Responding to @coral-relevium in a big poast because I am genuinely still mad about this.

Whisper Me a Love Song is an incredibly good yuri manga by Eku Takeshima whose anime adaptation was horribly mismanaged and the fact that the show aired at all is a small miracle. The original director stepped down due to health issues 2 months before the show would originally begin airing. The show's start date was delayed another 3 months, and then the entire animation team of one of the studios working on the show (Yokohama) completely left the project. Every episode after ep3 was apparently done by different oursourced studios who were getting crunched to hell - poor communication between studios, unable to leave the office or even sleep, and probably a bunch of other stuff that the person who leaked this info couldn't share. The final 2 episodes had to be delayed for 6 months and the Bluray volumes were cancelled entirely. Cloud Hearts, the animation studio that stuck with the project from the start began bankruptcy proceedings after the last 2 episodes aired.

The end result is a show with wildly varying animation quality, continuity errors, and at some points is little more than a slideshow or a voiced reading of the manga with colored panels. Like, they cut the scene with the main couple's first kiss. In a romance show. And all of this could've been avoided if they just gave everyone enough time to do the work properly.

There are some silver linings in that we got to hear the songs from the bands in the show and the voice acting is excellent but the bottom line for me is that this story deserved better. At least anime enjoyers have Watanare and a bunch of other yuri anime to look forward to.
