In my mind. Nevarra still eats their fair share of meat. In the Grand Necropolis halls, consuming flesh is banned, but outside the Necropolis- go wild eat whatever. Most necromancers, especially those working specifically with the grand necropolis, are vegetarian. Some are not. But in the Grand Necropolis you're not going to be served meat.

The common populace typically eats meat, but most restaurants have several vegetarian options for the rich necromancer customers.

uhhhhhhhhhhh maybe the choice is yours or Blips on the Record? both of them deal with some pretty heavy topics while also paying a lot of attention to character development and still having some light-hearted moments, which is what i aim for in most of my fics :))

ya i like looking at how midori and sara are similar and different in canon

though some of it matters what route it is right?

at least i think it affects bc i think 2 questions in yttd are how human/real is something and how replaceable is someone

as in is sara(ai) a valid argument in kanna lives route for how sara is (i think its easier to say yes in shin lives route)

but i think its neat to look at midoris and saras tendencies especially in shin lives route or in terms of sara ai

i think the reason why midori falls in love(/fear) with sara(ai)

is bc theyre both actors who build trust w others and then betray them for selfish purposes

their methods are similar too afaict

placing suggestions in others that benefit themselves and arent immediately terrible for the person theyre with

but also oddly putting themselves in a damsel in distress or submissive passive kind of position

saras p vulnerable with joe keiji and ranmaru treating them as knights to rescue her

midori insults himself with the master-servant superior-inferior relationships in addition to diminishing his own wants/needs/feels

he says some pretty awful things about dolls and himself!

but he lets slip a sense of self w that damn stairs to heaven and constant self-mourning

similarly saras outwardly meek but has some pretty obvious wants/needs/feels shes diminishing/denying

theres smth to be said about the gap moe midori and sara share

yeah theres cgs of midori w a guy laid out on a table and sara with a knife

but theyre silly and charming and fun-loving and in reality in the timeframe of the game havent killed anyone human

in fact arent they targeted heavily?

midoris cope-larping the entire time but his challenge is set up for everyone to kill him

and saras being harassed by shin and ghoulies and the game itself

para 1: i dont think theres evidence that maple and ranmaru are unaware theyre being used i think its opposite

part of the romance and tragedy that maple and ranmaru have bc theyre both aware of being 2nd place but its ok to them bc its for love

and thats why its easier to say that maple and ranmaru are similar

because maple and ranmaru in shin lives route are going against what midori and sara want…?

maple deciding to kill midori (but still in love) against midoris intentions

and ranmaru deciding to kill the others (or himself) even though sara backtracked (or never asked for it)

rather the power midori and sara(ai) have is that they gain trust and then use others for their benefit

so i think seeing how sara interacts w ranmaru mb gives an idea of what midori is talking abt when hes referring to the test data

the trust building + downplaying of own self -> youre going to help me kill this dude

i think the flow of events btwn ranmaru and maple and motive for midori and sara are similar too

death situation (game rules for midori and sara) -> hard to get yet caring damsel (midori: giving love to maple but also convincing her to love him so much that shell kill for him) (sara: giving hope to ranmaru but also convincing him to protect her by killing everyone else) -> using and modifying the body (a stretch but…) (midori: turning maple into a murderbot) (sara: switching out ranmarus human parts so hes more useful) -> loss of control (midori: maple wants to kill him lovingly) (sara: ranmaru is killing others even when she doesnt want him to)

for the mask part at end of pic i think i mention it enough above w the denying themselves + acting

the rest of the paragraphs i also like to think abt for funsies but dips a little bit too much into fanon to talk more abt it

ooogh , never really happy with how green pact seem to have mainly one universal interpretation … know there is explanation , but still dislike that - bias which will become clear . :P

so ! thaliendir grow up in community near valenwood-cyrodiil border , and imperial visits fairly frequent . this community was less strict overall on terms - sometimes backburn , trim , or even harvest is necessary for health of plants . do not get greedy , of course , but this will not mark for divine punishment .

now this is not all because of imperial influence , but certainly have influence over pantheon , which would place more importance on figures like mara and stendarr than heartland communities , and sort of skew lens on other deities .

additional thought - maybe y'ffre is not so concern with idea that bosmer follow any particular interpretation of rules , but rather that bosmer understand and commit to individual interpretations - whether or not those align with family and other communities alike . just hate trope that every touch upon nature is horrible misdeed - bah , just say that never live in countryside and be off ! >.>

certainly some communities can and will be very strict - even to point that refusal of these actions harm plant life - but not all strict to same degree . those who reject outright though , that is moreso problem with y'ffre .

