Your relationship with Loid is complicated, a marriage of convenience between the two of you to raise a child you suspect is not even his. ramble of my scattered thoughts on the piece under cut as usual cuz i love talking 😋

This has been an idea I've been cookin for a while, and it was so cluttered and unlike any other ensemble piece I've made... and I decided I oughta do it anyway. I love Miku, I love Vocaloid, and I wanted to do something really ambitious and crazy for her anniversary. Crazy that she's turning her "canon" age this year TwT

I had the idea floating around since like, May...? And then finally started acting on it around June 18. I'm terrible with deadlines, obvious with how I can never make a silly birthday post in time, so I started wayyyy ahead to make sure I have some room to be lazy lol, especially with an idea as ambitious as this.

This was finished on July 12! So I had to sit on this for an annoying amount of time. Very difficult for someone like me who just wants to talk about everything I'm working on to the masses. But at the very least, that gave me the time to work on the draft for this post.

Here's some ~behind the scenes~ scribbles leading up to the finished piece!

Left is the chicken scratch plan i made in my handy dandy notebook (whenever things are getting real and ambitious, i always made a rough ROUGH plan in there. Usually I'd do a rough pass of the full thing, but this was too complicated for me to do traditionally. I majorly benefited from digital tools to make this possible). CyberDiva and CyberSongman were considered, but I ended up cutting them cuz I just didn't feel like drawing them sorry-- (just pretend they're off to the side. They gave Ruby and Clara the pizza lol). Right is the "final" completed sketch (before I decided to include Chika mid-way through coloring and VY1 and VY2 near the finish line). I started by drawing the main "groups" separated on a different canvas so I can plop them into the main canvas for easy rearranging and transforming. However I got lazy and ended up drawing everyone in the bottom right corner directly on the canvas since I liked seeing the big picture of everyone's positions. Y'know.

Almost excluded Chika! But I like her design so much that I just felt like including her last-minute. You win this time, Chika fans. VY1 and VY2 were very close to being cut! I added them when I began doing the banner and thought "eh why not". I figured their non-human designs would be pretty easy to include pushed back in the bg. Ik VY1 is more commonly associated with the fan design, but I referenced the hairpin cuz it was simpler and the fan looked very annoying to draw 😭

Sorry to the fans of many Vocaloids I had to cut because this composition was insane enough as is. I promise I wanted to include fellas like CUL, LUMi and Sachiko 😭 I will admit I was a little biased on who I wanted to include over others. Like, I don't normally care for Bruno and Clara, but I wanted to get some more international 'loids in the mix. Also wanted to stick in the realm of official designs and not fan-designs since, as much as I can appreciate those, are just a whole "wait who is that guy supposed to be" situation I didn't wanna deal with. I also did wanna include even more character references through the balloons, but they ended up being kind of ugly and overcomplicated the BG :,) (Oh, and while this was originally planned to be a Vocaloid-only piece, I did end up including Teto, Neru, and Haku 'cuz those are Miku's besties dude!!! They may not be Officially in the club but they're her girls and it would be criminal to not invite them to her birthday).

Anyway, this project marks the first time I've drawn a lot of Vocaloids. Lily, Piko, Rana, Yuki, Yukari, Miki, Maika, and many more lol. All of 'em I've heard or seen in passing, but now I actually drew them, and some have really cool and fun designs!! I got into a habit of drawing Merli after this since I just love her design for example. And I'll probably be drawing more lol!!

Oh and the last thing I'll add for now!! The cake is indeed made up of various song references!! I wanted to reference the "big four" producers, just absolute icons in Vocaloid history. The pink/black checkerboard is "World is Mine" (Ryo), the crescents on the side is "Rolling Girl" (Wowaka), the smiley faces is "Matryoshka" (Hachi), and the three hearts on the side is "The Vampire" (DECO*27, which is sort of a symbol of his whole Mannequin album tbh). I know "The Vampire" is a bit modern but I couldn't think of anything else off the top of my head. I'm a fake DECO fan I know 😔 "Matryoshka" was originally going to be referenced in the colors of the candles but believe me it looked like shit so I just went for something else last minute 😭

OKAY OKAY TIME FOR THIS ANIME ONLY TO ANALYZE THE POSTER!!

(Reminder that I don't want to be spoiled or even teased about more stuff on it. I have been spoiled for a few things, but I won't mention them here in case another anime only finds this post :D)

First impression is that it's way darker than the posters for other seasons! I'm not surprised given the spoilers I've gotten for the upcoming arcs. The bright spots and focus are Anya and Bond sleeping peacefully; the thing Yor and Loid are working hard for.

The most glaring detail, the lights creating a star with them in the middle! Reference to a Stella, but also...

a Tonitrus bolt on the side! Interesting!

The light sources are from out the door, a flashlight, a model school bus, a flower-y like bedside lamp, and something behind a curtain.

