— ꒰ JOHNNY SUH 🎀 .ᐟ ✦
johnny love is slow burn and full contact. he calls you baby in that deep voice that always makes your spine tingle and straighten, even if he’s just asking if you’ve eaten. his hands are big and warm, always resting on your back of your neck or tugging you into his side at parties like he needs you to be close, so everyone knows your his.
he loves when you show up in his clothes, especially when it’s just his shirt and noting else. your always getting pulled into his lap with a soft smirk and a “c’mere baby..” followed by kisses that last longer than they should stay. and when you try to leave his place after?, his grip tightens on your waist. “you’re not going anywhere baby, not tonight.”
-
— ꒰ LEE TAEYONG 🎀 .ᐟ ✦
taeyong treats you like you’re the only soft thing in this world, he has to take care of you and put all your needs before anybody else. he calls you sweetheart with so much warmth it always has your heart feeling butterflies. but when he mood shifts, when his voice drops and his eyes get darker, the name pretty girl rolls of his tongue with something rougher behind it.
always touches you like he’s memorizing the moment. palm at your lower back, fingertips brushing your thigh under the table. when he kisses you, it’s with a kind of tension that’s say he’s been waiting for you all day, ands he’s not letting go until your out of breath. “your mine pretty.” he whispers, forehead pressed against yours. “you know that right?”
-
— ꒰ NAKAMOTO YUTA 🎀 .ᐟ ✦

he’s always watching you, soft smiles, as his arm crossed, eyes full of something he’ll never say out loud. but when you’re alone and everything is quite, he pulls you close and whispers. “i don’t think i can ever get tired or you princess.”
-
— ꒰ DONG SICHENG (WIN WIN) 🎀 .ᐟ ✦
winwin’s love is quiet but steady, the kind you fear more than you hear. he’s always doing little things, handing you the warmest blanket when your cold without a word, tying your shoe laces when you’re distracted, resting his head on your shoulder while scrolling through his phone. he doesn’t say much, but when he does it sticks.
thought he may seem reserved, his affection towards you is constant, and always just for you.
when it’s the two of you, he traces your fingers and says “you make everything feel better, i think i’ve been yours for a while now hm baby?
-
— ꒰ KIM DOYOUNG 🎀 .ᐟ ✦
doyoung acts like he’s fine when your not around, but the second he sees you, his hold mood shifts. he pulls you into his arms like it’s been weeks, burying his face in your neck and breathing your scent in. “took you long enough” he mumbles, voice already gone soft.
he trails his fingers up your back like he’s trying to memorize how it feels to have you this close again. and when you ask if he missed you,he doesn’t even try to play it cool. just let his lips ghost over yours and whispers “more than i should have baby”
-
— ꒰ JEONG JAEHYUN 🎀 .ᐟ ✦
jaehyun steps through the door longer after the sunset, the click if his slacks still echoing in your chest. he pauses for a moment he sees you, the soft light lamp catching your profile, and everything else falls away. without a word, he brushes past you, peeling off his jacket and draping it over your shoulders. “angel” he breaths, “you look beautiful tonight”
his kiss comes slowly, his fingertips tracing the line of your jaw, lips pressed against yours with a tenderness that catches you off guard. when he finally pulls back, his forehead rests against yours and he smiles, eyes half closed. “stay with me..” he murmurs, “let me make up for all the time i was gone.” and in that quiet moment, you know there’s no where else he’d rather be.

you blink awake in his arms slipping around you, pulling you into his lap without hesitation. he kisses the top of your head first, slow and carefully, like he’s trying to say everything he feels without breaking the moment. “you’re way too good to me” he murmurs, pressing a lazy kiss to your jaw next. “never letting you
-
— ꒰ MARK LEE 🎀 .ᐟ ✦
mark watches you across the candle lit table, his eyes never really leaving yours even as he laughs at something you said. the restaurant buzzes soft around you, but it all fades into the background with the way he leans in, elbows on the table, chin resting on his hand like your the most interesting thing in the world. “you’re really killing me tonight baby baby, you know that?” he says, his voice low and shy, like he’s not used to feeling the dizzy over someone.
after dinner, he doesn’t even try to pretend he’s ready to let you go. his fingers find yours under the table, thumb brushing slow circles over your knuckles. when you stand up to leave, he tugs you close by your hand, stealing a kiss right there under the soft lights of the restaurants. “dinner was great..” he murmurs against your mouth “but you.. you’re the best thing im taking home tonight.”
-
— ꒰ LEE DONGHYUCK 🎀 .ᐟ ✦
haechan hums quietly as he pulls you closer against his chest, fingers tracing patterns along your spine. the room is warm and slow around you, your breathing syncing with his like you’re still tangled to each other. “you oksy sunshine?” he murmurs , voice softer than ever heard it, lips brushing the crown of your head.
he doesn’t rush you, he just holds you tighter, hand smoothing up and down your back, pressing small kisses whenever he can reach. when you finally tilt your face up to meet his eyes, he smiles as he tucks a piece of hair behind your ear. “you were so good for me” he says, his voice dipping low. “let’s stay like this.. just me and you..”

can i please request number 3 with winwin? i need some fluff to ease the pain you caused with the angst prompt last time 🤲
- xiaowin anon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
winwin + waking up in the morning to see that you aren't alone, and there is someone's arms clinging to your side. everything inside of you is filled with relaxation.
warnings: he’s healing from smth unmentioned, fluff an: you rlly unlocked my love for writing him, anon.. this is a little short but i tried making it poetic so i hope you enjoy 🤍🤍🤍 it was a bit of a struggle but i had fun !!!
Tumblr media
it’s quite cold this early in the morning, window cracked and birds chirping outside. it sends subtle shivers through his spine, gives him a cold sweat, and he’s already dreading that feeling of waking up. he curls in on himself, hugging himself tight. the feeling of isolation is strong, even the second he wakes up this morning, that feeling of another person’s warmth and weight on his chest withers away.
“sicheng? are you okay?” he hears, the prettiest voice blessing his ears, a warm hand rubbing his back.
oh.
he turns, and there you are, his love, so sleepy and so gorgeous, expression full of beauty and concern. his body feels like a vacuum sealed plushy, full of tension that slowly releases when the bag is cut. he allows himself to stretch, to breathe, turning to you fully and bringing himself as close to you as possible. there isn’t a single inch of skin left untouched by him, his hands running over you like he might forget. he has.
“i won’t ask any questions you aren’t ready for, but know that i’m right here, okay?” you say, running a hand through his slightly damp hair.
he just hums, voice baritone with his returning fatigue. he’s not worried about whatever he had been going through, and honestly, he forgot. you’re here, you’re real, and that’s all he needs. he’s gotten his relief, his confirmation that you’re his, he’s okay.
he allows himself to fall back asleep in your arms, the feeling of safety and security finally coming back to him. nothing plagues his dreams this time, his thoughts are positive, and he actually feels safe for once. you’ve always been there, helping him remember that he’s not alone. he sinks deeper into you, into the bed almost deadweight, but you let him. he’s healing, and so are you. mending his heart is everything.

WayV x Shy/Introverted! Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ethereal kings
Written with female reader in mind, can be read as gn, fluff overload 💕
Not rly proofread, 😁
• Qian Kun •
Kun, despite his calm and reserved nature, is an extrovert and thrives off of social interaction. Despite being an introverted-extroverted pair, things between you two are almost never awkward. Kun is effortlessly good at making you feel comfortable and accepted, which leads to both of you feeling open with each other. He adores how thoughtful and inquisitive you are and tries occasionally to push you out of your comfort zone to express all the wonderful things you have to say.
• Chittaphon Leechaiyapornkul •
Ten is someone who, at first glance, comes off as extroverted, when really he's the opposite. One of his favorite things about having someone who's quiet as his partner is that you both can enjoy spending time together in silence or with a small amount of dialogue. Since you, however, are more of a shy introvert, Ten basks in your shyness whenever he teases you. This means that there will probably be a lot of flirting and banter--mainly on his part.
• Dong Sicheng •
Winwin loves your personality, because it allows him to be himself as well. He doesn't feel the need to push himself to be out there, and he enjoys having deep and meaningful conversations with you. He's perfectly content in watching you in silence(not in a creepy way) whether you're reading, studying, doing work, or anything where he can coexist peacefully by your side, focusing your gaze with eyes he's fallen so in love with. Winwin dreams of having a cozy, domestic life with you, where you two can bask in each other's presence--understanding of how you both interact with the world.
• Xiao Dejun •
Xiaojun is one of the more extroverted members of WayV, and wants more than anything to understand you and the way you operate. He loves you more than words can convey, and likes when he can learn more about you. Because of your shy and quiet persona, you're hesitant to talk too much about yourself--and he's aware of this. He absorbs every little thing you tell him, whether it be your favorite color, favorite movie, or your go-to comfort food. He loves watching as your relationship evolves seeing you grow more comfortable with him and expressing your inner feelings and thoughts.
• Wong Kunhang •
Hendery is a certified yapper, so you'll never have to worry about any awkwardness in your relationship. Hendery takes it upon himself to push you out of your comfort zone and try new things, interact with new people. It's not exactly your thing, but expressing your vulnerability in these types of things and growing through those experiences only helps your relationship with him blossom into something more. Because of the weird things Hendery says and does, you eventually become so accustomed to it that you bask in the weirdness with him. It always puts a smile on your, and that's his favorite thing. He always will try to make you smile, because to him, that means you're happy and elated to be with him--something he'd never give up for the world.
• Liu Yangyang •
Yangyang is very observant towards you and your personality and tries his best to do things in your relationship to bring those quirks out. For example, he knows that even though you're quiet, you love to laugh, usually in the form of a giggle. So whenever you two are alone, he'll whisper things in your ear to make you laugh. He also knows that, because of the way you're wired, you don't ask for help very often. Yangyang notices things like this and helps you out without you needing to ask him to. He'll see that you're struggling to open a water bottle and take it from your hands and open it himself. He'll notice you're struggling to lift something heavy and he'll lift it himself. He knows you're an independent person, but he loves being able to help you whenever he can.
Thank you for reading!!

