You've opened a veritable Pandora's box of posts for me. Prepare for yapping (nothing new...).

Current semi-achievable holy grail is a Rickenbacker 330. The part that makes it hard to get is the fact I want - no, NEED - the Fireglo finish. And also they tend to show up everywhere except near me. Seriously. I really don't want to go to Sydney. God though. That thing is perfect. I would smile for one million years if I acquired one. I need that jangle. And I also need the aura + street cred attached to it.

The 1964 Gibson Trini Lopez will always be up there. Likely in a black finish. Just the tone of that thing... the comfort... I have never played a more beautiful (or more expensive) guitar. What an instrument dude. I think ultimately though it will always be more of an art piece to me than an actual guitar. I can't fathom owning it unless I'm rich and famous and have lost sight of where I came from (entry-level 90s third-hand-twice-stolen Washburn strat dupe)

My next reachable goal, however, (once I have more than 50 dollars) is a Johnny Marr Jaguar. I almost bought one yesterday (except it was 2k out of my budget + sold literally JUST before I got there). Gorgeous sound, and a build that really is one of the best things Fender's put out in a while. Plus I am a JM fanboy but we could have figured that out from the Rickenbacker

Another semihollow, if you can guess what my favourite tone is, is just a basic Epiphone 335 or Casino. Very reachable as well, if I manage to find $1500 lying around

Misc gear - I need a Vox AC30. Spiritually. I tried a mini Vox for my music school audition and it made my cheap guitar sound like genuine heaven. A really beefy Orange would be nice for the aesthetics too

Some small and scary part of me wants a Gibson Firebird as well. Maybe it's because my dad hates them quite frankly

Regardless though, i can check one off of the list (in my notes as "really nice Stratocaster".) One like and I'll make a fancam of my new guitar. Mostly for my own gratification

After a night of teenage rebellion, Kathleen got pregnant at just 16. Incensed, Kathleen’s parents, the reverend and his fervently religious wife, kicked her out. Adam’s family was only slightly less coldhearted, giving them was would have been Adam’s college fund to buy a trailer in the Trailer Park. Adam dropped out to work full time in construction. Kathleen also dropped out soon after to work. After Meredith’s birth, Kathleen struggled with post partum depression, and was fired from her job. Adam started working overtime to support them at his construction job. As his hours grew longer he became more and more exhausted, until one day he suffered an accident while working and died, leaving Kathleen and Meredith alone.

Following her husband’s death, Kathleen was forced to reenter the workforce. Her depression only grew worse and she started drinking. She was fired from various jobs, and was only able to keep afloat by the payments Adam’s family sent her and Meredith regularly. However, when Meredith was 12, her paternal grandparents passed sway in short succession, leaving them utterly and completely alone. As years passed, Kathleen’s substance abuse only grew more severe, and Meredith often took up babysitting or odd jobs around the town to contribute to the household. When Meredith was 14, She returned home from work to find her mother dead on the floor of an overdose.

Grandparents: Martin and Dorothy Booker

After her mother’s death, Meredith was sent to live with her estranged grandparents. However, the arrangement was anything but peaceful. Long since having given up on any beliefs of a higher power, Meredith frequently clashed with her heavily religious Reverend grandfather and Sunday School teaching grandmother. As well, their strict rules, curfew and mandatory prayer and churchgoing chafed her independent personality. The tumultuous household simmered slowly, until October 1983. Three days before Halloween, Meredith got in a screaming match with her grandmother which ended with her grandfather intervening and slapping her, she slapped him right back. Well, that didn’t go over well, and in a similar sight as one 15 years before, Meredith was summarily kicked to the curb and told not to come back.

~ Personality & Traits ~

Personality: Described by most as a prickly, rude individual, Meredith exudes an air of irritation. Defensive, cynical and even mean, Meredith is reluctant to let people in past her walls. Despite her closed off nature, Meredith places great trust and care in those she trusts. Her love is hard won but loyal and nearly unbreakable. Meredith is a loner, and prefers to spend most of her time alone. She rarely shows her emotions, and reacts in anger when people catch a glimpse. Meredith struggles to relax and let her guard down. She often ‘tests’ people to see their reactions and if they are trustworthy.

Priorities: Her friends safety as well as her own

Weaknesses: Often pushes people away, holds grudges, can be mean

Fatal Flaw: Her distrust of others

Jonathan Byers

Jonathan Byers and Meredith Gibson met in freshmen year Photography class. She was a dirty trailer park slut, he was a weird perverted freak, can I make it any more obvious? They were fast allies, and slow friends. When Meredith called him, asking if she could stay at the Byers’ for a few days or weeks while she figured things out, he said yes. Two weeks later, Will Byers went missing, and Meredith found herself diving headfirst into literally another world. While horrifying monsters ate scientists faces off, it’s surprisingly easy to for wires to get crossed and friendships to turn into relationships. Jonathan and Meredith dated for a few months, but neither’s hesrt was really in it. Jonathan loved Nancy, and Meredith just wasn’t in love with him.

Steve Harrington

Always a staunch hater of King Steve “The Hair” Harrington, Meredith was fully prepared to wield her hatchet against him if it came down to it. Or even if it didn’t. But, it’s surprisingly easy to fall for someone when they save your life a few times, and give a very charming apology. By New Year’s 1985, Meredith was a goner, and so was Steve. What can I say? He’s always had a thing for smart brunettes who wield weapons. When you mix teenagers in love with alcohol and a New Year’s Eve party, you get a pretty goddamn cinematic kiss. And Meredith’s never been one for bashfulness, so things came easily from then.

~ Misc and Notes ~

Meredith lives in a shoebox apartment a block away from the auto-mechanic shop she works at. It has leaky windows, stairs so narrow you can barely fit more than one person up at a time, and a neighbour who seems to delight in having unrealistically loud sex at 6 in the morning.

Mer has semi-adopted a stray cat who comes by her apartment, she calls him Mister and feeds him. He comes and goes from her apartment.

Growing up, Meredith was often bullied for her cheap, secondhand clothing.

She used one of her first pay checks to buy herself a camera.

She likes cold pizza more than hot pizza and often has a box she eats out of for a couple days at a time.

She graduated high school a year early by condensing her junior and senior years into one.

When Adam died, her mother bought a gun incase of intruders. When Meredith was 12, Kathleen tried to shoot her while on a bender, thinking she was an intruder. Meredith buried the gun in the backyard when her mom passed out.

She found her record player in a dumpster behind her apartment and fixed it up with Steve’s help.
