my brother said he would co sign for me. ok guys should i go for the $1000/mo room with the overly talkative music teacher and two other women or the random guy who may have been flirting with me's room for $700. or should i hold off on choices until i hear back from option 3 which i think is also $1000 and more private and much better commute but would not allow any pets and idk what her application process and requirements are like when i think i've got a good chance with the other ones.

as much as the doctor was open with rogue, flirting & suggesting they travel together i do think that was in some way a daydream. something he might not have been very serious about even if he wanted to be. ‘i might take you one day,’ wrt gallifrey i feel was very accurate to that imo. i think it’s a daydream that the doctor might not have been entirely serious even though he wanted to, same with when they were about to kiss on the tardis & the doctor was easily distracted once the device was ready. even though the ring was a performance the doctor clearly froze at that moment, both because of his grieve over river imo & just fear of pain wrt the possibility of anything going wrong.

i think in a big way the doctor was able to accept the ring once rogue was gone because there was less of a chance of getting hurt. in a big way the ‘so many dimensions’ was in a way an excuse easier to deal with the loss now than trying to hope

i do think once the doctor meets with him again he may be very hesitant as much as he wants to not be.

i keep thinking about this because it's still some embedded biased ideas projected onto artists, except now THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE?!?! elvis was met with judgement and scrutiny for his style (sartorial and musical), his fashion and presentation were deemed a threat by some, due to stringent concepts and preconceived notions about sexuality/race/gender, and it was later weaponized against him for other unkind reasons. but those with that more biased mindset are still doing that to people, except now it's ALSO being perpetuated by many who ought to understand acceptance and why the blurring and breaking of those rigid boundaries and boxes is important. make it make sense.

i defaulted on my debts 3+ years ago so no companies can sue me for them so there is no point paying them since they're charged off and doing so will not affect my credit score... so i'm just waiting until they fall off and am going to try to rebuild my credit a little w/ a secured card in the meantime. kind of wild

Don't ask, "How was prison?" (Answer: traumatic!)

Do ask, "What are you most looking forward to doing again now that you're out?"

Don't ask, "How long were you in for?" (Answer: too long!)

Do ask, "Is there any technology or pop culture I can help catch you up on?"

Don't ask, "How are you going to avoid getting back into bad behaviors?" (Leave the paternalistic bullshit to their PO.)

Do ask, "How's your support network? Do you have people helping you adjust?"

Don't ask, "Do you have a job yet?" (Their PO is asking them ALL the time, don't worry.)

Do ask, "Are there any opportunities I should keep an ear out for and let you know about?"

Don't ask, "Do you have an ankle monitor?" (And definitely don't ask to see it - no one likes to be gawked at.)

Do ask, "Do you have parole restrictions we need to accommodate when making plans?"

Don't say, "Hey, you shouldn't be doing that - it's against your parole!" (A lot of parole restrictions are bullshit, and they are an adult who deserves agency, even the agency to take risks.)

Do ask, "Are there any bullshit parole restrictions you need help working around?"

Don't ask, "Are you an addict?" (Not everyone in prison is, and they'll tell you if they want you to know.)

Do say, "If there's stuff you might get in trouble for, like empty alcohol containers, I can throw them away at my place."

Don't say, "It's probably best if you put your whole prison life behind you and start fresh." (Just because it was traumatic doesn't mean important experiences and relationships didn't happen there.)

Do say, "If you have letters from friends on the inside that you don't want your PO to find, you can keep them at my place."

Don't say, "You paid your debt to society." (Regardless of what they may have done, harm cannot be repaid through senseless suffering.)

Do say, "You are more than the worst thing you've ever done."

Do not ever ask "What were you arrested for?"/"What did you do?"/"Were you guilty?"
