It’s such a small moment and maybe I just have brain rot or something but in the beginning when Splinter is talking abt why he hates humans it’s Mikey specifically that chimes in with that little “you don’t know that.” And just UGH

Even just by his tone you can tell that he knows his words aren’t going to change anything because they’ve had this conversation too many times. But also Mikey was the one Splinter almost lost that day, like if Splinter was any slower Mikey would’ve been gone.

And you just know in the minds of children Mikey equated their isolation from humans as being his fault because he almost got ran over as a baby.

Like I don’t wanna say it because sometimes leads to unnecessary angst, but children who grow up isolated from everyone else believing that they can’t confide in their parent often blame themselves for their parents decisions.

Donnie and Raph back talk and make fun of Splinter the most but Mikey does it like once and Leo does it never. So you can tell Leo and Mikey don’t get upset with their father, they get upset with themselves for the way things are and I just

It’s time for TMNT headcanons again!

Here’s the first post I made a while ago.

This has been in my drafts for a few months now, so have at it.

2003

Donnie went down a deep rabbit hole on the multiverse after Turtles Forever. Raph had to listen to him talk about and eventually drag him away form the whole thing every time.

Leo and Mikey have spots under their eyes. They’re a lighter shade of green than their scales. You can’t see them usually because of their masks.

In turn, Raph and Donnie have spots on the palm of their hands. Donnie on his left, Raph on his right. If they hold hands the spots over lap. The spots look like little hearts.

Raph and Donnie are twins. Change my mind. The og disaster twins. They walked to Rise disaster twins could run.

2012

Puppy dog eyes work wonders on Leo. All his brothers use it against him, even Raph.

Raph has a heart shaped spot in his shoulder. Donnie has one to match him on his neck.

(Jonatello) Casey kisses the heart spot on Donnie’s neck a lot. He loves doing that.

Leo actually has some faint freckles like Mikey. They just faded out as he got older. If they stay at the farmhouse long enough in summer and go out in day time, they’ll be more visible.

Raph and Donnie are twins. Anger Management Duo my beloved. As the middle children with anger issues they were in time out a lot and one day just decided they were twins.

They made Mikey think they have twin thelepahy. He still believes it years later. Leo believed it for a hot minute too.

They solely became twins to spite their brothers. Mikey was obsessed with the idea of twins for a bit and Leo thought it’s cool too. While Raph and Donnie didn’t really care for the idea, Leo and Mikey got them stuck in time out. Mikey pranked them, they wanted revenge and Leo snitched. Mikey and Leo can’t have a twin if the middle children are twins. 😈

Rise

Donnie and Leo need glasses. But only Donnie wore them when they were kids. Nowadays they mostly wear contacts but they do wear their glasses often too. Mainly when they’re at home.

All four brothers the same happy stim. They wag their tails. I wrote a fic where I included that. Here. But basically it started like this, when Raph was just a normal turtle he found wagging his tail fun and just did it. Then the twins can along and copied him and then Mikey copied them as well. And despite their mutation it just stayed.

Raph turning savage is not really a thing anymore post Season 2 finale. The turtles can feel each others ninpo and knowing his brothers are always with him in a way helps keep his separation anxiety in check. It might still happen but it’s also easier to snap him out of it now.

The turtles are bilingual. They know English and Japanese. Obviously Leo also knows Spanish. They spoke more Japanse growing up, until they met April. They also taught April Japanese. Cassandra is Latina/Korean and knows English, Spanish and Korean as her native languages but learned Japanese when she joined the Foot. CJ knows all four languages, always has. In the bad timeline Cass only spoke Korean with him, April only English, Leo only Spanish and Raph only Japanese. Mikey and Donnie spoke both English and Japanese with him.

Medic Leo. But also, full blown doctor Leo. After the movie he, with Draxums help, got a doctorate degree in the Hidden City.

As much as Leo enjoys being a doctor and fixing people he’s also very interested in dissecting things. He almost dissected Warren once. Raph stopped him. But no one knows if he’ll try doing it again. Spoiler: he will.