Outside the door we spot Yor and Loid, presumably after bidding Anya goodnight. And right next to the door!

A helmet with a "W" (Westalis?) on it, a hand-written notebook, and a tag of sorts? It looks like it's ripped in the middle, but I can't make what it's supposed to be used for. Due to spoilers, though, I know what the helmet is referencing.

Underneath that, two pillows, two books, and an onion.

I'm guessing the books are referencing Anya's studying? I can't even begin to guess what the pillows and the onion are there for. I mean, the pillows could just be there to show it's Anya's bedroom (although the wallpaper shown here is the one used in the Forgers' living room, not the one in Anya's room), but the onion??

But then, there's books closer to Anya that look more like schoolbooks, so the two in the above picture are probably a reference to something else?

A handkerchief with a "V" (I think) on it, a Tonitrus bolt, schoolbooks, a pencil, and a formal pair of shoes and a shirt for Anya, thrown around haphazardly.

The more I look at it, the more confused I get, lol.

A suitcase, a bedside lamp that I can't remember seeing in the anime before, a pair of sunglasses, three identical small books (notepads?), a wallet (?) with a folded piece of paper in it, and a lion plushie.

I can't really tell what that object on the far left is. I could say it's one of Becky's hairpins. A small award ribbon?

Anyway. A model car, a model schoolbus, three crumpled-up pieces of paper spilling out of an overthrown trashcan, and two packages of... a candy, or something? One is ripped at the side, the other from the bottom. There's even a tiny crumb under the latter. They were not opened by the same person.

Under them is a fallen chair, another book (I think), and a hat. Nothing rings a bell, unless we connect the chair with the way the manga volumes have featured designer chairs on the covers.

A box of snacks, a rose having fallen from a vase, crayons thrown around, and the most glaring thing here: a student card (?) with what appears to be Becky's picture, with a note stuck on it that says SOS. Interesting.

I could guess that the rose may be referencing Yor, but it's too vague for that. Anyway!

Final details, another pencil, a display of sweets that have been eaten from, a cup of tea, a burger with coleslaw (???) very emphatically off its balance... or is that also onions? lol

Next to that are gift boxes (with sweets? they look very formal) and a volleyball.

The gifts and the teacup seem to be the only objects in the entire room that are not in disarray.

Overall, wow! So many details that I'm sure manga readers can decipher, and I'm just here wondering what each part could mean. I'm quite interested in the light sources. I get why one of them is from Yor and Loid's side, and due to spoilers I know why the school bus is another, but I can't tell anything about the other light sources. The flashlight could mean a nature trip? Or a blackout? The bedside lamp has a very specific design and it's not one from the Forger household. The light behind a curtain could be a reference to secrets? How Anya knows everything due to her mind-reading, and has been knowing everything (and helping) behind the scenes?

Anyway, that's a lot! Though there has been no announcement for a date, it's great news that we even got a poster! Since it's supposed to mean Season 3 is in production... I could hope for a spring of 2025 release? I'm starting to doubt it'll be out by this October, since last year at this point in time we already knew Season 2 would be coming last October. I think spring 2025 is a doable prediction.

Spy x Family Animation Art Book scans - part 2

Today I'm back with a few more scans from the Animation Art Book! If you haven't seen the first page of scans I made from this book, click here. Since many of the character design pages in this book are similar to the ones from the cour 1 season 1 artbook, I'm mostly going to skip these, so be sure to check out the previous scans here and here if you haven't already!

While the main feature of the book is character and setting designs, it also contains a lot of miscellaneous, "niche" images that only briefly show in the anime but are interesting if you stop and look at them. One of my favorites is of course Loid and Yor's (fake) marriage certificate and the doctored up photos in their living room. Obviously WISE/Twilight must have some advanced photo editing technology since Photoshop shouldn't exist when the series takes place 😅

Next is some examples of Anya's handwriting and schoolwork, as well as the cipher she and Yor make in mission 20. It's a bit hard to make out, but it looks like she spelled her name "Ania" in the mission 4 example but maybe started spelling it the right way in the mission 24 example? As for those notes at the top from mission 20...is that Bond in the lower right corner? 😂 I can just about make out the first question on the mission 4 paper - it says "Solve if you can understand the clock." The rest says something like "When * will * two hours * effect the current time?" And it looks like her answer is..."Time"? 😅

In contrast, here's some examples of Damian's tests that Daybreak tampered with in mission 18. I'm not gonna bother to check if his math is correct...I'm assuming all or most of it is! I also couldn't help but notice his answer on the cake question, "How many cakes are left?" - instead of just putting "4" he writers out, "There are 4 left." What an overachiever 🤣

Here's a few more scribbles from Anya's notebook, but more interestingly, the Eden schedule of classes. I wonder what the class "Theme" is. And they have to share a poem every morning? I'm surprised we haven't seen one of Anya's poems yet!

