We see Jack at Kasutoru's, sitting down on the floor next to a table, calmly sipping some tea. He hears a knock at the entrance.

Kuraima: "M-mister Jack? A-are you in here?"

Jack: "…?"

Jack: "Kuraima…? What brings you to-"

Kuraima is stares up at him sheepishly and reveals his arm covered in bloody bandages.

Jack: "...Ah…."

Inside, Jack inspects and unravels the bandages on Kuraima's arm.

Jack: "Did you… dress these yourself…? It's surprisingly… well done…."

Kuraima: "Yes! Thank you! I didn't want to bother anyone, and since this job comes with a lot injuries, I've learned how to take care of- Augh!!"

Kuraima winces as Jack applies the medicine on his arm.

Jack: "Sorry…I should have said something…" Kuraima: "It's okay… It j-just surprised me."

Jack grimaces as he looks at the wound.

Jack: "This… looks pretty bad… Does Clarice… know you're here…?" Kuraima: "No… I didn't want to worry her."

He pauses.

Kuraima: "P-Please don't tell her I came here?" Jack: "Kuraima…. You know I will…"

Kuraima frowns as Jack stands up to walk over to his medicine cabinet.

Jack: "You shouldn't move too much… for the next 2-3 weeks. No strenuous activities…. No fighting."

Kuraima: "!"

Jack: "I want you to rest… and focus on recovering. I know… you're a light sleeper… So I'll give you something… to aid that."

Kuraima: "But... what if Clarice needs me? If she's going someplace dangerous, I have to be there to protect her!"

Jack: "Then Clarice will just have to wait… on going anyplace dangerous… now won't she?"

Kuraima fidgets nervously. Kuraima: "She shouldn't have to wait because of me…"

Jack turns to face him.

Jack: "Kuraima… This is exactly why… I tell her about your injuries." "She's a smart girl… But she's not a mind-reader. It doesn't matter… how good you are at strategizing….. if you don't know… everything you need... to plan correctly…."

Kuraima looks away.

Kuraima: "I just don't think she should have to limit herself for my sake. My job is to keep her safe. What use am I to her if I can't even do that?"

Jack huffs. Jack: ("It's so difficult to get through to this boy…")

Jack: "...Alright, then. Say we don't tell her... and you ended up needing to fight for your lives."

Jack taps Kuraima's infected arm.

"I can tell you with certainty… that if you tried to take care of this by yourself... and left it alone for another week… you would've lost your arm."

Kuraima: "…!!"

Jack: "Had you gone to battle... your wounds not fully healed..." "Under those circumstances… What do you think could happen…?"

Kuraima: "……"

Jack: "All I'm saying is… if it isn't dire… wouldn't you agree that it'd be smarter… to wait until you've recovered?"

Kuraima stays silent.

Jack: "She needs you, Kuraima… And being needed… means sometimes… you must let others to take care of you… so that you can properly take care of them." Jack: "Do you understand?"

Kuraima: "….." Kuraima: "I just…" Kuraima: "I just want to be useful to her…"

Jack: "I know." Jack: "Just remember… Even if she doesn't show it well… she cares about you. You'll always be worth something to her… if not as a bodyguard… then as a dear friend."

Kuraima looks up, slightly abashed.

Ok so idk how to start it but warnings ahead this post might have *spoilers* on it about Sueños de libertad talking about the Mafin storyline and a bit around it I guess?

So theories time.

So far episode 85 has killed us with *THAT* spectacular makeout session. But with Jaime🐟 (el pescador) finally getting front row seats to the action and catching them on the act I bet we all have some questions about what might happen next?

So, few things that we know so far from the leaks and posts that the cast has made until now:

1. We know that Fina would like to kiss marta on episode 120 from a leak of a script so the hope for them to stay together (or get back together, or get acknowledged again) until then is high.

2. We know that Jesus Olmedo has finished filming for Sdl according to a story that one of the girls that work in production has posted

And we know that they filmed episode 145 around that day according to another story from her from the same day (kind of hard to understand exactly) but makes sense since they film a bunch of different episodes at the same time

So that means that around that episode is the last episode that we will see Jaime🐟 and that his death/disappearance should happen before episode 161 because of another leak of a script that happened before by Isabel around that same day where she posted (and deleted) a video showing her stack of new scripts to learn. In them you could catch a glimps of those scripts (I enhanced the image as much as I could)

You can see in the corner of the script that it says "Cap. 161." Meaning that the script was of episode 161.

So somewhere between those episodes Jaime will be gone for good.

