aladdin's general mysteriousness, but also makes Alibaba steal the spotlight a bit. Which will be a bit of a trend for at least the first few episodes.

So, a small thing is that Alibaba comes off as a bit more confident here, at least regarding the Dungeon thing. In the manga it looks more like him daydreaming a bit, while here he's like >:/ I'm serious.

Also, now that I think about it, it's another case of the focus being shifted from Aladdin to Alibaba. In the manga in that scene you're watching Aladdin freak out behind Alibaba, whereas here you can actually see Alibaba's expression a bit (not on this photo, sorry), and you can't really see Aladdin's face at all.

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate the ridiculousness of this situation. Aladdin just. Followed Alibaba there. Just like that. They don't even know each other's names. He just followed Alibaba into his house, and ate his apples.

And Alibaba doesn't throw him out for it.

Instead he started to monologue about dungeons, lmao. That's actually another difference - in the manga Aladdin doesn't care about the dungeons and Alibaba's monologue, but here he's actually curious about them, and listens to Alibaba's explanation.

Part 1 of BTS MV outfits

I've been rewatching the BTS music videos and got hyperfixated on their fits so I'm going to judge them. (army please don't come for me this is all in good fun and I'm mostly positive. Sometimes kpop stars do get done dirty with their outfits but it is honestly quite rare with BTS)

Alright here we go

Detailed (ish) thoughts below

First off, No More Dream, We Are Bulletproof pt. 2, and N.O. Picture quality increased a lot throughout the years, so for these early ones I could fit 3 on my canvas. It looks bad, I know, welcome back to low effort photoshop.

For No More Dream we have 2 different fits, and I do really love all of these. Hence the "S" above so many of them. It stands for steal, cause I would wanna wear (part of) these outfits. In the top left, Jungkook's is my favourite, mostly because of the hand jewellery tbh. Jimin's was my least favourite cause it looks like he was here for basketball while the rest planned for skating & graffiti. Again, minor note, considering I really like this style. Just below the top left, I think Taehyung's fit is the best, and Yoongi's shorts-situation looks kinda awkward on him, hence ":/". Also, considering their hair colours, this picture might be from the N.O. era, or even later, but whatever, the outfits fit No More Dream too.

I only found one outfit for We Are Bulletproof, so these pictures are just for a bit of a zoomed in/ zoomed out idea. Gotta say, I don't like these at all. I'm just personally not a fan of gold, and these fits really only belong in 2013. Jin's is my favourite, as it has the least gold. Yoongi's is my least favourite, again because of the awkward shorts-situation. Also yes that says 'rawr xd' for Jungkook's shirt. I mean look at it (though I would wear that shirt ironically).

Hope this was fun for anyone else too! Feel free to completely disagree with me, again, it's just my personal taste. I tried to be decently objective about the outfits, because of course BTS can make anything work, but I would struggle pulling off most of this, especially 10+ years after all these came out.

Last (for now) but definitely not least, because we have quite a few options! N.O.! Starting from the top left, which are my least favourite outfits, but also not really for the MV anyway. I just don't really like the grey jackets, and Tae's fit is just the most generic out of the 4, hence my least favourite. I would absolutely wear Yoongi's or Jimin's fits though, with Jimin being my favourite because I like the shoes more. Besides the outfits being meh this picture is an eyeliner blessing though! Look at those edgy boys :3

Alright, moving down. I think these were for live performances, also not from the MV. They're simple but they look very comfortable. Jin's is my least favourite, though only because it's the most basic, not because I actually don't like it. Besides the necklace I would wear most of those outfits, and I don't care if short sleeves over long sleeves is back in style or not (because I'm questioning it, probably not). Hoseok's is my favourite obviously because of the hands, I am a sucker for fingerless gloves.

Bottom left in this section is also a concept photo, I think? My least favourite is Namjoon, only because everyone else blends in together and he stands out. I get that that's probably the point, but I don't like the fit enough to agree with that being the one to stand out. His hair is cool though. Anyway I don't wear a lot of white, but if I would, these are some fun ones. Yoongi's is quite unique in a more fun way, and I like the bandana, so that's my favourite.

Finally the actual outfits from the MV, the ones on the right. I got 2 pictures because the scene is so white that you can't really tell what's happening with the outfits. Jin's is my least favourite, because the colour of the jacket feels a little off. I wouldn't really steal any of these fits because that's too much white for me, I'm clumsy. But Hoseok's is my favourite, probably again because of the glove thing, and the jacket. Honestly I should examine my obsession with fingerless gloves, I'll find something extremely neurodivergent I'm sure.

Rebels Rewatch: “The Lost Commanders”

After the harrowing peril of the premiere we settle in for a more laid-back and chill adventure with some old familiar faces.

We open with the Rebels discussing what to do next, after the shankening that Vader handed them last episode.

(And let’s appreciate for a moment how, if not for becoming distracted by Ahsoka, Vader would have completely decimated Phoenix Cell in its entirety by himself.)

Ezra blurts out his ideas before remembering that he needs to have a modicum of proper decorum.  (I love his awkward little salute and Sabine shaking her head all cutely long-suffering.)  Clearly he feels comfortable enough to be himself in this formal, militarized environment.

“You are never shy with your opinions, Ezra Bridger,” has all the hidden consternated tones of, “Why did we let this feral gremlin child into the Rebelllion.” lol, Sato is just so confounded that this is his life now, he’s the commander of ragtag teams with literal fifteen year olds.

This episode is the first of what I’m going to affectionately call the “Friendship Fetch Quests”, in which we go have mildly interesting adventures and do something seemingly innocuous that gains us an ally that will wind up being important later.  Season Two is mostly this, if we’re honest.  We go to this location, we do this character’s Loyalty Mission, we gain them as an asset to call upon later.  It fits very well with the overall theme of connection and family, of making friendships and bridges that benefit the cause.  Ezra’s unique Force ability is literally the power to connect, so it makes perfect thematic sense that the show emphasizes the connections made to bring so many disparate people together and unite them in the fight against the Empire.

