Normal stamps - I find normal bakes so intriguing, harmonical and beautiful. Such a craZy machine art expression don't you think! Love to bake these... yummy! Lol #maya #render #normalmaps #vertex #colors #bake #3d #assets #work #light https://www.instagram.com/p/ByZHoJ-jnVV/?igshid=1dx3rvk25vwpz

Sci-fi Corridor
This was an experiment with normal and black/white heightmaps. Everything was hand-drawn. I attempted some more adventurous post-composited, but I’m not sure the Ice turned out correctly in the corridor shot. What’s funny is upon starting the processing work, I realized that the ship looks more like a cray model than a full-sized ship. Rather than trying to imagine it is something it isn’t, I’m going with it as a miniature scene in real space. Enjoy!

Here is the process of modelling one of the plants. I only used spheres and planes to get the desired result. I ended up having two versions of the model, a lower poly version and a higher poly one. I used a cage to bake the details, however, at the beginning I had some problems as the program would bake the planes/leaves (which are low poly to begin with) on parts on which they shouldn’t be. I ended up making two special versions of the models (low and high poly, both without leaves/planes), after which I had no more problems with the baking. The only issues in the maps afterwards were created by where the objects were joined together, which I simply fixed by editing the pictures.

Getting more familiar with blender, my progress so far on making a small scene through the use of Blender Guru’s youtube tutorial series to get familiar with the gadgets and how they work. I just quickly found a wood texture as this is mainly a test. made it square and then used http://cpetry.github.io/NormalMap-Online/ to create a quick normal map, though I’m not entirely sure if I got it working properly or not. The cycles renderer looks nice though.
