I LOVE your virenic/erenic terms a lot and was wondering does it have a general term for that? Like a term for being a specific gender no matter how the rest of your gender changes or move, and/or viewing the rest of your gender identity through that specific gender lens? That would be amazing!!
Tumblr media
There is no general term for erenic, virenic, and others, so I came up with one and made a flag!
We can call this coregenic, a type of gender that stays the same at its "baseline" no matter how much the gender around it changes.
It combines core with gen, as in "gender", while keeping the -nic ending seen in the terms that fall under it. The flag uses the pale orange and yellow from all those terms, with gray stripes representing a baseline gender. A white stripe separates these two halves to show that the part that remains the same is its own part of the identity.
And since I made the coregenic flag this way, with the additional white stripe, I decided to remake all of the flags under this umbrella!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In order:
Virenic
Erenic
Androgynic
Enbinic
Neutrinic
Centrinic
The new format for the flags really helps them stand out, especially with that off-center white stripe. - 💙💚

[Image ID: An alternate Neut(gender) flag created by Gent of Gender-Jargon. The flag consist of six, horizontal stripes of the same size. From top to bottom, the stripes are burgundy, desaturated magenta, light lavendar, tan, desaturated green and dark green. ./. End ID]
Neut: a gender identity related to one's usage of It/Its/Itself pronouns to communicate a sense of self that is disconnected from humanity, "other" and/or neuter, but not genderless.
Also called Neutgender.
[PT: Neut: a gender identity related to one's usage of It/Its/Itself pronouns to communicate a sense of self that is disconnected from humanity, "other" and/or neuter, but not genderless. Also called Neutgender.]
Etymology
[PT: Etymology]
The etymology of this term is unknown. Neut(gender) was coined by tumblr user Wingsdownmyspine in March 2020. The Neutgender pride flag and an expanded definition were reposted to Beyond-Mogai-Pride-Flags by Mod Fy two days later.
"Neut" is likely an abbreviation of "Neuter" or "Neutral", but this has not been confirmed by the original coiner of the term.
Flag
[PT: Flag]
The original flag was created by the coiner at the same time as the term. This flag consists of four horizontal stripes of the same size. From top to bottom, they are black, grey, white and red. The meaning of the original flag is unknown.
Due to being almost completely identical to the Asocial flag designed two years prior to Neutgender, I took it upon myself to make an alternate flag, which is the main purpose of this post.
This alternate flag consists of six, horizontal stripes of the same size. From top to bottom, the stripes are burgundy, desaturated magenta, light lavender, tan, desaturated green and dark green. Each stripe has the following meanings:
The burgundy stripe represents being Neut.
The magenta stripe represents disconnection from humanity.
The light lavender represents a present sense of gender.
The tan stripe represents the usage of It/Its pronouns (as opposed to They/Them).
The light green stripe represents otherness.
The dark green stripe represents neuterness/neutrality.
The burgundy stripe is a homage to the original flag that used red alongside a monochrome color palette.
Alternate flag by Gent of Gender-Jargon, April 2024.

After pouring over the ancient tomes (archived Tumblr posts) and learning that stellarian is not an alignment, but a descriptor for a type of alignment (and is the name of a type of person and not identity per se,) I might find myself using this term.
Still. It's not a gender. Not in the way I need it to be. I can still be stellarian but I'm still looking for a comgender and unambiguous version of neutrois to use for myself. I found something called neutrugender but I don't like the way it sounds and I have an aversion to using a label that has the -gender ending (which I know is a really weird hangup to have.) I want to coin something related to stars to reference the stellarian label and I need it to specifically fit my gender: Neutrine, unambiguous, tangible, and not strongly gendered but a way to balance out the strongly gendered male part of my bigender experience.

Intersex Neu Pride Flag
Tumblr media
Intersex (IS): umbrella term for innate variations that don’t fit the typical binary notions of male or female sex traits.
Neutrine or neutral (neu or neut): qualities or attributes regarded as characteristic of neutrois people; or a presentation associated with neutrinity or gender neutrality.
Not to be confused with interneu or interneutral, though it can include them, along with ulterneu (ulterneutral) and ipsoneu (ipsoneutral), this one is regardless of gender identity or modality, or birth assigment (ASAB/AGAB), and not inherently associated with the inter-system.

Anyone want to suggest a word for neutral gender presentation if "androgynous" is out of play on this front?

I saw that neutrine didn't have a flag (that I could find) so I made one! I think neutral gender flags deserve some color instead of being green and gray. I like how this color palette turned out! - 💙💚
(EDIT: There is a flag and I just failed to find it. Consider this my take on it!)

What are the gender qualities of agender, neutrois, and androgyne?
I thought they were just genderless, neutral, and androgynous, but I'm not so sure after learning about agenerine (the gender quality of agender specifically, instead of just genderless).
Is neutral not actually the proper counterpart to neutrois, and same for androgynous and androgyne? They're spelled similarly, and I thought they were meant to be used together, but like I said I'm not so sure anymore.
Did I make a bit of an oopsie by pairing those 6 terms like that? Should the gender quality of agender be referred to as agenerine (only), and I don't know, neutrine and angine for neutrois and androgyne?

Note
I asked that because I saw some defining epicenity as midbinary neutrality. Like a "neither" that is depended on the binary, if the binary didn't exist, then it wouldn't also exist. Does that make sense? Or would it be better defined as neutrinity?
Ohhh alright that makes a lot more sense; I think I was tripped up by how the current nymgenders i’ve seen / made have all been directly binary terms used in an abinary manner vs. something that is usually defined in relation to the binary, but is not directly binary itself.
Defining it in a manner like “epicenym : an abinary epicene identity / epicenity which is not defined in relation to any binary ( including masc / fem or male / female ). An epicene identity which would still exist even if the binary(s) did not.” would absolutely convey what you’re getting at. ( Of course this is just a suggestion for the wording and name. )
But if you’d like me to help make flags and a coining post, please feel free to send me the term and description you’d prefer! I’m still working on making and uploading my Nymgender flags to DA so it’d be no big deal to slot it in next to the last batch i’m working on.