Anyway, Ahsoka decides to aim the Ghost crew at Rex, not telling Kanan beforehand that she’s sending him to meet some clones which is... a bit of a questionable decision.

“There are questions... questions that need answering.”  Aaaaaand take a shot every time there’s a Lord of the Rings shoutout in this show, we’re gonna be seeing a lot of them.

The fanfare is slightly altered this episode, vaguely TCW-sounding?

The Ghost suffers a Plot Contrivance so that Hera and Chopper can stay in orbit while the rest go down to the planet.  And MY GOSH this is pretty.

I know I keep harping on the soft, watercolor-like quality of the textures but seriously, the Ralph McQuarrie style is all over these backgrounds.

Ralph McQuarrie being one of the original concept artists for the OT; his designs and art style were largely recycled, reused, and repurposed for Rebels.

You can already tell Kanan is suspecting what they’re about to encounter.

Multiple other people have already pointed out that the AT-TE has a lot of Studio Ghilbi Howl’s Moving Castle vibes.  I’m just gonna reiterate them.

I love this moment right here with no music or dialogue, just the soft sound of the wind chimes.  Very zen.  Very lovely atmosphere.

I still haven’t actually seen TCW in its entirety, full disclosure, so I was not nearly as excited about this reveal as the Tari Husband was.

HGKAJHSFKAHSFSA KANAN BEING CONFRONTED WITH A WALKING PTSD TRIGGER FROM HIS PAST AND HIS IMMEDIATE FIRST THOUGHT IS TO STEP IN FRONT OF HIS PADAWAN.

A couple people have pointed it out but Kanan’s posture here is mirrored to Depa’s in the Kanan: The Last Padwan comics.  (AKA the superior tragic Kanan backstory *glares at The Bad Batch*)  One hand forward, one hand with lightsaber back, shielding the padawan.

Love that.

Lol awww, Ezra being excited about the Gen 1 Clone Trooper helmet and then disappointed when Rex tells him not to touch it.

Kinda dig that Ezra’s the one doing the talking.  Kanan has obvious issues with clones but Ezra doesn’t have that bias, and he’s naturally likable, so it’s easy for Rex to give in to him, at least somewhat.

*continues to grumble about The Bad Batch retconning Rex’s characterization here*

No, listen, this is why new writers need to be given refresher courses on the characters before they come on board and shows with interconnected continuities need to have detailed arc and plot maps to follow, sure we can infer and theorize that something or other sapped Rex of his motivation and drive to fight but then that’s fandom carrying the water and doing the work for the writers and I hate that, don’t do the writers’ work for them we deserve better than that!

*ahem*

But I’ll refrain from going into that rant.

Ezra the empath, trying to understand why his master is so agitated.  How he shrinks slightly when Kanan yells.  How Kanan says he doesn’t want to discuss it but does so anyway because Ezra just has that effect on people?

THE ABSOLUTE PAIN AND RAW EMOTION IN KANAN’S VOICE AS HE TALKS ABOUT ORDER 66 AND WATCHING HIS MASTER DIE.

*grumbles a little bit about TCW Season Seven making this line of Rex’s into more of a self-cope than the honest truth*

This whole sequence with the Joopa hunt is technically completely superfluous but it’s soooooo much fun. :D

The camerawork, the dialogue, the animation, the sound design and music, the Old West adventure-feel of it, the badass little moments and characterization bits for Sabine and Zeb and Kanan and Ezra...

It just makes me smile.

Speaking of the music though, this has such a classic Hollywood sound.  Bombastic strings and brass, soaring into high notes and dancing.

(Favorite bit of this sequence is Kanan kick-jumping his rod into Ezra’s hands and Ezra immediately turning around and jamming them both into the line.)

A brief snippet of Ezra’s theme here, when Kanan calls Hera.  I’m actually not going to grumble about Hera’s backstory later being filled in a little, that was undefined enough that the fleshing out didn’t change anything vital.

Instead I’m going to note this very pretty flute line here.

Rex and Ezra’s friendship is criminally underrated.  I bet Rex sees shades of a younger Ahsoka in him and Ezra just sees a cool old guy with great stories, another strong male influence for a teenage boy who needs them.

Ezra still can’t help talking Kanan up though.

As I said, still haven’t fully watched TCW but I do appreciate that Wolffe and Gregor are both obviously damaged by their wartime experiences, Gregor by going just slightly batty, Wolffe by being a paraonoid anxiety wreck, white bites the Rebels when he calls the Empire.  Rex having to remind him, “[The Jedi] weren’t the ones that betrayed us.” and “The war is over.” are like so many self-regulating mantras he must have practiced, to remind both him and the others of the truth.  The chip’s influence lingers, even though they’ve all had it removed.

This sequence is loose with the animation, bouncy like the first season, but the quick movements and shot choices emphasize the frantic nature of them needing to shoot the probe.

A veeery small excerpt of the Imperial March here as we close out.

This episode (and it’s following companion) is soooo rewatchable.  It has the fun chill vibe of the first season with an emphasis on heavier character development and background stakes.  The clones are well-integrated into the plot, used mostly to trigger and discuss Kanan’s personal traumas, while also hinting at the crap the clones have gone through themselves.  There’s an almost self-defensive anger in Rex’s voice when he insists, “I didn’t betray my Jedi. [...] We all have a choice.” because for the clones... they didn’t.

