Tried printing bigger designs this time. Somehow I can't spread the ink I'm using evenly and thickly enough (as you need more of it than in paper prints) - will follow up soon with another type of ink I finally acquired!

Rodothas "Roy" Hamilton was born on April 16, 1929 in Leesburg, GA, where he began singing in church choirs at the age of 6. In the summer of 1943, his family migrated to Jersey City, NJ in search of a better life. There, he sang with the Central Baptist Church Choir, New Jersey's most famous African American church choir.

In February 1947, 17 year old Hamilton took his first big step into secular music, winning a talent contest at the Apollo Theater. But nothing came of it. "I couldn't get a break," he recalled. "I really had nothing different to offer. They were seeking blues singers at the time, and I didn't know any blues at all." So, to support himself while he developed the different sound and singing style he wanted, Hamilton worked as an electronics technician during the day, and an amateur heavyweight boxer at night, with a record of six wins and one defeat.

In 1948, Hamilton joined the Searchlight Gospel Singers and also studied light opera, working with New Jersey voice coach J. Martin Rolls for more than a year. Hamilton continued to perform gospel with the Searchlight Singers until 1953 when the group broke up. Hamilton headed back into pop music.

During the '50s, Hamilton's songs "You'll Never Walk Alone," "If I Loved You," "Ebb Tide," and "Unchained Melody" were enormously popular. "You'll Never Walk Alone" topped the R&B charts for 2 months in 1954, while "Unchained Melody" topped the R&B charts for three weeks, and was his only Top Ten pop hit.

In a 2017 documentary, Hamilton’s son Roy revealed that Elvis Presley sent Roy's wife, Myrna, a rose every day Hamilton was in the hospital after suffering a stroke. When Hamilton died from complications of the stroke on July 20, 1969 at the age of 40, Presley sent her flowers for the following six months. At the time of his death, Hamilton was heavily in debt, forcing him, a week before he died, to borrow heavily on his insurance policy to pay off back taxes. Presley is said to have covered Hamilton’s outstanding medical bills and funeral costs. At Hamilton's funeral service, messages of condolence sent by Presley, Mahalia Jackson and B.B. King were read out to the mourners.

For my birthday... read my webcomic! It's literally free! (Unless you want books. Those are not free)

It's beautiful, it's gentle, it's funny, they're canonically t4t and gay... And it's about time traveling vampires solving supernatural mysteries!

I've spent thousands of hours writing and drawing it, and it's really good! I'm not biased!

It's on hiatus right now and coming back in 2 months, so it's the perfect time to get caught up

Print Shop Closing

I have also been having major issues with not receiving payments from INPRNT (I requested a transfer almost two months ago and still nothing), with zero response from @inprnt despite my attempting to contact them multiple times. I'm really sorry, lovelies, but I'm going to have to close the shop down for the foreseeable future. If anybody has any recommendations for a different online print storefront that you think is good quality, please do let me know!

#speculation nation #title 'code' email is just 'hi'. with the .c file attached of course #honestly i had a very productive day in lab today. i got the core structure of the program down and made sure it all worked #testing it with One of the sorting algorithms. and it worked!!#the lab is to code functions for different kinds of sorts. like bubble sort selection sort and uhh. some other shit idr rn #and have the functions take timestamps from before and after they run the sorts to calculate the elapsed time #and we have to run this for array sizes of like. 10 50 500 etc etc up to like 50000 or smth? if i remember right.#and then once all that's done we take the output and graph the time elapsed for each type of sort/search per array sizes #so today at lab i made the random array generator function. a swap function. the execution function. bubble sort. and main.#main calls the execution function passing in the array sizes. execution(10); execution(50); etc #execution defines the array of that size. then calls the random number generator to populate the array. then passes it to the sort functions #tested with my one bubble sort function. which finished in like 0.00003 seconds or smth for array size 10 #BUT taking the time stamps was tricky. there are a lot of ways to do that. and time(); in c is in full seconds #i ended up asking the TA if he had a recommendation for what to use bc theres a LOT of time functions out there #and full seconds isnt precise enough for this purpose. & he recommended clock()!!#records number of clock ticks which is NOT the same as seconds. but when u divide it by uh. forgetting it rn but it's a constant #that will turn it into actual seconds. clock tics per sec?? smth like that.#so anyways very productive 👍 i just need to set main up to call execution function for all the different array sizes #and then write all the functions for the different sorts/searches. but i have the core structure down with the bubble sort function #(specifically with the time stamps and the print function after) that i will copy-paste for all the other functions #and then inside them i put the basic code. none of it's complicated. all can be found on the internet easy.#SO!!!!! honestly i think itd take me less than an hour to finish. tho plotting out that graph is going to be annoying #something like 6 sizes per 5 sort/search functions. painstakingly copy pasting each one into excel or smth lol #but yea im content with how much ive gotten done. yippee!!!!#now i just need to finish my web programming lab before sunday night. blehhhhh

Potential November Reads

Moving into the process of wrapping up my reading for the year! I won't hit my optimistic reading goal (let's be real: I've been behind since February) but I have stayed on top of the books I wanted to get to this year. For November and December, I have all of three TBR books I need to read; the rest can be mood reading if I want.

Currently Reading:

Lords and Ladies by Terry Pratchett - a little over 100 pages left

Etiquette and Espionage by Gail Carriger - I only got about an hour into this one yesterday

TBR:

The Quiet at the End of the World by Lauren James - 335 pages (my last Alphabet Challenge book! and if this one doesn't work out, I have several other "Q" options)
