i'm quite interesting on your depictions of the axes
Well then have I got a gift for you!
Tumblr media
The thing about the axes is that we don’t have their Light World counterparts, so we have to extrapolate them based on their descriptions.
The 2 common theories I’ve seen for their counterparts is toothbrush (Mane Axe + Brave Axe) and electric toothbrush (Auto Axe) or hair brush (Mane Axe), hair comb (Brave Axe), and hair clippers (Auto Axe). As you can see I’ve gone for the latter, however swapping the hair comb out for a pair of scissors, mostly cuz I couldn’t for the life of me make the comb look good as an axe. Trust me, I tried.
And naturally we have even less to go on for the Devilsknife counterpart, and I wanna hold off any personal speculation until Kris gets a Secret Boss Weapon[tm] as a point of reference.

the mane axe is a hairbrush. the auto axe is a toothbrush. so is the toxic axe.
during the events of chapter 4, gerson drags susie out of her slump, he encourages her storytelling as a fellow author and teaches her how to practice her craft. because he saw a story burn in her eyes, brighter and blacker than everything around them.
so gerson gave her the justice axe.
he gave her a paintbrush.

When there’s a Logan, there’s a You
Logan Howlett [Variants] • She/Her Pronouns • Mutant!Reader [Heightened Senses] • In Wade’s attempts to find the perfect Wolverine for his timeline, he half expected not to run into the many different yous that existed • ANGST/SFW/NSFW • TW: Blood / Nightmares / Scars
Tumblr media
“Oh, I gotta find me another Logan” Wade sighs, taking out the glorified fire phone. “An alive one…Don’t get up, guys. I’ll see myself out”
Comic Accurate Short King
“Logan!” Wade shouts in the axe throwing bar, spotting Logan sat at the bar. “I’m gonna need you to come with me.”
“Who’s asking?” Logan glared, hopping off the bar stool and revealing his true height.
“Oh, look at this hairy Lou Retton” Wade giggles behind the mask. “Did you stick the landing, little guy?”
A bit of annoyance grew on Logan’s face as he walked closer to Wade.
“Yes, you did! Comic-accurate short king” Wade leaned down, his voice in more of a mocking way and before he could say more he felt a hand on his shoulder.
Marvel Jesus turned around and holy fuck was this universe’s Y/N was tall as SHIT.
“Who you callin’ short, fucking ketchup bottle?” Y/N growled, gripping his shoulder with a bit of a force that drove a shiver down his spine.
“Okay Godzilla, I think I’ll be on my way out” Wade pulls himself away, taking the phone out and staring at their height dynamics as the door opens behind him. “He climbs you like a tree huh?” He teased only for both of them to get annoyed about to follow him but he quickly went through with it shutting behind.
Cue the fucking montage
Weapon X
As Wade steps through the door he was in shock at how ruined this universe was.
“Everything here is on fire” He thought out loud, entering an alleyway finding a hunched over figure with a cloak covering them. “Hi, have you seen I guess a more apocalyptic looking Hugh Jackman around here?”
The individual lifted their head showing their face to Wade causing him to kneel in front of the person.
“Fucking hell is that you Y/N?!” Wade removed the hood of her cloak revealing the buzzed hair. “Okay Furiosa, you slay in any universe”
The confusion write itself on her face as she didn’t know who this person was but given her state of being, she didn’t have the strength to fight him. But he sure did.
Suddenly, Wade was thrown away from Y/N’s space causing a bit of a comical scream to erupt out of the poor guy. Next thing he knew, his body met the wall which broke a few bones. Especially the car he landed on broke a couple more.
As Wade groans lifting himself onto his elbows, he turned to find a man had replaced where he was.
“I don’t know who you are but maybe you know where—-“
The man straightened up turning around to look Wade with the familiar scowl that matches every Wolverine.
“Well well well, you aren’t a kitty cat like the rest with that lion’s mane of yours” Wade smirks rolling off the car and walking over to get up close and personal. He was about to demand he come with him but then his eyes moved with his head to the metal stump that used to be his left hand. “Do your claws still work with that thing?” He gasps suddenly, straightening up. “Was that the hand you used to jerk o—-“
Before he could finish he went flying to the wall again after Logan punched him with said stump. Logan had enough of this yapping individual he’s never seen before and decided a threat is a threat. So he went after Wade and if he could, he’d turn him into ceviche if other matters didn’t stop him.
Y/N watched this all play out for a while and wanted to break it up but a part of her couldn’t handle the noises she was hearing.
Her wince is what made Logan stop and shove Wade off the car he was fighting him on before quickly approaching her. Logan gently cradles her face with his hand resting his forehead against hers.
“Yeah…okay, I’ll uh…see myself out” Wade groans dragging his body to the door he opened with his phone.
Patch
When Wade opened the door to the next universe he was confused whether he was in a casino in Vegas or a casino in the middle of the jungle because when he looked outside the window it looked like a jungle.
“Can I help you sir?”
The voice caught him off guard as he quickly turned around to lock eyes with this universe’s Y/N. Except his Y/N had cochlear implants. Not every universe is the same people! This Y/N clearly had her mutation manifest a bit too much that her eardrums BOOM! Exploded. Bursted…what’s the medical mumbo-jumbo? Anyway, I only know that cuz that ALMOST happened to my Y/N.
“Sir—-Can I help you?”
“I’m looking for a tall broody man that apparently has a very gremlin sized version of himself in another universe. Hell, you were alllllll leg there” Wade started to doze off thinking about how exactly the short king, yknow then he snapped back into it. “Anyho! You’re not helpful so I’m leaving you in your cute little waiter outfit alone and let myself in”
Before he even got to the door, Y/N blocked his path firmly pressing her hand against his chest.
“Okay princess, I’m not here to fight. I just need to talk to Logan”
The name triggered a thought in her mind unknown to him, but it was obvious that she thought Logan’s position was about to be compromised by this stranger.
“You don’t have a meeting with Patch and if you enter without granted access…I’ll have to take care of you myself” Y/N shoved Wade with a force he would never expect from her.
“Holy shit have you been working out or juicing?” Wade scoffs falling on his ass watching Y/N take out a small canister that with a quick press of a button it formed into a staff. “Marvel H. Christ…you pack a punch. I wonder what you’d do with the Hulk as your opponent”
“I’d leave if I were you”
“Sorry, sweetcheeks. That’s a no can do” Wade groans on his way back up, taking one of his katanas out. “Guess I’ll have to force my way through”
Logan suddenly felt uneasy as he looked at his winning cards, confusing the others at the table but his expression was toward what he heard that they didn’t. He reveals his cards and listened to their disappointment but before he could leave the table…
“Patch” Wade gave him a look which led Logan to gesture for the man on his right to give up his seat for him. “I need to talk to you”
“I don’t know who you are, bub” Logan tapped the table for his cards as the dealer gave Wade his as he was confused at to what they were playing.
“Yeah but I know exactly who you are and you HAVE to tell me how you snagged Y/N. The little lady is crazier than mine.” Wade lifted his cards, leaning into Logan. “What are we playing?” He whispers only for the man to growl at him in his space. “Ok ok. Not Go-Fish…uhm. I fold”
The dealer nodded and went to the next player, Logan kept his composure for the most part but when Wade said his partner’s name…his whole body tensed.
“How do you know Y/N.”
“Well that’s a bigger discussion we should have in private. And probably without her because she’s gonna be pissed when she wakes up” Wade went to reach for his card and Logan had enough which led the man to unsheathe his claws to stab him in the head. The woman on the other side of the mercenary, screamed when blood got on her but business continued as Logan retracted his claws along with pulling Wade away and off the table.
“You look like you could use a drink” the dealer gestured for a waiter to come over and before Logan could stand up to check on one in particular, he felt a hand stop him.
Logan quickly looked up locking eyes with his partner who bore a tired expression along with a bruise forming on her cheek. He could smell the blood on her and knew it was hers given she hide her other arm behind her back to avoid other eyes.
‘You okay?’ He signed to her as Y/N nods before both their attention were drawn to Wade dragging himself along the carpeted floor.
“Never…coming…back here” Wade groans continuing to drag himself away as Y/N scoffs at his form while signing ‘idiot’.
As soon as Wade left, Logan rises to his feet excusing himself from the table and walking out with Y/N back to the small lobby before their casino room. He frowns scanning around the room to see all the damage done to the place alone.
‘He ever comes back, you get me’ Logan scoffs as he signs to her while taking a hold of her arm that Wade managed to knick with his tiny knife.
‘I can handle myself’ She frowns, feeling his fingers gently lift her chin to have her attention on him.
“I don’t care. This operation is risky, I can’t lose you in the process” Logan frowns, kissing her forehead before bringing her into his arms for a brief moment. Her body finally relaxed after that whole interaction.
Old Man Logan
“This is much homier than the last universe…I think I still taste metal…” Wade pondered as he approached the small property in the woods. “Was it his claws or her staff going up where the sun don’t—-Oh hey!” He waves at the old man on the porch.
Said old man didn’t seem to care much of the guy dressed like a ketchup bottle. He kept his attention on himself until he heard the footsteps draw nearer.
“Hello, Hi! Hope you’re the man I’m looking for”
The old man lifted his gaze only for Wade to be taken back a sec.
