Post-Game Interview: Colton Parayko on Y/N

The locker room was buzzing with post-game energy as reporters crowded around Colton Parayko. The Blues had just wrapped up a tough game against the New Jersey Devils, and while the focus was on the win, one reporter shifted the conversation to something unexpected.

"Colton, you had quite a few shifts against New Jersey’s Y/N tonight. She’s young, but she held her own out there. What are your thoughts on her game?"

Parayko’s expression softened, a small smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. He leaned forward slightly, considering his words before speaking.

“She’s impressive,” he said, nodding. “I mean, you see a young player come into the league, and there’s always that adjustment period, but she plays with so much confidence. She doesn’t back down, she’s quick, and she’s got really good hockey sense. You can tell she puts in the work.”

He let out a short chuckle, shaking his head. “And man, she’s tough. I caught her with a hit early on—not even a hard one—but she popped right back up like nothing happened. That’s the kind of mentality that earns respect.”

A reporter grinned. “So you’re a fan?”

Parayko laughed. “Yeah, I’d say so. It’s cool seeing younger players come in and make an impact, and she’s definitely doing that. I think a lot of guys in the league respect the way she carries herself. She’s got a bright future ahead of her.”

The interview wrapped up, and as Parayko stood, he glanced toward the Devils’ side of the arena, a thoughtful expression on his face. He had no doubt that Y/N was going to be a force in the league—and if she ever needed advice or a veteran to look out for her, well, she had one more big brother in the NHL now.

caught up on the us-canada fighting today. cry laughing at jt miller, 6'1, picking a fight with colton parayko who is clearly the biggest guy even from a birds eye view

and i guess he was worried that he doesnt have a date for his goonery plot with the tkachuks which is why he proceeds to cross-check him to get his attention (getting an extra minor penalty)

and we get this goofy as hell shit where his arms aren't long enough to actually get any good hits on parayko. such as this where right after falling once he tries for the face -> can't reach -> proceeds to fall in the other direction right afterwards

or this where for some unfathomable reason he's trying to uppercut him at almost parayko's full arms length -> obviously misses, there's no other way that could have possibly ended -> hits the front of his own helmet and knocks it off like its that fuckign jerma clip where he slaps himself in the face

and mind you he's picked a fight with colton parayko who has two career fights on hockey fights after this game and those two fights are this one and the one klim kostin picked with him last season where he did look like the better fighter for the first three punches and then klim ended the fight like this

which, mind you, is not a strategy that jt miller could have employed on account of the fact that I don't think his arms are long enough to reach his collar, let alone pull it over his head.

jt miller might as well just be shadowboxing for at LEAST 50% of this fight. incredible, no notes, 11/10, i would put this in a powerpoint presentation as number 1 on my top ten reasons we need to abolish fighting in hockey. wow
