Upon seeing the cozy little library, Kyung felt a very old sense of nostalgia. Such a place reminded her of her time wandering her homeland, seeing all sorts of hole-in-the-wall establishments that locals regularly visited as if they were just a part of their own home. That sense of familiarity was quickly bristling into anxious tension once she stepped inside, though… Odd, even such a small space back in Jimseo seemed roomie in comparison to how she had to really try and shrink herself to maneuver around. She did enjoy being able to scan the many titles on the array of book spines with each shelf she passed, and the smell was comforting enough for her to relax a bit.

Once she got to the front desk, and got the attention of the mudokon stationed at it, Kyung politely bowed her head in greeting and gave them a close-mouthed grin.

“Hello. I hope that this isn’t too inconvenient, but I was hoping to speak with Mr. Lukem,” She answered, keeping her voice down and making sure she was still audible to the other. “There is an urgent matter… If he is willing to grant me a bit of his time, it would be most appreciated.”

There was only so much she could tell the Mudokon to relay to the library’s owner, as much as she wished to just say what all the fuss was about.

Time was of the essence. Even if the Brass Claw Cartel’s influence had begun to take root within the Palace, and the infiltration operation was going smoothly, it was only a matter of time before their cover could be blown. Making haste, Kyung set off to find Lukem’s library in Nolybab the very first chance she got after being given the coordinates. Dressed in her street fashion to blend in with the crowd, the foreign female arrived at the establishment with everything she needed.

Specifically, a highly secured company laptop that was capable of encrypted video transmissions. She’d need it because she was but a messenger in this one mission, it was her boss that would do most of the talking.

An inconspicuous entrance with a small storefront with some journals, newspapers and stationery for sale, hidden cozily in a narrow side street. A door with a simple nameless "Library" sign. It looked so incredibly small and fragile under the massive walls of a big city overhanging above, it felt like it could be crushed by it's weight at any moment.

The library seemed like a place you'd never even know about unless you looked for it, but people who needed to know just knew.

Inside were rows of cluttered bookshelves with labels printed on simple office paper, new books mixed together with ones so worn out, it seemed like a miracle they were still holding together. Walls covered with posters and notes, a few desks with scratched edges, and a small computer lab in a separate room. A few silent visitors were spending their time here at this moment.

The place was drowning in warm yellow of the electric lights and the smell of old books, and gave off a peaceful and welcoming aura, although admittedly was a bit cramped for someone of Kyung's build.

It was hard to believe that if things turned out differently, the owner of this establishment could right now be the CEO of a place as grand as The Palace.

At the reception desk sat a lanky mudokon in a striped shirt, mindlessly flipping the pages of some journal.

When the foreign female entered, the mudokon perked up, looking at an unusual guest curiously. It was safe to say this place hasn't been visited by a Jimseomi before.

"How can I help you, ma'am?"

Propadla jsem opět po letech The Long Dark (též Dlouhá morna či Dlouhý špatný: Nikam vole), a protože si odmítám některý věci nechat pro sebe, svěřila jsem se @kocourmokroocko, kterého k mé neskonalé radosti tohle studený peklo taky chytlo pod krkem. Po večerech si navzájem posíláme, co se nám doprdele zase přihodilo. Postupn�� se z toho zrodily charaktery našich kanadských přeživších.

Kocourova Pajda (vpravo) je postrachem divokých králiků, bezkonkurenčně vládne lukem a její největší slabinou je neodolatelné volání šutrů, ze kterých se dá někam seskočit (za pramalou cenu funkčních kotníků). Nahromadila kombo oblečení, co jí v postapo mrazech dodává skoro třicet stupňů k dobru a toto číslo stále stoupá.

Moje Hlaďka (vlevo) žere vlky. To by mohlo někomu připadat cool, ale nenechte se zmást, je to proto, že žádnou dostupnou zbraní ve hře netrefí nic, co neběží přímo na ni. I od vlků dostává občasnej világoš, ale za pět vlčích řízků se jí to vyplatí. Je konstantně nad nosným limitem, protože s sebou vláčí Všechny náboje.