I’m one of the people who likes the chips, who likes it being literally mind control rather than just genetic conditioning that turned the clones on the Jedi, like in Legends.  The way I tend to sum it up is thus:

With Order 66 being just one order in many that the clones followed unquestioningly because they’re just that loyal and obedient, it makes the clones seems more monstrous.  With it being a literal brainwashing device overriding their free will, it makes Palpatine more monstrous.

That he would choose clones instead of droids, because the Jedi would see the clones as human, as friends, as worthy of protecting and fighting alongside, and thus would be more blindsided, and the clones would be loyal and dependable friends right up until the chip kicked in and blanked them out, giving no warning, snaring the Jedi into the perfect deathtrap...

Hgnnnh the feels.

Ezra-as-everyone’s-therapist would continue through the season but for now let me just appreciate that Kanan’s issues are so deeply rooted it takes a few episodes to solve, lol.

Anyway, this episode is great.

Bucky watches as the door closes behind you, now stuck with Loki and not knowing what to say.

A disturbing look crosses Loki's face as he leans back against the sofa. "So... How did you and Y/n become acquainted?"

"Uh," Flashbacks of you threatening to beat your brother with a baguette cross his mind.

Your brother had been teasing you in line of what Bucky now knows as your favorite bakery when you threatened him quite loudly that if he continued, you'd jump the counter and 'shove a fresh, hot baguette up his ass'.

"It's... kinda weird." He settles on.

"Is it the spiders?" Loki inquires.

"The spiders?" He's curious now. "What spiders?"

The green-adorned man chuckles a bit before answering. "They have more spiders than average in their house."

Bucky can't help the laugh that leaves him as he asks, "And what's average?-"

"38." The god's face has lost its humor, going eerily blank.

A moment of silence passes over the two before Bucky breaks it. "I haven't... Seen any spiders..."

"Then you are not looking hard enough."

"I'm not really looking at all," he decides to ignore the accusing tone of the other.

"Good."

More confused than before Bucky asks, "Do... You like there being a lot of spiders?"

"Yes." Loki levels him with a stare as he leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "And I don't like sharing."

Feeling creeped out, Bucky tries to think of a response but before he can, you slip back into the room, a couple of beers in your arms.

"Hey, I'm back, sorry. Hope you guys weren't too awkward."

Sitting back once more, Loki is the one who answers. "It was pretty awkward."

You set the bottles down and a concerned look crosses your face. "Why? What happened?"

You take a seat, glancing between the two.

Loki spares a glance at Bucky. "He said he only hangs out with you because you have an astronomical number of spiders in your house."

His mouth drops open before jumping to his own defense.

"NO! He said that!"

"Why would I say that? I already have all the spiders I could need!"

"What does that even mean!?"

You interject before they get too heated. "Okay, Buck. If you want my spiders you can have them."

To say you're thoroughly confused would be an understatement.

Bucky looks at you, exasperated. "I DON'T! HE DOES!"

"He just said he has all that he needs."

"I do"

"WHY DOES HE WANT A CERTAIN AMOUNT!?!"

This is a more interesting challenge if I limit myself to one per franchise so as to not have loads of Madoka rep, so we're doing one per franchise. Also finding an order for this was fucking hell. Also finding and taking my own good images for some of the girls was also fucking hell. Okay let's go.

5. Cocona Cocomine

It's been so long since I did a top 5 that I don't actually know how to introduce each segment. Anyway we start with Cocona, from Flip Flappers! Really hard not to love Cocona honestly - she's very down to earth and relatable, especially for the genre she operates in, but still ends up on an arc all about becoming proactive in her life and making her own decisions for herself and all that based shit I love a bunch. Being very very cute and very very cool and very very gay on top of that enhances her even further. Watch Flip Flappers.

4. Ami Mizuno

Ami is perhaps the simplest character we'll be talking about today - Sailor Moon of course having quite simplistic character writing and a structure that lends itself less to long form character arcs and more so to just kinda vibing with a familiar cast that don't change all that much, but hey we love that structure a bunch so! Ami is a very smart and sweet and nice girl who's a little socially awkward and struggles to interact with others, but she tries her hardest and people are very touched by how kind she is and it's the best and I love her and the literal best episode of the entire series is about Ami so hey. Also blue is my favourite colour and Ami is one of the most blue girls ever, we love.

3. Fate Testarossa

Fate is similarly a fairly simple character, although hey she does actually have a longer form character arc across s1 of Nanoha and then the rest of the show having actual meaningful timeskips means we get to see what sort of person Fate grows up into as well and it's awesome! Poor little girl was like the sweetest person alive but forced into being a bit of a dick thanks to an abusive mother, though with the help of Nanoha, Fate is saved from her mother and herself, and starts being able to live truly to herself and all that good stuff. From then on she is literally the most genuinely kind and sweet and loving person in the entire fucking multiverse, on top of being an absolute fucking badass too. And then in StrikerS and shit she's just like ready to adopt every single orphan in the universe and she likes to drive cool expensive cars and aaaaaah she's just so cool man. Need to rewatch Nanoha soon.

2. Hibiki Tachibana

I literally don't actually know where to start with Hibiki, right. Because there's literally so much to love that what are you even supposed to say? In many ways she's the genuine platonic ideal of what a magical girl is and should be and ends up being a literal perfect protagonist for Symphogear as a series as well because of that. The character arcs she goes through and how she comes out on top of it all having learned and applied whatever lessons are relevant that season is fucking gripping as shit, by the end of it all we have a girl who's as based as you can possibly get, someone who can create a history with the light God could not know. I absolutely adore her. Also, she punches things. She holds a determination to fist. This is objectively better than any other magical girl weapon and more magical girls need to just literally throw hands. Plus Aoi Yuuki is perfect casting for her and Hibiki is literally one of the best voice performances I've heard in any show ever. Stan Hibiki.

