(used to use a discord server but then i found out about this when i got a steam deck)
i do also keep that old server around for an emoji server cause i have fakenitro on vencord
does anybody else have a discord server thats only yourself and nobody else exclusively used to send images from your mobile phone to your tablet or computer
#kde connect is great#i can send files#control video#(like use my phone as a remote for media on my pc)#remote input#(sort of like using a phone as a trackpad. its a bit shit but can do in a pinch)#also it can share the clipboard contents#regularly get 2fa emails and the like#just being able to ctrl c on one device and ctrl v on another#so good#theres also some other plugins i havent botherd to enable#like i can use my pc to send texts from my phone#can recieve remote keypresses#sync notifications (get mobile notifications on pc and vice versa)#notified about phone calls#and run terminal commands#its preinstalled on linux distros with KDE but theres a windows installer and an android apk and probably an iphone one too idk#kde apps my beloved

you know. it would be really very funny that google translate is so obviously just sort of licking a finger sticking it up in the air and giving you its best wild guess if it weren't. uh. also SO wrong
#so. what happened here is that i could not for the life of me find the word i was looking for in english OR dutch#so i put my head in my hands. and sighed. and still didn't come up with anything other than dünger (german)#(i'm running on notably little sleep but either way. this just happens sometimes)#so off to google i go and i type 'dünger nederlands' in hopes of finding a translation from german to dutch#google very helpfully recognizes i'm desperate like this every other day and shows me its translate widget. trying to translate FROM dutch#into english. which is cool that's fine. but dünger is not a dutch word!!! not even remotely!!! dutch has no umlaut!!!#so what google translate is doing here is taking my input of 'dünger' and deciding with no warning that i must have meant 'dunner'#which IS a dutch word. and which DOES mean thinner. but which is also...... spelled unrecognizably differently.......#anyway at least wikipedia still hasn't forsaken me. the word i was looking for is fertilizer. mest.#and i do have to hand it to google that i was looking for shit and it gave me some!! flawless service thank you!!#*

Me bc our living room TV is malfunctioning and now I can’t play IW on PS5 properly where I fixed up my island without it tweaking out…
#WHY DIDNT I JUST DO IT ON PS4 BEFORE I TRANSFERRED MY DATA😭😭#it’s a shared system so I can’t just…. take it to the bedroom skdkdks#I’ll have to do my island all over again on PS4 at some point… but not now sjdjdj#it’s like.. the input keeps changing and the TV goes into demo mode??? it was working fine literally 3 days ago😭😭#it doesnt help we dont have an actual remote since it stopped working so we’ve been using an app via wifi😭😭😭#it’s not a big deal but also.. I started new game plus on there and now I can’t play in HD graphics and frolick on my island in peace😔👎🏾#I can play on ps4 but also BOOOO😭

And they should put fucking *buttons* on the TV, so I’m not forced to keep track of the remote just to change the input source or adjust the volume
still mad about smart TVs. that shit should be in a separate box like you can literally buy one of them androidtv boxes for £30. it doesn't need its own ip address it doesn't need its own app store it doesn't need to replicate the functionality every device plugged into it already has
#this would also avoid the problem of eg my dog sitting on the remote#and changing the input source while I’m playing a video game#thus forcing me to hastily hit pause and scramble for the remote to fix it

been expecting my 7yo headphones to die soon, especially since the cable's been looking funny for a while now, but I did not expect them to do it in the most random-ass way possible by sending my phone all kinds of inputs depending on how I move around with them plugged in
#from time to time it tells me the time#or pauses the song#or does volume shenanigans#i'm not 100% sure it's not a software issue#but updating and restarting and whatnot doesn't help#plus the issues are tied to how the cable is positioned#so my best guess is a loose contact messing with the remote control input#and tbf? this was bound to happen at some point#usually my cabled headphones break after three years or four#in the classic 'one earbud not working'-way#these ones? lasted way longer than i'd ever hoped for#they're out of production even#they did their job and splendidly so#retiring them for bluetooth ones which is a first for me#but they were on sale and what i was looking for functionality-wise#and are supposed to be good for sports#which considering my activity levels when i usually use headphones is probably the best choice