Tak jsem naše girlies zvěčnila. Prožíváme to tolik, že občas zapomínám, že hrajem single player a nemůžem se někde potkat.

Tenhle post nemá pointu, jen flexim, kolik máme společně srandy :D

Researching the history of the Palace. We've found something rather interesting.

The first image is a photo of Mr. Bokhort. The original founder and the previous CEO of the Palace.

*"Things were different when he was in charge. Although the Palace hadn't yet reached the peak of it's fame, it was a place built by people driven by pure artistic passion. Nowadays it's corrupt to the core. Maybe it's just what comes with success..."

The second image is of Bokhort's student, Mr. Lukem.

*"A very promising young gentleglukk, and a loyal, trusted friend."

We've found that Lukem was promised the title of the Palace's next CEO. He was supposed to be Bokhort's successor.

But as we know that's not what happened.

Just a few years before Bokhort's passing, an Oktigi appeared in his life. None other than Madame Delvona. And she quickly turned everything upside down. Apparently Bokhort had fallen head over heels for her.

*"Ambitious, smart, beautiful. He adored her."

Eventually Bokhort abandoned his promise to his student and left everything he had to Delvona. After he died, supposedly of natural causes, she took his position.

When it comes to Mr. Lukem, from this point there's very little information about him. After Delvona became the CEO, he left the Palace and never returned.

This is worth looking into.

We've managed to find where Lukem is now. He currently owns a small library in Nolybab.

Maybe we can try and get in contact with him and try to negotiate. If we can get him on our side and working under our terms, he could be a worthy candidate.

The report came in at just the right time! Feng, Shinju, Zhuzhu and Kyung were meeting in the Pearl Empress airship; going over plans of what their next move would be. Originally, they had thought they’d be alone in taking down Delvona, but the moment the report went into detail about Lukem… All four shared glances with each other, and knew what they had to do next.

“Right then. Shinju, Zhuzhu; you and I will work to get in contact with Mr. Lukem. Kyung…” The behemoth Nilijin addressed the Jimseomi as a cloud of cigar smoke billowed out between his teeth. “I’ll need you to locate that library, and see to it that we have tabs on it in case anyone tries any funny business.”

“Yessir!” Kyung dutifully nodded with a bow of her head, her hopes to help return the Palace to its former glory and integrity boosted now that she knew that not just the original founder, but a student of his was far more suitable for the role.

Now, they only hoped that this Glukkon would agree to their terms and be willing to take a chance at reclaiming his rightful place in the Palace.

C’est le genre de belle histoire que seul le travail acharné de passeurs passionnés rend possible, et c’est en même temps magnifiquement révélateur de la philosophie défricheuse du label ougandais Nyege Nyege Tapes. L’exploration au long cours des archives radiophoniques africaines, notamment par le biais d’enregistrements d’époque fait par des auditeurs, est une composante importante de son activité ; elle porte encore une fois ses fruits en redécouvrant et en ouvrant les portes de ses studios à un artiste griot langi oublié (et vivant modestement dans le nord de l’Ouganda). Les chansons d’Ekuka Morris Sirikiti fascinent par leur simplicité et leur résonnance inexplicable, portées principalement par l’ostinato bourdonnant de son lukeme (piano à pouces) et sa voix agile, parfois agrémentés de percussions corporelles. Nul besoin de comprendre le langi pour être embarqué dans cet univers haut en couleur.

Moje konspirační teorie o archonech a celestii.

Co jsem pochopila ze spoilerů, co mi nabízí hoyo, i z memů (bo jinak se podrobnému infu a meta snažím vyhýbat), tak ve světě existuje Abyss aka super mega zlá entita, co jde po zničení všech a všeho. A pak je tam Abyss Order aka Khaenri'ah zbytky a jejich lidi, co se chtějí mstít Celestii za porážku ve válce a její následky. Tihle dva pracují na zničení Celestie, lítající země, kde žijí bohové bohů.

Co když!

