The absolute silence today is gut wrenching. Leaflets were dropped on the west bank telling palistinians to go to Jordan. Last time they told them to go south and they got bombed. Everything about Palestine has suddenly dropped off trending and we know that staff has been suppressing the tags #free palestine and #palestine. Now its has to be every single tag that was trending, because i just simply do not believe we stopped talking about it over night. I feel so hopeless about this shit but the only thing we can do rn is to not stop talking. We have to stop trying to bury our heads in the sand and keep posting as if it was normal because its not normal. Palestinians don't get a break from the horror, the least we can do for them is to make sure their suffering isn't silent.

Do you guys notice how when Shawn Fain, president of the United Auto Workers union, started planning a general strike, he did it by a) targeting his messaging towards unions with the ability to safely and effectively strike in large numbers, b) laid out a clear, actionable plan for those unions to follow (setting contracts to all expire at the same time, since many unions cannot strike while under contract), c) is using union contracts to set clear, actionable demands that can be met in order to gauge success and provide an end goal, and d) started organizing FOUR YEARS before the proposed strike date to give people the chance to plan accordingly, because it takes a really freaking long time to get tens of millions of people organized?

You notice how he didn't do it by slapping a message on Twitter saying 'hey nobody go to work on Monday, that'll really show 'em'?

Tried to cheer myself a little, so I played a little with a design of my character from Curse of Strahd campagin. So here he is - Niel is a bard (college of spirits) who runs a funeral home with his family.

And let me tell you. This man loves making funerals.

He also has a deck of cards with spirits. I had an idea to make them ghosts of people(and animals too) who had some importance in live of my bard, and he made them meaningfull funerals.

And yes, he "stole" a jacket from Strahd's castle (from a corpse to be specific. He also stole some cutlery, but thats another story)

This made me a perfect oportunity, to give the lego Niel I made, a cape from Strahd's minifigure~

And here is Niel, and his amaizing beautiful team (we've got Esmeralda as our NPC). I love all of them.

I've been reading The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon. I'm not the fastest reader so expect my takes in... A while lol.

But it is. SO. REFRESHING. To read a high fantasy novel in which many of the characters are grown ass adults with grown ass adult problems. I can't imagine reading a book of this length and complexity if all of the characters were in their late teens and early twenties.

Ead is 26. Sabran is 28. Loth is probably in his fifties and Roos seems to be in his 50s or even 60s. Kit is probably of similar age. But you also have Sulyard who's 18. Tané is also pretty young (about 20?).

It's NICE. It's great. The diversity of cultural inspiration, of theme, of character's age and maturity, of skin tone. Everyone is going on their various adventures and it's done so well.

I'm engaged with all of them and their experiences. I can appreciate Sulyard 's idealism, Ead and Sabran still growing but also being grown. Loth and Kit and Roos being too damn old for this shit but still getting caught up in things and still gaining new life experiences in their middle(?) age. Tané coming of age.

I want to spend time with all of these people, not just as an escapist, but also just as a reader experiencing a novel and that's A Big Deal for me.