“Well don’t you need some coconut oil on…that” He gestures to Logan’s older complexion as his words only drew out a low growl from the old man. “So you and my Logan actually aged. Can the little Wolvie still perform? I wanted to ask my Y/N but she’s still grieving”
Logan glared at him which drew out a growl out of the man the closer Wade got.
The growling annoyed more than the merc as the front door opened revealing this universe’s Y/N with a very tired expression on her face. Logan’s growling suddenly stopped as he turned toward the door finding her disappointed expression making his expression soften for a second.
Then a whole 180 turn back to Wade returning the scowl on his face and suddenly the shotgun he was hiding under his blanket fired at the poor guy launching him back from the force alone.
“He’s twitching” Y/N frowns stepping off the porch and checking the body, watching the bullet holes heal. “He can heal like you, babe” she pulls away from the body, only for her back to bump into Logan’s chest as he instantly went to cover her with his body. “He’s not going to hurt me”
Logan shot her a glare which was met with an annoyed look from her. He tensed when he heard Wade groaning, resulting in him gently nudging Y/N back as he took a step back.
“Okayyyy…clearly, I struck a fucking nerve with this one. Like…the others” Wade groans rising to his feet and cracking his back as he did such. “I shall bid y’all farewell…this writer needs to send me to a universe where the wolverine is a cat. Then maybe just maybe I won’t be too hurt” he sighs taking out his phone and opening a door to the next universe.
The poor guy looked around terrified as to where the man dressed in red had disappeared to, all while Y/N pulled away heading back inside.
“You want some peach cobbler?” She asks halfway through the door as Logan perked up quickly following behind her.
The door shut a moment, then Logan opened it back up leaving his shotgun outside before going back in.
Crucified Wolverine
Wade face plants into the sea of red skulls and part of him was afraid but most of him was curious.
“What in the fuck…” He lifts his head finding Logan on a giant yellow X. “Are you okay??” He laughs, struggling to rise to his feet as he stumbles on over to get close to this variant.
All this Logan has done was groan to the feeling of the nails in his wrists and the rain hitting his skin making him overall uncomfortable.
“Yeah uh. Not you…we’re uhm. Going in different directions” Wade turned around opening a door. “Thank god I didn’t find a Y/N skull…”
“Y/N…” Logan sobbed hearing her name which only made Wade anxious and get out of there faster not wanting to know what happened to one of his best friends in this universe.
John Byrne’s Brown and Tan Wolverine
“Oh yes, YES! Classic John Byrne brown and tan” Wade nodded happily watching Logan come into view of the wrecked forest they stood in. “Now you fought the Hulk in this costume…”
Logan readied himself, unsheathing his claws at the exact moment the Hulk roared which led Wade to turn around being face to face with said green monster.
“I’m Marvel Jesus you dull creature and I——“ Wade was suddenly hit by the Hulk into the trunk of a knocked down oak.
Part of him was having enough of these Logan variants that Wade started to whine and an even bigger chunk of him wishes his Y/N was with him.
“Get up!”
It felt like he was seeing an angel when her voice caught his ears. Y/N picked up Wade like it was nothing, carrying him over her shoulders and bringing him away from the fight but the Hulk was acting like a bull chasing them which led to Logan chasing him.
“DITCH THE RED, BUB” Logan shouts, climbing a tree and launching himself onto the Hulk’s back throwing him back.
Y/N suddenly dropped Wade but helped him to his feet. “Listen, Red. You’re not from here and this ain’t your fight”
“I know I know! I was gonna ask if I could borrow your Logan to help save my universe” Wade’s voice was panicked watching Logan and the Hulk fight.
“Look. Avengers are after us for messin’ with the multiverse already. You need to find a Logan that doesn’t have anything he could lose in his universe.” Y/N frowns. “It’s messed up but that’s how it’s gonna have to be.”
“Wait. How the fuck do you know so much about the multiverse?”
“When your Red vanishes one day and it became this unknown trend…you get curious and start talking to a few sorcerers” Y/N states, getting a chill down her back as she quickly grabs Wade pulling them both out of the way of the tree thrown their way.
“Y/N FOR FUCKS SAKE” Logan shouts, mainly over his anxiety for their safety with a hint of anger.
Y/N sighs grabbing Wade’s hand and pulling him out of their line of sight. She quickly took the phone out of his hand and dialed in two sequences.
“These two have lone Wolverines. One definitely has some baggage from a different studio but the other I know nothing about”
“Ok ok…I’ll take it” Wade took the phone, opening the first one up. Before she stepped completely away, he called out to her catching her attention. “Uhm. I…”
“You will save your universe, Wilson.” Y/N gave a small nod with a smile before turning around and running toward the fight.
The Cavillrine
The revving of the motorcycle caught his attention instantly.
“Oh now we’re talking” Wade started to approach this universe’s Wolverine. “That’s the whole goddamn package right there”
As he got closer, he grew more confused and remembered when the other Y/N brought up “studio” as if it meant something important…
“Yknow…from behind you look a little like Henry—-“ The second Logan turned around, Wade gasped. “Oh my FUCK…the Cavillrine the legends are true”
Logan gave him a confused expression as he puffed out some cigar smoke, bringing his attention toward his bike once more.
“And may I say sir on the behalf of all humanity….this just feels RIGHT” Wade emphasized on the last word with a bunch of giddiness in his voice watching Logan turn to him. “We will treat you so much better than those shit fucks down the street!”
“You were just leaving” Logan scoffs, removing the cigar from his mouth and tossing it.
“No sir! I wonder if your Y/N looks a little like Amy Adams” Wade thought for a moment, “No no no sir, not while the fate of my universe is at—-“
Poor guy.
Wade flew through the next time door from the force of Logan’s punch.
The Worse Wolverine
After the whole spiel, Logan came face to face with Wade’s gun as he could sense he had enough of disappointment. But he wasn’t going to go that easily.
“Watch this” Logan laughs reaching for the bottle and straightening up. “Alright…Woah—-“ he grabbed onto the gun to stabilize himself. “Easy…” he laughs softly, starting to drink the bottle straight up.
“Good god” Wade watches in pure shock. “Thirsty little honey badger aren’t yea?” He continues to watch him down the bottle which triggered a thought in his mind. “How did Y/N deal with your little drinking problem huh?”
Logan finished the bottle with a bit of a shocked expression hearing that name. “Y/N?” He questions him, only to suddenly collapse from the amount in his system.
Wade sighs holstering his gun and stepping over his unconscious body. “You will have to do”
You’ve all seen the movie do I really have to rewrite the whole thing? Let’s just get to the part where you show up
Althea scoffed after her wishing she was deaf comment as she listens to the commotion Wade and Logan were causing in the streets.
“Y/N!” She shouted knowing her apartment door is closed, and Y/N’s. But with her mutation, she heard her.
Y/N instantly lets herself in running over to the window and climbing out onto the fire escape where Al was. She instantly took note of the commotion happening.
“What is it?!”
“A fuckton of Wades”
“God fucking damn it. They better not be staying. Those motherfuckers won’t pay their rent!” Al scoffs again, going back into her apartment to look for some much need cocaine in her opinion. All while Y/N continued to watch the fight happening before re-entering herself and quickly grabbing something.
While the two were fighting in the bus, Y/N stepped out of the apartment complex finding a few Deadpool stragglers resulting in her running toward a presumed dead one and grabbing his handguns to take out the few giving hopefully her Wade less trouble. She flinched to the sound of broken glass as she ran over to the end of the bus sighing with relief.
“Wade, this is what you’ve been doing?! Fucking up the multiverse?!”
“I DIDNT DO SHIT! BLAME THE TVA” Wade shouts in her direction as he couldn’t help but feel the growing tension beside him that was Logan staring into Y/N’s soul from the looks of it. “Listen sweet cheeks. We gotta go save our universe and I need peanut’s help. So while he continues to stare at you like he’s seen a ghost Imma need you to have our backs in case—-“ he heard the sounds of bones cracking back into place as Y/N instantly knew where he was going.
“Go!” She shouted at them and while they ran to take care of the time ripper, she half expected to take on a whole clusterfuck of Deadpools. But when she heard the stand down! from Peter. She had only an ounce of hope.
Once the threat of it all was over, Y/N found herself back in her apartment leaned up against the door hugging a flannel close to her chest as she didn’t feel it in the moment. But seeing Logan, not her Logan, again was bringing back all kinds of feelings. She was hugging her Logan’s shirt as she had quite a few along with a box of Polaroids that their daughter took for the most part.
A knock on the door pulled her out of this trance she put herself in as she rises to her feet.
As she opened the door, her heart that was once beating fast because of her anxiety…relaxed when she locked eyes with Laura. Y/N instantly dropped the flannel and broke down into tears bringing her into her arms sobbing with her.
“Mom…” Laura whispers, sobbing and gripping onto the back of her shirt. Y/N held onto her for dear life, looking over her shoulder to find a smiling Wade and equally happy Logan beside him.
When they locked eyes, Y/N couldn’t help the smile on her face even with all the tears before hiding her face while hugging Laura. Logan felt his heart beating out of his chest.
You’ll find me again, I promise His Y/N’s words rang in his head as he looked at this universe’s Y/N.
A Logan will always find a Y/N