Older twin Donnie supremacy here. That said, he may be second oldest but he has no authority over the other two.

Tales/MM

Donnie got April into K-Dramas. They watch them together.

The reason Raph is missing a tooth is Mikey. Mikey accidentally knocked him over the head with his nunchucks and Raph stumbled into a pole. Then he tooth was gone.

Mikey is the medic in this one. I just thought it’d be cool since he he seemed pretty interested in it during the mechazoid arc.

in a nutshell:

raphael is portaled™ into mm/tottmnt verse and amidst a nervous breakdown realizes he's in the place he's always dreamed of.

I adore the idea of playing with themes like separation anxiety, his weakness for children and relatively chill life (!!!!) (I can already feel it getting old by the time the second movie comes out)

I think by the end of the story he'll adopt them all /j

also random stuff (will be under cut because holy hell it got very long very fast)

·raph's having a hard time getting used to splinter, who is a "dad", instead of "sensei/master" <- he'll call him "old man" cuz he is embarrassed as hell

·bro's scared shitless of scumbug. like he pretends he's okay in her company, but really he's like, "get me out of here, please, I want to get away as far, as mutantly possible"

·he often suffers from panic attacks, especially when the kids are in school. in those cases don allowed him to use his beanbag (it calms him down), splinter usually pours a special tea blend and when everyone is home, mikey usually sits close to raph and plays/talks about everything in the world to relax and distract him

·for the first 6-8 months he had a very hard time getting to the surface, because every time he went out, he was paranoid and felt like he was constantly being watched

·poor guy was intimidated by how much mm boys are touchy-feely/eager going for a hug. it took leo a couple months just to prove that "hugging is ok" (because god forbid 4Kids do anything more than HANDSHAKE or PATTING a SHOULDER/PLASTRON)

·from the very beginning he and donnie had a complete misunderstanding, like they're from different planets or smth. eventually don will find something to get raph hooked on anime (jojo, maybe?) and that will allow them to tolerate each other better

·leo is happy to not feel like the oldest for once. surprisingly, they are very well matched personality-wise, like yes, raph often banters with him, but there is not much fighting, and it doesn't come to full on outbursts with biting like with mm raph (😭)

·speaking of mm raph, he found himself the best sparring partner :) I also think they would go to the surface every night (when '03 raph will feel better, of course) just to kick some ass. <- casey'll be tagging along with them (and then everyone would get an hour-long lecture from leo)

·with tons of free time (despite splinter's offers to go to school with the others) he finds himself an irl telenovela as leo comes up with 1000 and 1 ways to win april's heart (he's friendzoned for life). at first he was drawn in purely for shits and giggles, but the longer leo's plans failed, the more raph wanted to unironically support him

·april has seen so many strange things over the last year, that the appearance of an alternative version of a familiar turtle somehow seems very normal. jones is just ecstatic - "a huge turtle???? fell out of a portal?????? from a universe where you constantly had to save the world from an alien?????? who is also a ninja clan master??????? that's fuckin' metal as hell, bro!!!!!!!!!!"

·casey had to practically stalk mm raph nonstop to get the name of the cool turtle out of him, to which he always got the "trust me bro, you don't wanna know this"

You think I pick one of the Mikeys I in truth love more or rather am far more familiar with but thats also why I wanna do 87 Mikey first personally speaking. I feel he's kind of the more different one out of all my Mikey's even back when I used to write for Rise before decided it was to hard to write for a series i just didn't like XD Anyway back to the original party dude uwu

✍ Favorite thing about writing the muse?

