Haskell > anything else

Haskell is the best programming language because it lets you write a fully functioning web server with three lines of code and zero understanding of how anything works You don't write programs, you declare intentions, and the compiler decides if you're worthy Every other language lets you make mistakes. Haskell waits patiently then destroys your ego at compile time Besides, who needs to 'build skill' in programming anyway?

Not even comparable to python, which is just... so annoyingly uncomplicated and pointless (to make good python syntax you need to make it as un-python as possible) and javascript? Who needs fast languages anyway? So unsatisfying And don't even get me started on C, C++ or C#, which are literally the same language by the way Rust? Bro, just send me the virus already. I don't care PHP? What does that even stand for? Poverty Holding Person? Like you? Java? You stopped being relevant about thirty years ago Swift? Buddy, I do not care about your apple vision pro R? You couldn't even spare another letter? What are you, C-- or something? Ruby? Just admit that Ruby on Rails died last decade... Go? Go where? Out the door? Because currently, that is what Go developers are being asked to do by employers Perl? I don't even know what that language is

really hitting me rn at 6am bc i woke up randomly like half an hour ago (I dont have to be up til 8 smh.) how much of a loser my ex is and was. like I already knew that and I often think about how low of an opinion i have towards him /he is not someone i would ever want to be like so why would anything hes said or done to me mean any thing....ETC

But its really hitting me again rn. my phone has super low storage so im going thru Google photos and shit to delete things and like ohhh my god lmao. stumbling across recordings and random scs of him being terrible and nasty. saw old photos of him and he just looks so fucking ugly to me and gross LOL. old scs make me feel like.... so interesting ig. bc like oh my god the way that mother fucker speaks is grating. he really does have the mentality of like a toddler and you can see it in the way he speaks and texts and writes.. his reasoning and logic and the lengths he goes to hold on to his flawed point of view lmao. hearing his voice and just feeling disgust as well. like im literally free and I never will see him again or have any kind of relationship or have to go through all that stress again life is GREAT .

hello all! I start my new full time position at my job today and I’ve been assigned to a more advanced unit than I expected ( as in, I didn’t think they’d transfer me to that team for another two years but apparently the team lobbied to have me and management believes I can handle it based on my work??? ahhhhhh ) so I’m likely to have a wild few weeks but I do feel I’m likely to need a creative outlet, and while I’ve been on @sommersong more, it is my goal to return here and get caught up and work out new dynamics. I hope everyone is doing well and my discord is always open even if replies may be more sporadic as I’m shadowing the departing attorney for the next three weeks and learning my case load!

A Phoenix is NOT easily defeated!

So, I announced a few days ago that I was suspending MediaMiner posts of Phoenix: Reignited for two main reasons:

Their editor breaks formatting for things like italics

I get no notifications when I get a comment

Well, the other day I noticed Fanfiction.net was also breaking formatting, and I found a fix for it. I thought, what the hell, I'll see if that fixed formatting works on MediaMiner, and lo! It does! So, that solves one of the two issues that cost me the platform. But… what about the other? If I could solve that…

Well, it turns out MediaMiner doesn't have a true comment system; it backports comments to a forum. I found the URL to the actual forum. I then wrote a web scraper that sorts it by most recent, polls the first three pages (the 90 most recently-commented chapters, and currently Page 1 goes all the way back to August, so that should be plenty safe.) It parses every thread looking for Phoenix: Reignited and if it finds one, yanks out all the relevant data. It then dumps that into an RSS feed on ThePhoenixSaga.com, and then I set up a free RSS monitoring automation on Zapier to check that RSS feed and email me if any new items are detected.

I randomly decided to start the challenge I made two years ago where I would spend a week each for 5 weeks on learning some new coding/programming languages I haven't tried before!

I've chosen my languages:

PHP

Go

Ruby

Lua (attempted in the past)

Java (attempted in the past)

Hopefully, I get to dabble in some of them and actually learn something new, especially the first 3 as I have never tried them ever, I don't even know what their code looks like! 🐼🙌🏾💓

How the fuck is PHP a serious language? "Yeah I'm going to make a scripting language with no experience as a fun personal project. It's going to have zero consistency and half the features feel incomplete. It'll be used on 75% of websites in 2024."

I'm casting arrays as objects and then using variables to access the object properties. A serious language would never allow this to happen.