3. This picture of Marta that was posted on ig by her cast mate showing that Marta de la reina is wearing 2 rings

And many people believed that this is a confirmation for the death of Jaime🐟

But then, yesterday's episode and Marta's comment on that tweet has made me think differently...

Marta said to be careful with our expectations because look what happened with the fotograFa (that people thought she was going to be a big deal, maybe even date Fina... and at the end she barely said 1 line and was gone).

So it got me thinking, what if the 2nd ring isn't about Jaime at all? What if it's the ring that Fina got from her dad? What if around episode 160+ Fina and Marta get committed in some way with exchanging rings? Maybe it's a promise? Maybe it's nothing?

I kind of lost my mind writing all of that so I hope you can forgive me for not making sense at this point...

Today has been nice.

Answered a Medicine test from 8 to 9am. I wasn't prepared for it , like at all , nothing nada. OK maybe just one topic . Snake poisoning. That came in the paper though. Everything else I wrote on basis of what I've learnt in the first 2 years of med school.

From 9-10 am ,attended PSM lecture .

10am to 1 pm , attended peds clinics , I has to present the case today , it went well. Learnt stuff.

Fmt lec didn't happen, at 3 pm had an ent class on tracheostomy which got over like in 35 min.

Went home , had snacks.

Just as I was about to start studying my brother suggested we go to the gym .

It was my first time at the gym !

Came home ,

okay so i know i forgot to post for a few days 😭 so here's what happened:

19/10: saturday

first dissection!! AND I VOLUNTEERED AT OUR TABLE AND DID IT!!

20/10: sunday

...somehow i wasted the entire day

21/10: monday

more dissection. more wasting of time

22/10: tuesday

i TRIED to study, okay? but well...

23/10: wednesday

✓ woke up at 5 am

✓ read and made notes on erythropoiesis

✓ read a bit about the femoral triangle

? morning lectures were about stress management and interpersonal relationships? idk i read @athenaareia 's fanfic during it

✓ had a sdl class about erythropoiesis but they finished the q/a before they reached my roll no, :(

✓ more dissection!!! saw the femoral nerve, artery and vein and the profunda femoris artery. accidentally cut a vein and tendon (?) though that was my DT mate's fault, not mine

? came back to the hostel, couldn't study/do ANYTHING in the evening because of hostel stuff and also seniors dealing *ahem* ragging *ahem* with us

! one of the girls on my floor kept yapping for SO LONG and i, as usual, was to awkward to tell her to go so... yeah. yapped and vibe matched with her for 2 entire hours.

✓ finally found the time to read about the hip bone (a bit?)

✓ drew the anterior view and lateral view of the hip bone

honestly, I can't help but feel that in doing NOTHING here. everything is going too fast and I don't understand half the stuff taught in anatomy classes. i adore biochem atp.

also there's a lizard above me. im scared to sleep.

but I am sleepy. i slept through the physio equipment demonstration and people NOTICED like they asked me after class if I was alright so... yeah.

this is despite the fact that I slept 8 entire hours yesterday

so what I've come to realise is that regardless of how many hours I sleep, I'm still gonna be sleeping during lectures

Overly sensitive re: flavour, OR are you a Super Taster? I've loved that term since I read it in a textbook on the psychology of food and drink. It's like a superpower, except for all the ways it sucks

sdl;akjfs that might be the same thing? idk, i know there are some Supertaster benchmarks i don't hit, and i've followed the common trend of becoming more tolerant to bitterness etc with age.

but taste is complicated even as human sensory systems go, with there being first of all the five different types of basic chemoreceptor on the tongue, each of which can individually be particularly sensitive (detects smaller portions) or particularly 'loud' (data priority in brain; subject to training but to some extent hardwired) and then there's the more complex chemoreceptors in your nose which are also active in the food-tasting process, detecting all the more delicate nuances, which are also subject to varying strength and priority.

and then there's however your sensory processing system mixes and interprets those chemical readouts, in combination with texture feedback etc, and how well you filter that data.

so i assume that supertasting is an elaborate spectrum in its own right, which when superimposed on the autism one creates a universe of unique snowflakes with very specific food orders.