Part II - Their Frozen Shackles

Tumblr media
The thick rope they tied you up with bit into your slim wrists, their coarse fibers scraping your skin raw as you struggled against your bindings.
"Faster." A gargantuan soldier growled, pushing you with so much strength you tripped and almost fell on the snow-covered ground. You glared at him, your pale eyes briefly diving into his. After fleeing for one year, you finally got caught in the middle of nowhere. One minute you were walking through the frozen trees and the other you were shoved on the snow, a man's knee pressing on your back so painfully you couldn't breathe anymore. Those cursed DrĂźskelle had been prepared, ambushing you with a precision that left no room for escape. Now bound and gagged, you had no other choice than to follow them despite your weak body, aching from the journey's relentless pace.
Your captors barely spoke but their grim expressions as well as the disgust that was burning in their eyes each time they looked at you was a constant reminder of what awaited you in Fjerda. A joke of a trial. The stories of Grisha hunted like animals, dragged to the pyres where fire would consume them as crowds cheered, haunted you. So, that's how I'm going to die, you thought bitterly and a shiver ran through you. This time, it wasn't from the cold.
"Let's stop here for the night." The same rugged man from the North said.
The camp came alive as night fell, the DrĂźskelles setting up the perimeter with an efficiency that spoke of experience. Observing the silhouettes of tents and men, you let out a sigh at the unpleasant sensation of the cold gnawing at your cheeks. You were standing slumped against a tree, your legs and arms released from the bite of ropes only to be restrained by heavy and frozen shackles. Your white hair, matted with dirt and snow, clung to your seraphic face as you looked dagger at the men who dared approach a bit too close to your liking. Even chained and vulnerable, most of them didn't meet your gaze.
"She's quiet", one of them muttered, his tone uneasy but a sparkle of morbid curiosity twinkling in his dark pupils, "And she's so... frail." The soldier added, fascinated by how the witch's long white hair danced in the wind.
"She's dangerous," another corrected and, by reflex, his grip tightened on his axe, "Don't let her tricks nor look fool you. She's a goddamn murderous witch. And the worst of them."
A witch. A monster. An abomination. You had heard it all before and yet, the sharp edges of those words still cut you deep. Closing your eyes, you did your best to steady your breath and fight against the frustration of not being able to use your powers to break free.
Tumblr media
The camp was quiet under the shroud of night, save for the occasional crackle of dying fires or the muffled rustle of snow beneath the guard's boots. While most of them were comfortably sleeping in their tents, the cruel wind that swept through the barren forest cut to your bones, but you had stopped noticing it. The cold had long since seeped into your skin, the frozen chain that bound your wrists pressing against your wounds. You sat in the cage they put you in, knees pulled to your chest and your snow-white mane tumbling around you like a grim shroud. The feeling of powerlessness crept into you, twisting your stomach and making you grind your teeth. That burning hatred simmered in you but what could you do except wait? Wait for this nightmare to end. Wait for your inevitable death.
You remained still, your icy aquamarine gaze locked on the frost-covered bars of your cage. As far as you can remember, rage has always coiled in you like a living thing and no matter your divine appearance, you were all but a saint. Nor a martyr. Just a storm waiting to roar.
The sound of boots crunching against the snow suddenly broke your reverie though. The DrĂźskelle captain who kept pushing you a few hours ago strode toward you, his tall and muscular frame looking even more massive against the dim firelight. Still, you could see his face in the twilight: a rough-hewn face, with a scar slicing through his brow and a look of cold, cruel authority etched on it. His long blonde hair was tied in a quick, messy man bun.
"Change of plans," he said to the guards who were watching you, "We're not dragging her back to Fjerda. Can't take the risk."
One of the guards hesitated. He looked at his fellow brother before he spoke. “But the trial—”
“No trial,” the captain snapped, refusing to wait for him to finish his sentence. “I’ll take her head myself. It’s cleaner this way. Fewer men dead because they underestimated what’s in that cage.” His voice was a low and predatory rumble.
Your chest tightened at his words, but you refused to flinch. It was something you never did in the Menagerie and you weren't going to start now. Even though you had remained quiet since they caught you, your eyes met his sky-blue gaze with defiance, "Afraid, are you? That's wise" Your voice, haunting and steady, howled with the winter wind.
The captain's lips curled into a thin, mocking smile. "You think you're clever, don't you, witch?" With one brutal shove, he pushed the guard out of his way and motioned for the others to step back, "I've seen your kind burn and, trust me, y'all scream the same in the end."
Brutal rage flashed within you as the captain opened the cage himself under his men's terrified eyes, stepping inside with the same disgusting look your wealthy client had on their face back at the Menagerie: the look of a man who thought he held all the power over you. His strong hand suddenly grabbed your wrist and forced you to stand.
"Before we finish this," He murmured, leaning over you until his face was level with yours. His unfinished sentence floated in the air as his eyes fell on your fleshy lips, chapped due to the cold, "I think I'll indulge myself. Never had a witch before. Pretty sure you're tight pussy might worth the risk and keep me warm in this cruel weather."
He reached out, brushing a gloved hand against your cheek. The sudden physical contact made your stomach churn with revulsion. A shiver of fear crawled beneath your skin, cold and sharp as a blade, at the thought of this man ravaging you. Despite your stillness, a tinge of fear pinched your heart for all your life men had used your body as if it was nothing but a toy to twist and break.
"Fucking animal." You whispered back to him without faltering. If anything, your eyes hardened, the frost within them sharper than the crisp winter air.
"I do fuck like an animal, y'know. Like a wolf." The captain leaned closer, all his height towering over you and his breath hot against your face, "Terrifying, they say. That you can kill with one sole movement of your little hands..." His hand trailed down your jaw to your throat, lingering there to feel your pulse quicken under his touch, "But here you are, helpless as a lamb." His hand freed your throat as he spoke but the relief was short for this time, he cupped one of your small breasts, "I wonder, does the evil witch they talk about bleed like a woman?" Fear followed close behind, a visceral feeling that bloomed in your chest as he started painfully playing with your nipple -- bile rose when he pressed his hardening cock between your legs, "Is your cunt tighter?"
You didn't respond, or struggle. In fact, you simply stared at him, until his smug confidence began to flicker with unease and his ego hurt by your lack of fear.
"What?" He snapped, gripping your chin roughly with his free hand, "No threat? No last words?"
To this, your only reply was a faint smile that ghosted across your lips, brittle as ice, "Just this: you should've killed me when you had the chance."
Before the captain could retort, the shadows seemed to shift around you. Then, the fire flickered, dimmed, and extinguished entirely even though the wind was low.
"What's happening?!" One of the Drüskelles hissed, his voice filled with fear as he looked around him. An unexplainable panic started to fill the camp, the air thickening with an oppressive weight that pressed against your chest and stole your breath. The darkness around you seemed to pulse, alive and watchful, carrying a power that made your blood hum in recognition — but in recognition of what? you thought, feeling suddenly as frightened by this suffocating presence as your captors. It was heavy, unsettling, as if an imminent threat other than you was about to be unleashed. And yet, contrary to the Drüskelles', you felt something deeper beneath the unease. A pull that felt like a whisper in your bones, calling you home.
Come to me.
I’ve been waiting for you all my life.
Come to me.
A figure emerged from the darkness, cloaked in black, his movement unnervingly calm amidst the chaos. The shadows clung to this tall silhouette like a living thing, shifting and weighting as though they obeyed his every wish and command.
"Who's there? Who the fuck are you?!" The leader barked, pushing himself away from you to reach for his sword and unsheathe it.
The mysterious and threatening man didn't answer. Instead, he raised a gloved hand and, all of sudden, the shadows that were dancing around him surged forward like panthers pouncing on a bunch of easy prey. The screams came next, sharp and agonizing, tearing the silent veil of the night as the darkness attacked the Drüskelle one by one — some devoured, swallowed by it, others cut into pieces by pitch-black blades.
Utterly terrified, you dropped to the ground, turned your head away and squeezed your eyes shut just like you did when you were a child. Your stomach twisted again as the air around you filled with the wet, choking sounds of death and the metallic smell of blood you knew far too well. The DrĂźskelles' shrieks were inhumane, otherworldly wrapped in pain, but all you could hear was the loud drums of your heart beating so violently in your chest that you thought it would burst your ribcage open.
Tumblr media
Only when the silence returned did you dare open your eyes, blinking and cautiously surveying your surroundings for you feared the slightest hasty movement would cost you your life. The sight that met your icy eyes squeezed the air out of you again — a dozen bodies laid discarded on the ground, mangled in such a gruesome way that you felt slightly sick in the stomach, even with your high tolerance to horrors. Slowly, you moved your feet and crunched the snow beneath them to check if you were still alive: the snow around you was drenched in crimson, stark and jarring against its pale coat, and forming long trails like veins spreading through the ice.
Then the shock wore off, leaving its place to another surge of panic: the creature responsible for such manslaughter was still there. You raised your head with hast, looking for it.
The figure stepped closer and as he did the pale moonlight faintly illuminated his face, unveiling the traits of a man, not the wraith you were expecting. The more he walked toward you, the more his physical traits came into sharp focus. Your eyes locked onto his, breath still caught in your throat as he fully emerged from the shadows — hypnotizing features carved with precision, framed by black hair perfectly slicked back. His deep-set eyes, two haunting obsidians, glimmered with an unfathomable intensity, their depths both alluring and dizzying like the event horizon of two soul-sucking black holes. Your eyes lingered a bit longer on him, observing his angular jawline, the shadow of his beard and the way his seductive lips were curved in a faint, enigmatic smirk that exuded both charm and danger.
General Kirigan.
He knelt before you, his dark eyes sweeping over your huddled-up form, "You've caused quite a stir," he said calmly, his voice surprisingly smooth and tinged with a barely perceptible amusement. His long black coat draped over his form like liquid darkness, blending with the night.
“And you’ve made a mess,” You retorted after a few long seconds, carefully relaxing your shoulders and raising your head.
The corner of his mouth twitched in what might have been a smile. “Only a necessary one.” With a slight flick of his wrist, the shadows suddenly cut through your shackles and dropped on the bloodied snow with a muffled thud. As soon as you could move, you rubbed your raw and bruised wrists to soothe the soreness — your gaze never left his.
"Why are you here?" Your tone was wary, but far from trembling.
Kirigan straightened, his tall and lean body towering over you as he offered his gloved hand, "I've come for you" he replied, the inky abyss of his eyes was laced with an unearthly gleam, both inviting and terrifying. For a brief moment, you felt as if he could see into the deepest corners of your soul, the sensation was worse than being stripped naked in the cold, "I've been looking for you and I must admit that you are quite good at hiding."
Your jaw tightened, still taken aback by his magnetic presence and the adrenaline, but you finally took his hand and let him pull you to your feet. Despite the leather of his glove, you could feel the jarring warmth of his touch, which created a stark contrast to the coldness of the night. Back on your feet, you had expected him to release your hand but he did the opposite — his long fingers gently squeezed it, trying to warm your skin up.
"What do you want from me?" You pressed, behaving like a wild and cornered animal no matter the fear that clawed at you.
"What do I want?" He echoed, his voice velvet and firm at the same time. Kirigan's gaze lingered on you, observing the tiniest details of your face just like you did. You were a vision of unsettling perfection, as though carved from ice and shadow. Your snow-white hair — damp because of the snow — cascaded in silken slight waves to your lower back and framed a face that seemed too delicate to be real. "I want what most people want when they hear tales and rumors," He drawled, his black eyes fascinated by your porcelain skin. Your features were impossibly dainty, the kind of beauty that felt so otherworldly that it came off as eerie. In fact, you reminded him of a broken doll. Your heart missed a beat when you noticed his pupils dropping on your plump, inviting lips, tinted like frost-kissed rose petals, "I want to unravel the mystery."
You could not help but snort, "A mystery... And why should I trust you, then?"
Aleksander shrugged off his black coat in one swift motion and stepped closer to drape it over your frail shoulders with unexpected care. The weight of the coat was grounding and the warmth from his body, still deeply woven with the fabric, seeped into your cold skin. "You don’t have to trust me, but consider your alternatives. You’ve seen what they wanted from you.” His gaze flicked to the Drüskelle corpses scattered nearby, then back to you. The beautiful contrast of the dark coat against your small and pale figure made you seem even more delicate, like a fragile snowflake caught in a storm. His hands lingered briefly on the edges, steady and protective, before he stepped back from your private space.
'You’re no different. You want something from me, too." You said but still grabbed the collar of his coat and lift it to your throat to protect you from the wind.
"Of course I do,” Aleksander retorted, “But I’m offering you something in return. Freedom. Safety. A chance to control the power that terrifies them. Or would you rather keep running, waiting for the next set of chains?”
His words felt like a punch in the guts. Chains. The simple mention of it made all your body tense. Your breath hitched but remained silent.
"I don’t think you want to be afraid anymore. Don't you think you deserve more than a life on the run?”
You studied him, your icy eyes narrowing, as if searching for cracks in his composure. Or instruction to decipher his intentions “And if I say no?”
He tilted his head, a shadow of a smile playing on his lips. “Then I leave. You’ll never see me again.” His voice dipped, a subtle thread of urgency weaving through. Aleksander sounded sincere, but a part of him knew that he was openly lying: letting you run away was not an option, "But you know I'm right, even though you'd probably hate admitting it."
Your cold fingers curled into the fabric of his coat as your mind try to come up with a solution. Yet, exhaustion was weighing on your shoulders like lead now that the adrenaline was wearing off, making his promise of safety even more tempting. You finally exhaled, shoulders slumping. "Fine."
"Let's get you some food and a warm bath." He said, the ghost of a smile flirting with his lips for a brief moment as he offered you his hand again.
You hesitated before taking it, your small and bloodied fingers disappearing into his gloved palm. The promise of something filling to eat and a comfortable place to sleep definitely convinced you.
Tumblr media
Moments later, General Kirigan helped you climb onto the back of his black horse. The mighty beast's hairs were gleaming like onyx under the moonlight and a little voice in your head couldn't help but wonder if the animal too was made of shadow. Too drained to argue or ask other questions, you leaned against his back as he mounted, your body limp except for your arms wrapped around his waist. Admittingly, his warmth was an unexpected comfort against the chill of the night and the latest events. Despite yourself, you let your head rest lightly against his shoulder and tried your best to forget about the DrĂźskelle Captain's hands roaming all over you. To forget about the clients' hands too.
Aleksander stiffened for the briefest moment, surprised by the sudden sensation of your small frame pressing against his back. A flicker of something unnameable crossed his face —possessive, almost tender— before a satisfied smirk crept over his lips. The general's hands tightened around the reins as if anchoring himself too, the faintest whisper of fascination blooming in his mind.
"Rest now," he said softly. His soothing voice lulled you, resulting in your eyes fluttering close, "You're safe with me."
And though you weren't sure you believed him, for the first time in years, you allowed yourself to hope.