OC fact game: when I made my first bosmer OC, I had no idea about the green pact. But I made her a huge meat enthusiast who ended up in Skyrim because she was ostracized for being such a huge fan of meat who really loved killing. After learning about the green pact I realized that liking meat and killing people was not that weird for a bosmer, so now it's part of her lore that she lies to everyone about why nobody likes her.

oc fact for fact: essa doesn't hide her adherence to the green pact whatsoever, even when it weirds people out. she just thinks they need to get over it.

I have only seen froslyn now but immediately so captivated with her vibe and gotta say I think her design has such a good silhouette if that makes any sense? the design is so so so satisfying and stylistically done it feels just exaggerated enough to have such a specific body shape while still following "rules" and just ooogh so in love with that super tall/slender look. absolutely fantastic design holy heck

Hey this is a bit out of left field but. Thoughts on Princess Aura? 🥺

Ooogh lin i have so many thoughts and feelings about princess aura that i could easily probably make a separate TED talk on her because she’s such a good fucking character and far too many people are sleeping on that.

First of all, she’s just a really sad fucking character like, all around. She’s unable to leave her castle without losing her powers, and beyond that, we don’t know the consequences of it (would she just be nerfed to a normal human state, would she be weakened physically as well, would she fucking die??? Obviously we’re a bit nicer about it in headcanons, but the point is we don’t know), and is thus often forced to be a bystander in her own life. When she is able to take action, it usually leaves her bedridden, and during those last few episodes, she was basically comatose. Like, just imagine the feelings of isolation and helplessness she has to be feeling on a regular basis.

And that’s not even factoring the whole Bagi situation. Like, all she did was try to enforce a rule, only for it to lead to her losing someone close to her and having her entire home and all of its people be in extreme danger. And then she can’t even talk to anyone about it really. She can’t announce anything to the public, it would cause a state of panic. She doesn’t want to put that burden of knowledge on the Rangers. And while Kirinda is an obvious go-to, he’s still likely a constant reminder of what all she’s lost because of one stupid race. There’s Goal, but given he's barely a character and more of a literal deus ex machina, it’s hard to say how he might emotionally factor into things. The amount of guilt and trauma she’s carrying is palpable. Like even if she has a clearer picture than most others about what happened, she’s absolutely been blaming herself all these years. Then you have the fact that it took Nyanma 6 years to do anything, and so she’s likely been anxiously waiting, wondering when she will make her next move, wondering what it will be, wondering if she’ll be adequately prepared.

People might say Goal coming in for those last few episodes to be like “shh aura honey you just relax I got this” is a cop-out but this poor fucking woman honestly deserves some fucking respite. Even with what little control she has over her own life, she’s still putting in everything she has, even to her own detriment. She’s had to be so strong for so fucking long that it’s perfectly understandable that she simply couldn’t do it anymore, it’s okay to let someone else take the wheel.

This is a very haphazard ramble and perhaps one day I will flesh it out into a good and proper TED talk, but yeah

Princess Aura is such a good, strong, character who’s been through so, so much, and I just want her to be happy.

That's kinda fishy, huh...? It's unclear if she really died... And with her face not being pictured... we can't even determine if it was Hinako herself.

Perhaps the Hinako that died in the coffin, was fake. Perhapes, it was a human disguised as Hinako, which is why the light showed up as blue. That would mean the real Hinako was that one that was hung. Maybe the reason as to why in the video her face wasn't shown was so we couldn't tell the difference.