"Your Majesty, please consider sending more soldiers!" The ministers' unified cries rang out through the Royal Court. "The Huns are wreaking havoc upon the empire!"
Behind the silk screen sat the Daughter of Heaven—a term the ministers often used to describe you, the empress. You rubbed your temple, as you watched the ministers babble. Though you wanted them to quiet so your migraine would stop, they would not stop until the issue was settled.
You took the throne when your father passed away with no male heirs. His last decree was that you, his eldest and wisest, become empress. You would inherit his ministers, lands and great armies. You were twenty when your reign began and you've ruled your empire since.
As empress, you faced a lot of scrutiny, even from your ministers. Your beauty is timeless—unparalleled throughout the world, some would argue. That did nothing to help you. Most believed a woman is delicate, and should only ever tend to the affairs of the palace and family—but you were no ordinary woman.
In the eight years that you've ruled, you've proven yourself to your ministers and people time and time again. At first, there were countless times the ministers doubted you, and their lack of faith led you to spend countless days overcoming the difficulties of being a woman. A strong woman that led only female soldiers to victory against the enemies your father had faced—but failed to beat.
And despite their reservations, your ministers fell into your favor as you proved how much of a competent leader you were. But it does not mean they are without fault. Your court still finds faults with you, despite what you've overcome.
The old men then begged for an immediate expedition to the wall, and for you to consider raising an army of hundreds of thousands. All to expel the Huns' barbarity from their beloved lands.
You had half a mind to berate them as they justified sending thousands of women to the battlefield in the name of honor. But you were at a crossroads—it was the only choice you had, to continue fighting this war, or suffer another devastating attack.
Still, was this the right course?
With a deep sigh, you looked beyond the veil.
"Prime Minister Hsu," your voice echoes throughout the Imperial Court.
A grey haired man kneeled before you. "Yes, Your Majesty?"
"Prepare the armies for immediate action," you commanded. "I will personally lead this war, but only if all of my ministers agree, that is." You glance across the ministers to judge their reaction. You folded your hands in your lap. "Her Majesty, the Empress Dowager will oversee the imperial court, with your guidance Prime Minister."
"You cannot fight on the front lines, Your Majesty!" The men raised their voices, but not loudly enough to disrespect you.
"You do not believe I am capable?" You kept your chin up high.
"Forgive us," they cried, dropping to the ground. "We have no doubt that Your Majesty's fighting capabilities have remained the same. However," they nervously look around the Imperial Court, to meet the cold gaze of the Daughter of Heaven, who stared down at her subjects. "Your Majesty is very important, we can't afford to risk losing you. You've yet to produce an heir!"
That was true. It was imperative that you'd produce a child as soon as possible.
"Then you should pray for my victory so that I can return swiftly and bear an heir," you say. "Minister Liao, draw up an edict that every eligible and able-bodied female will be drafted into the war effort. Send all soldiers who can and will fight to the north, to the border between us and the Huns.”
Minister Liao raised an eyebrow. “What about the men?”
You shake your head and point out, "We do not have the numbers or time to organize a separate division for the men. Those who served under my father will retain their position but no new men will be drafted. They will stay behind to protect their fields, their businesses and their home. Times have changed Minister Liao. We lost many men during my father's reign to battle. Men who left widowed wives and left behind their children fatherless. It is time we change our thinking."
"This is madness," another minister, Chen, argued but was silenced when you locked eyes. He bit back his tongue and bowed deeply in your direction.
“Yes, your majesty,” Minister Liao bowed. Though Minister Liao accepted your orders without protest, the other ministers did not agree. But you are the law and all were subject to the rule of the Empress. No matter who disagreed with her.
“In the meantime, we will send our prayers to the ancestors, asking for strength and good fortune," you rose from the seat behind the screen. The ministers watch you intently. "I will depart at dawn, take up my sword and spear, and bring honor back to our glorious empire. May the ancestors guide my path."
As you rounded the curtain, the ministers began a cacophony of chanting. "May the Empress live and reign for ten thousand years!"
Tumblr media
Dong Sicheng sighed as he walked into the matchmaker's tea house.
When Xie Meilin expressed her desire to marry Sicheng, she begged her father—Sicheng's former military commander—to arrange a marriage to her. Xie Yunxi agreed, not knowing that Sicheng didn't even want to enter the marriage mart, nor be married at all. His parents only wanted him married, not because they wanted him to be happy, but because he was the eldest son and heir to his family's ancestral name.
Sicheng only wanted freedom, not to be stuck in a marriage where he would have to listen to his wife's every whim and take care of the children. Ever since the Empress's reign started eight years ago, women had started taking on the roles that men once dominated. Although there were men still in court, women ruled the domestic market and started entering the military. As a result of this drastic shift in the sexes' roles, men were forced to assume the duties of women like cooking, cleaning, sewing, and childcare, while women were no longer confined to domestic life. Instead, women have begun training to defend the empire, which also helped contribute to the shrinking male population.
He was a warrior by nature—and as a man of honor and duty, his martial skills are essential to the wellbeing of the realm. Having served the former emperor and defending the southern border, Sicheng wanted to continue making a name for himself. But when the emperor passed and the current Empress came to power, the men at the Southern border were replaced by the female regiment the empress ordered.
Once the dynasty turned to the matriarchy and women dominated the military and domestic scene, there was no place for the remaining males, besides at home or in the matchmaking business. In the end, Sicheng had to resign from his position as a captain to join his parents run the family's silk business since his father had many duties as a minor official.
Since his transition to being a businessman and the future master of his household was a rocky one, he desperately clung onto his free life, as long as he could. He tried to prolong his bachelorhood. But that wish had vanished, and now he found himself seated at a tea table with Xie Meilin. He hoped today would go well, that his mother was wrong, and Xie Meilin was a woman just after his wealth and status. But a nagging feeling told him to leave, that there would be no reason to be there at all.
"You want to do what?" Xie Meilin froze, teacup still hovering before her mouth.
Sicheng dug into the bowl of candied lotus root on their shared tray, oblivious of the heat on his fingers. "I don't want to go through with an arranged marriage," he said through mouthfuls of sugar.
Meilin stared incredulously at Sicheng's lax posture as he ate. "So what are you saying?"
"Can't I just not marry?" He gave her a shrug, swallowing the sweetness.
"Then what will you do, Dong Sicheng?" She shot him an exasperated look. "You're not getting any younger. You know how rare men like you are nowadays. If I let you get away, no man would ever want me!"
"You'll have plenty of men falling on their knees for you!" He threw his hands around for emphasis. "I want to explore the world and discover new places! You know how badly I've been wanting to travel," he scoffed and sat back in the hard wooden chair, folding his arms. "And I can't do that if I'm to be a husband and take care of the house and children."
“So you're just going to leave me here alone? All the other ladies have found themselves matches, Dong Sicheng!" She buried her head in her palms. Meilin had been hoping that Sicheng would agree to the match since he was the best match. "What will my father, your former military commander, say if he learns of this? What if the whole city hears that I have no husband because you want to see the world instead of marrying me!? You may have no regard for your reputation, but I care a great deal about mine!"
"I'm sorry Meilin, I don't intend to disrespect you. But don't you think that you deserve better than this?" Sicheng gestured to himself. "You deserve someone who's going to devote his life to you, love you, not me."
"But I can never see a future with another man..."
"You'll find one, I promise." Sicheng took her hand and brushed a thumb against her knuckles. "When you find the man that's willing to give you everything, he'll be your forever."
Xie Meilin's face paled as the words left his lips. "You will never survive out there Dong Sicheng. The world is dominated by women now. You will never survive without the comfort and protection a wife will bring."
"I'm sorry Meilin," he squeezed her hand before letting it go and stood to leave. "Please tell your father. I apologize, but this is something I have to do. There's no changing my mind. The gods will keep you safe."
Meilin began to feel dread in the pit of her stomach as her childhood friend rose, pushing the tray aside. Her eyes went wide, frantically following his motions, as he rounded the table, until he had fully fled the tea house.
Sicheng breathed out a sigh of relief, running a hand down his face. If Sicheng had stayed even another second in the tea house, Xie Meilin and he would be matched for life and he was nowhere near prepared for marriage. It was no secret that Meilin, as the daughter of Sicheng's mentor, Commander Xie, had wanted to match with him since their coming-of-age ceremonies. But no matter how badly she tried to convince him that they'd make a good pair, he was not convinced.
Walking through the marketplace, Sicheng saw numerous people gathering by the front of the city's entrance gates, with soldiers mounted on horses patrolling the streets. In all his years living in the city of Wenzhou, the gates were rarely closed and the military was rarely seen walking the city.
"Hey! Why has the gate closed off!?" Someone from the crowd yelled.
"Empress's orders!" A female soldier atop her horse said. "All able-bodied female citizens of Wenzhou, regardless of gender or class, have been ordered to attend a draft!"
A gasp ripples through the crowd. "A draft? You've got to be joking! She can't just do this, can she?" Another bystander asked.
The woman pointed her lance to the sky and silenced the crowd. "Anyone who fails to obey the draft is subject to a charge of treason against the Imperial Court!"
"A draft!?" the first person from before yelled again. "Isn't this unfair? There hasn't been a draft since the former emperor and that was years ago to defend the southern border! Why are we drafting if the enemy was driven out years ago?"
"Her Imperial Majesty, the Empress, has summoned an expedition against the Northern border," she clarified. "Any female able-bodied enough will join the cause. Failure to report will result in dishonor and the destruction of one's house. That is all!"
Sicheng joined his family's presence on the street, as other people lined up near the main gate. In total, there were around thirty young adults being conscripted into the military and divided into three groups, according to age: fifteen to sixteen, seventeen to eighteen and nineteen and above.
"Is anyone from the Dong Family here?" An Imperial Scout scanned the faces from a high post. Sicheng watched as his sister raised a timid hand. "Are you the only one?"
His father placed a strong grip on their daughter's shoulder, as they looked up to the scout. "Please, my daughter is to be wed soon." His father protested. "She mustn't fight!"
"My condolences, Official Dong, but these are orders straight from the Imperial City," the soldier said. "From now on, these are new times, and this war will determine the future of our nation. Anyone who defies her Majesty, will no longer exist." She drew her bow from her back, preparing her arrow. "Orders are orders!"
"I have a son," Official Dong's voice cracked. He's never once lost his composure in front of so many people before. "He's served at the southern border with General Xie and has experience under his belt. Isn't there an exception that he can be drafted in her place, rather than my daughter?"
"Official Dong, you of all people know that men are needed to tend to the home, the farms and families," the soldier sighed. "As capable as your son is, these are different times now. Your son has done enough for our nation and now it is time for him to fulfill his responsibility, to his household and the family."
"But—"
The soldier cuts off Official Dong and everyone takes a collective breath, watching the scout load the arrow in her bow, ready to shoot at the Dongs. Sicheng quickly moved from his spot in the crowd, rushing past other townspeople and towards the scout. He stopped when his sister saw him and put her hands up in the air to defend the family.
"Caiwei!" Sicheng cried. "What are you doing!?"
She closed her eyes tightly and shook her head. "It is my duty as the daughter of the Dong clan. I will protect the Dong clan as long as my heart still beats."
Sicheng watched as the scroll was placed in his sister's shaking hands. "You are hereby enlisted, Dong Caiwei, as a member of the Imperial Military," the scout announced, pointing to the large print on the scroll. "In ten days, you will report to the training grounds, where your journey into becoming an officer begins."
Sicheng's hands curled into a ball, eyes never leaving Caiwei's terrified figure. His sister was raised as a lady that was skilled in embroidery and knew all the social graces required for her age; not the art of war. Now, he was witnessing a young woman be whisked away from her home, and her family, because an Empress called it so.
His heart couldn't take much more, and Sicheng looked back at his parents, whose tear-stained eyes told him they were hopeless to do anything to help their daughter even if they were one of the Empress's own officials, minor or not. The Empress's words are law—no matter the price.
He couldn't let his sister be drafted. Not now, nor ever. It was unbecoming for a nobleman's daughter to fight, despite the changing times. He couldn't live knowing her fate, so he had no other choice.
That afternoon was full of grieving families, parting ways and promises to keep in touch. In ten short days, the daughters and wives would begin a dangerous path into joining the military and would embark into a life of struggle and war.
Sicheng couldn't have that for Caiwei, he'd never forgive himself if his sister was harmed or hurt. Grabbing his sword and cloak, the young man ventured outside the safety of his home.
This was his only chance to protect his sister, or risk never seeing her again.

You watched from the sidelines, as rows upon rows of young soldiers lined in the military training camps, while their respective instructors discussed tactics and formations to the battalions of girls. You kept to yourself, quietly looking around as the officers yelled to the girls about battle strategy, which weapon was suitable, the basics of using the tools in battle.
You were talking to a male general that had been in service since the dynasty fell to you. General Wu and the other remaining senior male military generals stayed in their positions, serving alongside you and guiding you along the way. Even after the matriarchy began, they made sure to welcome their female comrades without hesitation. It was an interesting dynamic to say the least.
"Your Majesty," one of the higher-ranking female officials walked into the tent, and bowed.
"I've told you many times, Captain Luo, to address me as a general," you insisted and paused in conversation with General Wu. "I understand that I'm the empress, but while we train these battalions, treat me no differently."
General Wu crossed his arms, silently nodding along.
Captain Luo bowed again. "Understood." She brought her fist to her palm and bowed deeply again. "General."
"Well, why did you interrupt us?" General Wu asked.
The female captain nodded. "Sorry, General. There seems to be an unruly woman in the ranks."
"Unruly?" You hummed and squared your shoulders.
"Yes," the captain shifted on her feet. "A rather tall female that already has years of combat experience. She says her teacher was General Xie. I've only met her today, and she's rather...gruff."
"What is this soldier's name?" You raised an eyebrow.
"Dong Caiwei, Yourーer, General," Captain Luo cleared her throat and waited for her next order.
"She's one of General Xie's?" Wu questioned. You remember that name vividly. The General that used to lead the defense of the southern border, right before you assumed the throne. General Wu chuckled at that. "Now I'm really intrigued."
With a curt nod, you made your way to the practice grounds, as Captain Luo led you there. When you arrived, it took you a minute to understand what Luo had meant by unruly.
Standing in front of a soldier was a tall woman, perhaps just as tall as General Wu and broader too. Her eyes were sharp and she glared at her instructor like she wanted to murder her, which was intimidating to say the least.
"Dong Caiwei, is it?" you approached the taller female with General Wu by your side. Your eyes scanned the recruit in her dark leathers, and noted her bold facial structure—an almost boyish quality, similar to that of the males. There was a ferocious intensity in her eyes and posture, similar to what you noticed when your instructors first taught you how to be a fighter and leader. She wasn't pretty but rather handsome, if you can describe a person in such a manner.
Caiwei bent her knee and put her fist in her hand, bowing to the ground. You sensed the respect Caiwei had for authority. "Forgive my insolence, I apologize." You noticed that her voice was rather low for a girl, though not low enough to be considered masculine.
“Is your father, Official Dong of Wenzhou, by any chance?” you asked and received a nod in return. “I see…”
"How many years of martial arts and combat do you have, soldier?" Wu asked.
Caiwei snapped up like lightning and met her commanding officers' eyes. "Thirteen years, general."
"You were one of Xie Yunxi's, no?" Wu furrowed his eyebrows together.
"Yes, General," Caiwei nodded. "I have trained under him since I was fifteen. When my brother served at the southern border, we were learning how to fight."
"Good," Wu looked pleased with that answer and then looked over at Captain Luo. "What seems to be the problem then?"
Captain Luo pressed her lips together, her fists balling at her side. "She failed to respect the rules of the court, by disrupting the training of another female officer."
"What was it that Private Dong did?" You asked.
"She engaged in a fight against a fellow soldier," Luo clicked her tongue.
"Do you agree with the Captain, Private?" You asked Caiwei.
"No General," she said. "It was not a fight but rather a sparring session with another private. I was showing the other girls, especially the younger recruits, different moves on a fellow soldier," Caiwei explained.
You looked at the other female recruits and noticed their small nods, silently confirming what the soldier told you.
You folded your hands before you, feeling a tight squeeze in your chest. Caiwei was no ordinary soldier, you knew. Just by standing there, you can see she's a born fighter. It's all in her movements—she is graceful, quick, light on her feet. Very experienced, more than anyone else here. If what she says is true, then perhaps there can be more use for her in other ranks of the military.
"Captain," you said, breaking the silence between the four of you. "Let her go."
"Pardon?" Captain Luo raised an eyebrow.
"Send Private Dong to General Wu's battalion," you said, General Wu nodding in agreement. "If she has this much experience, then surely there will be more use in her skill than training with new soldiers."
Caiwei didn't appear surprised or grateful but rather her expression was a neutral one. A good quality to have in a military officer.
"As you wish," Captain Luo bowed, leading Caiwei towards the opposite side of the field where the older more experienced soldiers were training.
"A fine choice, Your Majesty. A woman like Dong Caiwei is hard to find. Strong, willing, and skilled. She'd make a valuable asset for any battalion," General Wu said, once you and he were alone.
You offered him a soft smile. "We shall hope," you murmured, taking one last look at the woman and her new surroundings. "There's something about her...her presence almost reminds me of..." You shake your head. "No, it doesn't matter."
"Are you okay, Your Majesty?" he asked.
"Yes," you sighed, walking towards the center of the field. "Let us go check the supplies, shall we?"