Compared to 03/12/SF and MM Mikey 87 Mikey to me at least feels like he's just a tad more mature he isn't really slotted into the 'baby' of the family roll that would become Mikey's placement later one. There is unofficially stated that Mikey may even be older, in terms of age order. Placing him as second oldest after Leo. But also still kind of given the usual role as seen as youngest based on how the others can treat him at times. Mikey still the goof ball of the family but this Mikey dose feel older like he kind of knows better when to goof off and when not. It just makes for a different vibe when i do write the 87 version of Mikey

👀Favorite thing about the muse’s appearance?

unlike later iterations 87 has nothing really to set the turtles apart when it comes to thier design outside weapons and colors. Which shows considering all the miss coloring mishaps in the original series XD

I do however like the more round look the turtles have often referring to them as being jelly bean shape seeing how they wanted to make this show more kid friendly that dose just seem aid in the design

Mikey is like the one turtle I feel I mainly enjoy tcest ships for because outside that? I have no one else I like to ship him with even Mikey's cannon partner i just don't care for if im honest XD

that being said I preferer Leo and Mikey the most in 87 (and others but we aint talking about that) Mikey being more mature is funny because he's often more the voice of reason at times and far more sympathy to others. Leo's not weighed down by resonplibilty in the 87 series but you do see these two easily on the same page a lot. And I just enjoy that.

The only other charater in 87 I ship Mikey with? Is Mondo it's hard not to esp cause they legit were dreaming of each other? Raphael even calls that romantic sure he was teasing but come on? Mikey and Mono get along so well in the 87 series they just bring out a side of Mikey you would expect to see more it's like Mondo reminds Mikey he can have more fun

Kala would be it XD I just don't really care for her if im honest shes very one off to me and I don't really see much else to come from here. Unlike Mona where I can see some potential for her coming back, Kala? not really XD and I hope she stays gone pfft sorry Mikey.

imma be honest? I got nothing, I love 87 Mikey he really is enjoyable to me. I know he don't get much love on my blog but I really do just find him to a comfort to see on screen.

😈Worst thing you’ve ever done to your muse?

I think i've been very nice to 87 mikey if im honest? The worst thing I could say would when he got drunk and kind of flirted with Von. It wasn't even him meaning to flirt more him just being so annoyed at how she well lets Don get away with. Mikey was the one Don vented to about his heart break over April that lead to his blow out with Raph and then his stupid plan when Von was coming to see him. Only for Don to pretty much ignore her? It's not even like Mikey feels for her in that way he just hates seeing her allow it and Don not do a thing to fix it XD but it did make Don feel threatened by Mikey and he hates that in truth ;3;

😂Funniest thing that’s ever happened to your muse?

Being Casey's wingman, there is just something about Mikey and Casey relationship I love between them.

But the fact he picked up on Casey's own crush on Raph when this dude is well always wearing a mask for one and seems to only ever be focused on jaywalkers and the like I think its funny how quick Mikey pegged him for being gay uwu

Which in turn sort of bites Mikey in the ass cause hes now like the marriage consular for Raph and Casey, cause he helps them he also has the same role for Don and Von XD and I think it's funny in truth.

💡 What inspires you to write the muse?

in comparison to 87 Raph i'll admit that I do need to watch the show in order to really be able to pick up Mikey XD Or read the run of the comics going on those have helped a bit as well when I think about it. Mainly cause he is just a bit different for one so i need to have a good grip on his character before I go on in with any replies sent his way.

I haven't gone too deep on this Mikey in truth so really I guess that I like Mikey is far more sympathic towards humans Like Leo is. Mikey not only wants to do whats right by others but clearly wants to understand them. Maybe it's because he has spent his whole life consuming human media that it makes him have some idea about them or maybe Mikey just feels that showing empathy will someone get humans to do the same.

He's not all wrong they have some human friends after all who would even try and save them if they need it like how they help humans out all the time. Proving Raph wrong when he was being prickly over that same matter.

Mikey just truly is the heart of the turtles I feel and he shows it in many ways.

📝 Favorite headcanon for your muse?

