"rebelle painter has an in depth brush engine to simulate traditional painting techniques" is all well and good until you only use your digital painting method. at least the impasto is really pretty
#hi IRL if you see this i PROMISE i am going to start the commission i am just so procrastinationpilled#hermitcraft#goodtimeswithscar#hermitcraft s10#at least it's trying to be?? i kinda saw the leather get-up again and gave him leather chaps as i blacked out (/d)#if the quality is weird in some places blame the fact that i'm new to rebelle and the fact that i shrank the canvas down a lot to stop lag#this program is slightly a nightmare but i will get used to it... i will brave it for such nice textures#art out the oven#[scheduled]

maybe this is what regis was up to between the stampede in the refugee camp and meeting milva and cahir in the woods

The Costume Choices for Villains in 2000s and 2010s in fantasy and loosely historical films really did something for me.
I love the aesthetic. Prefer fake leather for wearing though. As a filmmaker it's visually rewarding the way it catches light.
Also rewatching Guy or Gisborne YT edits is definitely helping me write Thorin under Influence of Dragon Sickness for Chapter 2 of "Burglar of Mine" a Bagginshield Time Loop botfa fanfic

Mary I of England, 1516-1558 and Philip II of Spain, 1527-1698
Artist: Anonymous; British school, probably after Lucas de Heere
Date: 16th century
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London, United Kingdom
Description
This double portrait is a copy, though with some differences, of the panel painting of 1558 at Woburn Abbey, traditionally ascribed to Lucas de Heere.
Mary is seated full-length on the right, facing to the left in a black overdress with fur on the sleeves and gold brocade embroidered underdress, with the headdress of the 1550s. Her facial characteristics, which do not resemble other portraits of Mary, have been intentionally idealized to flatter the sitter. Philip is standing on the left facing to the right in a black doublet and hat and white hose. He is wearing the Order of the Garter. The couple are portrayed in a room, physically separated by a window with an open casement, through which is a view of St Paul's and the Thames.
Mary became Queen of England and Ireland in 1553. The following year, against the advice of her councilors, she married her first cousin, Philip of Spain, son of the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. The inclusion of two chairs of estate indicates the fate of several nations attached to this union. In a dynastic gesture, Mary holds a rose in her right hand as she sits beneath the arms of England. Philip stands in front of his throne. The inscription above the open window, though not entirely legible, celebrates the extent of the sitters' combined domains.

Will probably never draw those tattoos again (thank you duplicate layer 🙏), but I rewarded myself with pseudo-blacklight.
Anyway, I'm calling this done, I only started it in August ( ̄y▽, ̄)╭
#kirehn draws#digital art#character art#fhr#sidestep#pk:ocs#pk:gale#I'm sleepy no brainpower for categorical tags#ever work on something for so long that it starts to look wrong#not BAD per se but off like it's not how it would look if you started it now? I checked and I started this canvas 5 months ago _(:'з」∠)_#was originally planning a turnaround reference but. no. I am tired. none of us will ever know what those things look like from behind#turns out I have a brush for plaid from a texture pack but it's just so much more satisfying to do it yourself#also fun fact: I didn't mean to shade this at all but when I tried to give the jacket a leather texture I kind of oops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#and I can't have just one part shaded so then I shaded everything else#and then I turned the jacket layer back on and realized my light source was on the other side (👉゚ヮ゚)👉

#warhammer rogue trader#pasqal haneumann#pasqal rogue trader#when i say its been bothering me. know i am too well informed about fabrics and sewing#so i need it to make sense. it cannot be one layer it just doesnt make sense#and [youre seeing my madness now] it SEVERELY bothers me when tech priests dont wear canvas or leather#i am sorry they are NOT going around in lightweight cotton. and have you seen how much oil stains they do not wear velvet or silk either#most insane hc ever: i dont think theyve reinvented polyester yet in 40k. i just cant see it#its like any other oddly specific fabric lost through time#archaeotech yet to be figured out..........#anyway pasqal wears thick leather abel wears stiff canvas thats worn out through the years to be softer