Sicheng watched the retreating form of the commanding officers from his place. He knew it was risky to spare with a recruit but it was his way of being prepared and ensuring his own survival.
He was lucky that no one found out that he was a man. Sure, the women were curious about the recruit with boyish features and broad shoulders but to their knowledge, the recruit was Dong Caiwei. No one suspected that Dong Caiwei was male.
"Private Dong," Captain Luo said once they've reached her destination. "You'll now train with the other veteran and seasoned soldiers. Here's to your future."
Sicheng straightened his shoulders and saluted back to the captain, as Luo strode away to command her other charges. As she vanished from the scene, another figure made itself known.
A smaller man wearing all black, with a long dark ponytail and piercing gaze, walked towards Sicheng's group. "I am your instructor, Liutenant Qian Kun. I have served the Imperial Court since the days of the old Emperor and I have been blessed to continue serving under the present. General Wu informed me of your addition to the troop," his eyes raked through Sicheng's figure. "You were one of General Xie's?"
Sicheng hesitated before answering. "Yes."
Qian Kun continued to circle him like a vulture. "Tell me soldier, have you ever engaged in battle before?"
"Many times sir," he replied. "While my brother was defending the southern border, I helped defend the town." Sicheng stopped, when the commander halted directly behind him, breathing hot air down his neck.
"Your brother was in the army?" He asked.
"He served under the former Emperor, but once her Majesty came to power, he was replaced with the female regiment," he answered.
Kun's eyebrows narrowed. "Your brother is?"
Sicheng let out a breath. "Dong Sicheng, sir."
"Interesting..." Kun hummed as his eyes drifted towards the others before looking back at him. "What's your name private?"
"Dong Caiwei," Sicheng answered, shoulders relaxing as Kun continued to examine his frame. He fought the urge to panic, but remained cool and collected.
"I didn't know that Official Dong's children were skilled," the commander walked around to the front of the new recruit. "Good. I would hate to waste valuable talent. If you're anything like what I heard about your brother, then I should expect great things."
"Yes sir," Sicheng saluted to his instructor.
After some time, Sicheng was training with the rest of the more experienced and seasoned female soldiers of the imperial forces. Despite all the experience he has had fighting, training alongside women, felt very...odd. He knew some of the senior officers were men that served her Majesty but aside from the few, the rest were made up of girls and women of varying ages.
Sicheng had the eye of many veterans, so getting stares was nothing new. He couldn't blame them for being curious. As he continued training, the male soldiers often pointed him out and were impressed with his form. He knew he had to blend in with everyone, in order to pass as Caiwei and get to safety.
He attracted the eye of one particular officer, the beautiful general that accompanied General Wu. General Y/L/N had seen him perform different techniques in her presence, and every single time, she appeared satisfied. She was a firm-faced beauty, and her voice was silky, carrying a sense of leadership and superiority to it. But something about the way she walked, held her head up and looked directly into others' eyes, it seemed very familiar.
On most days, it was all the same. Everyone would wake up, eat breakfast, report to their separate trainings, train, work, train and work, until dinner time and go to sleep. Then, they would repeat it all over again.
That was how life at the camp worked, but it was different during nighttime. During nighttime, is when all of the soldiers were free, or as close to free as they can be. Some of them talked about their lives and how this war would mean more for them, others talked about how they were trying to keep up appearances in the presence of others and some were complaining that they were homesick and wanting to go home.
Not Sicheng. He didn't have any of these thoughts. All he thought about was his mission and nothing more.
"Are you not homesick Caiwei?" one of the soldiers asked. "All of us are."
He shook his head. "This is what is necessary. A duty to protect what I love." He said, hoping this would satisfy her.
And it did, because the soldier smiled. "It's wonderful to hear." She tucked a lock of stray hair behind her ear and let out an affectionate sigh. "It's hard for me not being able to be with my husband," she said wistfully. "Being stuck here in this army." She gave him a rueful smile.
"Do you have a husband or fiance back home, Caiwei?" another soldier asked.
Sicheng didn't know the appropriate response, as he debated on how he could possibly talk himself out of a marriage or whatever other complicated situation that the girls were in. "N-no," he said slowly. "I was never really interested in getting married. No man has ever wanted to marry someone as tall, loud and aggressive as me." Sicheng responded, in hopes the girl would drop the subject.
"Oh please Caiwei," the first girl said, flicking her wrist and rolling her eyes. "Any man would be lucky to have a warrior like yourself as his wife."
"You sell yourself short Caiwei!" the other one chimed. "Have you ever even been in love?"
Sicheng wanted so badly to shrink into the blanket, but opted to quietly nod, recalling a childhood memory of the girl in red he met at the southern border and briefly entertained the idea of her, before pushing those thoughts away. Now was not the time for memories and wishes.
The group of female soldiers sighed. "My, oh my, there has got to be someone out there, waiting for your arrival," one of the girls said dreamily.
"He'd be very lucky indeed, to be a man chosen by a fine warrior like you," another smiled warmly.
Sicheng averted his gaze, as the other ladies gushed about men and arranged marriages. All he could do was watch the stars above, not uttering a single word. How can he tell them that he was a man masquerading as a girl in the female military?
This would remain his secret forever, for his sister's sake.
Once all the girls had gone to their respective sleeping bags, Sicheng returned to staring at the moon. No, there was no way he could tell them he was male. No way he could tell anyone. The stakes were high and his survival meant that his sister would live to see another day. That was the only option.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps in the distance and noticed General Y/L/N making her way towards an empty clearing with a sword in her hand. He got up from his place and followed, not making any noise or suspicious movements, while staying hidden behind the shadows of the woods.
When Sicheng watched her face-to-face, the general was practicing some techniques on her own, swinging and dodging various objects—a stick or log of wood. She held the sword and positioned her stance, careful and focused. He observed the woman swing the weapon with expert skill. He can see that she has been training for years, based on how her body was graceful, agile and every movement was as smooth as water. Her swordplay was powerful and passionate, filled with emotion and poetry. Like music that told stories.
Her swordplay reminded him of the girl in red—their resemblance was uncanny. But there's no way it's possible that the general was the very same person, right?
The young lady dressed in red, whom he first met nearly twelve years ago, at the southern border, had always been a vivid presence. Those same eyes, full of fire and passion, and a fearlessness and hunger for what she desired. That girl still lingered in Sicheng's mind—even today.
"I know you're here, Private Dong. Don't hide. It's impolite." She continued to practice without facing him.
Sicheng held in his breath but knew the only option was to obey her orders. He came out of the shadows and placed his fist in his palm, bowing to the ground. "This recruit apologizes, General," Sicheng said, bringing his eyes upward. The resemblance was the same and yet somehow different. "Please accept my sincerest apologies."
The general rolled her shoulders back, her fingers dancing around the hilt of her sword. "Liutenant Qian and General Wu sings nothing but good praises regarding your skills, private."
Sicheng stood up. "This recruit is flattered by their words."
"You speak very humbly for someone who has so much raw talent, soldier. Who would have thought Official Dong's children were capable warriors as well?" Her voice was rich with praise. "Wouldn't it be nice, to prove all those that ever doubted your abilities wrong?"
She still had her back to him. He sensed some kind of opportunity presenting itself. "Your words are appreciated," he said carefully, calculating her moves.
She brought her weapon down, as she finally met Sicheng's gaze. "I see potential in you, private. Not just your skills but something beyond that."
"What would that be?" he asked.
The corner of her lips curved, reminding Sicheng of a fox's. "That's up to you. Take advantage of this training. Use it to show the world just how valuable you can be, beyond what they see. Show the world what Dong Caiwe—ah, but you aren't Dong Caiwei...are you?"
"Who are you?" he couldn't stop himself. How did she figure it out? He was certain no one else would know. He made sure not to engage in unnecessary combat, just in case there would be physical scrutiny or...something. His cover was blown.
The general's shoulders sagged and the grip around her weapon loosened. "That's a question I haven't heard in a long time." She almost looked melancholic. "Perhaps one day, we might find the answer, and when we do, it'll be you and me against the world."
"Why?" he demanded.
She turned back to him again. "Because the first time we crossed paths, the winds shifted into place."
"I-I'm sorry?" He raised an eyebrow. "I don't think I understand."
A chuckle escaped her lips. "It has been a long time," she smiled as if reminiscing a sweet moment of her past.  "Like I said," she twirled her sword, face serious and posture perfect. "Take advantage of this opportunity, before it passes you. I won't tell anyone about who you are, so long as you prove yourself in this war, Dong Sicheng."
"If anyone finds out my identity—" he started but cut himself off when a laugh came from her lips, something harsh.
"Oh I know about the punishments if your identity was ever found out, believe me," she shook her head. "But I won't turn down a valuable asset like you."
He remained still as the general went over to a pile of large rocks and logs of wood, a huge mound that was large enough for a human to hide beneath. It reminded him of a training dummy. "What do you know about me?" Sicheng said.
The general brought her weapon up, sword striking at the dummy with precision. Sicheng watched with fascination. "A great deal." She responded. "Your father is a minor official stationed in Wenzhou and your family runs a silk business as well. Your sister Caiwei, is betrothed to Zhong Chenle, a tea merchant who has come into money. You served at the southern border under General Xie under the former Emperor's reign, when men were allowed to serve. Once her Majesty, the Empress, assumed the throne and the females took over, she had the men removed. You had a normal chance at life and yet..." The commander made a slicing sound with the sword. "Here you are."
His lips parted in surprise. She had learned everything in such a short time? The other officers didn't make mention of anything but the commander knew everything about him. It was like she knew exactly who he was.
"Why should I trust you?" Sicheng challenged.
"Because, Dong Sicheng," she faced him, meeting his gaze. "Your life is in my hands."