1. Homura Akemi

The sheer baggage surrounding Homura as a character is such that one could very easily write a full length novel going into just her specifically. And I'm not about to be the person doing that! So I'm gonna try keep this brief. In many ways, Homura is kind of the antithesis of everything all these other characters embody and represent, but in many ways she's also a twisted exaggeration of some of those elements too? Hibiki wants to protect Miku so fights gods as an example, meanwhile Homura wants to keep Madoka safe so rewrites the universe and declares herself a Demon for it. Fate did horrible things under her mother, but tried to make up for it through the rest of her life, meanwhile Homura did horrible things trying to help Madoka, and decided that she's evil and doesn't even deserve to stay friends with that same Madoka. At the same time though calling Homura a twisted exaggeration seems unfair since that's just, by and large how she sees herself? Homura is a wounded 14 year old girl who got thrown into an inescapable labyrinthian time loop and got increasingly mindbroken from the whole thing, crushed so deeply by the experience that she doesn't even register herself as human anymore, she can't even think of her feelings as valid. In the truest sense imaginable she is a magical girl operating inside of a perfect yet painful tragedy. It's a tragedy that reveres the magical girl genre but Homura wants to cut herself out of that entire equation, declaring herself an inhuman devil that doesn't deserve Madoka's love. It's tragic. It's painful. It's compelling as all shit though. Homura is nothing like any other magical girl and we adore her for it. Hope in movie 4 she can forgive herself.

Anyway think that's it. Homura in #1 will likely never change but honestly with the rest the order is fairly loose and I might not even agree with it like an hour from now lol. But hey that was fun, ty for asking.

Alex Quackity x Reader, Oneshot!

Summary: The twitter trending page brings attention to some feelings you and Quackity had been avoiding, but it also allows you two to admit said feelings.

As a fairly popular streamer, it wasn't uncommon to see your name on the Twitter trending page every once in a while. However, it had never been for something quite like this.

It was currently trending at #6, viewers going crazy over certain interactions that had happened during Quackity's stream.

Now, it wasn't uncommon for you to be on Quackity's streams, and it certainly wasn't uncommon for either of you to act the way you had acted during that night's stream. But something was obviously different this time around.

The trend was regarding a possible relationship between two content creators in the same community, and consisted of people freaking out over certain clips of that night's stream or other people bringing other clips from months prior explaining their theories on how this has been going on for months now.

It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, seeing the world associate you with Quackity in such a way. I mean, he was funny, and he was certainly attractive. But it didn't make it any less strange.

You had been scrolling through the trending hashtag, looking at the tweets and crazy theories some viewers had come up with, nervously biting at your nails, perhaps a laugh here and there at the tweets that were ridiculously far fetched.

That night's stream was like any other, a casual Jackbox stream with a few other content creators in the same friend group, a rather chill, yet chaotic, stream. It had started perfectly fine until halfway through, the jokes and verses shared didn't seem like jokes anymore, nor did they stop coming. It wasn't weird or uncommon for the viewers to witness you flirting with Quackity or vice versa. But it had never gone to this extent.

It was always a fair balance of "I hate you so much" mixed with flirty remarks here and there. That night's stream had just been nonstop flirting though. And at the moment it didn't seem too bad, it felt natural, you were comfortable behaving that way with Quackity.

After stream ended, everybody had said their goodbyes to each other and you'd gone to lay in bed to use your phone. Only to be slapped in the face with the fact that you and Alex were now trending because people were freaking out over the idea that you two might actually be dating or into each other.

How much of the bullshit you two were saying during the stream was actually real feelings and how much was for a bit? That was Twitter's current Hot Topic.

Watching the clips now made you realize how some were really out of pocket, and things that friends do not say to each other. Your hands moved on their own and soon enough, Bad was on the other end of the line, asking if you were okay.

"Bad," you breathed out after hearing his voice, "The people think Quackity and I are actually dating. Or into each other."

"Mm yeah, I saw on Twitter shortly after the stream ended.." He said, as you gently continued to bite at your nails.

"I.. rewatched the clips and I can kinda see why it was taken that way."

"I mean, it was just for a bit, no?"

"That's the thing."

"It started off as a bit.. but lately it's been happening off stream too and.. I don't know. My feelings are all over the place and I'm just so confused."

Your small ramble was met with silence, Bad trying to do his best with this new information, and scrambling to look for supportive words that could help his friend.

"Oh–" He paused, before continuing, "Have you talked to him? Maybe try and see how he feels about it trending? Or just the fact that people think you guys are dating? His reaction could be telling of how he feels."

Bad's words were ringing against your temple. His suggestion was for you to straight up ask Quackity how he felt about being associated to you romantically. That sounded like an absolute nightmare.

After a few minutes and more reassuring words, the call ended and you felt this sense of courage wash over you. Bad had motivated you enough to feel like you were strong/brave enough to confront Quackity. Before anything could take place, you received a message from none other than Quackity.

It didn't take even a few seconds for your phone to start ringing.

"Y/N" He breathed out, it was obvious that this was affecting him as well. How, exactly? You weren't too sure. He could be bothered at the idea of dating, or maybe he was confused as well.

"They think we're dating." You said softly.

"They do."

There was silence for a bit before you spoke up again.

"And how do you feel about that?"

"I don't really mind it."

His words shocked you, but they came out with the same smoothness you had grown to like over the last few months. It was a tone he only used with you, whether it be during a stream where you two were bickering over stupid shit, or off stream just randomly talking and complimenting the other.

It was the tone he used late at night on call, the tone that sent shivers down your spine, interlacing and dripping down like honey, yet you'd shrug it off, claiming the AC was up too high.

After a moment, you finally respond.

"Yeah? How come?"

"They've thought that for several months now."

"But it doesn't bother you? They're shoving you into a relationship with your friend."

"Does it bother you?"

Silence again.

"No.."

"How come?"

"..don't know."