Mikey being empathic to others, it just makes for him to be a good support in many situations I would say

Mikey is the cook in the family, hes often making Pizza so him being the one to be the cook makes sense and I feel it just gose well with him being empathic and such

Mikey knows the best thing to make his brothers when they are upset. Later he learns this for others Like Casey and Von and Summer and eventually Ariel as well ;3;

Mikey is genderfuild in this verse as well but it's not something he is aware of do to it not being made known at this time. Mikey dosen't think much on it he tends to think his gender stuff is turtle related so he hasn't ever really put a second to thinking about it. But shows in a few ways since he dosen't care if hes not refered to in male pronouns and such.

😒 Is there anything canon about your muse that you ignore?

at best his girlfriend haha XD theres like nothing else I can think of that comes close to being openly ignored is all.

🔮 What do you see in your muse’s future?

i'll be honest im not really sure? I think Mikey will keep trying to help people how ever he is able to. I think he generally loves doing it if thats as being a hero or just being a good friend it makes Mikey happy to feel he is able to be there for others I feel.

I think he'll love becoming an uncle to Summer and Ariel and will often offer to watch them at any chance given just cause he likes spending the time around the two babies ;3;

Maybe seeing how 87 humans are later aware of the turtles and having them run around with out covering up they are turtles is a thing Mikey can have his own pizza shop one day uwu I think he'd enjoy that making pizza for others uwu

XD I dunno tbh? maybe that the surfer dude vide dosen't fit him I think it dose considering his good vibes and such if you ever met a big time surfer person you would see how that fits with Mikey just fine. not quite like a hippe vibe though I see why people compare those but Mikeys just very chill and goes with the flow.

💭 Favorite memory of the muse?

Briefly mentioned but in general? I just love Mikey's friendship with Casey, where in like 03 Mikey is far more a like younger sibling to Casey in 87 it feels a bit different likely due to 87 Mikey coming off as older for one but Casey seems to see Mikey in a different matter in the 87 verse. Casey looks to Mikey for advice and help when it came to exploring his crush on Raph. Even letting Mikey dress him up again for his and Raph's first date.

Of course I can't ever forget how Mikey had Casey's side when it came to Casey being upset with Raph about the whole food matter. Mikey understood Casey being so upset with Raph and even explained to his brother how he was in the wrong about the whole matter and why Casey was hurt in the first place at that. So when Casey was feeling petty and brought brownies for Mikey to try? yeah he indulged XD

They have this very cute dynamic between them and I think it's nice that Casey has a friend among the turtles outside of Raphael uwu

😩 Hardest thing about writing the muse?

In truth the more tame nature this Mikey carries would be what I can struggle with at times. As stated before 87 Mikey is very different from the other mikeys on my page. Where he got some main points that match he dosen't have that bratty younger brother character trait to him so it dose tend to be trouble on what his reaction would be cause well he still very mikey he aint got that part of him. Which is a trait im used to so not having it can make it hard when writing him XD

⌨ What’s a situation you’ve always wanted to RP with the muse?

I know its been settled on Von's end BUUUT I would like to RP out the fall out of Mikey's drunk flirting with Donnie. Donnie got jealous of course and even upset with Mikey but we never explored that and I think we should uwu Sure Mikey fights with his brothers but he never real deals with any fall out with them. Like Raph and Don have but thats different cause well it's Raph and Don. This is Mikey so its not something that happens as often or can be easily mended I feel.

I think Mikey needs to be there for Casey with this Summer stuff going on, of course Raph is here but I think Casey needs someone outside of Raph, maybe in that between time from Summer first showing up to Casey coming into the lair. And since Casey tends to listen to Mikey or consider what he has to say? i think it be good for him ;3;

I’ve seen people’s take on the ages of the MM turtles (Leo’s the oldest, Mikey’s the oldest, Raph and Mikey are twins, etc) and here’s MY TAKE:

They’re quadruplets

Look I don’t know about you guys but for once in my time in the fandom I’ve truly felt they’re the same age (or relatively on the maturity level). It could be the teenager/pre-teen VAs, but I don’t get the same ‘they’re different ages’ energy from the MM boys.