You were right.
Dong Caiwei was Dong Sicheng, the very same young man you met, twelve years prior. At first, you weren't sure. It'd been many years since you've seen Sicheng, since you were last at the southern border, training and studying war tactics and arts under General Xie. You were fighting at the southern border alongside other soldiers, both male and females, as you defended the border against attacks.
From the beginning, General Xie treated you no differently than a common soldier, no matter your status or royal birth. He said if you are going to be a General leading a battalion, he won't show you any special treatment, the same way no soldier will receive such benefits for their roles. So, you were subjected to the same diets, routines, training as male soldiers, which in itself was a chore to adapt to. However, that same discipline gave you the skillset to train new female soldiers and ensure they had proper combat training and enough abilities to take down a man in battle, whether with a weapon or without.
During your time there, you noticed one boy around your age that stood out more than anyone. Dong Sicheng, the kind of boy with bright eyes and beautiful lips, the young man who could be very determined when he put his heart and mind into doing anything.
He was beautiful, like a piece of art carved in stone. Whenever you got the chance, your eyes were glued to him, from the way he stood proud and tall to the way his laugh rang as clear as spring. From afar, you were merely content just seeing his soft, cheerful smile.
Yet, you knew better than to be distracted, for your duties came first.
Unfortunately, your stay there was short, and you were whisked away once you received an emergency summons back to the Imperial Capital, where your father, the Emperor, had fallen sick suddenly. You were needed immediately and that, despite your reluctance, took precedent above everything else.
Just before you departed, however, you'd caught him outside, near a pavilion where flowers would bloom in the spring. You could never forget those eyes that belonged to him.
He was the first thing that flashed through your mind the moment you'd laid your eyes on Sicheng. In that instant you recognized him from twelve years ago—the boy was all grown up, more broad-shouldered and more confident. But he remained a beautiful painting, one that would capture everyone's attention in the room and remain at the front of a gallery. He had always been the shining, pure light among others. And somehow, even though the time in between has gone and he became a soldier, that beauty only enhanced his features, sculpted into the very man you've found yourself face-to-face with again.
You had the urge to seek him out, to converse with him and feel like a girl again. But it's difficult. This is a place of war, and you must set aside all other matters in order to survive.
"Are you not hungry?" General Wu said to you, a brow raised. It appears you weren't listening. "We've finished preparations. The final drafts of the strategy will go underway the moment General Huang arrives. If he doesn't, I fear the worst." He turned to gaze at you, a solemn look on his face.
You remembered your father's old friend Huang Lingyun—he had retired from the Imperial Court some time ago, and moved to the coast. His son, Huang Guanheng, would now act as the new General of the East. It wasn't uncommon to retire after the new Empress's coming of age, in order to enjoy life to its fullest. This left the ranks for younger, more promising candidates.
"I'm sorry," you offered a weary smile, grabbing a bun and eating it with no fuss. "It has been quite tiring lately, has it not?"
"Mhm. But we cannot falter and we must give our all," General Wu finished the last bit of his wine, patting his stomach in satisfaction. "It's amazing how fate always seems to find a way of working out itself."
You paused your eating. "How so?"
"Well, you and I," Wu smiled fondly, looking deep into the embers of the fire in the distance. "I remember your father speaking proudly of you, a young child that wanted nothing more than to follow his footsteps. A true leader. When his illness kept him bedridden and he passed, you had taken upon the responsibility of following his dreams, never allowing your status as a woman stop you. How could the stars have known that years later, we would cross paths in a completely different scenario, no less together in war?"
Your cheeks felt hot, a warmth pooled in your stomach. Your memories were vivid and clear. All of those nights you had cried and wished someone would make your father's health better. To keep him alive longer. That's what you'd always prayed for. But in the end, it wasn't meant to be.
You smiled back at him. "You were always like a second father to me, General Wu. Always there during those times I lost my father."
He nodded, resting a hand on your shoulder and squeezing it affectionately. "And like your father, I'll ensure your reign as empress will continue as is destined. Your father would have been so proud of you, your accomplishments, your triumphs and tribulations. To have created such a dynasty in your honor, and that you lived to tell the tale of your people."
His words rang true, bringing a familiar ache in your chest. Your father never missed an opportunity to tell you just how proud he was, for everything you did and will achieve. Even on his deathbed, he wasn't bitter nor upset about having lost the empire. He was happy. Happy to pass a dynasty along to you.
General Wu had no children of his own, but perhaps by not being a blood relation or a relative in the traditional sense, it didn't stop the bond formed in the early years when you had to learn the ins and outs of combat, and train extensively for it. Back then, he was an unspoken father figure, the closest thing you've had to your real one. He taught and disciplined you and watched over you. Even now, as General, he was like an honorary uncle, although you were the general superior in the situation.
There was another reason the old man became close to you and that was because General Wu and your father were as thick as thieves, childhood friends who ran through the gardens together in their youth. He'd seen you as his own niece, a daughter of his heart. After losing your real one, General Wu was the only family member you'd come to trust after the new regime was formed.
"My apologies," he shook his head and released you.
You took a sip of wine. "No need for apologies, General."
"Now," he rubbed the side of his chin. "Who's to say what will happen in a few days?"
"We only have one goal, and one objective—defend our country from the threats and potential dangers to the north." You looked at the night sky and gazed upon the starry sky, your mind drifting to thoughts of the one soldier whose presence lingered in the back of your mind. You tried desperately to shut those thoughts out.
Tumblr media
The journey was a long and dangerous one. At the very least, Sicheng hoped and prayed to get through in one piece. There were no promises that anyone else was alive out in the desolate wilderness, other than himself and his comrades.
Soon, the road opened and the skies began clearing. He caught a glimpse of his group—other women clad in uniform and weapons strapped onto their persons. Some rode on horseback and others on foot. A noticed a few men that used to serve the former Emperor's court, as they remained within their ranks, no questions asked. The war was imminent and was going on, which meant that it was essential they unite all of their forces together as one unit.
From the horizon, Sicheng noticed more and more of their fellow forces. Each woman, young, old, some male and all united for one goal.
He scanned through the faces—some looked stoic, while others' determination burned strong. All of the soldiers wore the standard imperial attire with armor and a symbol of their nation. As the armies joined and they marched towards the Northern frontiers, the sound of drums rang out and trumpets were being blown.
Before their eyes, the marching, well-organized troops kept a quick, steady pace towards the main army. They moved almost rhythmically, in perfect synchrony.
Finally, the view of the troops came into full view—you were in the lead, atop the head of a magnificent chestnut mare. You'd donned your battle armor, holding onto the reigns of your horse while gazing ahead with an indifferent stare. In your hand, was a great weapon—a shining blade that was said to be crafted from the heavens above—and behind you were hundreds, perhaps thousands, of skilled, powerful fighters ready for action.
So you were the Empress that had united all of these troops and citizens. That much, he was aware. What he couldn't have anticipated was how young you are. You could've been around his age, yet, there was a quality to you that he could not put his finger on. Maybe it was how determined your eyes looked, with the weight of an entire empire on your shoulders.
Everyone was present and accounted for. Each division, every regiment had joined the fight. When the Emperor died and your father named you his successor, the surrounding territories and regions thought you to be nothing but a little girl who grew up protected from the world. Those rumors died down when you captured and secured several border provinces as an example, and subdued various insurrections. But now the men are able to see a fierce, commanding sovereign that led them into battle.
Sicheng could hear the whispers from the troops. The atmosphere seemed almost intimidating. But the looks of everyone seemed excited, happy, filled with drive and eager to engage. There were also a handful that were wary of your presence but respected your choice to fight as they have.
"I applaud you all for being here," the Empress spoke, addressing the soldiers and all those that would be in the field. The fires roared in the distance, highlighting the troops and all that had assembled. Your gaze lingered to every single one that would fight beside you. "Many have said that war would lead to a dark and unjust world, but that is why we stand here. No, we do not fight to cause injustice, we fight to maintain peace and tranquility in the land. You may have been asked to come here with uncertainty, and for that I commend each of you and all your contributions. Regardless of who or what you are, man or woman, citizen or noble, we all stand on the same ground, willing to protect our families and nation. Willing to risk it all, to see tomorrow. May the Heavens bless us all and bring us victory!"
Your cry was joined by everyone else in your command—they answered your cry with their own enthusiasm. Everyone raised their fists and weapons, yelling their loudest. Sicheng couldn't deny that he even felt this surge of energy. For the Empress. For his fellow soldiers, men or women. For his family. This was for all the loved ones and ancestors that paved the way and brought them here.
Everyone that was under your banner raised their swords and banners high. The officers and generals echoed your call and shouted, before turning to each soldier of their brigade.
"Men! Forward march!"
"Charge!!!"
"Give all you've got, no retreat! Charge!"
Everyone was ready and marching forward, with the young General Huang leading his part in defending the northern front. War wasn't something new for Sicheng, so he felt no sense of fear—however, he couldn't say that about everyone. He turned to a fellow private and could see her face visibly shaking.
"Hey," he said, gripping her shoulder. "Keep your head on. Breathe. All will be well."
She forced herself to smile. "O-okay."
Sicheng pulled himself away from the private and led his band to go to the north. All of them looked resolute in their place.
He's fighting a war and doesn't have the privilege to think about other matters at hand—however, something won't leave his mind and it was his encounter with the General and the Empress that looked exactly like the girl in red from his memories. Could it be? Was she and the Empress one and the same? It's something he could think about.
But for now, Sicheng will focus on defending his country.
"Private Dong! Get a move on!" a Lieutenant yelled at him.
"Yes m'am!" Sicheng replied quickly, getting into formation and walking into the unknown.
"This is it!" another comrade said. "Once we charge the enemy, it'll all be a matter of time."
"Just keep breathing, no matter what, we stick together, alright?" Sicheng instructed. "We'll protect our homeland until the last of us."
"Forward march!" General Wu, along with the other generals and lieutenants, kept a tight hold on the reins of the troops.
As the sun rose high, and the enemy standing on the opposite side, the leaders raised their weapons into the sky. The next battle was going to decide everything, afterall.
"Advance!" The war horns blasted across the valley. And in that very moment, the generals charged straight into the first wave of enemies, leaving only screams of dying men in their wake.
As expected, the battles between both sides were intense. It was an all out bloody fight for glory and the right to take control of the territory. Every blow and attack from your battalion was precise and ruthless, attacking from the flank to cause panic and mayhem.
Like every battle before, this one was no exception. Blood was drawn and life was taken from your hands. Swords clashed, bones were shattered, bodies crushed by shields, feet running over corpses and armor stained crimson red, mixing with mud and grime. Men with bloodlust attacked blindly, aiming to kill everything and anything.
This was war.
Tumblr media
Everything around you was chaos, blood, dirt, screams and despair. Still you kept fighting on, to survive, to conquer, and to endure.
After weeks, months on the battlefield, you and the soldiers finally crossed the Imperial City's gate to a hero's welcome. Women wept in tears and cheers filled the crowd as they celebrated. Citizens were bringing flowers and foods, and families rejoiced as the injured troops arrived home, even some would run outside and catch their loved ones, embracing tightly and relishing the presence they once lost.
With pride, you watched as soldiers broke off from the main battalion to be with their families, who were ecstatic at seeing their loved ones return from war. One woman screamed happily, waving frantically at someone. She dropped all her belongings and ran towards one person in particular, as they stumbled in the dirt and laughed when they crashed against each other.
Who would be waiting for you back at the palace? What was there to welcome you at the very moment? The Empress Dowager? You knew she wouldn't since she wasn't your birth mother and only became Empress after your own mother passed away in childbirth. Your sisters? No, they were never there and seemed to enjoy living an extravagant and expensive lifestyle, relishing the rewards for doing absolutely nothing.
Oh, who cares? All that mattered was that you were finally home, that's all that ever mattered.
"Your Imperial Majesty," General Wu spoke up from behind you as you made your way into the city. His voice sounded raspy from exhaustion. "A job well done. Your father and mother would be proud."
You clenched your fist tightly, pressing the reins of the horse as it rode forth. The generals, officers and troops followed your trail. "Thank you, General."
He rode at your side, a little ways before glancing up and noting how you looked far off into the distance, more so in thought. "It's a bit disappointing that the rest of the imperial family did not receive us," General Wu said with disappointment.
"I'm not at all surprised," you chuckled humorlessly. "The Empress Dowager and my sisters and their consorts couldn't care less and it's clear how they feel about me."
"Your Majesty," he urged with worry in his tone. "Don't say such things—"
"What use is it anyway? Why should they bother coming to see me if they hate my existence to begin with?" You questioned, bitterness lacing in your tone.
A sigh left his lips, the exhaustion now catching up. He scratched the back of his head, noticing the gathering of the crowds of people who have all turned their attention to you as your presence was near the Imperial Palace.
"Even so, they're the only kin you've left in the world..." General Wu admitted with a hint of sympathy.
"You're more like family than they'll ever be," you smiled softly. He nodded and left it at that, knowing it would be fruitless to persuade you any more.
The night you returned back to the palace, a feast and banquet was thrown to honor your service and triumph of returning victorious. Most of the men, women and girls who had served were celebrated and thanked personally by you and some others. After the banquet, the celebration lasted a couple more weeks as they handed out provisions, gold, money to families who'd lost someone and many things in the war.
Today, you stood alone at your balcony, the winds dancing across your hair and skin as the moon's glow radiated off the sky. Stars scattered above, sparkling like tiny gems, a myriad of beauty. It was something that kept you preoccupied, rather than thinking about anything else.
Some people saw the sky and just accepted what was there, but sometimes there were nights like this. These clear nights when the stars would just shine brilliantly in the sky, uninhibited, unobscured. Yet the glow of the moon had taken center stage.
It's how things tend to work in life.
Some days were beautiful, like the gentle kisses on the neck at a moment's notice. Or those rare nights when everything aligned perfectly, making the perfect moment in time. But other days were full of storms and thunder. Everything's dark, clouded by uncertainty and misconception.
The thoughts wouldn't stop. Thoughts of everything—what happened, why did it happen? Where was this all heading? Your grip on the ledge became tighter, eyes scrunching up, heart pounding heavily in your chest. You needed something, but you were unsure of what that was. Perhaps, a certain person that crossed paths once again...
What were the chances that both of you would meet again, like this? A man in battle, and a woman, both soldiers destined to meet on the frontlines.
You had the ability to track him down. Maybe ask around or something. Would it be strange, for an Empress like you to seek out a lowly private like him? It would certainly raise some eyebrows and give birth to rumors. But you wanted to, for so many years now, you wished to see his bright smile and gorgeous eyes again, and talk.
It seemed impossible to attain what you wished. This position was not suited to allow much freedom for what you wanted, or who you wanted.
For the briefest of seconds, you closed your eyes, wondering and trying to imagine what Sicheng would look like. How different did he appear now, twelve years after your fated meeting. Did he become a better warrior, or perhaps a farmer, a blacksmith, a carpenter, a doctor or even a scholar? Who was he now? Would he have a family by now? Children maybe?
The thought made you furrow your eyebrows. Your nails dug into your flesh. Why does that bother you so much?
Your eyes fluttered open at the sound of someone approaching you. "Your Majesty," it's Eunuch Yu. "It's late. Everyone has gone to sleep already. You shouldn't remain up so long either."
"Thank you, Yu," you smiled.
"Can I assist you with anything else, your Imperial Majesty?" Yu bowed his head.
"Actually," you faced him fully. "Summon General Wu. I need him to find someone for me."
Tumblr media
Sicheng entered the market with his horse by his side, along with a basket filled with all sorts of vegetables. With the winnings he collected, he planned to pay a visit to his grandmother's grave with fruits and vegetables to give thanks to his family.
It's been several months since the great battle and everyone was returning to a normal and quiet life. No wars, no violence. That meant Sicheng would get to focus on his family's silk business, while his father focused on his duties as an official.
When the war ended and Sicheng revealed that he was a man disguised as a female soldier, all his comrades were astonished and shocked beyond belief. All this time they thought him to be a beautiful young woman! And to top it off, he was also a brilliant soldier that played a crucial role in securing the war.
Many of the other soldiers made lighthearted remarks and teased him, wondering how a man so attractive as Sicheng could possibly conceal himself as a woman and play the part well. Some even asked if he was looking for a wife, that their sisters or daughters would have no issues if it was him.
From that point onwards, everyone knew him as a true man.
No, a great warrior who earned the respect of his fellow comrades and men and women alike.
So here he was. A civilian. A man. A soldier. A vendor.
Every day is a different experience, a new set of emotions and challenges. Sometimes, it felt empty not fighting or training anymore. There was no adrenaline rush of swinging a sword, slashing or holding his bow and arrow. Nor was it the pride and sense of accomplishment in defeating an enemy or winning a spar with a fellow soldier. But he still found ways to push and persevere.
Even now, he's content just living quietly and helping his village survive and grow, without needing the sword at his hip or arrows strapped onto his back.
Sicheng crossed paths with many farmers, a few vendors, peddlers and customers looking for food or tools. Their conversations were the background noise while he continued looking and checking out each booth, admiring the wares and his ears perking up at each bit of gossip and idle chatter.
One conversation caught his attention.
"Did you hear about the Empress? Well she's still unmarried..."
"Is she not afraid of age catching up to her, sooner or later? Soon, her ability to bare heirs will fade and the nation will fall into ruins."
"But the empire has other—"
"None of the other princesses and their consorts want the position. Who knows when another war might come? You think they would step up to defend the nation?"
"Heavens, let it never come. But now that the last batch has gone through, and none have passed her Imperial Highness's test, I wonder if her highness might go searching elsewhere."
Sicheng raised a brow, continuing along the path while hearing bits and pieces. Then his mind went back to the battlefield where he met you, and how powerful you were in command. If they truly had the capability to oppose you, it would've happened already. Besides, your authority wasn't only an empty title. Anyone who thought of an opportunity to play political games would know just how terrible your wrath would become.
At the very least, being alone has its own charm and beauty. You could grow at your own pace, becoming whoever and whatever you wished, without relying on anyone or needing anyone. You are the most powerful woman in all of China, and should there be any opposition, you could handle it with ease.
But the pressure to marry, especially one as powerful as you? The thought gave Sicheng chills and made him more thankful for not being you, of being a mere farmer instead. The burden is just too much for one person alone.
The noise picked up, along with the crowd, making Sicheng pause and focus his vision. There's no mistaking what was approaching. The imperial guards surrounded an older man, a eunuch no doubt, walking beside a sedan, with all its ornate decorations and beautiful craftsmanship.
Everyone around Sicheng stopped to lower their heads, bending over with respect and offering a reverence, all for the one and only empress and ruler of all of China even if you weren't present.
"Is there a Dong Sicheng in the crowd?" the older man called out, eyes scanning across the hordes.
"I'm him," Sicheng replied. He could not escape an imperial eunuch after all. His family relied on him to ensure no harm ever came, despite their social ranking. Sicheng lowered himself in an elaborate bow, and waited as the eunuch examined him.
The eunuch unrolled the scroll to read from the paper. "Private Dong Sicheng has served during the northern campaign, received the General's honors for outstanding bravery and distinction in battle. The empress hereby confers on him the honorable position of Royal Guard of the Right, along with a salary, housing and a substantial bonus to be distributed among his family. Do you accept this decree?"
He had to accept under imperial order, it was written plainly enough for him to comprehend. And really, it didn't surprise him. Many of his comrades, and those from the opposing army, were all given these opportunities.
"I, Dong Sicheng, accept the royal appointment from the throne," he spoke aloud.
"Good. You will enter the palace in a month's time."
The eunuch rolled the parchment up, placed it in Sicheng's hand and moved on. People continued with their lives, and his gaze dropped to the imperial gift given to him. It should be enough for his family to prosper and have a decent life. But still, an invitation from the empress. She might remember him, and in return, he still has those memories he holds dearly.
It seems that fate might be fickle at times, but regardless, he's going to treasure and embrace what awaited.
The beginning of his new journey awaits.