And lastly, I wanted to share two character pages for Bond and Fiona since they're didn't feature in the previous book.

Nyx communicates telepathically.

Banshee actually 'talks', but by manipulating the sound waves around her so it comes out of every nearby object except her.

Octavia drops some hype or sad beats depending on her mood.

Lavos has his snakes talk for him.

Yareli, Citrine and Gara make word-shaped bubbles / crystals / glass shards.

Sevagoth doesn't talk. He's too socially anxious.

Yor put the plates away after washing them, when she heard a loud sigh. She looked at Anya, who was sitting at the dining room table doing her homework. Her head was resting in her hands and her hair was falling in front of her face, preventing Yor from seeing if she was okay or not. She walked towards the dining room, worried.

“Anya ? Is everything alright ?”

Anya raised her head, she was on the verge of tears.

“I don’t understand it. I've been trying to do this exercise for almost an hour but I still don't understand !”

Yor rushed to her to comfort her. She hated seeing her like this. Each time, it broke her heart, even if it was because of an exercise she did not understand.

“What exercise is it ?”

“Math.”

Anya turned the book towards her and Yor frowned. Usually, it was Loid who helped her with math, but he had called them to tell them he would be home late from work. He had to take care of a difficult patient and he did not know when he was going to get back. It does not matter, Yor thought. She could help Anya. After all, it was an exercise for ten year olds, it should not have been very complicated. She took Anya's book and began to read the wording.

Yor crossed out what she had just written. She and Anya were surrounded by crumpled, crossed out, scribbled sheets of paper. She felt like all the numbers were mixed up in her head. How could an exercise for ten year olds be so difficult ? What were they teaching them at this academy ? She did not remember Yuri having such difficult homework. She heard Anya sobbing. Yor knew how important it was for Anya to succeed in her studies and she saw all the efforts she was making since she went to Eden. Yor took a deep breath. She had to keep calm for Anya.

“Haha, we won’t be able to do it ! It's too complicated !”

Yor straightened up, determined.

“Don’t worry. We will do it. We just have to reread the wording again.”

She read the exercise once again and do a calculation. Should she add or subtract ? She was so absorbed in the exercise that she did not hear the door open and Loid enter.

“Yor ? Is everything alright ?”

Yor looked at him on the verge of tears. She understood what Anya might be feeling.

“Loid !” She exclaimed.

Loid gestured for her to speak less loudly and pointed to Anya who was sound asleep on her notebook. Yor looked at the late hour and blamed herself for not having noticed that Anya had finally fallen asleep.

“What has happened ?” Loid asked as he approached.

He picked up a crumpled paper from the ground and unfolded it.

“I tried to help Anya with her homework, but it was a disaster.”

Loid sat down next to her. Tears ran down Yor's cheeks.

“I couldn’t even understand a primary school exercise. I'm really stupid.”

Yor sobbed, at her wits' end. Loid brought his chair closer to hers and took her hands. He hated it when she went herself down.

“You’re not stupid. Quite the opposite. You’re the smartest person I know.”

Without them realizing it, the two of them had moved closer. They were only a few inches apart. This was not the first time they were in this kind of situation, Yor noticed. And each time the desire to put her lips on his was stronger.

“Chichi, you’re home ?” Anya mumbled sleepily.

Yor and Loid moved away, both blushing. Loid cleared his throat and stood up.

“I’m going to go put Anya to bed,” he said. “Afterwards, we will try to solve this exercise together.”

He gently took Anya in his arms and took her to her bedroom. A huge smile lit up Yor's face. Whenever she felt like she was a disaster as a mother, Loid was there to comfort her. Thanks to him, she felt invincible and told herself that no math exercise could resist her.

Otak will give you a 40 minute lecture on a handful of dirt, if you go out with him on a walk it will turn into an hour long tour. He gets carried away but he is so passionate. Would make an excellent tour guide/teacher.

Albrecht's yapping is due to him being incredibly verbose and simply bad at explaining himself. If you gave him a box of pancake mix and made him explain the recipe it would take him 30 minutes to explain " take bowl, fill with milk, add pancake powder, mix it well, let it sit for 10 minutes, cook on medium heat". Yes, he's brilliant and a genius but listening to him talk for more than 10 minutes will make you want to blow your brains out. Nightmare teacher/professor.

Otak is an airhead - he sleeps through his alarm, he forgets where he put his magnifying glass and his research notes are scattered across three buildings, five drawers and ten notebooks. Messy handwriting.

Albrecht is a slob - his workplace is a mess, he has atrocious handwriting, he barely takes care of himself. He is too much of a workaholic to put effort into his own personal dealings, he just thinks that anything that takes away time from work is "frivolous".