Like although Leo’s the anxious one I don’t get the feeling he’s the most anxious because he’s the oldest and the leader and blah blah blah. He’s just a teen full of anxiety.

And Mikey doesn’t feel like the youngest to me (because the scene he had with talking about the watermelon being like his head) but not like the oldest either (because he’s equally fooling around with Raph and Donnie). He’s isn’t some young goofball baby of the family but not a cool oldest sibling either.

And same thing with Raph and Donnie. Donnie for more obvious reasons mostly because the VA I’m gonna be honest but just his general demeanor. He feels like a teenager who happens to be smart, not someone who’s smart but happens to be a teenager.

And Raph doesn’t give me ‘edgy wishes to be leader roughy guy’ he’s just a jock teen who wants to do sports. He doesn’t give off the same ‘second oldest’ energy all the other Raphs (minus Rise Raph) have.

TL;DR: It could just be the VAs and the fact we only got a few scenes in the trailer, but I don’t feel like the MM boys have like ‘youngest to oldest’ energies like most TMMT incarnations do. When I compare them side-by-side they all just feel like quadruplets with different personalities.

Summary: 

Takes place in the ‘87 Universe in 1997, 6yrs after the show is finished (may be inaccurate to canon! Haven’t finished ‘87 yet). Both the Rise boys and ‘12 Boys come from 2009 in their respective universes. The Rise and ‘12 Kids are together for about a week b4 they are found by the ‘87’ Turtles, that week actually being spent in the 2012 universe. Lil Donnie was nearly finished on a device to communicate with Rise Splinter, before he and the rest of the kids ended up in the 1987 world. ‘12 Splinter gets it to work and keeps in contact with Rise Splinter, they’re worried sick but seen as the Rise boys where sent straight to ‘12 Splinter they are hoping that something similar happened with both of their kids. I want them to not know what’s going on at first but I also don’t want this au to be too angsty, hence the Splinters being able to communicate pretty much straight away. 1 1/2 months in The Donnie’s have found a way to commincate with the other Splinters! though they can’t send the kids back until some science-y thing is stable, which will be in 2 months. The whole thing lasts about 3 1/2 months. I think the 2012 Kraang will be responsible, which is why little 12yr old Donnie could make a communication device to the rise universe so quickly but 1987 Donnie couldn’t.

once again Comparing/Crossing over ROTTMNT with Something Else™. Today I bring you Fire Emblem Fates Rottmnt ! I'm thinking abt this as if it were an AU and the turtles take up the royal childrens' places. This is gonna be long, TLDR at the end.

First obv is deciding which side they're on and I do that by basing their personalities off of the other characters. So I was thinking Nohr. I think Hoshido would be a good fit for the sake of "Being The Good Guys" and Karai would make a great Mikoto, but the 4 siblings just. don't fit for the Rise Siblings, I don't think. Ryoma for Raph MAYBe works? Takumi for Leo or Donnie is like. Alright. I can't see Hinoka being anyone and Sakura is way too shy and (for lack of a better word) weak ? And I think I'd want April to be Corrin, only cuz I don't know who else Corrin could be.

I find the Nohr Siblings to be the best fit. Xander as Raph, alright I can see some differences but mainly I think it works. Camilla as Leo I think it alright. They're both laid back but deadly and. Look, they're both the face people. Kind of. Camilla is definitely self aware though. Leo as Donnie ??? literally a perfect match idc. My first was she's Venus de Milo (i know not rottmnt technically) but she could also just be Big Mama's Assistant since I feel like they're definitely supposed to be a turtle. I also have never read or seen anything where Venus was in so maybe their personalities don't fit at all. April as Corrin also doesn't seem exactly right (mostly to me just cuz Corrin's the third youngest, but April's the oldest in the show) But it could still work I think kind of. Alternatively Casey could be Corrin? Might be a better fit? Then maybe April could be Azura ,, same 1st letter of their names ,,, But I think April Corrin works alright (especially if Karai is Mikoto :3) Mainly cuz I don't think April for Azura works that well, they're pretty different