oh.
he loved you. that's what he wanted to say.
he loved your smile. your lively and kind personality. your fighting spirit. your attitude. your motivation to constantly try to improve yourself. your facial expressions. your humorous personality. your positivity. your ambition. your love for others. your confidence. your honesty. your sincereness. your imagination.
he loved everything about you. all your flaws, imperfect features, anything that made you more you.
but how does one convey that in a single sentence? a single phrase? a singular, 'i love you'.
he's not confident anymore if he can really do this.
"sicheng?" he feels your gorgeous eyes peer up at him, tilting your head in a confused manner. he thinks about how pretty your eyes look, with the dazzling night sky reflecting in them. he feels so lucky to be able to see this beautiful sight.
in that single moment, he forgets everything he was going to say. he prepared so hard for this day, for this moment, but when the time came, he lost it all.
he's sorry he can't give you a long confession like those you enjoy reading in stories. he's sorry he can't make this moment anymore special. but he wants to tell you. needs to ask you. even if there was a slight chance you might reject him, he needed to do this.
he grabs onto your shoulders and locks eyes with you for a couple more seconds. the air feels tense, neither one of you daring to break the silence, until sicheng manages to speak out, his voice intense, his gaze pleading, "i want you to be mine."
your eyes widened in shock, a faint blush spreading over your cheeks. you looked like you were in disbelief, like you couldn't believe those words had come out of his mouth. "me?"
at this, his smile grows wider. why was he ever worried?
"of course you. it's always you."

[ author's note ! ] this may or may not have been inspired by my crush that later turned out to be an asshole..... but uh sicheng in a shirt<3

stepping into your dance class, you gnawed at your lower lip nervously. the other people were already here, waving at you.
“hi, how you’ve been?” one of them – yeri – asked, tilting her head. you knew her the best out of the group but you wouldn’t call her a friend yet.
“good! and you?” you asked, walking up to her. yeri tucked a strand that fell out of her ponytail and just smiled.
“me too. i’m excited for today’s class, and you?” she tilted her head and pointed at the instructor “he dressed up, didn’t he?”
shyly looking over, you nodded. it was no secret sicheng, your dance instructor, was attractive. last class, when you just had a choreography to learn, he had black sweatpants on and a t-shirt with something on it.
today, however… since you were about to learn tango, he had an elegant outfit on. his black shoes shone in the light of the training room, even his hair slicked back subtly.
“you’re blushing” yeri nudged your elbow and you grunted, looking back at her. you missed the way sicheng smiled at you.
“how is everyone today?” sicheng asked, his voice smooth as honey sending chills down your spine.
you signed up for the dance class to finally learn something other than drunk dancing while clubbing. it was supposed to be fun and relaxing. but you never would have thought that you’d fall deep for the dance instructor. he was literally sent from heaven: handsome, charming, gentle… and on top of that, he had a fashion sense and could dance well? how on earth was he not taken yet? (you knew he’s single – yeri stalked him after the first class and came to such a conclusion, and you decided to trust her).
you noticed his gaze lingered on you a little longer when everyone hummed or nodded.
“i’m happy to see you today. as promised, i’ll teach you tango basics. and if you like it, we can continue during next class as well” sicheng smiled sweetly and walked up to the mirror, back facing you “let’s warm up”
yeri chuckled and you followed the instructions. your dance class consisted of a bunch of girls and even less boys, mostly university students just like you. but you probably were the oldest anyway.
when sicheng finished with the warmup, you were in awe how he looked so effortless - you were already starting to struggle a bit and your hair got messed up from all the jumping. but he looked flawless.
“okay, now i would like you to pair up” he hummed and you immediately faced yeri. she shot you a grin and bowed dramatically.
“my lady” she chuckled. the pairs were soon formed, waiting curiously for the next instructions. sicheng was facing you now, slowly walking back and fourth.
“tango is a sensual dance, it’s all about closeness to your partner. most of the time, the woman does all of the work” he nodded and looked around “two very important things: remember to keep your backs straight and knees slightly bent”
“this is gonna be so awkward” you joked quietly and he turned around once again. maybe you were imagining things but you thought he looked at you through the mirror.
“now, the first steps. let’s start slow and steady” sicheng instructed and showed the steps.
just like he said, his back was as straight as a ruler and knees bent. he kept his hands glued to his chest to highlight the posture. you observed his footwork closely, paying attention to which leg should move first.
his moves were smooth, water-alike, and flowy. you were in awe, shaking your head.
“how on earth am i supposed to do that?” you whispered and heard his small scoff.
“now try repeating after me. your partner should start from the opposite leg” he encouraged. and surprisingly, you managed to catch pretty quickly. observing his movements all the time, you mirrored them. he was also going slow and counting the steps.
after a short while, when everyone seemed to understand, sicheng started walking around the room to monitor the moves closely. in the meantime, he also played tango music.
“if you feel confident already, you can try it in pairs. remember about your knees and back! also, the man should grab his partner’s hand and the other should be on her arm” sicheng announced and approached one pair, fixing their pose. your back was facing him as you and yeri started trying the steps in pair.
“he’s so into you” she snickered quietly, grabbing your hand gently.
“stop saying that, im going to be delusional” you giggled in response, trying to focus on the steps. but it wasn’t that easy when you had to start from the other foot, having the woman’s position in the pair.
you were so focused on your feet doing it right that you haven’t noticed sicheng was observing you two.
“i feel like im not doing something right” you laughed and looked up, eyes widening when you saw his smiling face.
“may i?” he asked and you froze. yeri whipped her head and let go of you, letting him take her spot. you realized he’s still waiting for you answer.
“oh, oh! you mean like… yes, sure!” you stuttered and he walked up, taking yeri’s spot.
his hands were larger and more calloused than hers but his touch was as tender as hers. he held you gently, the hand on your arm spreading warmth all over your body.
“yeri did well but let me show you were was the feeling of a mistake. follow me. one, two… mhm, here you just sway on that leg” he explained, leading you. it felt all natural, you just succumbed to his instructions. you kept staring at his feet, wanting to remember what he was doing – but also you knew that if you looked him in the face, you’d turn fierce red. “and here’s the deal: when you do another step, you don’t just move your feet. you drag it slowly, like this”
“ooooh, it makes sense!” yeri cheered.
you copied what he did.
“exactly like this. now let’s go from the beginning” sicheng’s words blended with the music. you kept your gaze glued to his black, shiny shoes– “look at me, y/n. you have to look at your partner”
you scrunched your nose and rose your head up, remembering to straighten your back. the proximity hit you, his face was closer than you thought it would be.
“i, i know. it’s just that i’m, you know… not lost when im looking at my feet” you explained nervously, almost forced to look into his ebony eyes. sicheng just sent you a warm smile.
“you’re not lost now, though. you need to feel the music, feel your partner. it will come naturally” he hummed and you realized you’re following his lead, legs working on their own.
you kept looking in his eyes, blush spreading on your face. feeling as if it was just you, him… and the training room turned into a ballroom.
“you got it. good job” sicheng grinned and let go of you, snapping you out of the trance. “yeri, im giving you back your dance partner”
“about time” she teased and only when he walked away to approach the other couple, you and yeri started giggling. “you got so red!”
“shut up!”
“no, literally, he’s so into you! the way he looked at you… and you are the only one who he sanded with, he only says what you need to fix… oh i’m sick!” yeri whined dramatically and you just slapped her arm.
the class came to an end, sicheng turned off the music to bid goodbye.
“you all did really well! do you want to continue tango next week?” he asked, scanning your reactions. most of the people nodded and he just smiled in response.
“duh!” yeri grinned, saying loudly. tango meant more close encounters, so she was ready to sacrifice her time for you to get closer to sicheng.
“i’m glad to hear you’re so enthusiastic. so you next week then” he crossed his arms, swaying a bit on his legs. you were about to leave, when you heard his voice again “y/n, do you mind staying for a minute?”
yeri exchanged shocked looks with you and then just winked, running off.
“yeah, sure, no problem” you answered, a bit shocked he knows your name. well… it’s not like he has to, right?
when everyone left, he walked up to you a bit closer. his ebony eyes looked at you softly, a gentle smile adorning his lips.
“you did really good today, you know” he hummed and you nodded.
“thank you” you said, almost whispered.
“i just… hm, how do i put this…” sicheng hesitated and chuckled “i think you’re really cute”
“what?” your eyes widened, looking at his face in shock.
“yeah. despite getting shy often you still manage to show confidence in your moves. and, well, you’re cute as in… just… shit” he laughed nervously and that was the first time you’ve seen him break his stoic facade “would you like to go on a date? maybe a coffee after class or a dinner. if you want to”
so yeri was right.
“of course. i’d love to, i really would” you grinned and saw a wave of relief wash over his face “as long as we don’t have to dance, i’d still be intimidated”
“let’s leave that for another time” he sent you a smug smile. scoffing, you couldn’t help the wide grin from growing.
“let’s grab a coffee this weekend, hm?” you asked, a sudden wave of bravery taking over you “you can give me your number, we can, uh… establish the details later”
“sure” sicheng answered.
after exchanging numbers, you waved goodbye to him. he had another class waiting for him. he was looking at you, whipped.
“see you soon, then!” you smiled and walked away a bit dramatically, in the step pattern you just learned.
sicheng couldn’t help but giggle, not quite still believing that it just happened.

how wayv's first kiss with you would be like
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: wayv x reader
kun
after a romantic dinner. he drives you home from taking you to your date with him at a fancy dinner he had arranged, wanting you to show how he really loves you and would want to take the relationship into the next step. he walks you to the front porch of your house, standing near the doorstep. before he says goodbye, he says how much he enjoyed the date, and you say the same. there is a still sound of silence of him staring at you. then, he leans in to capture your lips to his. the rhythm of your mouths moving against each other is slow, but good enough for the both of you to feel the butterflies in your stomachs. he smiles at you when you pull away, and then his hand reached for your own, kissing the back of your palm before he leaves the neighborhood. kun will never forget such a memorable moment.
ten
during a game of spin the bottle. at first he laughs, staring at the empty wine bottle landing in your direction. with the rest of the players anticipating, he isn't afraid to back out. he hates being called a coward. he makes no hesitation before smashing his lips against yours. there's still the taste of alcohol both of you consumed just moments ago. besides the liquor, he also feels drunk with the way he keeps pressing his lips deeper and his tongue swiping on your bottom lip as a permission for more access. ten merely forgets the audience watching him, focusing entirely to make you feel good and pleased. when he pulls away, he gets a good view of your lips, smeared and coated with his own saliva, and lipstick smudged from the corners of your mouth. seeing you in that state gives him a satisfied look on his face, a smug creeping up from his lips.
winwin
saying goodbye to him. sicheng is given the opportunity to finally pursue the passion he loves, but it hurts him to know that he needs to leave where he already finds and calls home—you. both of you stand before the pane glass doorframes of the airport, sicheng's hand holds onto the handle of his luggage, while the other never leaves yours. it's all going too fast. the grip on your hand tightens. you notice the way he's trying to hold to his emotions, how hard he's trying to stifle his sobs. he feels you return the same tightness on his hand, assuring him that everything will be fine. a hand slowly creeps up to gently touch his already stained cheeks. he's going to miss you, so much. sicheng's hand clasps around the hand where you touch him, pulling it down. and there, you feel his plump lips on yours. it's trembling, and of course, it's sad. you don't tell him to stay through your reciprocation, but instead, it tells him to go, to chase what he loves.
xiaojun
acting out a kiss scene. it's the first rehearsal of the play the casts are going to act in, including the two of you. it's no surprise when both of you find out to be the leads of the play. dejun thinks that it will go as smoothly as possible, given the fact that the two of you are comfortable with each other of everything, and you think so too. as all of you are reading the script, the director reminds you of the kiss scenes, so when the actual practice came, dejun tells himself that the kiss is and only for professional purposes. he composes himself before standing in front of you with a smile. you say your lines, enunciating them word for word with feelings to embody the character as he does the same. his hands reaches for your own just like what it says on the script, and wasting no time, he plants a kiss on your lips. you don't move, but he feels his stomach doing the somersaults. all he can think about at this very moment is your soft lips, your grip on his hand tightens, your eyelashes tickling his cheeks—then it's all gone when you pull away. looking at each other for a few seconds, a sudden fit of laughter bursts out from the two of you. both of you suppress your giggles when the director yells, telling you and dejun to stop laughing and concentrate on the script.
hendery
out of curiosity. he stares at you with a surprised expression on his face after hearing you ask how a kiss feels like. it's not like he doesn't know how to kiss someone as he had gained experiences from previous relationships, and clearly this was your first. his mind go dizzy when you ask him to kiss you. he isn't sure if it's only his mind playing him, but with a couple slaps across his face, it's not a dream. before kissing you, hendery makes sure to ask if you're still okay with the idea, never forgetting to seek for your consent. with a hand on your neck and the other to cup your cheek, your lips are on his. the lingering touch of your hands on his chest traveling around his neck causes him to smile in between the kiss. he also makes sure that you're satisfied with the kiss he shares with you, in a way that will make you feel good and relieve to know that you just had the best first kiss ever given by your own friend. hendery can't seem to sleep the following nights, replaying the scene over and over again, as he starts to fall in love with you.
yangyang
in the heat of the moment. he understands why you're mad at him for completely ruining your date with a person you recently talked to. yangyang warns you over again that the guy isn't good for you, that his background isn't something that's worth to be with. he watches you pace around the room, telling him that he has no right to deny a relationship you want to have, telling him that he should mind his own business. he couldn't do that. he knows what's best for you because he cares for your happiness. if it weren't for him, you will be trapped in a toxic unbearable relationship that might emotionally and mentally break you. what he wants for you to realize that there is one who could actually treat and love you better—him. yangyang grabs you by the shoulders, snapping you out. you break free from his tight grip, wanting to turn around and leave the room. that is until you feel his hand tug your arm back to face him as he finally smashes his lips against yours. the kiss is nowhere near sweet and full of passion. it's rough, lips smacking against each other, teeth scraping the skin and muscle of your tongues, and short hot breaths filling the quiet room. he's angry, you're angry, but neither of you pull away.