After chapter 4 dropped there are now a lot of theories and predictions. Meanwhile I'm here asking about what the weapons would be in the light world.
Like the Justice Axe. Seriously I really want to figure out what it could be.
Well, the trend with Susie's weapons has been brushes so far. The Mane Axe (and likely the Brave Axe as well) are hairbrushes, the Auto Axe appears to be an electric toothbrush, and the Toxic Axe looks to be a toilet brush.
And then during the battle with Gerson, he talks a lot about how Susie has the power and drive to create a new story, how she can steer creativity in a direction that she desires. Basically, that she and the world can be saved through art's power of reinterpretation.
With all that in mind, I REALLY do like @carlyraejepsans's take that the Justice Axe is a paintbrush.

Interesting how Susie says her weapon is a hairbrush- When only ONE of her weapons is a hairbrush, and thats the Mane Axe. The ONE weapon she refuses to wield after you give her something else to replace it.
Tumblr media
Susie rejects the Mane Axe, but that same Axe is her CANON weapon? (It also being the weapon thats shown in her sprite, and what she's using to block in the Gerson fight)
There is SOMETHING being foreshadowed here, and I CANNOT WAIT to see what the deal here is.

4c told derap about Kab's new spawn. Derap's asking 4c (very threateningly with an axe in hand) why he blew up spawn. 4c told him it was an initiation.
4c said Focus was working with Mane 2 weeks before they found the orbital canon??? 4c is confused cuz he thought everyone knew the details about the betrayal at this point
Mane found the orbital canon on his own, he only asked Focus about it to test if they were betraying. The plan was to sabotage the canon, but if that didn't work then Focus was supposed to go to the fight and die when Mane asked.
Derap showed 4c one of the Nuke shots he found. 4c was surprised, he told Derap that Focus tried to input cords for a nuke shot when the canon was being destroyed but it didn't work (the nuke shots where aimed at the canon itself). They think the shot might have been Spoke
They started to talk about the knew update and Derap asked why he wanted to explore (cuz he was suspicious of 4c), 4c said he wanted more elytras because his teammates lost theirs on the war for spawn, he said he got 10 elytras. Derap thinks he's lying, he thinks 4c found the exploit.
Derap showed Zaun to 4c and asked if 4c was the one to build the house there. 4c said it was him. Derap promised he wouldn't tell Zam it was 4c. Derap said he doesn't really care about what builds are at spawn, he just doesn't want it to be completely blow up. He also said he cares about how Zam feels. Derap also told 4c about the big fight with Flame and the whole thing with Zaun.
Derap asked 4c to make a trust exercise. He asked 4c to give him his chestplace but it was normal. They kept dancing around the topic till they both admitted to it. 4C said he's armor was normal right now because when kab asked him to make the new spawn he thought Mane was gonna drop him lmao. They both found out about it while exploring the end.
Derap explained why they made Zaun. Derap said Zam was very chill about the mystery house at Zaun, he even integrated things with the build. He said it was okay if 4C continued to build there, as long as he doesn't tell anyone. 4c didn't even tell his teammates about it.
Derap told 4c it would be a good idea to have a chat with Zam, but 4c is not sure of what he would say. Derap asked him to not tell Zam about the exploit, because he thinks Zam is not gonna react well, 4c was a little surprised he wasn't telling Zam but he agreed.
(Important to note that 4c told squiddo about it, and Derap is scared she's gonna tell Ash about it, but 4c trusts squiddo)
(Also important to note that 4c did get 10 elytras, he just didn't show it to derap earlier because they were in the same shulker as the armor)