There was a small pause, you could hear your heart beating rapidly in your ears, scared of what he'd think at the small confession. But he didn't say anything, swiftly changing the topic instead.

"I watched the clips."

"Me too."

"I can see where they got those ideas from."

Silence. Before he continued.

"Y/N, there are clips that are months old. Just you and I flirting with each other. Me offering a kiss, you threatening to take my kiss privileges when I take a joke too far. You telling me to shut up, the random 'I miss you's and interactions on other people's streams, the way your voice softens when you join my late night streams just to talk to me.. so many different things."

As he talked, you couldn't help but close your eyes in- almost shame- nervously biting at your nails as multiple thoughts raced through your head, possible feelings that might have been buried in order to avoid any awkward confrontations. His listing continued and it only made you more anxious.

"I saw them. I saw, Quackity. I'm not fucking blind." Perhaps it came out harsher than you wanted, but he certainly wasn't helping.

His voice softened now, noticing the tone in your voice, but continuing to make his point. "And that doesn't even include the things we say off stream, Y/N."

There was silence ringing through the call once again. It was a moment for both of you to process everything that had been said so far. Try to decipher what it could possibly mean for the both of you.

"What does that mean, Alex?" Your voice no longer held that harsh tone to it, instead there was exhaustion. Having so many thoughts was draining.

"It could mean anything we want it to mean. I'm sorry for pushing all of this on you now, but twitter has just.. let's just say it's got me thinking."

His words made a small laugh escape your lips, and at the sound of your laugh, a small laugh left his lips as well.

"No, it's fine. I've been thinking about it too, and this conversation really helped clear up my confusion."

"What were you confused about?"

"My feelings. Y'know, towards you and stuff." The last part came out more as a mumble as you finally gave your nails a rest, letting your hand fall down onto your lap.

A small hum came from the phone's speaker, as if he was humming in agreement. "Then this cleared up my confusions as well."

Looking at the time, you realized that the two of you had been talking for a while now, and you were definitely feeling exhausted. He probably was too.

"Alex."

"Yes?"

"Thank you. I feel a huge weight was lifted off my shoulders. It was.. nice, talking about this with you."

"I should thank you as well, you really.. opened my eyes."

This earned him a small laugh from you, before you sleepily rubbed at your eyes that were now stinging a bit.

"Lets sleep on it, yeah? There doesn't need to be any.. labels, or anything of the sort. We can figure it out along the way." You suggested.

He didn't say anything for a bit before he let out a small sigh. "Yeah, sounds good. But now that I've sort of acknowledged these feelings I was repressing, I'd eventually like to act on them."

"Of course. I do, too. But I'm just saying.. we don't have to do anything about it now. Lets just get some rest, hm? You sound pretty tired."

You lay on your bed, getting comfy with your blankets, half your face smudged into the pillow, phone resting on the pillow, speaker loud enough for you to hear his response.

"I am pretty tired. Are you going to sleep, too?"

"I am."

"Then.. lets fall asleep on call."

This wasn't necessarily strange, or uncommon. It was just that neither of you had really ever said it out loud, it just happened when you two had talked too late into the night and one of you eventually fell asleep. You felt a warmth spread across your chest, nodding before realizing he couldn't see you.

"We could do that."

There was shuffling at the other end of the line, presumably Quackity getting into bed.

After that, you two continued conversation, small talk regarding whether he had eaten today and what he had done prior to the jackbox stream, until eventually the two of you fell asleep.

There didn't have to be any labels yet, or any announcement to the viewers. What mattered was that you and Alex were comfortable, and that you figured out what both of you wanted, and whether or not it was being together.

You were in it for the long haul, as a friend or as a lover, you didn't know, nor did it matter. All you knew was that as long as Alex Quackity was present, everything would be alright. No matter any labels or Twitter trends.

In fact, perhaps the Twitter trends weren't too bad. It had made you realize your feelings for your cute friend that was now sleeping, on call with you, who knows how many miles away. It was a heartwarming thought.

When it comes to Alex Quackity, it is impossible to not give in at some point. Give in to the possibility of love and friendship. At your own paces.

Sooooo whatya think of the new episodeee?

Oh it’s definitely my favorite episode of the series so far, i was having such a good time at every turn. I’m glad i went out of my way to avoid spoilers, cause i was glad to actually be surprised by some elements on first watch.

I think this had by far the best opening for an episode so far, we finally get back to the villians, we meet the coven heads, we get insight on belos’s plans-

and then belos gets constipated, which starts getting into the more character driven lore, which is the best part. You instantly can tell GG and Kiki have some bit of tension between them to be Belo’s favorite, though granted i wonder if hunter is the only one to know belos is cursed and actually just always insists to help belos with his fits to prevent others from seeing them.

Including kiki.

It’s honestly unclear how aware anyone is that belos is cursed, like him eating pailsmans is apparently not something he hides, but like....i feel him being cursed is something that people would know universally if it got out...so i’m left wondering if anyone knows besides hunter.

Regardless, belos turns into a goop monster with an angry side, and i guess his mask doesn’t transform with him compared to the rest of his body so he breaks it again because i guess he goes though masks like crazy.

Hunter turns away in this scene from his outburst and even though he’s masked here i can already tell he’s most likely pained in these scenes. Like he’s probably seen this happen so many times, and i can’t imagine it gets any easier for him, it’s probably awful to watch belos suffer like this for him (Regardless of the abuse)

And to be honest, it seems pretty painful for him, i think this ep seems to at least confirm whatever this thing is that takes over belos’s body.....belos never actually wanted it in the first place. 

Yeah so after Hunter tells belos there’s not enough trees to medicate him anymore, we’re hit with the “UNCLE”. Which, when i first watched it i needed a second to even process the fact they confirmed their relation.

and i was like “CLOSE ENOUGH”, not his kid but uncle still works just fine for me, i’m just happy my assumption they were related actually came to ahead.