Tumblr media
do you live in new york city,
or a couple towns away?
wherever you are, i'd jump in my car,
just to see you today.
"excuse me, can i sit here?"
sicheng looked up, taking one of his earbuds out. the man in front of him was quite possibly the most beautiful thing he'd ever laid eyes on. he quickly cleared his throat, nodded, and gave a warm smile.
"sure, of course."
"thank you. i didn't expect it to be so crowded here."
sicheng nodded again and looked around the café. all the tables were occupied, and the line was longer than usual. he assumed it was because it was lunch time on a weekend.
the man now sitting across from him began taking his phone and laptop out of his bag. the sun was hitting his skin perfectly from the large window beside their table. he looked almost ethereal, as if right out of a movie.
"i like your nails a lot," the man complimented. sicheng's eyes widened, looking down at his black and silver nails that ten had painted for him just last night.
"oh, thank you. my friend likes to paint people's nails."
the man laughed quietly, "that's cute."
sicheng looked down at his book with a bashful smile.
the man got back to work on his computer after that. he picked up his phone for just a moment, then set it back down on the table before putting one air pod in his left ear.
sicheng carefully sneaked a peak at the man's phone, as the screen was still lit with the song he was listening to. sicheng's heart sped up when he instantly recognized the album on the phone. how could he not recognize it when it was the same exact album and song he was listening to right at that moment? he pulled out his own phone and watched it turn on, displaying the song dear soulmate.
sicheng felt the blush on his face getting more apparent by the second. he looked back up at the man as he typed away on his computer. but before sicheng knew it, the other's eyes were gazing right back at him. he smiled again and gently sat his laptop aside.
"i'm y/n."
sicheng's brows raised in slight surprise. processing what was happening, he tried to smile again and sat up straight. he was completely oblivious to how effortlessly cute he was.
"i'm sicheng," he replied. "you like laufey?"
y/n looked down at his phone, then smiled.
"mhm! you too?"
sicheng nodded eagerly, raising his own phone now to show the song they were sharing.
y/n's smile grew at this. their eyes lingered on each other for a moment, both feeling the flicker of a connection.
"..are you seeing her on tour here tomorrow night?" y/n asked.
"i am actually!" sicheng chimed.
y/n gazed at him in admiration. he loved the way his face lit up in excitement.
"maybe we could get drinks or something after the concert then?" y/n suggested.
"yes please," sicheng agreed quickly. he then unlocked his phone and gave it to y/n, "let's exchange numbers?"
y/n nodded and gave his own phone in return, "here's mine."
sicheng held the device and typed in his number. he had a feeling something beautiful had just started with y/n, and all because of a crowded café and a song.
dear soulmate,
i can't wait to fall in love with you.

♡ pairing: bsf!winwin x bsf!reader
♡ warnings: smut (minors dni), rough winwin, mention of the rest of nct, alcohol, fingering, cum eating, jealous winwin, pet names
♡ note: i hope this is what you asked for, since you wanted no fluff heh. but i’m doing well, thank you for asking hope you’re doing well too!
you’ve been invited to a party that nct organized, winwin being your best friend casually filling up your glass with a little too much beer for your liking. but you couldn’t care less all you wanted to have was fun tonight.
about two hours in, you were going through the stage of being really tipsy but not quite drunk yet. you’ve been talking to a lot of the guys stopping at jaehyun who has been taking your breathe away, especially tonight. winwin usually never really cared about you talking to the rest of nct, but this time he got really jealous.
“so darling, how are you enjoying the party?” jaehyun smiled widely as his arm was hugging you lower back, his face being really close to yours, so close that you already felt his breath on the surface of your face.
“i’ve been having quite a bit of fun, my glass is just empty” turning to jaehyun with your pounding face as you held your now empty cup in front of his eyes wiggling it a little bit. your hair was falling over your shoulders as you turned your head into winwin’s direction, waving at him innocently.
winwin got mad when he saw you and jaehyun being up close, practically kissing yet lips not even touching. winwin always had a slight crush on you but never told you since he was your best friend for so long now, but it makes him jealous and he doesn’t mind showing you as he slowly walks over to you.
“what happened between you and jaehyun?” he uses the chance to speak to you while jaehyun is filling up your cup with a new drink, winwin being extremely close to you letting your body become weak.
“what do you think happened sicheng?” putting on a little smile as your elbow rested on his shoulder, facing him. he lifted an eyebrow as his tongue poked the inside of his cheek.
“i don’t know pretty, you tell me cause you were clearly flirting with jaehyun” he sounded jealous, oh and how jealous he was. the look on his face was irritating as he pushed his hair back face getting closer to yours.
“are you jealous sicheng? that’s actually kinda cute” it was the tipsy self who said that to him, normally you couldn’t care less what winwin thought about you or how you thought about him cause in the end he was just your best friend and nothing more.
grabbing you hand and dragging you into the bathroom of the house, nails digging into his skin as you held yourself up due to his immense speed. winwin soon found the bathroom, pushing you inside as he closed the door behind him.
“now we can talk about what you did with jaehyun, you basically undressed him with your eyes” he was mad and sad at the same time, wishing it was him who you just flirted with. you stepped closer to him arms softly resting on his shoulders as your fingers play with the back of his hair.
“you know sicheng jaehyun is a really gorgeous person, who wouldn’t flirt with him?” that was enough for winwin as your last word left your lips he kissed you hungrily. you were shocked at first but quickly deepening the kiss one hand traveling down to his chest pushing him against the door slightly.
talking? that was definitely not what you two were doing right now, tongue’s fighting with each other while winwin’s fingers started to play with the hem of your dress slipping under it. the both of you got so distracted with each other that you couldn’t even break the kiss as winwin basically just ripped the dress off of your body while smirking at you.
“you look so fucking pretty, for how long was it waiting to do this god” his hand was cupping your tit as he slowly turned his attention to your nipple, twirling his thumb around your exposed nip, deepening the kiss even more.
it soon clicked in your brain as you noticed what just happened with the two of you carefully touching his chest as your hands moved to his belt but he stopped you from moving further down, pinning both of your hands above your head while whispering into your ear that this is all about you and not him. one of winwin’s hands moved down to your panties, playing with the hem of your waistband hand slowly sneaking into your underwear.
“sicheng, what?” softly smiling as a few moans escaped your lips but he just hushed you attention back to your clit, slowly rubbing on it with small circles as pleasure hit you. you never thought this would happen as winwin and you are only best friends and nothing more but you never knew about what he felt about you, so you just went with the flow.
hips moving against his fingers which are now deeply inside of you as he was hitting your right spot each time. winwin was working pure magic almost letting you cum on the spot just with his fingers. your moans made him smirk and pushing his ego up since he’s doing this to you, and only he is.
“g-gonna cum” you threw your head back in pleasure as you held onto his shoulders, leg wrapped around his waist trying to hold your orgasm back not wanting to give in that quickly it’s like you’re waiting for him to allow you to cum.
“cum around my fingers, wanna taste that sweet juice of yours” as soon as he said that you felt a tight knot in your stomach finally releasing your orgasm and turning into a panting mess. winwin catched you as you rode off your high holding your body upright slowly pulling his fingers out of you.
licking every drop of your juices clean off his fingers as he looked deeply into your eyes, basically grinning at you before he pulled you back into a long kiss so you could taste yourself on his tongue. he broke the kiss quickly handing you your dress, pulling it over your head.
“get dressed babe, don’t want anyone else to see you like this” a small giggle was heard from his lips as you dragged your dress over your shoulders, brushing the dress down straight. you looked into the mirror and almost screamed. your make up? completely ruined. mascara running down your cheeks, lipstick non existent.
“oh god sicheng what have you done, look at me” you cried out while laughing. he turned around to face you again, handing you a small towel with a quick “you still look pretty” before leaving the bathroom. after you freshened up you left the bathroom as well and ran into a confused jaehyun with your glass in his hand.
“oh i could use something stronger, vodka perhaps? thank you” chugging down your glass before signaling jaehyun to get another drink for you. winwin on the other hand was giggling next to you as his arm hugged your waist, giving you a kiss on the cheek.
“why so shy now doll?” his evil grin was not to be overseen, undressing you with his eyes once again. you just knew that this night would change a lot of things, not in bad ways but maybe what happened in the bathroom won’t be the only thing happening between you and winwin tonight.

A/N: I FINALLY FINISHED THE WAYV FRAT HOUSE SERIES 😭! I’m really sorry it took me so long to complete, but it was a motivation issue, and I struggled to finish it. Since it was my first time writing a choose-your-own-ending fic, I found it a bit hard for me to do at first. However, I’ve now done all 6 members, and I’m really happy to have finished the whole series! To those who were waiting, thank you for being so patient with me, and I apologize once again for the delay. Anyway, I don’t think I can take on something like this again anytime soon, but it was still fun to make, and I hope you all enjoy this final part of the series!