Ship names used to be creative and fun, not just the boring portmanteaus you see nowadays littering @fandom. Let's bring that energy back for Valentine's Day 2025 and consider once again the most popular pairing from Tolkien's legendarium.
Extra credit: Gandalf says, "Long I fell, and he fell with me." Would you therefore consider their relationship a "slow burn"?
For additional context, excerpts from The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers are below the cut.
From The Fellowship of the Ring: Chapter 5: The Bridge of Khazad-dĂťm
Legolas turned and set an arrow to the string, though it was a long shot for his small bow. He drew, but his hand fell, and the arrow slipped to the ground. He gave a cry of dismay and fear. Two great trolls appeared; they bore great slabs of stone, and flung them down to serve as gangways over the fire. But it was not the trolls that had filled the Elf with terror. The ranks of the orcs had opened, and they crowded away, as if they themselves were afraid. Something was coming up behind them. What it was could not be seen: it was like a great shadow, in the middle of which was a dark form, of man-shape maybe, yet greater; and a power and terror seemed to be in it and to go before it. It came to the edge of the fire and the light faded as if a cloud had bent over it. Then with a rush it leaped across the fissure. The flames roared up to greet it, and wreathed about it; and a black smoke swirled in the air. Its streaming mane kindled, and blazed behind it. In its right hand was a blade like a stabbing tongue of fire; in its left it held a whip of many thongs. 'Ai! ai! ' wailed Legolas. 'A Balrog! A Balrog is come!' Gimli stared with wide eyes. Durin's Bane!' he cried, and letting his axe fall he covered his face. 'A Balrog,' muttered Gandalf. Now I understand.' He faltered and leaned heavily on his staff. What an evil fortune! And I am already weary.' The dark figure streaming with fire raced towards them. The orcs yelled and poured over the stone gangways. Then Boromir raised his horn and blew. Loud the challenge rang and bellowed, like the shout of many throats under the cavernous roof. For a moment the orcs quailed and the fiery shadow halted. Then the echoes died as suddenly as a flame blown out by a dark wind, and the enemy advanced again. 'Over the bridge!' cried Gandalf, recalling his strength. Fly! This is a foe beyond any of you. I must hold the narrow way. Fly!' Aragorn and Boromir did not heed the command, but still held their ground, side by side, behind Gandalf at the far end of the bridge. The others halted just within the doorway at the hall's end, and turned, unable to leave their leader to face the enemy alone. The Balrog reached the bridge. Gandalf stood in the middle of the span, leaning on the staff in his left hand, but in his other hand Glamdring gleamed, cold and white. His enemy halted again, facing him, and the shadow about it reached out like two vast wings. It raised the whip, and the thongs whined and cracked. Fire came from its nostrils. But Gandalf stood firm. 'You cannot pass,' he said. The orcs stood still, and a dead silence fell. 'I am a servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the flame of Anor. You cannot pass. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of UdĂťn. Go back to the Shadow! You cannot pass.' The Balrog made no answer. The fire in it seemed to die, but the darkness grew. It stepped forward slowly on to the bridge, and suddenly it drew itself up to a great height, and its wings were spread from wall to wall; but still Gandalf could be seen, glimmering in the gloom; he seemed small, and altogether alone: grey and bent, like a wizened tree before the onset of a storm.
From out of the shadow a red sword leaped flaming. Glamdring glittered white in answer. There was a ringing clash and a stab of white fire. The Balrog fell back and its sword flew up in molten fragments. The wizard swayed on the bridge, stepped back a pace, and then again stood still. 'You cannot pass!' he said. With a bound the Balrog leaped full upon the bridge. Its whip whirled and hissed. 'He cannot stand alone!' cried Aragorn suddenly and ran back along the bridge. 'Elendil!' he shouted. 'I am with you, Gandalf!' `Gondor!' cried Boromir and leaped after him. At that moment Gandalf lifted his staff, and crying aloud he smote the bridge before him. The staff broke asunder and fell from his hand. A blinding sheet of white flame sprang up. The bridge cracked. Right at the Balrog's feet it broke, and the stone upon which it stood crashed into the gulf, while the rest remained, poised, quivering like a tongue of rock thrust out into emptiness. With a terrible cry the Balrog fell forward, and its shadow plunged down and vanished. But even as it fell it swung its whip, and the thongs lashed and curled about the wizard's knees, dragging him to the brink. He staggered and fell, grasped vainly at the stone, and slid into the abyss. 'Fly, you fools!' he cried, and was gone.
From The Two Towers: Chapter 5: The White Rider
'Yes, together we will follow you,' said Legolas. 'But first, it would ease my heart, Gandalf, to hear what befell you in Moria. Will you not tell us? Can you not stay even to tell your friends how you were delivered?' 'I have stayed already too long,' answered Gandalf. 'Time is short. But if there were a year to spend, I would not tell you all.' 'Then tell us what you will, and time allows!' said Gimli. 'Come, Gandalf, tell us how you fared with the Balrog!' 'Name him not!' said Gandalf, and for a moment it seemed that a cloud of pain passed over his face, and he sat silent, looking old as death. 'Long time I fell,' he said at last, slowly, as if thinking back with difficulty. 'Long I fell, and he fell with me. His fire was about me. I was burned. Then we plunged into the deep water and all was dark. Cold it was as the tide of death: almost it froze my heart.' 'Deep is the abyss that is spanned by Durin's Bridge, and none has measured it,' said Gimli. 'Yet it has a bottom, beyond light and knowledge,' said Gandalf. 'Thither I came at last, to the uttermost foundations of stone. He was with me still. His fire was quenched, but now he was a thing of slime, stronger than a strangling snake. 'We fought far under the living earth, where time is not counted. Ever he clutched me, and ever I hewed him, till at last he fled into dark tunnels. They were not made by Durin's folk, Gimli son of Glóin. Far, far below the deepest delving of the Dwarves, the world is gnawed by nameless things. Even Sauron knows them not. They are older than he. Now I have walked there, but I will bring no report to darken the light of day. In that despair my enemy was my only hope, and I pursued him, clutching at his heel. Thus he brought me back at last to the secret ways of Khazad-dûm: too well he knew them all. Ever up now we went, until we came to the Endless Stair.' 'Long has that been lost,' said Gimli. 'Many have said that it was never made save in legend, but others say that it was destroyed.' 'It was made, and it had not been destroyed,' said Gandalf. 'From the lowest dungeon to the highest peak it climbed. ascending in unbroken spiral in many thousand steps, until it issued at last in Durin's Tower carved in the living rock of Zirak-zigil, the pinnacle of the Silvertine. 'There upon Celebdil was a lonely window in the snow, and before it lay a narrow space, a dizzy eyrie above the mists of the world. The sun shone fiercely there, but all below was wrapped in cloud. Out he sprang, and even as I came behind, he burst into new flame. There was none to see, or perhaps in after ages songs would still be sung of the Battle of the Peak.' Suddenly Gandalf laughed. 'But what would they say in song? Those that looked up from afar thought that the mountain was crowned with storm. Thunder they heard, and lightning, they said, smote upon Celebdil, and leaped back broken into tongues of fire. Is not that enough? A great smoke rose about us, vapour and steam. Ice fell like rain. I threw down my enemy, and he fell from the high place and broke the mountain-side where he smote it in his ruin. Then darkness took me; and I strayed out of thought and time, and I wandered far on roads that I will not tell. 'Naked I was sent back – for a brief time, until my task is done. And naked I lay upon the mountain-top. The tower behind was crumbled into dust, the window gone; the ruined stair was choked with burned and broken stone. I was alone, forgotten, without escape upon the hard horn of the world. There I lay staring upward, while the stars wheeled over, and each day was as long as a life-age of the earth. Faint to my ears came the gathered rumour of all lands: the springing and the dying, the song and the weeping, and the slow everlasting groan of overburdened stone. And so at the last Gwaihir the Windlord found me again, and he took me up and bore me away.

