❧ but he's also pretty good at talking with your uncles and father; he's not athletic but he manages to hold conversations with them about obscure history and politics

❧ he entertains the children with riddles and fun stories he swears are true but are too fantastical to be real they are tho shh

❧ when it comes time to eat, everyone is impressed at how good his soup is, and he also compliments your family's cooking and makes sure to try a little of everything at the table

❧ he totally offers to help clean up and wash the dishes, and although your mom insists he's a guest and should sit down, he manages to convince her into letting him help her with the dishes

❧ you leave them to it and decide to catch up with your siblings, but after a while you notice that the two of them haven't joined the rest of the family, so you excuse yourself to go look for them

❧ they aren't in the kitchen so a dreadful thought crosses your mind, and unfortunately it's true: your mom is showing him your childhood room and baby photos

❧ after you intervene, you drag the two of them back out into the family room where you all continue to catch up until it's time to head back

❧ overall, it's great, he's great. his first impression was impeccable from the second everyone looked at him, and it only went uphill from there. you best believe that even after the two of you left everyone was still talking about him lmao