Celestie nejsou ti hodní!

Co když i Archoni se snaží zbavit nadvlády Celestie? Samozřejmě jsou proti Abyssu, bo Abyss je špatný, a rozhodně nejsou pro zničení světa, bo to je jejich svět. Ale co když jsou proti Celestii?

Venti je Archon a jde drb, že v době války ten asi nejmocnější na jeho tou dobou věk. I kdyby ne, pořád je to postavička s lukem. I když si teď prošel emocionálním traumatem a lekcí od Dvalina, pořád by měl být schopný aspoň nějak reagovat na Signoru a její útok. Ale prd. Ale! Venti je bůh svobody a volnosti. Pokud by je Celestia držela pod krkem, ochotně se zbaví něčeho, co ho k nim váže. Plus gnosis není zdroj jeho schopností, jen posilovač+ takže může v klidu žít i dál.

Zhongli u předávání gnosu Signoře řekl, že jeho smlouva s ní je smlouva, co ukončí smlouvu všech smluv. Což mi vlastně vnuklo celou tuhle konspiraci, bo co je větší smlouvou? Ta s Celestií, že bude geo bohem. Detaily probs jsou, že dokud má gnosis, tak je geo archon, tak bude poslouchat. Ale pokud gnosis prodá jinou smlouvou, první se ruší a má od Celestie klid. Morax je navíc nejstarší z adeptů, co prý jsou starší než bohové, takže gnosis potřebuje akorát pro bonus financí, ale ne pro schopnosti.

Další Archony znám pouze z memů, bo tam jsem v questech nedošla, ale pokud se chlapům Archonům podařilo z dohody s Celestií vykroutit, tak třeba se o to pokusily i ženské. Je smlouva s Celestií přenosná na dědice? Udělaly něco, aby jejich dědici nebyli vázaní na předchozí domluvu? Teda až na Mauviku, ta má dost práce s válkou proti Abyssu, aby řešila konspirace. Je Tsarisa součástí téhle konspirace a proto pomáhá Abyss řádu s lovem gnosů? Žije vůbec Tsarisa?

No! Pokud to dopadne jako moje předchozí velká konspirace, tak není správně ani nic z tohoto všeho. Uvidíme.

Ekuka Morris Sirikiti - TE-KWARO ALANGO-EKUKA

Utterly gorgeous African folk music. From the liner notes:

"The first studio album from lukeme maestro and legendary Langi griot Ekuka Morris Sirikiti, 'TE-KWARO ALANGO-EKUKU' is an emotional and historical milestone. In 2018, Nyege Nyege Tapes combed through the artist's work forensically on 'Ekuka', picking out the finest examples of his sound from recordings made by keen-eared listeners who caught his performances on Ugandan radio. Ekuka had never kept any of these tracks; living frugally in Lira, Northern Uganda, he doesn't even own a device to listen to the music. So when he eventually heard the anthology, it triggered an epiphany. The songs - recorded between 1978 and 2003 - brought memories flooding back; some of his bandmates have long since passed away, and Ekuka was suddenly reminded of old friendships and long-forgotten life events.

Following this revelation, and for the first time in his life, Ekuka finally stepped into a proper studio, spending two weeks re-discovering and re-recording his old songs. These new versions capture the artist's virtuosity in microscopic detail: the characteristic rattling sound of his lukeme, an ancient African thumb piano, takes pride of place, but his assertive, agile voice also sounds as if it's been unlocked. "

He spent some time travelling and learning Mudokon history, but as Brass Claws Cartel successfully assimilated in the Palace and Mr. Lukem became the CEO, Pat returned to the Palace as a free mud.

He can't perform anymore because of a leg injury he sustained from overworking, but with Lukem's help he became a trainer of his own troupe. He's doing everything for his dancers to be treated fairly and fighting to prove that muds are not a lesser race.

Unfortunately, there are Glukkons that really hate the idea of a Mudokon of such status and authority, and are trying everything to get rid of him.

Pat survived two hired murder attempts, but he keeps fighting against all odds.
