i know just enough lua to do basic configuration of nvim plugins xD though i try to take the "learn programming, not languages" approach and bs my way through things. given i'm pretty comfortable in python (if not always idiomatic 🤷) i could definitely try all 3 of these. herbstluftwm having some similarities to i3 and blending both manual and auto sounds nice for me.
rofi as a visual interface between you and your wm is both cute and infinitely customisable ! <3 there's a python module (ofc there is xD ) for it that i've used to write a script that handles things like a pinned/favourites application list, i3 scratchpad list, and i3 layouts list. they're enumerated and pressing the corresponding number will focus that application (if open), launch it (if not), or open a nested menu (eg for browser profiles or music players).
so i'd probably use something similar to manage layouts if i went for herbstluftwm.
i appreciate the suggestions !!! ^w^
tiling users !! hello hi i love you <3
i got a question about workflows, specifically use of workspaces/tags/virtual desktops. screen/tmux/dvtm users, my beloved terminal freaks, this includes you !!
this does NOT include aerosnap, sorry not sorry.
answer for your typical workflow on your main machine :3