And i rewatched this episode a few times, and on second watch i realized more what happened in this scene. Hunter was talking about his interest in wild magic, and making more pailsman to help belos, and some method that could heal him and as soon as belos looked at him he instantly shut down.

He was clearly rambling about wild magic cures for belos because of his interest in it, and then suddenly remembered his uncle hates wild magic and felt super awkward.

It seems highly likely his interest in wild magic came from trying to cure belos and spending a lot of time reading up on the stuff. 

And then we get hit with the whole “Our family is dead because of wild magic” line, which.....i’m curious to know what happened there. But it does at least explain why belos feels how he does, if wild magic both killed his family beside hunter AND cursed him in the first place. We’re just gonna need more info on what exactly happened.

Also while Belos is def abusive and does not treat hunter how he should, this scene actually does read off to me like belos does care about hunter to some degree. If belos is cursed and his curse works in similar ways to how Eda’s curse works, then it’s worth reminding ppl that eda mentions early this season how stress can amplify the curse even more.

And sure enough, belos goes goopy on hunter’s shoulder all of a sudden when he grasps him. Which could be considered a sign of stress and that the idea of hunter dying or being in danger actually does stress him.

You could very much also assume this is just due to his curse not being fully handled and just getting worse, or that belos only cares about hunter for selfish reasons....but i’m not taking anything off the table here.

Belos can still be a shitty uncle, and still care about hunter, these aren’t mutually exclusive traits. But we need more episodes for now on this.

But anyways he asks hunter if he can rely on him, kiki is pissed......and we move on.

So i’m glad luz’s impulsiveness is addressed a ton in this episode, they actually bring up a lot of good points. That luz has no plan, that the time she’s spending here might render moot if she goes back to earth, ect ect.

Hunter even calls her out a lot later for not thinking things through, it’s a whole deal in this episode. I’m glad it was brought up cause it’s actually worth asking a lot of these things.

the set up here works, they actually made a good reason for why a pailsman didn’t bond with her. Speaking of which the adoption thing is cute and i love it, it’s a great idea. The designs are all very cute and fun.

Bump face reveal was a lot for me to process, but i find the idea of his pailsman being a pet that can help with his disabilities a good idea.

Also like, i did find it odd that they got staffs so early because we’ve never seen kids their ages with them before, but i guess it’s a new tradition? Does everyone at hexside now have one?

Honesty not sure why batqueen left the nest there overnight, i meant i guess she assumed they were safe with that shield but in context i dunno why she didn’t take them home after the school day was over.

but whatever, luz stays there overnight hoping  a pailsman will bond with her and GG just kidnapps them cause of pure luck on his part a bunch of pailsman were in a vulnerable spot tonight.

So GG continues to be charming, by whistling the theme song and then being blasted off his ship hilariously, before cockily teleporting himself right back on it seconds later. Like he and luz have great banter, he’s so extra like this it’s so funny, and god he’s so FAST with that staff it’s scary but so awesome.

Yeah so then hand dragon crashes them and i was so excited cause it meant face reveal. Poor dude looked so in pain and then we find out kiki tried to effing murder him because of course she did. But like, i think killing your boss’s nephew is the WORST way to get a promotion tbh.

(Also i got confused for a bit cause his mask has always been drawn as a mask, but now it’s a helmet in this scene for whatever reason but-)

Anyways, face reveal, Like honestly ppl weren’t too far off with their guesses, really the only thing people didn’t get was the tooth gap (That was fair tho, we couldn’t have guessed that). But it did make him even cuter.

like the banter is funny, he licks her hand, she slaps him, he looks SO pissed at her for this mess.

and i guess that outfit is his under armor apparently.

He’s lucky she didn’t run away immediately and followed him, but maybe he assumed she would since she had no where else to go.

Also his expressions in this ep are glorious, these had to be fun to draw.

Also we find out that the coven team members have never seen his face i guess? They just assume he’s a silly kid and are awful to him, so i guess he’s not only the youngest member of the coven but he never really shows his face much.

(”Call your parents”, ha ha.....whose gonna tell them who his uncle is?)

He is however, REALLY good at parkour and he’s fast even without his staff, so he’s well trained alright.

And then they reveal he’s not magical and i was SO happy cause i was so sure something was up when he wasn’t doing magic like the other witches despite his pointy ears. So they outright confirmed what i thought.

Hunter is pretty smart tho, like he can tell luz wouldn’t hurt him and wouldn’t flee so he knows he has the high ground here. Like he might be being a bit of a dick, but to be fair luz has been nothing but a dick to him throughout the whole episode (Everyone in this episode has been a dick to him tbh)

They team up and i get excited cause i love this kinda stuff and it gets more wholesome because hunter is super interested in her magic, he thinks it’s cool and you can tell how much he actually loves wild magic but then again...shuts himself down because of belos making him fear the stuff.

An then because luz asks, he tells her his backstory.

honestly with how this world treats people who aren’t magically powerful, living and growing up in a world that would find you useless sounds....awful. Hunter must be an anomaly around here, human blood or not.

Luz coming here to learn is different then growing up in a world and being the only one with no abilities and no future without them. Belos provides him with magic and a future, it’s no wonder he stays with him despite everything.

the whole “Found me” thing is weird, cause belos implies they’re blood related and hunter makes it sound like belos semi-adopted him. Which....if he did i dunno why “Uncle” and not “Adopted dad”, but ok....guess that’s for later.

Apparently hunter is important for something tho with the “Titan has big plans for me” thing, not sure what, but-

But yeah as soon as Hunter talked about wanting to make his own future and Rascal tried to land on him i knew EXACTLY where this was going, it was so cuteeeeee. The lil birb wanted to be with hunter, that’s so wholesome.