After Hendery spun the bottle, it landed on Winwin.
You were relieved it wasn’t Hendery, though the result still surprised you. You knew it was going to be awkward since you and Winwin weren’t close. He barely spoke to you whenever you came over, and he usually stayed in his room.
Winwin smiled at you, not bothered at all by the outcome.
“Well, looks like we’re spending the night together,” he said.
“Seems like it.”
Hendery shot both of you a dirty look but held back from saying anything.
Not long after, everyone headed upstairs to sleep.
Now, you're in Winwin's room, and you can already smell the weed in the air. You notice some joints on the windowsill, and your eyes widen. He didn’t seem like the type to smoke. He told you to make yourself comfortable on the bed as he picked up one of the joints.
“Do you mind if I smoke in here? I’ll step outside if you want.”
“No, it’s fine. I used to do it a long time ago.”
The look on his face showed disbelief.
“Really? You don’t seem like the type to smoke.”
You were taken aback by his forwardness. “Excuse me?”
He chuckled softly. “Sorry, sweetheart, you just don’t seem like the type.”
“Hey, freshman and sophomore year were rough for me. What can I say?”
He laughed and sat in the chair by his desk, leaning back with his legs spread out casually. He flicked his lighter, covering the joint with one hand as he lit it. Inhaling deeply, he let out a smooth puff of smoke.
He looked incredibly attractive in that moment.
Each time he took a hit, he maintained eye contact with you, making you shift uncomfortably in your spot. It was becoming harder to maintain your composure, and you eventually had to look away, focusing on the moon outside the window. You noticed another joint on the sill and briefly considered joining him. Only Ten had ever seen you high. You usually preferred to smoke alone because you didn’t like being around others while doing it.
“You can take one if you want, love. I see you eyeing them,” Winwin teased.
You glanced back at him, considering it.
“I don’t know… I haven’t smoked in over a year, and I’ve been trying to stay away from it.”
He stood up from his chair, walked over to the window, grabbed the joint, and handed it to you.
“Come on, just this once. Besides, it’s been a while for you, right? You’ve been stressed about exams. It’ll help take the edge off.”
He did have a fair point. The whole reason you came over was to de-stress from your upcoming exams. Reluctantly, you agreed, and he handed you the lighter. As usual, you struggled to get it to work. It always took you what felt like a million tries before you got it right. Noticing your frustration, he sat beside you on the bed.
He gently took the lighter from your hand and lit it effortlessly on the first try. You felt a little embarrassed watching him do it so easily.
He watched closely—perhaps a little too closely—as you wrapped your lips around the joint, forming an O with your mouth. The sight alone made his body react, a twitch in his pants betraying his thoughts.
"Good girl," he said, knowing exactly what effect it would have on you. As soon as the words left his mouth, you instinctively moved your knee away, and he noticed you subtly pressing your thighs together. He silently registered this reaction.
You started to cough after inhaling, which he found oddly endearing. He was amused that you still coughed even though you had done this before. But when he saw a tear streak down your cheek, his laughter stopped. You shot him a dirty look and went quiet, unsure if he should make his next move.
“It’s okay—you look pretty when you cry,” he said softly.
For some reason, his words were starting to affect you. A faint arousal stirred inside you.
“Oh, shut up,” you muttered, but you couldn’t help the way your body responded.
He laughed, and the two of you continued passing the joint between each other. As the night wore on, he played some background music, and you started to feel more at ease. You even got to know Winwin better, something you hadn’t expected.
At some point, you both ended up lying on his bed, having finished smoking. You were wrapped in his blankets, playfully bantering back and forth.
“So, is this why you’re always in your room whenever I come over? Hiding away and smoking all day?” you teased.
He laughed at your question. “Well, some of the time, yes. But most of the time, I’m just sleeping.”
You nodded at his answer, but you were becoming more aware of how dangerously close the two of you had gotten. All night, you couldn’t stop locking eyes with each other. He slowly placed his hand on your face, cupping it gently.
“You look so pretty tonight. Even when we were playing truth or dare earlier, I couldn’t keep my eyes off you.”
You felt flustered by all the attention he was giving you. You never imagined you’d end up in his bed like this.
“Why are you saying all of this to me now?”
With his other hand, he wrapped his arm around your waist and pulled you onto his lap.
“Why not? I’ve been thinking about it the whole time.”
You felt him shift beneath you, something hard pressing against you. He just smirked, his hands now resting on your waist. A warmth spread through your body at his touch, and you could feel yourself melting on top of him. The sensation was overwhelming, and instinctively, you started to rub against him back and forth.
“Oh, you really like this, huh, sweetie?”
You were too embarrassed to respond, so you just nodded, feeling a wave of heat rush over you. You couldn’t even bring yourself to look him in the eye. He gently lifted your chin, pulling you closer, until you were just inches away from his face.
“Look at me when I’m talking to you.”
Your heart was racing faster than ever. The smoking from earlier had heightened your arousal, and all you wanted was to kiss him—but something was holding you back, telling you not to.
But you couldn’t resist him. Leaning in, you pressed your lips against his. He was slightly taken aback by your boldness but didn’t mind at all. His hands lowered to your hips, slowly gliding down to cup your ass. You let out a low whimper, and he smirked against your lips, taking note of your reaction.
With his hands still on you, he pulled you even closer and broke the kiss with a soft moan. “You’re excited about this, aren’t you?” he teased, clearly enjoying how much he was affecting you.
All of this was overwhelming, but you craved more. Wrapping your arms around his neck, you kissed him again, deeper this time.
But he had other plans for you.
His hands roamed over your body, caressing the arch of your lower back. The simple touch made you flinch—it felt like your whole body was on high alert, hypersensitive to everything. His hand slipped lower, and when he pressed against the wet spot through your shorts, he grinned. The smirk on his face made your heart race even faster.
“Get up for a second,” he murmured, signaling for you to stand. You did as he asked, and he swiftly removed your shorts and panties.
You straddled him again, and as you settled back down, he slid one finger inside you. The sensation made you moan almost instantly. His cool touch combined with the heat radiating from your body sent waves of pleasure through you. You threw your head back, overcome by the feeling.
“God, how are you this wet already? All we’ve done is kiss,” he said, his voice laced with amusement. “Who would’ve thought you were this needy for me?”
“P-please… don’t stop…” you managed to say, breathlessly.
“Oh, I don’t plan on it, love,” he replied with a smirk. He added a second finger, and you let out a louder moan, unable to contain yourself. The pleasure was too much, and neither of you seemed to care if the others in the house could hear.
Lost in your own world, you started to move your hips, riding his fingers, desperate for more. He loved every second of it, but your sounds were growing louder, and a brief hint of anxiety flickered in his eyes. Not wanting anyone to interrupt, he lifted your shirt with his free hand and made you bite it, holding it between your teeth.
You were confused for a moment until you realized what he was after—your tits.
Your boobs were finally on full display, and his gaze lingered. He hadn’t been exaggerating when he said he couldn’t keep his eyes off you tonight, especially with the way your tank top hugged your body, clearly revealing that you hadn’t bothered to wear a bra.
With his free hand, he groped one breast, leaning in to suck and gently bite the other. You were a trembling mess, overwhelmed by sensation. Tears welled up in your eyes as you bit down hard on your shirt, trying to muffle your sounds. Everything felt so sensitive, so heightened. It wasn’t supposed to feel this good, but somehow, he was making it impossible for you to stay quiet.
Suddenly, he switched sides, sucking the other nipple and kneading your boob while adding a third finger inside you. Your body was shaking, teetering on the edge, and you didn’t know how much more you could take. You felt his smirk against your skin.
“You’re getting close?”
All you could do was nod, unable to form words. He stopped teasing your chest and began pumping his fingers faster. To make it even worse, he started rubbing your clit with his thumb. The sensations were too much, pushing you closer to the edge. Desperate for release, you pulled your shirt off completely and wrapped yourself around him, burying your face in the crook of his neck. Your heavy breathing against him sent goosebumps down his spine.
And then it happened—you came hard, spilling all over his fingers and the bedsheets, making a mess of everything. But before you could catch your breath or say anything, he flipped you onto the bed, now on top of you.
“Now it’s my turn,” he said with a dark grin.
“But I just—”
“I don’t care,” he interrupted, his voice firm. “Besides, you can take it.”
He quickly stripped off his joggers, boxers, and shirt, leaving you no time to protest.
“I know you can,” he coaxes, leaning in close.
He had such a stern and cold look in his eyes that it sent shivers down your spine. You could see how long and girthy he was, and while you had a feeling he’d be packing, it still made you nervous about whether or not you could take him. But before you could dwell on your thoughts, he wasted no time and slowly pushed his way inside you.
You threw your head back against the pillow, letting out the loudest moan of the night. Everything felt so sensitive right now that there was no way to hold back your moans. He started fucking you with a rough and steady pace, expertly hitting all the right places, making you feel good in ways you never imagined.
As he thrust deeper into you, the intensity grew, and he had to grip the top of the headboard for support. Although he didn’t heavily express it, you sensed that he felt extremely sensitive too, but he was experienced enough to keep his composure.
His golden necklace dangled in front of you, its coolness contrasting with the heat building between your bodies. All you could do was lay there and moan for him to take it easy and slow down. The sensations were becoming overwhelming as you started to feel overstimulated. You had just come all over his fingers, and now it felt like you were on the brink of doing it again on his cock.
“I-I don’t think I can last much longer,” you gasped, your voice breathy.
He noticed you tightening around him and wrapped one hand around your neck, shoving himself even deeper inside your wet core. You both teetered on the edge and with a few more thrusts, you felt the wave of pleasure crash over you as you both climaxed at the same time, making an even bigger mess than before.
He instantly pulled out of you, spilling the rest of himself onto your chest. Letting out a sigh, he chuckled to himself, glancing down at the scene before you.
“Look at this mess we made.”
You looked down, and all you could see was a mix of your fluids. Embarrassment washed over you, and you instinctively shoved your hands over your face.
“Oh, I’m so sorry for this! I’ll clean it up, and—”
He instantly left the room for a moment and returned with a couple of washcloths. Efficiently, he cleaned you up and swiftly changed the sheets on his bed, the movements smooth and practiced.
“You didn’t have to do all this, you know,” you said, watching him work.
“I had to; I’m the reason I got you into this mess, literally,” he replied with a playful smirk.
You let out a laugh, realizing the joke he was trying to make. His casual attitude made you feel at ease, even after everything that had just happened.
“Besides, you still have to spend the night here, and I couldn’t let you sleep on a dirty bed,” he added, glancing over his shoulder at you with a wink.
At that moment, you forgot all about the truth or dare game from earlier, and Hendery was the one who had set this whole situation in motion. You didn’t mind, though; you both had grown closer from this, and you even found yourself a new smoking buddy.