Febuwhump Day 1: Vocal Chords (Wild & Twilight)
Read on Ao3
I didn't get a chance to hop on Tumblr for the last few days so I'm posting these now to catch up!
CW for burn wounds, axe wounds, and a spell taking away a character's voice
----------------------------------------------------------------
The forest is quiet, save for the soft hoots of owls and far off chirps of keese. Wild walks on silent feet, careful to avoid fallen branches and piles of decaying leaves. Autumn remains year round in the Akkala region. The air is forever seized with a damp chill, the earth forever laden with the burden of fiery foliage.
Its beauty cloaks danger as the hills of Faron hide flashes of distant lightning.
In this moment, that danger feels closer at hand than usual.
No sooner had the Shadow’s latest portal deposited the heroes in Wild’s time, than the reports had begun pouring forth.
“Monsters!” One positively petrified looking man at the stable had cried, wringing his hands. “Mysterious and horrible! They twist the mind and take what they cannot return!”
“No one’s seen anything like it before!” Said a woman, running a comb through a horse’s silken mane. “We’ve always dealt with monsters around here — you know that better than anyone, Link — but these…these don’t belong to our world.”
And so, the heroes had split up into groups of twos and threes and began their journey to the very corners of Akkala’s wild woods. None had been able to guess what exactly they were looking for or what they would face in the end. But such mystery was nothing new to any of them. And it had never stopped them before.
The prospect of the discovery had been a bit exciting at first, if also tinged with fear. Now, however, Wild finds that his eagerness has diminished. In this place peppered with the fallen corpses of guardians, freckled with water settled long enough to attract bothersome clusters of mosquitoes and gnats, it feels as though the world holds its breath.
He walks forward, Twilight by his side, padding softly upon giant paws, and the beasts and creatures of his overgrown land watch with bated breath. Awaiting the imminent crash of thunder.
Wild reaches out, places a gentle hand on Twilight’s back. Upon his fur, droplets of suspended water have fallen, turning the thick, dark layers cold and damp. A huff of breath through the chilled nose that nuzzles him creates a wisp of fog that takes its time dissipating.
“They’re here.”
It is a murmur, almost a whisper. Wild is no stranger to the feeling that the disturbing of a quiet place is a sin most severe. Many a time he has hardly dared to breathe lest he awaken some monstrosity, harm some delicate beauty. But the sensation now is different. The air is electric. To speak aloud, to shout, would be to invite death.
“I don’t know what they are, but I can feel them. Can you smell anything, Twi?”
The rancher lifts his nose to the air, takes a few audible inhales. Then, to the ground he goes, nostrils blowing small bubbles in the puddles beneath their feet.
He walks forward several more steps before his ears prick up.
Wild’s breath catches. “Did you find something?”
Twilight ducks his head in the affirmative. Wild draws his sword, hefts his shield firmly into his grasp. Together, they start forward.
For what seems an eternity, all is quiet. Not so much as a squirrel or a fox dares to raise their head above the waving grass. Birds do not sing in the trees. Even the Guardians, often prone to rising revitalized from their shallow graves, remain still as the death that binds them.
Perhaps, that is why, when the sound finally comes, it is deafening.
It explodes from behind the two heroes in tongues of ravenous blue-white flame. Pain accompanies them, so cold it sears.
With a shout, Wild tries to lunge sideways. But his foot catches on a smoking log. He stumbles over it and his own feet, lands with a sodden, sorrowful splash.
Quickly, he shoves himself upward on arms that tremble. His back burns. The smell of burnt flesh and charred hair wafts nauseatingly.
Somewhere, someone is crying. Their anguished sobbing fills in his ears, mingling with screams so terrible he feels their echoes in his soul.
The hairs on the back of his neck rise as Wild does. Wiping tears born of smoldering foliage and pain, he stumbles forward. Already, flames have begun to surround him. Even the rampant puddles cannot douse them.
He cannot see their attacker. He cannot see Twilight.
But he can hear him. Over the sobbing, over the screams, is a distinctively sharp yelp.
Laughter splits the air like a cleaving axe.
“Twilight!”
Wild tries to say his name, tries to shout it. His lips form the word, his tongue moves to push it forth. Yet nothing escapes. No sound of his own pierces aching ears.
Already raging panic shoots up to a fever pitch.
He begins to run.
“Twilight! Twilight!”
Speech is an art he can no longer perform. His body is uncooperative. His breath comes so fast it escapes in hiccups.
Eyes glare from the cerulean gloom, eyes that see too much but lack the means to do so. A dark hood, a gown of splotchy gray, a lantern that swings like the pendulum of a grandfather clock. The figure comes forth as though from nothing and drags its claws across his face.
Wild backs up, spluttering, tasting iron. Behind him, someone giggles and it sounds like the cry of one in the throes of death. He does not have time to turn. Something sharp slices through bone and sinew, muscle and veins, and nestles mercilessly into his shoulder blade.
His mouth opens in a scream from which there is no sound. Wild whirls, slashes blindly. The axe falls and slices further as it does so. The ground tilts beneath him. His strikes do not make their desired contact. Air meets them, air thick with smoke and flame.
And from it come countless other lanterns. They bob like barrels on the turbulent waters, approaching with relentless determination.
Any emotion he had harbored before is gone now. Terror is all that is left.
Wild throws himself into a spin attack. His surroundings blur. Heat eats at his face, his body. Fire licks at the edges of his cloak.
The lanterns retreat slightly.
Again, laughter sounds.
Again, pain splinters through him.
Wild crumples with an axe in his thigh.
Find Twilight.
It is all he can do now, the only command he can give himself. It is enough to make him rise, enough to make him draw his own weapon of flame. Balls of fire surge forth, bouncing gallantly in every direction. Their searing crimson is welcome in a sea of cold.
They must hit something, because a screech splits the air. Encouraged, Wild swings again.
This time, he sees it hit. From the hands of a creature sewn like a haunted doll,
drops the axe that had very nearly relieved him of his head.
He flings more flame, sees an opening, and moves towards it as fast as his shredded leg will allow.
Blood rains in his wake, replacing the vibrant crimson of the leaves that have long since turned to ash. Agony lights up his every motion. There are tears in his eyes, pounding in his head. Still, the creatures come. Their lanterns converge, signaling their surrounding him on all sides. With reckless abandon, Wild swings at them.
“Twilight!” It would sound like a sob if it was able. Yet, still no sound escapes.
A spell of some sort, it must be. His jaw aches from its bindings.
Where…where is he?
He does not want to imagine the rancher lying limp in a bed of flame. He does not want to think of him suffocating on smoke. He cannot entertain the idea that Twilight has perished amongst the very stuff that sends him into a panic.
Gasping, Wild stumbles, falls. Claws find him instantly, ruthless in the way they pierce him. They scrape his flesh, expose his bones. He chokes. His weapon falls from his hand. Just as fast, their nails are in the back of his hand, digging through and into the mud beneath.
He looks up into the endless darkness of their gaping eye holes and sees death. There is no escape from it. He wants to run, wants to fight. But no strength surges miraculously within him. No salvation flits down from the heavens in hues of gentle, glittering pink. Nothing arrives to shatter the spell that holds him speechless.
Wild closes his eyes, grits his teeth. He begins to drag his hand through the claws, ripping through his palm. Spots of deepest black and brightest white explode against his eyelids. He opens his mouth and…
Screams.
His eyes fly open. His breath sticks in his throat. Through the stars exploding in his vision, through the tears and ash, dirt and blood, he sees him.
Twilight lunges in a blur of gray, stark against the pearly flame. Jaw wide, eyes flashing, he leaps at the creatures. Blood spurts through the air in furtive arcs, rising from the torn throats of the dead. It drips from his maw as he whirls on them like a beast possessed.
Though they try to tear at him with claw and axe, he is far faster. He weaves between them with expert precision. One after another they fall until all that remains of them are their lanterns and the crackling flames. And even these are smothered by the sudden coming of rain.
Dismal drizzles transform into a true Akkala onslaught within seconds. Smoke rises in graceful plumes. The scent of it melds with moisture and blood. It burns Wild’s throat and eyes.
Twilight limps towards him. The wounds he had fought through before now weigh heavily upon him. When he transforms in a cloud of shadow, he nearly collapses.
But he manages to make it to Wild’s side, to kneel beside him. What little energy the champion had clung to flees so quickly he practically falls into Twilight’s waiting arms. The steady beat of the rancher’s heart fills his ears. Relief floods in, turning leaden limbs weightless. It is almost enough to push aside the nauseating cacophony of screeching pain.
Almost.
“You’re alive,” he croaks, and the relief increases so much that it is dizzying. His lips form the words, his tongue pushes them forth, and they fall audibly upon the smoldering remains of their battle.
The spell, it seems, has broken with the collapse of the last opponent.
“Oh, cub.” Gentle fingers brush back wayward strands of hair. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize they were behind us. They must have cloaked themselves. And then I tried to find you, but with all the smoke I couldn’t smell you and I couldn’t hear anything and…”
His next inhale hitches. He holds him tighter.
“I thought I’d lost you.”
Wild presses his face into the rancher’s chest and tries to drown out the agony.
“I thought I’d lost you too,” he breathes. “I tried to call for you and I-I couldn’t. Twi, I couldn’t speak.”
He doesn’t mean for it to escape as a choked sob, and yet, it does. The pain pulsing through him, the remnant screams of his terror — it is all too much.
“I know those monsters,” Twilight says, voice hoarse and unsteady. “They’re from my time.  But they’ve never been that powerful before. They’ve never had spells. The Shadow must’ve enhanced their abilities.
“But to have taken your voice…oh, cub. I’m so, so sorry.”
A tear slithers down Wild’s cheek, nudging aside dirt and grime to make its way to his neck. It joins the blood pooled in dark splotches upon his tunic. He clings to Twilight as his consciousness slips through clawing fingers.
“It’s not your fault,” he whispers, words slurring as he begins his descent. “I’m just glad…that you’re here now.”

also aside from my snowgrave ch2 file i pretty much always focus on pacifism and never really bother to upgrade my weapons because of that. so now i'm stuck at the end of chapter 3 with the mane ax as my primary weapon because i already converted my points into dollars and have no way of buying a better weapon for susie.