I definitely taste sour way more acutely than a lot of other people, which has caused me repeated conflicts with my dad's cooking, because what he thinks is the right amount of vinegar to get a sauce or something to really pop is, to me, enough vinegar that no other flavor remains in the dish, and it can only serve as a sort of pickle garnish. an unfortunate fate for the main dish lmao.

we feuded in an easygoing way over How To Properly Sautee Cabbage for years.

this is probably why i tend to dislike sourdough bread. the sour is loud enough that it obstructs the subtle pleasures of 'bread' flavor.

similarly for coffee. i need so much cream to lock up its bitterness before I can consume it comfortably. i can enjoy black tea without milk, though, as long as it's not oversteeped, and the main flavor there is certainly 'bitter,' and it's even some of the same tannins that are too much in coffee. so what's with that?

otoh when a thing is 'sour' 'sweet' and 'bitter' all at once and also mushy and wet, my mouth informs me emphatically and relentlessly that this is actually rotting vegetables and i need to spit it out right now, which doesn't strike me as a problem that arises from how well i'm detecting any of that.

third hand, someone helping me out here ig, i spent years frustrated about the subtle weird taste in my home-baked bread only to at last determine that it was 1) active dry yeast does not taste quite as nice as the live yeast professional bakeries often purchase in large cakes and 2) iodized table salt degrades at very high temperatures, creating a faint chemical tang, and these two factors were undermining the flavor of my loaves in a way no one else seemed able to detect. but maybe i was just paying more attention.

also fourth hand, for a couple months after my senses seemed to have otherwise more or less recovered from Covid the 'sweet' dial remained turned up weirdly high relative to the other major taste bands, and i don't think my salt tolerance has entirely reverted to this day.

The little creature in my head that dictates me ideas is asleep, so I went on a sidequest. I got back to an old obsession and designed a library that renders stuff in 3D with opengl and sdl, and it is now done (not complete but done ;-;)

It can somewhat load obj files, manage shaders, basic materials, and instancing. I have so much more ideas... gotta get back to other projects to get them done© too !

So it was an old old craving from me to just use opengl to make a basic 3D engine. I am so proud I got it out in 2 weeks I had so much fun going back to C (my beloved)

Life returned to the desert that was Monday and Tuesday. And at once with a whole jungle, with rich, lush greenery 💚

I don't know what it is about JBLs that they can make such series that I might not like in another country, but which I like so much in the Japanese edition. This week's new BLs from Japan are so much in the old school yaoi style that I like, they have so many classic tropes, possessive and crazy semes and all of this is done in such a light, smooth and chill style that I'm totally satisfied, happy and invested.

Sugar Dog Life - Ep 1 I really liked the first episode, a lovely pairing of a very nice and caring seme, who is also completely unhinged lol and a sweet, a bit wild, lonely but managing most of his life and reality uke. Both have their own lives, their existence is not conditioned by the other person, by "being someone's love interest": one is a policeman, the other is a student, worker and an amazing cook. Fortunately, it's not like the seme as a policeman dominates, rules and leads his "silly little uke" by the hand. Isumi makes his own decisions and shows initiative. The series is nicely done, the actors are charming, Isumi is so lovely, he will soon be a competition for Taichi in my little ranking of beloved boys with big eyes 💖🥺

KKKKKKKKAAAAWAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIII🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁!!!!!! Anyway Sugar Dog Life is very much my style. I also immediately thought of Honto Yajuu, one of my favorite mangas, which has a similar type of unhinged policeman seme.

Cosmetic Playlover - Ep 1-2 (First of all, I must warn you that at some point I will call this series Cosmetic Playover, because my slightly dyslexic brain keeps reading it that way 😑). This series does not hold back at all and does not hold back its seme 😩😆 Dear lord what a classic couple! Possessive, jealous, obsessive seme, "compensating" his perfection in many aspects with his unhinged and crazy behavior (a bit like the seme from SDL). This character in a different version could be unlikeable, but in this series he works brilliantly, maybe because he is so old school yaoi - and you know, the classics always work! And uke: also very old school - serious, responsible, noble, always knows how to behave and to do the right thing, very devoted to others and his work. I really like that he is clueless enough to be charming, without taking away his agency and reason. Natsume is smart and strong, he can take care of himself, when a problem arises he tries to solve it himself in a calm manner, not relying on others. When Sahashi constantly crosses his boundaries, Natsume is angry (and he shows it!) and tells him off, he constantly gets mad at him with his inner voice, he is not a victim of his aggressive advances. Natsume is the kind of character that if he really wanted to, he would put Sahashi in his place, and Sahashi is the kind of character that would definitely stop immediately. But the rules of the genre dictate that the seme should push the quiet but feisty uke, and you know what? I fully embrace that 😤 I've read TONS of these types of yaoi mangas, and I'm over the moon to see this adapted 🥳 I'm not kidding that I spent most of my time listening to Sahashi and his killer one liners like this :OOOOOOO This series is SO my style.