It was hard not to think of her as his mom when she was the one actively raising and forming a relationship with him.  ❖ When his father was ultimately killed by Epsilon Labs, Jaiden’s primary concern and fear was losing Zarina. With that handled, the official story is Jaiden's parents died in a car crash and he was adopted by Zarina.  ❖ Overall he's just grateful to still have his mom and his aunt in his life. Currently interning at the company while going to university. While he is aware of Zarina’s part in his father's death, he can't say he's particularly upset over it. I close the door behind me, and I begin to undress to start getting ready. I put on a robe and start with my hair, as it's the easiest to begin with due to its length. While the hair sets, I lay out the dress that I will be wearing, as well as the shoes I'll wear. crap. while all of his teachers were perceptive, loid forger was even more so. even if izuku lied about why he needed the gym, his teacher would eventually find out. he shuffles his weight from one foot to the other. while never really being given a reason to be nervous around him ( aside from him being a pro hero and working here ), izuku always felt like loid was looking into his mind, even if his eyes were often kind.

My People Are Dying. Here’s Some Ways To Help.

Some backround info for those unfamiliar with what is happening in Rojava:

[For those not in the know, Erdogan, leader of the Turkish regime, has been planning on invading Rojava for years.

On 9 October 2019, after Trump announced his decision to have the USA withdraw from Syria, he launched “Operation Peace Spring”, a deceptively pretty name for a horrific invasion that is anything but peaceful. His target is stated by him to be ‘securing’ Syria and providing homes for Syrian refugees in Turkey by defeating the Syrian Democratic Forces.

His intent, however, is fueled by fear of the Kurdish people. He claims that the Syrian Democratic Forces - one of, if not THE, biggest forces against ISIS - are a terrorist group and a threat to Turkish unity. The reason why? The majority of them are Kurdish, and the army has loose ties with the PKK, a previously (see: no longer a) separationist group. His attack is not simply on the SDF, however: The entire region is being invaded - a region that, while a majority Kurdish, is home to many other ethnic groups. My Arab, Assyrian, Turkemen, Armenian, and many others cousins who call Rojava home will also be impacted, and civilian casualties are on the rise. 

Let it be known that this is an act of ethnic cleansing, and my people fear for genocide. Innocent lives are being lost at this very moment, and the very terrorists we fought so hard alongside America are being trained and sent by Erdogan to kill us while Trump sits back and watches. And if that wasn’t enough, we were the ones keeping ISIS prisoners - and now that we are being invaded, we can no longer make guarding them a priority. Turkey has directly helped ISIS and America is now complacent in it.

We are incredibly lucky to reside in Canada, but the pain and guilt of sitting safely while my people and their allies shed blood is indescribable. It is my hope that this message gets as far as possible, and that those residing in the west, Kurds and allies alike, can help those in Rojava.]

So, how can you help? Here’s three ways - and which are by no means the only ways.

1. SPREAD THE WORD.

I don’t just mean reblogging and retweeting stuff about the invasion of Rojava, though you should absolutely do that too. I mean actually talking to people face to face. Let your family, your friends, your neighbors,  anyone who is willing to listen, know what is happening. Read about the situation, listen to those who are victims of Erdogan’s regime, boost the voices of those unheard. If you will not listen to Kurds, listen to those who fought alongside us against ISIS.

I highly recommend watching Civ Div’s videos documenting the situation day by day. As a international YPG veteran, I am grateful for his and every other ally’s service, and I am grateful for his decision to cover the events and spread awareness. He also does a great job at trying to neutrally go over the situation.

2. JOIN PROTESTS.

People all around the world, especially Kurds, are holding protests in light of Turkey’s actions as well as the USA’s abandonment of Rojava. I highly recommend also looking into @antifainternational​‘s Rojava tag - it is not all conclusive by any stretch of the word, but it does cover various locations in which protests are being held and on what days, as well as other actions of solidarity.

If you can’t find anything near you on the blog, do not think that means nothing is being done - there’s a pretty high chance that protests are happening in or near your area that you are unaware of - I’m a Kurd and even I wasn’t aware until two days ago that there was a protest in a nearby city.  Look online for local Kurdish communities or for protests in solidarity with Rojava. Let people know that you do not condone Erdogan or Trump’s actions. Pressure the USA to stand by its allies, and let Erdogan know that we will not tolerate what is being done.

3. DONATE.

Heyva Sor is a Kurdish, humanitarian, charity organization that provides emergency aid and medical care to those in warzones, working with civilians and combatants alike, along with general aid to repairing Rojava after the Afrin attacks. They are also the primary force in many hospitals in Rojava, and work extensively with refugees and orphans. If you want to help us, donating to them is one of the BEST things you can do.

We don’t want your tears. We want your help. Even if you cannot do anything listed here, just hitting the reblog button is worth something - the more people see this, the better.