And he’s so terrified because of belos and what wild magic did to him, the poor bab.

But yeah, luz then trusts him with his staff back, because again....impulsive. But hunter does actually ask if she’s sure, so he might as well be asking if she trusts him.

The plan goes ahead, and hunter nearly betrays her.

though granted, hunter never promised her he’d stop and let her take them away, the truce was supposed to last till kiki was stopped and they were gonna fight out who got the pailsman. But it does bother luz cause she was hopeful he was better then this.

But just like he did before, she calls him out and he doesn’t betray her, because he’s ALSO too nice to do it, just like he said she was. He says his name (Which also took a moment to process), and then beats the crap out of kiki while letting luz get away and protecting her like a badass.

He might not have magic, but he’s good at fighting

like he can easily teleport to luz and take the pailsman, but he doesn’t, he lets them get away and luz knows this. Even though she also knows hunter has to go back to the emperor too and they have to separate.

It’s only slightly bitter terms, because in the end he came through for her and she knows it.

honestly, the worst part is i can’t even be mad at hunter for it, i’m sure he was terrified to fail belos. Both because he loves him and doesn’t want him to suffer....but also because of well...being punished. Really says something when his near betrayal doesn’t even make me mad at him, and i can understand why he nearly did it.

He let her go, knowing he’d be in SERIOUS trouble and that it would hurt someone he actually loves, so....ouch.

so yeah at this point i knew rascal wanted him so it was only of matter of what happened next.

Which was, luz getting the wood, which i like more anyway. Eda and King doing this offscreen and coming home like this is actually very funny, and honestly i appreciate the message of it being ok to wait.....means a lot to me.

yeah so belos is like...being an ass, like the kid tried his hardest, you don’t need to hit him with the “Is this the thanks i get?”. He’s a kid and he’s trying to cure you you dick, give him a break he doesn’t remotely have to help you like this.

Also apparently belos has not even told hunter HOW this happened, like...dude. Hunter is trying to be entirely reasonable here and belos spikes at him, which does imply some physical abuse though the only reason hunter doesn’t get a new scar is because he moves.

but how he reacts implies this has happened before, he is bracing for impact and he flinches. It’s pretty sad tbh, especially since hunter loves him and belos’s respect means something to him.

Belos is such an idiot, like c’mon dude, hunter is trying to help you and you don’t listen to him you dick. Kid shouldn’t have to say sorry for anything he did nothing wrong, he was just trying to help.

Anyways, he gloats at kiki (So at the very least she knows what he looks like under the mask), which he deserves a chance to do anyway. So i guess he didn’t rat her out for trying to kill him, personally my guess why is blackmail.....he was gonna hold it over her head to keep her from doing it again and threaten to tell belos.

But kiki quickly tells he LET the pailsman get away since he was the one to fight her (Curse his cute loose hair strand). So i guess now they have dirt on each other, so that’s fun.

His room is adorable, though the med kit by the bed is concerning.

Rascal comes for him and it;s so cute....though you can tell hunter nearly hurts him on instinct because of force of habit, but it’s so cute how he cares and how the birb loves him and is his new staff.

it was well hinted to as well, it’s so subtle, but the bird being cheery, curious, and his constant habit of escaping boundaries was perfect for hunter. He represents what hunter wants to be and why they got matched is done so well, all without explaining anything.

Hunter indirectly stated his deepest wish, to make his own choices, and rascal resonated with that. 

can’t wait to see where this goes.

Dating Headcanons for Aomine and Kagami

In honour of my dear friend Jackie @todorokibois​ finishing her rewatch of Kuroko no Basket, and the accompanying Ace Brainrot she has as a result, I have made this. Is it stupid long? Yes. He has the emotional awareness of a brick wall so he's not exactly the most in tune with his or others feelings

It would take quite a bit for him to even realize he has feelings for you

All those feelings he was denying or ignoring hit him hard and all at once

As if Daiki got hit by a bus (a bus made of feelings)

Once he has acknowledged that he likes you

Well, then he gets a little more awkward

But her suggestions largely consist of classic and almost stereotypical wooing gestures

So with her generic advice in mind

He will buy you flowers and ask you if you would meet him for coffee at "that one place you say you like"

(Like he totally doesn't remember the exact name, location and your regular order after you mentioned it a couple times)

Once you'd get there he would have your drink already ordered, with a nice snack for you there too

And as you sit down to chat and eat, he would hand you a nice bouquet of your favourite flowers

And ask you if you would like to go on a date with him sometime

If you don’t want to see a flustered Daiki, don't mention how this meetup for coffee could be a date.

He will have steam coming out of his ears, because he will internally malfunction.

Daiki will actually be genuinely suave once he figures out he doesn't need to be so performative all the time

You like him for him, not because he acts like a character from a shojo

Honestly there's nothing he enjoys more in this relationship then getting to see you smile

Listens to you so well, he is always attuned to you.

He will play every gift he gives you off as if he didn't remember you talk about how much you loved that piece jewellery because it reminded you of something a character wore in a few episodes of your favourite childhood cartoon one time 2 months ago

And he definitely didn't pick up extra jobs in order to get the cash to pay for it

No way, it was completely a coincidence.

As you may have guessed, the ever blunt and arrogant Aomine Daiki's love language is gift giving

He just wants to see you smile

And if making or buying you a little trinket just because it reminded him of you will do that then so be it

Daiki would honestly pay any amount of money or spend any amount of time if it meant he could make sure you felt loved

Dates are often spent with the two of you just chilling around the house

Netflix and take out on the couch while you wear your PJs? His favourite way to spend a Friday off

Dates where he tries to make you dinner from scratch? Yes please, he wants to impress you through your taste buds. (Which doesn't always work the way he wants)

But he does love to take you out for lunch or dinner

He will offer to pay for everything anytime you go out

Speaking of paying even if you insist on going Dutch

He is absolutely going to attempt to pay before you can even get your wallet out

It honestly becomes a game for you two to see who can pay for dinner first.

