i like purly !!! sometimes i could say i even love it !!!

i used to actually not like purly all that much like whatsoever because i was like "why the fuck are you guys shipping ponyboy with some random guy when johnny and his pb&j qpr are RIGHT THERE?"

and then i actually got into the fandom and it all kind of slowly clicked together the more i interacted with purly shippers & the content itself and i was like "yyyeaaaah okay i guess they're alright.."

although i do definitely think they'd only work either post-canon or in a no-deaths au, just because I don't think ponyboy would be able to really articulate himself well, i do still enjoy content made pre or during canon about them. i think they're neat :3

in my eyes, purly is a ship just really placed down on two hoods trying to get by being raised in same situations yet taking them two entirely different ways. curly is a hood, ponyboy's a greaser — they're the babies of their gangs, and they know it because they know each other for that exact reason ; being paired together so much makes that an easy example

they hate life and they sometimes hate each other, but when they're not wallowing in the hate, they can really get along well — apart from just being MAJORLY awkward because neither of them like talking about their feels to anyone but their middle siblings

they're just kids being kids and having tiny crushes on each other makes it all the more sillier !!!
