Our brains have these... I think of them as departments: you know, there's the Department of Keeping the Household Running, and the Department of Parenting, and the Department of Doing My Day Job, the Department of Fandom Activities, and so on. Parts of my brain that are running in the background, making sure that those various matters don't get lost while I'm thinking about other things. I think that's true of most people.

Unlike most people, however, I also have a Department of Oooh, You Know What Would Really Fuck Zhuo Yichen Up?
