finally i painted this!! i hope u like my version of him. i’m going to explain the design under the cut in case u want to read it :)

i tried to mirror lucifer and reverse it completely.

brown skin and blond hair. i made him have long hair because not only is the opposite of luci but also the cast is missing a man with long hair cmon!!!

overall soft features, brown bambi eyes. contrary of lucifer’s red foxy eyes. did u know there’s not a single character with brown eyes in obey me?? justice for my people.

honestly the colors was a challenge, obey me uses bright colors and pastel colors AND black and white for their angel designs. this was hell. considering my color palettes tend to be very desaturated and also limited, i tend to use max 5 main colors and that’s pushing it lol. so trying to find harmony in all that was hard.

i decided to use royal blue, because i think it goes very well with blond and decided to use that as his main color. which is ironic, bc luci is represented by blue. but tbh i associate lucifer with the color red more than i do blue.

as for the pastels, i had a conversation with a friend and told me she associate michael with wrath if we had to choose a sin for him. so that’s why i used pastel green. and orange. bc we need warm colors to blend with his skin/hair.

as for his clothes. i gave him a long cape (if u can call it that) that only covers the middle of his arms and stays in place thanks to the gold hoops at the sleeves. white pants with a pastel green gradient at the bottom to match with the bodysuit. this bodysuit looks the same on the backside too.

gave him some tiny wings near his head bc he’s a seraph in nightbringer. so they stayed in the design.

michael is a militar angel. so i tried to add metal boots (a suggestion from a redditor, a cool one btw!) but it just looked so out of place with all the gold and pastels that i opted for giving him a cool gold sword instead. (i wonder if he fought lucifer with that one)

and that’s pretty much it. i liked how it turned out considering i almost never draw full bodies. hopefully i can incorporate him more in my art from now on.

Here's my take on the appearence of the Celestial Realm's sweet-loving Prince of the Heavenly Host, Michael! My, my, this took a while to make. An even longer while given that i've designed him back in january :/. I need to get better at outfit design because these are so simple compared to the clothes in obey me😔 also what the fuck could make a man order 7 liters of honey and 700 sweets mikey baby are you alright? do you need to see a therapist? you could probably make a trail of candy leading to an obvious trap and he'd get in willingly

I'm super curious so I hope you don't mind me asking- what was your thought process behind swapping around Satan and Lucifer's primary colours?

Insanely uncreative, red has been associated with intense emotions like passion and anger so no surprise that'd I'd use it for The Avatar Of Wrath. For Lucifer, since his demon form has peacock motifs I thought the green would lend better to that. Also Pride jus green to me for some reason

The Design of Solomon's Room

OM tends to have pretty strongly consistent visual theming for its characters: Asmo gets florals and pastels, Lucifer has a lot of deep red and black, Levi is frequently depicted with water, etc.

For Solomon, they've changed it up from time to time, but generally, they've stuck to blues, stars, or rainbow. So why does his room look like this?

Well, for anyone else who has also thought that Solomon's room design seems a little out of place to the rest of his visual theming, here's a fun thought on why it looks that way!

This painting is The Visit of the Queen of Sheba to King Solomon by Edward Poynter, from 1890:

You'll notice some strong similarities to this painting - the reds and golds, the composition of the pillars vs the bookshelves, the greenish peacock feathers and the dark green lampshades. The chandeliers, too, could be to represent the opulence in the painting, and the chairs may also be a reference to the fact that this was a depiction of his throne room -- he was a king, after all.

So, while it doesn't really match his visual themes in the rest of the game, it seems likely that Solomon's room was designed as a reference to this painting!
