the most romantic thing I've ever seen on television was an older couple lying in bed. The woman, menopause age, mentioned she was having a hot flash. wordlessly her partner leaned over, grabbed a newspaper, and started fanning her. now THAT'S romance

Menton, France: Menton is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region on the French Riviera, close to the Italian border. Menton has always been a frontier town. Since the end of the 14th century, it has been on the border between the County of Nice, held by the Duke of Savoy, and the Republic of Genoa. It had been always a fashionable tourist centre with grand mansions and gardens. Its temperate Mediterranean climate is especially favourable to the citrus industry, with which it is strongly identified. Wikipedia

Notre-Dame de la Garde, Marseille, France: Notre-Dame de la Garde known to local citizens as la Bonne Mère is a Catholic basilica in Marseille and the city's best-known symbol. The site of a popular Assumption Day pilgrimage, it is the most visited site in Marseille. It was built on the foundations of an ancient fort at the highest natural point in Marseille, a 149 m limestone outcropping on the south side of the Old Port of Marseille. Wikipedia
