"If it makes you feel any better, the next puppet she made also couldn't hold the Gnosis either, so she just gave it to Yae until that irascible Harbinger lady came and somehow acquired it." The disgust in Neka's tone wasn't toward the Fatui, though they would eventually have their own reckoning one day; no, he was vexed at how neither Ei nor Yae could keep hold of the Gnosis.

The other seemed almost hesitant to admit his curiosity, but Neka hardly found a reason to see it as a trait to take advantage of or judge, since the kitsune also had things he wished to know.
"Explaining her is far easier than you may think. Despite them being identical twins, take everything you know of Ei--Beelzebul, whatever she goes by now--and just imagine the opposite. Ei is callous, Makoto was caring and kind. Ei desires some notion of eternity, while Makoto was content with the notion that things were transient. Ei is a brute who knows nothing but removing her obstacles with violence, but Makoto was wise and more diplomatic. The one aspect where I have to give Ei her due is that Makoto was not a fighter, and I fear that might have been the reason she died 500 years ago." Turned out Neka sure could ramble on when it was about subjects he knew a lot about.
