Welcome to THE ENHANCED, a personal writing project that is a rewrite of a very, very old story I was working on a long time ago. I will probably never officially publish this, but I still wanted to get it out to the world somehow, so this blog came to be.

(The plot is really old so expect some cliches T-T)

My plan right now is to write all of act 1 before I start posting so I can keep a semi-consistent schedule of publication, but that's open to change. Once I am ready, chapters will be posted on Friday’s at 4pm EST.

Hiya!!! I'm Will, a queer, disabled teen author of (mostly) queer disabled characters :) I like to write what I know/can relate to.

I'm a minor (high school), so be safe when interacting with this blog and my main. I have no qualms against older people following along with this story though, especially since the characters are older. Anya really, really hates lying to people. Which is weird, considering that when she's not suffering through getting a criminology degree, she has a part time job at the Pacific Northwest chapter of ERGO--an organization that protects and monitors people who were born....different.

The enhanced, they were dubbed, the handful of kids who were born around the world with any kind of 'enhancement'--from being exceptionally strong or fast to having wings. And just like anything new... it wasn't taken very well by the general population.

Anya's newest project should be fairly simple: check out college student Charlie, who they suspect to be enhanced, and to have some unfortunate connections that could be invaluable in the fight for acceptance and safety.

How many times does Thriftear come up in Ivypool's Heart? I'm honestly suprised she wasn't part of the traveling party. It was my personal conspiracy theory that they picked Ivy's background daughter to be Moonpaw's mom so that they could sell more super edition copies by locking her potential character development behind a paywall. This would have been the best place to do it too so who knows what they were thinking here.

She comes up exactly 9 times, and only one of those times is any actual information. It's Ivypool thinking about how Thriftear only tidies up her den when it gets messy. Flipclaw is in Ivypool's thoughts a lot more, especially when the Sisters come up and she starts seething about how they would treat her boy-kit.

So, sorry anon. I think your personal conspiracy theory's sadly incorrect; they just kinda don't care enough about Thriftear to actually give her a distinct personality. The only tidbit we got about her is essentially that she's the most normal of her siblings.

(absolutely unlike BB, I've gotta blabber, because BB!Thriftear is a LOT like BB!Bristlefrost. They were two ambitious, up-and-rising cats in ThunderClan, but Thriftear was actually the more intense between the two of them.)

We also don't get any word on how Thriftear got her name; Ivypool actually confirms that she knows very little about the ocean, and thrift is a flower found on maritime cliffs. This is a tiny detail but one I find very strange.

Okay okay so!

Charlie had a relatively good relationship with her mom, until she was kidnapped and later escaped only to find out that her parents were already dead. She doesn’t believe that it was an accident.

Anya is probably my favorite answer to this question!!! Her parents died in a car crash when she was 12. She was catapulted into the foster system for a few months, before finally landing with the Henare family—a pair of Polynesian immigrants and their only son, Kai. She lived with them for a while, and eventually? They adopted her. Anya is very, very close with her adopted mother, and is so grateful for her little family.

Adam…. Killed his mom. His powers, fire, went haywire when he was 13 and he accidentally set fire to his childhood home. He was the only one who made it out, due to his body being more resistant to the flames. He will never forgive himself.

Right so scourge just has energy from the master emerald coursing thru him, right. You're telling me that it wouldn't have negative effects on him?? Like yeah it changed his fur color n stuff, but that's like a permanent energy boost—perhaps even something his body isn't supposed to handle at all times like he does. Can his body even regulate that constantly?

Shadow has inhibitor rings to control his output, so his body doesn't fall apart. Scourge?? He's raw-doggin it, no buffer, no filter to help him maintain it. You can't tell me, then, that Scourge doesn't struggle w/ it? The fatigue, physical pain, emotional outbursts (worse than usual), etc.

Scourge got what he wanted. Power. Bc at some level he is technically stronger than Sonic. And he'll take every win he can get—but he ends up paying for it constantly.

AKA Scourge is chronically ill and he refuses to acknowledge it.