JEVILSTAIL VS DEVILSKNIFE
A chapter-by-chapter analysis (MAJOR SPOILERS UP TO 4)
——————————————————
Chapter 1
Obtainment
Both the Jevilstail and Devilsknife are obtained through the Jevil fight. If you defeat Jevil with Ralsei’s Pacify spell, Jevil will give you his tail, and if you defeat him with violence, Jevil will turn into the Devilsknife and give himself to you.
Between the two, the Jevilstail is far easier to obtain. Jevil will become tired and sparable under 2 circumstances: if Hypnosis or Pirouette is performed enough times, or if 30 turns have passed and Jevil is in phase 5. If you play the fight more safely, the second condition will likely be satisfied while depleting Jevil’s health with violence.
Stats and Alternatives
In terms of raw stats, the Devilsknife has 5 attack and 4 magic, and the Jevilstail has 2 defense, attack, and magic. Devilsknife can only be equipped by Susie in her weapon slot, while any character can equip the Jevilstail in an armor slot. Devilsknife also has a secondary effect, lowering Rude Buster’s TP requirement from 50% to 40%. This does not apply to Red Buster.
In Chapter 1, Jevilstail is the best armor by leaps and bounds. It’s tied for the best defense with, in chronological order of obtainment, the White Ribbon, the Dice Brace, and the Iron Shackle. It and the Iron Shackle are the only armor in Chapter 1 to affect a stat other than defense. Jevilstail has the best attack of the chapter over the Iron Shackle at 1. The armor piece gives a total of 32 Rude Buster damage and 38 Red Buster damage, with its only alternative being the Iron Shackle, which provides 11 Rude Buster damage and 13 Red Buster damage, which can and, on Susie, should be stacked with Jevilstail. As the only chapter 1 armor to affect magic, it is one of the few (2) methods of improving Ralsei’s heal prayer, giving 10 more health per cast in battle.
In Chapter 1, the Devilsknife is Susie’s best weapon. Susie’s other weapons in Chapter 1 are the Mane Axe and Brave Axe. Mane Axe gives no stats, and the Brave Axe gives 2 attack. These weapons give 0 Rude or Red Buster damage for the Mane Axe, 22 Rude Buster and 26 Red Buster damage for the Brave Axe, and 75 Rude Buster and 89 Red Buster damage for the Devilsknife.
The effective benefit of the Devilsknife of 3 attack and 4 magic far outweighs the offensive benefits of the Jevilstail while opening the armor slot for equal or better defense and further offensive promotion. The Jevilstail’s flexibility enables setups that aren’t built on Susie’s damage, particularly around Ralsei’s healing or the defense of the party as a whole.

The King Fight
Compared to Jevil, King is an easy fight. No matter which item the player possesses, King will not need much effort to defeat. King can be defeated by surviving 15 turns or by dealing enough damage with little to no narrative impact from either choice.
Going the survival route, Jevilstail will be most helpful, as it increases the party’s overall defense and can improve Ralsei’s healing. However, due to the passive nature of the method, Jevilstail won’t speed up the fight, and the player should not have difficulty whether or not they use the Jevilstail, assuming they are capable of defeating Jevil.
Going the violence route, Devilsknife will be the most helpful, as it greatly increases Susie’s damage output, even without the weapon’s TP benefit applying to Red Buster. The weapon provides an increase of 63 Red Buster damage to Susie’s next best option in the Brave Axe. This is in comparison to Jevilstail’s far lower 38 Red Buster damage. The Devilsknife will meaningfully shorten the King fight compared to the Jevilstail and especially no Jevil items.
Chapter 2
Stats and Alternatives
Chapter 2 introduces multiple new weapons and armors to compare to the Jevil items. These have varying impacts on the viability of the Devilsknife and Jevilstail.
The viability of the Devilsknife remains largely unchanged from Chapter 1. The Autoaxe introduced in Chapter 2 only has 4 attack, still less than the Devilsknife’s 5. This does lower the effective increase in Rude Buster damage of the Devilsknife from 53 to 31, though it remains the best weapon for Susie.
Jevilstail completely loses its role as a high defense armor, with Swatch selling Royal Pins for D$1000 in Queens Mansion. As a 3 defense 1 magic armor that can be purchased infinitely, a Royal Pin will always be better than the Jevilstail in damage reduction. This is further compounded when fighting Spamton NEO by the Frayed Bowtie, whose Puppet/Cat elemental damage reduction makes up for its lower defense than either armor while providing an extra attack over the Royal Pin and equal magic. Other armors like the Chainmail, Twin Ribbon, and Dealmaker also beat the Jevilstail in defense, despite each only being obtainable once. However, the Twin Ribbon can only be obtained after the primary events of Chapter 2, and the Dealmaker can only be obtained after Spamton NEO.
As a support armor, Jevilstail has the second highest magic of any armor, beaten by the Dealmaker with 5 magic. The introduction of the Royal Pin and Frayed Bowtie limits the use of the Jevilstail as its effective magic increase decreases from 2 to 1, while also possessing lower damage reduction than any other option. Other support armors like the Silver Card, Silver Watch, Pink Ribbon, Twin Ribbon, Tension Bow, and Dealmaker, which give qualitative bonuses in their secondary effects, can also provide alternative support options through increased money gain, graze area, TP gain, and graze time impact.
As an offensive armor, Jevilstail is still the best. In attack, it is tied with the Spike Band, a 1 defense 2 attack armor that is only obtainable after the main events of chapter 2. The only new attack boosting armor in chapter 2 is the Frayed Bowtie, a 1 defense, 1 attack, 1 magic armor that can be bought infinitely but cannot be equipped by Susie. As such, the attack bonus of the Jevilstail is greater than the Devilsknife, for the Jevilstail continues to have an effective attack bonus of 2 while the Devilsknife lowers to 1. The Devilsknife’s greater magic does mean it provides an effective increase of 31 compared to the Jevilstail’s 27 when compared to a Royal Pin. If compared to the Iron Shackle, that number drops to 21, and when it’s compared to the Dealmaker, it becomes 7.

Spamton NEO
Spamton NEO is the secret boss of Chapter 2. He can be defeated either by cutting his wires through ACTing or violence. This will result in Spamton giving you the Dealmaker or Puppet Scarf respectively (they will not receive the same treatment as Jevil’s items because the Puppet Scarf sucks).
If sparing, the Jevilstail will be more effective due to the extra point of magic helping Ralsei’s healing. Due to the lack of a need for damage, the Devilsknife will be useless. Most benefit for surviving this fight will come from the Mannequin and Frayed Bowties, though.
If doing violence, the Devilsknife will be helpful. As previously established, the Devilsknife has an effective Rude Buster damage increase of 31 compared to the Jevilstail’s 27. When combined with the TP boost, it greatly increases Susie’s damage over the whole fight. However, the Puppet Scarf sucks don’t do this.
Queen
Queen is the final boss of Chapter 2. She is defeated either by loosening Berdly’s wire through ACTs or by depleting the health of Queen’s chair. During the fight, Queen will occasionally put up a shield, which can be destroyed through ACTs or more quickly through attacking.
Due to the shield’s implementation, the more beneficial item for the fight will be determined based on how aggressive the player’s play style is. For more aggressive players, a more damage-oriented setup with the Devilsknife will be better, as the shield can be taken down much more easily, allowing for faster progress in the fight. For safer players, the Jevilstail will be better due to the magic it provides, buffing Ralsei’s healing.
Snowgrave
The Weird Route is a necessary consideration for Chapter 2 when comparing the Devilsknife and Jevilstail. In the Chapter 2 weird route, Queen’s fight is skipped, and Spamton NEO replaces it as a solo Kris fight. Due to Susie’s uninvolvement, the Devilsknife is next to useless in this version of the chapter. However, the Jevilstail has a large impact on the route.
When initiating the Weird Route, Noelle must take out a large number of enemies with Ice Shock. This spell scales with magic, and the Jevilstail’s magic bonus increases the spell’s damage. This damage boost will allow four encounters to be completed in one less Ice Shock. 2 of these meet the damage threshold with the 3 magic bonus from Noelle’s Royal Pin and the Jevilstail, while 2 only need the Jevilstail. After obtaining the Freeze Ring, all armor should be unequipped from Noelle, as all thresholds will still be met, and anything equipped to her when fighting Berdly will be lost.
At the end of the Weird Route, Kris faces Spamton NEO alone with no option to spare him. They gain a new ACT in X-Slash to deal damage. The damage of this is calculated with the formula Damage=(19*Attack+199)/2 rounded down (This is derived from testing and not code). The Jevilstail, due to all 3 defense armors being inaccessible outside of Noelle’s Royal Pin, will continue to be an effective option for defense-oriented builds. Due to it also having the highest attack, it will also be a necessary addition in damage-focused builds, giving 19 X-Slash damage.
Chapter 3
Stats and Alternatives
Chapter 3 is where both the Jevilstail and Devilsknife start getting outclassed. With the introduction of new support armors, the Jevilstail’s value comes primarily from offensive capabilities, while the Devilsknife’s offensive power is lower when compared to new weapons.
The Jevilstail loses a large portion of its support viability with the introduction of the Blue Ribbon. This armor gives 1 defense and 1 magic, and it boosts the wearer’s healing by 13%. While it does have lower magic than the Jevilstail, the 13% healing boost means it gives .74 health per magic granted by Ralsei’s weapon or other armor over the Jevilstail. Jevilstail will begin outclassing the Blue Ribbon at -5 magic and below, discounting base magic and magic granted by the Blue Ribbon or Jevilstail. This can be achieved with the Puppet Scarf exclusively.
With the introduction of the Toxic Axe providing 6 attack, the Devilsknife is dethroned as the highest attack weapon for Susie. The effective damage increase for Rude Buster is also diminished to just 9, as the Toxic Axe grants 66 damage. This means that the Jevilstail’s effective increase of 10 damage over the Spike Band is greater than the Devilsknife by 1 damage. However, if compared to the Dealmaker, the Jevilstail’s effective increase is only 7, and in both cases, the Devilsknife still possesses its 10 TP discount on Rude Buster.

