Kind of want to write a fic of every time Mark left Amber as he did superhero work and her life that we don’t see. It won’t be a romance but honestly in my head my girl was stressed.
Being the presumably only black girl in her school, having a crush on a guy who is sweet and what she thought was an upfront guy. Working the soup kitchen and most likely a lot of them ended up there due to the destruction of the heroes around them and hearing those stories. Which is how she pieced the whole Invincible thing together. That moment of Mark meeting her parents and him not showing up just that scene of her making excuses for him to her dad. This makes her even angrier because she never thought she would be that girl UGHHH
#also did you notice whenever she was on screen they only played r&b lmaooo#I see her a lot as a younger syd from the bear idk#I honestly don’t think mark is a good boyfriend in general he’s sweet and kind but in terms of being there intimately? idk#yk it’s bad when you don’t wanna write romance fics but just give female characters a life outside of the protagonist#invincible#amber bennett#mark grayson#allen the alien#omni man

I discuss Patti Labelle's solo career and I continue to be highly scathing about her works despite some of them being, well, quite great. Still, I might reserve most of my criticism for Patti Labelle's 90's opus but I think the reason for that might be that her 80's could've been hard to top during the time I mentioned, so she settled into a pattern in the latter period. She made many records in the vein of Flame, which are nice, i.e. there's nothing wrong with them, yet this is also a problem. She and her collaborators are professional on them, which could be another issue. I agree, should she pull of something else instead? A good question to add here would be – would she be even allowed to do that? If not, why so?

I like to think that Bennett, Fischl, and Razor claimed that waterfall after the Mond Trio. They found old initials in the cave and added their own next to it.
(this is just a really REALLY elaborate environment study)
.
B: "Whoever was here before us probably won't haunt us... right?"
F: "Why doth thou assume their state of being?"
B: "Okay yeah, they could technically be alive"
R: "...No scent. No one here. Not for long time"
B: "Well. I guess they wouldn't mind"

Hello! I adore your page. Can I ask just where you've learned so much about the age of sail and in such fine detail? I dream of reaching a similar level of expertise, but have struggled to pin down a really good book/site/archive for such references. Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the compliment. There really isn't much of a secret, apart from reading and going to the relevant museums. Museums often have archives where you can get lots of books to read. But many people don't know exactly where to start. So I've put together a little list here to make it easier.
B. Lavery, Nelson’s Navy. The Ships, Men and Organisation. 1793-1815 New Edition (London 2012) B. Ireland, Naval Warfare in the Age of Sail. War at Sea 1756-1815 ( London 2000) N. Tracy, Nelson’s Battles. The Art of Victory in the Age of Sail (London 1996) D.Davies, A brief history of Figthing Ships (London 1996) A. Lambert, War at Sea in the Age of Sail 1650- 1850 (London 2000) G. Wells, Naval Customs and traditions (London 1930) P. Goodwin, HMS Victory, Pocket Manuel 1805 (London 2015) J. Eastland a. I. Ballantyne, HMS Victory. First Rate 1765 (London 2011) J. Bennett, Sailing into the Past. Learning from replica Ships (London 2009) M. P. Smith, Terror at Sea. True Tales of shipwrecks, cannibalism, pirates, fire at sea & otherdire disasters in the 18th& 19th centuries (Maine, 1995) J. Lowry, Fiddlers and whores. the candid memoirs of a surgeon in Nelson’s fleet, James Lowry, 1798 (London 2006) B. Lavery, Royal Tars. The lower deck of the royal navy, 875-1850 (London 2010) R. and L. Adkins, Jack Tar. Life in Nelson’s Navy (London 2008) A. Bruce, Encyclopedia of Naval History (London 1998) J. Black, Naval Power: A History of Warfare and the Sea from 1500 (London 2009) N.A. M Rodger, The Safeguard of the Sea: A Naval History of Britain 660-1649 (London 1997) C. L. Symonds, The U.S. Navy: A Concise History (New York 2015)
https://naval-encyclopedia.com/ C. G. Davis, American Sailing Ships: Their Plans and History (University of Michigan 1984) B. Greenhill, The Evolution of the Wooden Ship (1988) R. Woodman, The History of the Ship: The Comprehensive Story of Seafaring from the Earliest Times to the Present Day (1998)
Admiral W. E. Smith, The Sailor's Word-Book: An Alphabetical Digest of Nautical Terms (England 1867)
And believe me, the more you read, the more little things you notice and the deeper you dig and compile lists and other notes that will help you a lot later on.

Tony Bennett performing "Don't Get Around Much Anymore" with Michale Bublé from Duets II: The Great Performances
youtube
Missed the Saturday dance Heard they crowded the floor Couldn't bear it without you Don't get around much anymore
I thought I'd visit the club Got as far as the door They'd have asked me about you Don't get around much anymore
Darling, I guess that my mind's more at ease Oh, nevertheless, why stir up memories?
I've been invited on dates Might have gone, but what for? It's awfully different without you Don't get around much anymore
Darling, I guess, my mind's more at ease But nevertheless, why stir up memories?
Been invited on dates I might've gone, but what for? It's awfully different without you Don't get around much anymore
Oh baby, don't get around much anymore

“Estelle [Bennett] told a guard who she was. ‘I don’t care who you are,’ he answered, ‘you’re not getting past this point.’ Luckily, Brian Epstein, The Beatles’ manager, happened to come by. He spotted Estelle and both of us were permitted to pass the blockade and were ushered into a large, comfortable suit. Paul, George, John and Ringo were scattered around the room as if blown there by a cyclone. George saw Estelle and flew over to her.” - Steve Brandt (journalist), Photoplay, June 1964 “They had a little record player [at the hotel] and stacks of records, lots of R&B stuff. We were all just a couple of kids enjoying ourselves.” - Ronnie Spector, The Beatles Invasion (2013) “That night John and George picked up Estelle and me in a limousine for a feast of ribs and chicken at Sherman’s Barbecue on 151st and Amsterdam in Harlem. And they loved it. Sherman’s is just a little takeout counter today, but back in 1964 it was beautiful, with lots of tables and a great big jukebox in back. But for the Beatles, the best part of all was that they could eat in peace. They may have been mobbed at the Plaza, but very few of their fans followed them into Harlem. In fact, the Beatles were no big deal up in Harlem. The people at Sherman’s were not exactly Murray the K’s crowd. They took one look at these guys with their long hair and funny clothes and went back to their ribs. If anything, they might have thought the Beatles were dorks. But you can bet Sherman never forgot that day. Every so often I still go into Sherman’s for takeout, and whenever I do, Sherman comes out from the kitchen to say hello. ‘I remember you!’ he always says. ‘You’re the little girl that brought the Beatles!’” - Ronnie Spector, Be My Baby (1990) Also in this photo — Murray the K… “I’ve often wondered how Murray could barge into the room and hang out with us for the entire trip. It’s funny, really, I never quite understood how he did that.” - George Harrison, The Beatles Anthology (x) More about February 8, 1964 in an older post.
