October Diaries

Since I had not posted anything in October, here's a general summary of my notes regarding what I did each week...

Sep 29-Oct5: Posted the survey; Collecting responses and B-roll. I had noticed that I didn't get as much responses from the kids as I would've liked so I asked around including my 11 year old brother to share with his buddies.

Oct6-Oct12: Continued working on my script for the presentation. Even just the intro is sooooo long (5min). I hadn't even gotten to my methodology. So I gave it a rest thinking that I should focus on getting my responses first.

Oct13-Oct19: Nothing, I didn't work on it till Oct 23.

Oct20-Oct26: I got plenty more kids to answer the survey so I started my essay and revised the introduction and background paragraphs for my newly reformed research question “How will character design within the cute niche evolve within the 21st century?” I had also started working on the second survey again but deleted a lot of query questions.

Oct27-Nov2: Continued jumping between working on the essay and survey. I just couldn't decide which was more important to get done first. Eventually I agreed that the essay is the most important because that's where majority of my work is while the survey is just further confirmation of my research and will provide the end design. I also figured that since the responders are creating the design, it will take up the least amount of time.

Blog#3 AM shifts

On Oct 1 , I had AM shift and it was pretty chilly that day. I was the only student from Seneca college on that day. To my relief, i was already aware about the check-in procedures. So i wasn’t nervous at all. My shift went so smoothly. After finishing up and closing the counters. I took the Air transat signs to the room where all the airline’s guides signs were kept. Later, I got free and returned home. On my Oct6 shift, I started my shift by assembling and setting up the Air Transat signs in front of the counters and received briefing of flights. I was tired to do my shift, but I put a happy face on and did what needed to be done, as I didn’t want to ruin our passengers morning with my low mood. Passengers always leave with some compliments, that makes my day and boost my energy. They always say good things which keeps me motivated to work hard. I am always alert and ready to help, I do not let passengers waste their precious time and help them as soon as possible with their check-in and bag tags. Passengers come with different emotions at airport. Some are excited for vacation, some are rushing to escape the counter lines, some are little sad to leave their loved ones behind and some are excited to go see their loved ones. To be very honest, I consider myself lucky that I got this chance to do my placement with air transit and got to experience and feel all these emotions that our guests tell me about. Staff members of Air Transat have always been so friendly and helpful. I kept asking questions and there was not a single time, when I didn’t get my answer. I am loving the chance to work with Air Transat. :)
