Why My OC Sucks - Sabriel Ingellvar

Prompt from @hedwigoprah (so full of good ideas <3) and tagged by @antivan-sprig (Lisel's spiteful streak is so good, I love her)

So here's three of Sabi's biggest flaws:

Hypocritical

She'll often give advice that she desperately needs to hear and will never heed. She's the first to offer a helping hand and the absolute last to accept one. She will never give herself the grace she gives others. Her beliefs and her actions do not always match up— she wants to believe everyone is deserving of forgiveness and understanding, but her sense of justice is easily impugned and she cannot help the desire to punish people who don't do things "correctly." She's incredibly "do as I say and not as I do."

2. Emotionally Repressed

She lacks an understanding of her inner world, and often refuses to accept negative feelings when she experiences them. She's always stuck in the same place of loneliness and disconnection from others precisely because she's disconnected from herself. She strives to be understanding towards others, but carries a lot of resentment from them seemingly not returning the favor— but often this is because she doesn't understand that they ARE, she's simply not recognizing the feelings they're understanding within her.

3. Know-It-All

Having spent so much of her time around classrooms and books, Sabi acts as if she has all the answers to every problem because she's studied things in the theoretical. She'll blabber about facts to fill silence and often treat others' knowledge as inferior to hers because it doesn't have "proper backing" when it comes to research and documentation. It's less because of elitism and more because her worldview is contructed around the idea that proper study is how the world is understood. She needs to learn to value the concept of experiential knowledge more.