The only time he actually lets you pay on a date if say you're going to be driving some distance for a special date

Then he's chill if you pay for the snacks while he pumps gas on your way to that festival in the next city over you both wanted to attend.

He tries so hard to be a gentleman around you

You make him more humble, and he wants to be the best version of himself possible for you. Because you make him want to put in the effort to better himself.

But all that goes out the window the moment you attend one if his games

Then his usual attitude gets even worse, he becomes an actual monster when he plays on the days you watch

The pride he feels when winks at you as he scores the final basket of the games.

Its subtle but its his way of saying "See that babe? That was for you"

This man also lives for post games smooches

His team hates it (they're jealous because you two are so damn cute)

But he will always press his forehead to yours, and ask breathlessly if he can kiss you

Once you say yes, he leans in slow and with a ghost of an I love you resting on his tongue shows you just how he feels

His hands steady on your waist, holding you close as his lips press against yours and takes your breath away. The way you some how always manage to take his away every time he looks at you

When he pulls away for a breath, your noses touching, your lips still millimeters apart, he will tell you that he loves you

All in all, he may not know exactly what he's doing, but man is Aomine Daiki in deep. He wants nothing more than to be the light in your life that you've become for him. Please take care of this Ace's heart, he's trying his best for you.

Taiga is genuinely intense when he likes you

To the point where the moment he knows he likes you, you know too

Now to other people they may think its embarrassing, but he honestly doesn't care

Once Taiga's sure of his feelings for you the man could care less if other people knew

Because why should he hide away how he feels for the sake of other people

Arm wrapped around your shoulder as you walk beside him

Always offering to help you out even if it makes him go far out of his way

Actually telling you straight to your face that he's doing all these things because he has feelings for you and wants you to reciprocate them

Taiga really can be a tactless dumbass sometimes but, hey at least its cute how he's trying to woo you

No he saves that for when he's sure you reciprocate those feelings

Because let's face it, if Taiga likes you, you're most likely already his friend

So when he attempts to pursue you romantically, it is literally everything you could want

He'd honestly know just how to not only fulfill the things he knows you want and even daydreamer about having in a partner while still making it genuine to who he is as a person

Now his love language is absolutely Quality time

So when you two are hanging out together, you have his undivided attention

Taiga honestly would schedule time in his training regiment's schedule when he's preparing for tournaments

Even if its just a 30 minute phone call

He sticks to it

And when you do start dating, he ensures that you go out on a date once every two weeks, minimum

Stay in dates are accepted and appreciated

In fact it was on one of those stay in dates where he asked you to be his significant other

He also texts you quite a bit

Even if its just to say "I know you're busy but make sure you remember to stay hydrated"

When you do go out, its usually to do some fun or spontaneous event

A pottery class? Sure why not

Rock climbing at a gym? Let's try it out, maybe you'll even catch each other falling so you can make a corny ass joke

A Tango class? Why not! It could even help with his footwork in basketball

Taiga just wants to spend time with you so he s down to try anything you want at least once

So as long as you're excited for it he'd be happy to accompany you

Even if its just to go get groceries.

He's not terribly jealous by himself, but sometimes if you're out on a date and he's feeling like he hasn't seen you enough in recent weeks

He might steal your attention back from whomever you were speaking with.

Will take you to professional level basketball games

Heck one time you two went to see the Harlem Globetrotters and it was one of the best nights of his life

The both of you were amazed by the tricks and laughing along with the jokes.

You both even got a signed ball after one of trick shots ricocheted off the rim of the basket hit him on the head.

You two have a custody agreement for that ball by the way

But hey that was the risk of sitting court side, and at least it was a great memory

By the time you two left the gym, your cheeks hurt from smiling so widely

And as you two discussed the event as you walked back to his car, the streetlights hitting your face just right

In that moment he realized that he was absolutely and intensely in love with you.

It was honestly really sweet. But did he tell you how he was feeling? N o p e

But speaking of basketball

You are invited to every single one of his games

He wouldn't be mad if you couldn't come to every one, but he hopes that you would come support him at his big tournament games

On the days you go, he plays about 1000 times better

Riko loves those days because he listens to her and the Hyuga when they propose strategies without complaint

She especially likes it because he never loses when you show up

Yes she does ask you to go to every game and practice Seirin has.

And after every game, he takes you out for dinner. Even if its just at a 24 hour fast food joint. You two share a meal after each and every game you attend

He honestly looks forward to those times more than the actual games sometimes

Taiga isn't the type for extreme PDA but you bet your ass he loves to kiss you

No matter where you are, if you’re out together, he's giving you kisses

His hands resting on your cheeks, delicately stroking your skin with his thumbs

As he tenderly presses his lips to yours, passion and adoration oozing from his kiss

Because even though he has a hard time saying how much he loves you

The emotions he can't quite find the right words to say all come through with every press of his lips against your skin

All in all, dating Taiga would be fantastic, he's caring, considerate and always confident in both you and the relationship.

Now let's start off by saying Taiga becomes so much more jealous when he realizes Daiki is also pursuing you

The pair immediately turn it into a competition

If one of them buys you lunch, the next day the other is taking you for an expensive dinner

Taiga asking you to go to one of his games again? Sorry Daiki already asked you to go to his on that day

Daiki asking if you wanted to watch a movie at his place? Nope! Taiga bought & gifted you tickets for the concert your favourite band was putting on and had asked you to go with him months ago

Lord help you if they're playing against each other

Both will show off to the point its detrimental to their teams

You thought they were intense before? HAH! The tension between them is almost crushingly heavy now