Due to the viability of the Jevilstail and Devilsknife being more qualitative and subjective, optimal setups for both will be provided.

Lode Stone
Susie
Devilsknife
Dealmaker
Shadow Mantle
Ralsei
Fiber Scarf
Twin Ribbon
Tension Bow
This is entirely based on personal opinion. This is not necessarily optimal, and others may find greater success and enjoyment with different setups.
Mr. Tenna
Tenna’s encounter in the Cold Place acts as a final boss for Chapter 3. Similarly to King, the fight can be beaten by ACTing or fighting, with either choice having little to no impact on the story.
The Jevilstail and the Devilsknife will have roughly identical utility when fighting for the reasons outlined in the stats section. The fight’s lack of a Red Buster ACT for attacking, unlike the final bosses for Chapters 1 and 2, means that the Devilsknife will maintain its TP-saving utility when using Rude Buster.
When sparing, the Jevilstail has a secret bonus, which sets Susie’s Bet ACT from betting 20 points to betting 30. The utility of this will depend on the player’s skill at not taking damage.
The Roaring Knight
The Roaring Knight is the secret boss, which is near-impossible to defeat without the Shadow Mantle obtained from the sword route. It is defeated by decreasing its health below 80% and surviving the final 2 attacks. During the fight, the Knight has damage reduction that will slowly decrease as the fight continues.
The Devilsknife will generally be the best choice for this fight. Due to the Knight’s damage reduction, the difference in damage between the Devilsknife and Jevilstail is negligible, being within 7 damage of each other without damage reduction. The Devilsknife’s reduced Rude Buster TP allows for more frequent use of the attack, eliminating the need to defend in particularly aggressive attempts, and allowing for Ralsei to heal in less aggressive attempts.
Chapter 4
Stats and Alternatives
In Chapter 4, the Devilsknife and Jevilstail both lose nearly all offensive potential in comparison to their alternatives. With the introduction of items like the Mystic Band, Power Band, Absorb Axe, and Justice Axe, neither the Jevilstail nor Devilsknife is included in max damage builds, and the Jevilstail is no longer included in max magic builds.
The Devilsknife in Chapter 4 shifts from its purpose from an offensive weapon to a healing weapon. With the introduction of new axes, the Devilsknife’s effective drops to -13 in comparison to the Absorb Axe and -57 in comparison to the Justice Axe. However, the Devilsknife continues to be the only axe to increase Susie’s magic, making it the best weapon to use in a healing build with her, a role made viable in Chapter 4 with her Better Heal spell.
The Jevilstail loses many of its viable roles with the introduction of the Power Band. The Power Band’s 4 attack provides 44 Rude Buster damage compared to the Jevilstail’s 32. If the Mystic Band is not picked up in the Dark Sanctuary, a second Power Band can be picked up in the same room in the 2nd Sanctuary in its place. If a Mystic Band is acquired, the Jevilstail does remain as a viable option in offensive builds.
Setups
Healing (Susie-focused)

Blue Ribbon
If not using Double Heal during the Titan fight, giving Ralsei defensive and support equipment, including the Scarf Mark, Tension Bow, Lode Stones, Twin Ribbon, Pink Ribbon, Tenna Tie, Gold Widow, or Wafer Guards to support Susie’s healing may produce more success.
Gold Widow can be replaced with any 1 magic armor. Gold Widow is just the best 1 magic armor.
*Purely recommendations; do not affect the main goal of the setup.

Kris
Black Shard

Gold Widow
Frayed Bowtie
Giving Kris and especially Ralsei defensive and support items like the Jingle Blade, Scarf Mark, Tenna Tie, Gold Widow, Twin Ribbon, Pink Ribbon, Tension Bow, Wafer Guards, and Lode Stones to support Susie’s damage output may produce better results.
Healing (Hammer of Justice)
Susie
Devilsknife
Dealmaker
Mystic Band
The Hammer of Justice
The Hammer of Justice is the secret boss of Chapter 4. He is defeated by surviving the final attack, though that can be reached more quickly by impressing him through various means. This boss is a solo Susie fight and does not allow items. When defeated, the Hammer of Justice will give the Justice Axe, a +12 attack weapon for Susie, and Susie’s OK Heal will be upgraded to Better Heal.
The Devilsknife will be better for surviving this fight. Due to the extra magic, each of Susie’s heals during the fight will provide 8 extra health. However, the Absorb Axe’s secondary effect of providing 10% max health on successful hits and 2 hp in the Hammer of Justice fight, as no hits are successful in the fight.
Jevilstail’s lack of defense compared to other armor and its lack of magic compared to Devilsknife and other armor make it functionally useless for this fight. Jevilstail excels in whole party damage setups, both aspects of which are not present in the Hammer of Justice fight.
The Titan
The Titan acts as the final boss of Chapter 4. It is defeated by bringing it to 50% health, after which the fight cannot be lost. The Titan has a large damage reduction unless the Unleash ACT is used. If the Unleash ACT is used, the Titan will instead have a damage multiplier.
The Devilsknife will generally be better for the Titan fight. Due to the high TP cost of Unleash, Rude Buster can only be cast while the Titan’s shield is down if a Tension Gem or Tension Max is used. This is unnecessary and wasteful. Therefore, the increased Rude Buster damage with Jevilstail is not helpful.
The Double Heal ACT available during the Titan fight utilizes the sum of Ralsei and Susie’s magic. The increased magic afforded by the Devilsknife will provide greater utility than the Jevilstail, even if Ralsei has to use 1 magic armor.
Future Chapters
Based on the trends established in Chapters 1–4, the Devilsknife will continue to be the best in its role as a magic-focused weapon for Susie, while Jevilstail will get progressively more outclassed.
In the first four chapters, the Devilsknife is the only Axe affecting magic. This will likely change within the next few chapters, though, based on already established trends, any additions will likely not outclass the Devilsknife. Deltarune tends to avoid magic as a stat boost, especially in weapons. For example, the Dainty Scarf, a chapter 1 weapon for Ralsei that grants 2 magic, has not been outclassed in magic within the first four chapters. The Fiber Scarf, arguably Ralsei’s best weapon, was introduced in chapter 2 and only has 2 magic and 2 attack. In Susie’s weapons, the Absorb Axe and Justice Axe, weapons built mechanically or narratively around Susie’s healing, do not boost her magic. The highest boost I can reasonably see an axe giving in chapter 5 or 6 is 3 magic, one less than the Devilsknife.
The Jevilstail, on the other hand, has already been outclassed in all regards and will likely continue to be outclassed. Already ousted from min-maxing builds by armors such as the Mystic Band, Power Band, and Dealmaker, the Jevilstail primarily occupies a niche as a balance of attack, magic, and defense. However, Deltarune has proven willing to introduce particularly powerful armors with the same niche, such as the Gold Widow. It is reasonable to assume that other armors like the Jevilstail, Gold Widow, or Frayed Bowtie will be introduced, further outclassing the Jevilstail.
In conclusion, the Jevilstail is generally the better option in chapter 2 due to its versatility and use in attaining the very powerful Dealmaker. However, its use begins to drop off in Chapter 3 before being fully outclassed in Chapter 4. The Devilsknife, while maintaining utility as a damage-dealer through chapters 1–3, begins to stand out in chapter 4 as a healing-based support weapon and will likely continue to do so. Therefore, it is my personal opinion that the Devilsknife is the better option, though the 2 items are exceptionally well balanced.
