I'm pretty sure my upcoming execution of semi-formal is not it.

Um.

I'm kinda counting on the bride hopefully being a fair amount of hick and not holding a grudge.

But also I can't stand to sacrifice who I am for an event so I am dressing up a lot but with things I will wear over and over.

This is the dress I'm wearing in the hair and makeup photo on the right. It's a summery piece, kinda casual but also nice. I'll learn to tie pretty bows for it. My hair and makeup will be as on the right. My shoes are this style. It's September. In the south. They're fine.

But there's also uhhhh

This? That if it gets here in time I intend to carefully and temporarily affix cuts of fabric atop the build of the stays.

And my clutch will be the bag from this.

Probably not a typical interpretation of "semi formal" but I think the fabric I choose to cover the stays with has a big hand in dressing it up.

Although the shoes might change.

I have some similar to this. A little lighter color and cover more of the calf, but, mayyyyyybe? Idk for sure

If the stays are late I'll have to find a nice belt. Or hell, where the belt that comes with the bag? Without the bag on it. I don't know.

I am putting a lot of effort into this.