SICHENG WAS OVERTHINKING THINGS.
He’d been working non-stop, but he couldn’t deny his mind had drifted—right to his anniversary with you. He’d overheard you talking with one of your friends about how excited you were, how much you were looking forward to it. He wanted to make it perfect, something that would make you happy. Dinner reservations were easy, but they didn’t feel like enough. Should he get a gift? Plan a whole day out? Come up with something else that might be truly memorable?
Lost in his thoughts, he didn’t even notice when his bandmate, Kun walked in and took a seat across from him, observing him with a hint of amusement.
“Sicheng?”
Blinking, he looked up, a bit surprised to see Kun there. “Huh? Sorry, what did you say?”
Kun just laughed, shaking his head. “Not much. Just that it’s rare to see you this distracted unless you’re really deep in thought.”
“Yeah, maybe…” Sicheng rubbed the back of his neck, trying to brush it off. He didn’t want Kun reading too much into it.
“Lately, it’s like you’re in another world. Everything all right?”
“Yeah, of course…” Sicheng answered a little too quickly, trying to sound casual.
Kun just smirked at him. “You sure? I mean, there’s no comeback, no new schedules, and you’ve been back from China for a while. So the only thing I can think of is…Y/N.”
Sicheng let out a wry chuckle. Kun knew him too well. It was true; every free moment, his mind drifted back to you, to your anniversary, and to how he wanted to surprise you. He hadn’t expected one person could so easily take over his thoughts, filling him with the urge to make every moment with you special. “Alright, maybe you’re right,” he admitted, a slight smile tugging at his lips. “I just…want it to be perfect.”
“Why don’t you just ask her?” Kun pointed out.
“I’ll try I guess.” Sicheng knew it was a bit silly, but he couldn’t deny how much he’d changed since meeting you.
After wrapping up work, he headed home, the excitement building as he approached your room. Seeing you lying comfortably in bed, he slipped in quietly and sat beside you, gently brushing his fingers through your hair.
“Y/N…is there anything special you want to do for our anniversary?” He tried to keep his voice casual, hoping to hide just how much he’d been agonizing over it.
You looked up at him with a small smile. “Honestly? Just spending the weekend together sounds perfect. It’s been a while since we did that.” There was a slight hesitation in your voice, as if you didn’t want to ask for too much.
“You don’t have to hold back,” he said softly.
You shook your head, reassuring him, “I mean it, Sicheng. You’re always working so hard; I just want you to rest.”
Sicheng’s eyes softened. If there was ever a time for you to ask for anything, it was now, your anniversary of all days. Reaching out, he brushed the backs of his fingers along your cheek, your smile putting him more at ease. “Honestly? Seeing you smile is what makes me relax when I’m tired. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to make that happen.”
He thought back to when your relationship had first become public, some fans were supportive, some fans were not. The two of you saw some of your worst days, the only people to depend on for support was each other. But through it all, you’d both stayed strong, and now here you were, closer than ever.
“Besides, I can rest anytime,” he murmured, as he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer.
You chuckled and leaned forward, planting a gentle kiss on his forehead. “Well, I’m really happy that I can help you relax.”
Seeing the happiness on your face, he made up his mind—he’d plan something extraordinary for your anniversary, something that would bring that same beautiful smile to your face, even if you hadn’t asked for it.
The next morning, as Sicheng watered his plants, he found himself lingering by the peonies, their delicate petals reminding him of you. Maybe a bouquet would be a sweet anniversary gift? It wasn’t flashy, but it was heartfelt, and he couldn’t help but picture the smile it might bring to your face. As he absentmindedly watered the flowers, his thoughts drifted back to last night. You’d tried to be considerate, downplaying any big celebration just so he could rest. But he wanted you to feel comfortable expressing what you really wanted, even if he had a surprise up his sleeve.
That afternoon, after another agonizing day at that entertainment company, Sicheng made his way to a cozy flower shop owned by a friend’s family. The warm, fragrant air and the sight of bright blossoms felt like a haven from his hectic schedule. A new part-timer greeted him. He immediately recognized her as the new Thai-Chinese female trainee Ten had introduced to her a while back. Sherlisa. That was her name. With a smile, she asked what he was looking for.
“You want a bouquet of roses?” she asked, a curious smile forming from her lips. “That’s a little unexpected.”
Sicheng nodded, almost shyly. Meeting someone from work outside of work hours was awkward for him, especially it being a 19 year old trainee. He was glad dispatch had laid off his back for a while, since he hadn’t seen anyone following him around lately. “It’s for our anniversary. I just… I want Y/N to know what she means to me.”
Her eyes sparkled mischievously. “Oh, so you mean you’re ready to tell her you’re madly in love?”
Sicheng chuckled, glancing down at the counter. It was more than that, though. His thoughts returned to you, the way you’d changed his life without even trying. "My life already belongs to her," he murmured softly, more to himself than anyone else.
When he looked up, Sherlisa’s jaw had dropped a bit. “Damn boy, I knew you were whipped, but I didn’t think you were that whipped. If you’re serious about what you just said then that’s pretty much a proposal.”
“A Proposal?” He’d been so absorbed in the idea of making you happy that he hadn’t considered that. But now that it was out there, the thought settled in his heart with unexpected warmth as he started reflecting over his feelings.
“You want to live your life for her, right?,” Sherlisa added knowingly. “So maybe… make it a bouquet she’ll never forget?”
He could only smile, the decision suddenly clear. “Yeah… you’re right.” Picturing you in his mind, his heart swelled with certainty. Yeah, that’s basically what he wanted to tell her, yes. Ever since the two of you became a couple, his feelings for you have just grown stronger inside of his heart.
“Sherlisa,” he said, his voice steady and sure. “I need to change the number of roses in that bouquet.”
That night, Sicheng found himself outside your room again, his heart beating a little faster than usual as he knocked.
You smiled at him as you opened the door. “What’s up, Sicheng?”
He cleared his throat, trying to keep his composure. “I wanted to invite you out on a date.”
Your eyes widened, a flush creeping up your cheeks. “A date?” You sounded a little surprised, and it was so endearing that he had to resist the urge to throw his arms around you right then and there.
“Yeah… how about this? We’ll meet in front of SME on our anniversary, and then head somewhere special.” He hadn’t worked out every detail yet, but he had some ideas—something that would make this a night to remember.
“That sounds amazing,” you replied, a bit of hesitation still in your voice. “But… are you sure you’re not too busy?”
He gave you a gentle pat on the head, watching as your smile softened. “Don’t worry. I’ve made sure there’s nothing that could keep me from you that day.”
“All right, then! I’m excited already,” you said, beaming up at him. But, truth be told, it was him who could hardly contain his anticipation.
Leaning in close, he brushed his lips near your ear, his voice dropping to a warm murmur. “And make sure you don’t have any other plans that night, either.”
“O-Of course,” you stammered, your cheeks turning even pinker. Despite how long you two had been together, his spontaneous displays of affection always seemed to catch you off guard.
He smiled, brushing his lips over your flushed cheek in a quick, sweet kiss. “Good night, Y/N,” he whispered, pulling back reluctantly. As he turned to leave, a rush of excitement filled him, and he couldn’t help feeling excited about your anniversary already.
The next night, Sicheng made his way to a quiet pub tucked away from the bustling city. It was the kind of place he only went to for close friends— and this one he hadn’t seen in a while. As he entered, he spotted Jaehyun already waiting at the bar, nursing a drink and giving him a casual nod.
“Thanks for meeting me,” Sicheng said, sliding onto the seat beside him.
Jaehyun chuckled. “Anytime. Besides, I needed a night out myself.” He reached into his bag and handed Sicheng a small, glass vial filled with a clear, shimmering liquid. “Here’s the…potion, chemical—whatever you want to call it. If you put it on the flowers, they’ll stay fresh and won’t wilt forever.”
Sicheng took the vial, a wave of relief washing over him. “Thanks, Jae. Really.”
Jaehyun glanced at him curiously, eyebrows raised. “I’ve gotta ask…what’s with the magical flower potion request? You’re usually not the type to go all out on that kind of thing.”
Sicheng hesitated for a moment before taking a steadying breath. “I’m going to propose. To Y/N.”
Jaehyun’s eyes widened, nearly spilling his drink. “Propose? As in, marry?” He was definitely shocked, but within seconds, a smile spread across his face. “Sicheng, that’s amazing! I didn’t know you were thinking about it. Congratulations, man!”
Sicheng couldn’t help but smile back, the nerves mixing with excitement in his chest. “Thanks. I’ve thought it over so much lately. And this just…feels right.”
Jaehyun laughed, patting him on the back. “I always thought you’d be one of the last guys in our group to settle down, but it looks like love changes people.” He shook his head, looking impressed. “She must be really special.”
“She is,” Sicheng replied softly, picturing you in his mind. “She’s been with me through everything—the highs and the lows. She’s the one person I want by my side, no matter what.”
Jaehyun raised his glass with a warm smile. “Then here’s to you, man. And to Y/N. May she say yes and make you the happiest guy in the world.”
Sicheng lifted his own glass, clinking it with Jaehyun’s. “Here’s to hoping.”
As they drank, Sicheng felt a new sense of confidence settling over him. The night was filled with laughter, memories, and stories of the past. He had never imagined that his friends would be this supportive during one of the biggest moments of his life, and Jaehyun’s unwavering encouragement made him feel more ready than ever for the step he was about to take.
With renewed determination, he tucked the vial carefully into his pocket, knowing it would be the final touch to make his proposal perfect.
It was finally here—your anniversary. Sicheng’s heart raced the entire evening, each little detail of your date building up to this moment. Dinner had been perfect, and when you’d discovered that new cafe for dessert, your face lit up with excitement, making him feel like he’d already succeeded. But the real surprise was waiting back home.
“That dessert was amazing,” you said, still smiling as you unlocked the door.
“I’m glad you liked it,” he replied, unable to keep the excitement out of his voice.
As you stepped inside and turned on the lights, you froze, eyes going wide at the sight of a massive bouquet of roses waiting for you on the table. “Oh my gosh!” you gasped, looking between the flowers and Sicheng with an expression of pure delight. “There are so many!”
Sicheng couldn’t help but smile; you were reacting exactly as he’d imagined, if not better. He stepped forward, picking up the bouquet, the roses almost spilling out of his arms. “Today’s the anniversary of the day we became a couple.”
“Yes…” You looked up at him, eyes softening as a sentimental smile crossed your face.
He took a deep breath, his heart pounding. He had been thinking about this moment for days now, planning and preparing. This was it. “Did you know that giving someone 108 roses means asking them, ‘Will you marry me?’”
Your smile faded as you froze, eyes widening even more as you processed what he’d just said.
“I love you so much it makes me crazy,” he continued, his voice filled with emotion. “Since the day I met you, everything I do has been about making you happy. Being with you… it’s everything I’ve ever wanted.” He held out the bouquet which was practically overflowing from his arms, his voice soft yet steady. “So, will you accept this and say yes?”
Tears sparkled in your eyes as you reached out, fingers slightly trembling. “Yes, of course!” You took the bouquet from him, clutching it close to your chest, your smile radiant with joy.
Your eyes shimmered with tears, and Sicheng felt his heart swell. This was exactly the reaction he’d hoped for—a sign that you felt the depth of his love.
You lifted the bouquet, inhaling the sweet fragrance. “They’re gorgeous, and they smell amazing… I wish I could keep them forever, so I’d always remember this day.”
He smiled, feeling the joy bubbling inside him. “You can.”
Your eyes widened, puzzled. “What do you mean?”
He chuckled softly. “Those roses were treated with a special potion to keep them from wilting. They’ll stay just as beautiful… forever.”
“Wait, seriously?” You gasped, looking back at the bouquet with a mixture of wonder and disbelief. Almost like a kid in a toy store. “So they’ll stay like this, and I can keep them forever?”
“Yes.” Your cheeks slowly turned the same deep pink as the rose petals, and he took a step closer, cupping your face in his hands. “You sacrificed so much just to be with me,” he said, his voice tender. “I want to make all your dreams come true, no matter how small they are. Even if you wish for something as simple as a flower, I want to give it to you. I want to give you everything.”
You gazed up at him, emotions swirling in your tear-filled eyes. “Sicheng…”
“I want to spend the rest of my life making up for anything you’ve lost,” he whispered. “Because you’re the person I’ve been searching for all along. And I want to stay by your side forever, just so I can remind you every day how much I love you.”
He pulled you gently into his arms, holding you close. Your head rested against his chest, and he could feel the warmth of your embrace, the quiet joy that had always connected you two.
Sicheng felt as if his heart might burst. He gently cupped your face, his eyes filled with a sincerity that spoke louder than words. "I love you more than anyone in the entire world,” he murmured. It was rare for him to voice his feelings so openly, but tonight, they poured out effortlessly, the depth of his love shining through in every word.
A warm smile spread across your face, and you whispered, “I love you too, Sicheng. So please… stay with me forever.”
“Of course I will,” he replied softly, his gaze steady.
As you gazed into each other’s eyes, you felt the air grow thicker with a shared warmth. Unable to resist any longer, he leaned in, pressing his lips softly against yours. The kiss was gentle but full of promises, and when he pulled back, he took the bouquet from your arms, setting it carefully on the table.
Without a word, he swept you up into his arms, drawing a startled laugh from you. “Sicheng?” you whispered, cheeks flushed.
He grinned, feeling a sense of boldness he rarely indulged. “I want to see your smile from closer up.” Your scent drifted up to him, light and sweet like the roses you’d been holding, and he couldn’t help but lean in, nuzzling his nose against your cheek.
Your cheeks turned pink, and you wrapped your arms around his neck. “O-Okay…”
“Good girl,” he whispered, feeling your heart beating wildly against him as he carried you to the bed. As he gently lowered you down, you hesitated, fingers slowly releasing their hold on his neck. He brushed a soft kiss on your cheek, his fingertips trailing over your face and down to your lips.
He leaned in, voice barely above a whisper. “I want to see you the happiest you’ve ever been.” His fingers caressed your cheek, moving to your slightly parted lips. “Tell me what you want, and I’ll do it for you.”
You gazed up at him, your breath warm on his cheek. “You’ll do anything?” you murmured, an unmistakable glint of joy in your eyes.
“Yes,” he replied, his voice filled with certainty. “Name it.”
Your eyes dipped down shyly, and after a brief moment, you said softly, “Okay… I want you to stroke my hair.”
A soft chuckle escaped him, and he nodded, his fingers gently combing through your hair. You closed your eyes, your expression melting into one of pure happiness. “Your hands… they’re so big and gentle,” you whispered, your voice almost dreamlike. “I love them.”
He smiled, his heart swelling. “I’m glad to hear that.” He continued to run his fingers through your hair, brushing a tender kiss on your forehead. “Anything else?”
You looked up at him, your gaze softened with affection. “I want you to kiss me…”
His lips curved into a warm smile, and he leaned down, his mouth finding yours in a tender, lingering kiss. The world faded away, leaving only the two of you in this perfect, quiet moment, wrapped up in each other. He kissed you again, and again, savoring each touch, feeling his love deepen with every brush of his lips against yours. Your breath hitched, and he could feel the echo of his heartbeat mirrored in you.
He was yours, eternally yours. He’d spend his life by your side, sharing each joy, every little moment, every kiss, forever and always.

sicheng has become long used to coming home and seeing y/n in the middle of another artistic project. it's usually a painting, because that's the easiest thing to do in their small apartment, one the two of them fought tooth and nail to be able to afford. on some days he'll be creating costumes out of construction paper, or he'll be sewing, or he'll just be sketching on the couch.
it's become somewhat of a staple of comfort to him, maybe it's because of how recognizable it is to come home and see y/n, eyebrows furrowed, head tilted, the slightest smudge of paint on his face as his eyes are completely focused on the canvas before him. there's always a small smile that comes to his face whenever he hears the door open, sicheng only catches it on the most certain of days, though.
and maybe it's weird that sicheng remembers every single detail of what happens after he comes home from exhausting classes where all his professor does is talk about is nonsense, this is kind of like the only silver lining to his day after hours of just nothing but life draining lectures.
and no it's definitely not because y/n is just the best serotonin every single feeling sicheng has for him is completely platonic and platonic only!
it's as he's untying his shoes, that he realizes today something is different. y/n is humming, to a song the two of them hear their neighbors blast through the walls every now and then, he assumes the tune got stuck in his head, and he just can't help but now him it to himself.
sicheng puts his shoes away, he glances up for a moment, and pauses, waiting. he then smiles to himself as he watches y/n smile himself, finally acknowledging his presence. "i didn't even hear you, the door closed so quietly".
y/n's comment makes him snicker, but his eyes still don't leave the canvas, so focused on what he's painting in fact that he doesn't register the paint on his cheek. sicheng, like he does on most days, walks up towards y/n and quickly wipes off the paint with his thumb.
y/n makes a small noise, but he ultimately doesn't shy away from sicheng's hand, almost leaning into the touch if sicheng thinks about it. "how do you never notice when you have paint on your face?" sicheng asks, going over to the sink to wash the paint off his thumb.
"an artist never strays away from their artistic craft" y/n comments mindlessly, and sicheng's eyebrows furrow just for a mere moment before he looks back to his roommate, still focused on the random color he's spreading across the canvas.
"did you just make that up, or..?" at the question, y/n finally turns around after what seemed like hours of standing in the same spot, and he snickers at the way sicheng asks it.
"yep, made it up just now".
the response makes sicheng snort, because he knows that's absolutely true considering the kind of person y/n is. "you.. your something alright" sicheng doesn't know why those words are the ones that come out of his mouth, but they make y/n laugh.
"ah thanks, you make me feel so smart, chengie" y/n looks back to the painting, stepping back just a little bit to admire it. he removes his gloves and tosses them away, yawning lightly. "does it look nice?"
sicheng blinks, glancing over at y/n, who is patiently waiting for his answer. he mindlessly stares at the painting of a snowy mountaintop as he tries to think of a compliment he hasn't said thousands of times already. "it's marvelous" y/n gives him a look of confusion, and sicheng just snickers as he does those jazz hands.
"you couldn't at least be a little bit more creative with your compliment?" y/n's face scrunches a little bet, and sicheng just shrugs, rubbing his eyes.
"i'm tired i don't have time for creativity" sicheng yawns, and y/n gives him another judgmental look. "ask me when i'm more awake" he shouts as he walks towards his room, leaving y/n to admire his painting all alone.
y/n snickers, shaking his head.
what a character you are, dong sicheng..
Tumblr media
"do you assume van gogh was a weird guy?"
sicheng barely registers the question, because the only sound he's heard for the past twenty minutes is the horribly loud clicking of y/n's pen as he brainstorms ideas for upcoming projects, assignments, and all that other stuff. he narrows his eyes at his laptop screen before looking up at y/n, who was finally done clicking his pen and began sketching.
"what?" is his immediate response, probably because he didn't have enough time to properly assess or process that question. the other thing that being y/n's roommate comes with is having to hear the most random and weird questions. "i'm sorry?"
"van gogh" y/n says again, smiling innocently. "you know, the painter gu—"
"i know who van gogh is y/n" sicheng clarifies, sighing. "i just— what do you think i know about the personality of a famous artist who died over a hundred years ago?" he raises an eyebrow, momentarily glancing back down at his computer screen as he hears y/n's loud sigh.
"i'm researching about him for this project i'm doing".
"you did a project about van gogh already.." sicheng mutters in confusion, and he hears y/n's pen click once again, then the slam of his sketchbook. "didn't you?"
"oh this isn't for school!" y/n exclaims. "i'm just doing it for fun!"
"what kind of psycho does a project for fun?" at the words, y/n snorts, and sicheng can't help but gaze at him. yeah, it's stupid, but he's just so cute, and sicheng has no idea why he's staring this long at him.
fuck, i probably look crazy. i'm literally zoning out on his face, what kind of moron does that?
at least he's self aware.
"nothing?"
"what?"
"on van gogh?" y/n clarifies, and sicheng blinks like an idiot, because what else would y/n be talking about? he shakes his head, and y/n pouts in an unserious manner.
"at least your here to humor me" y/n says, picking his sketchbook back up as he begins flipping through it, he pauses at a certain page and smiles brightly at what's sketched on it.
sicheng doesn't really know what y/n draws in his sketchbook. y/n is pretty big on privacy, so sicheng never made it his thing to figure out what's in y/n's sketchbook because he doesn't want him to.
though, the way y/n's smiling at his sketchbook gets him curious.
"are the sketches causing you that much joy?"
y/n snaps up, his face going embarrassingly red as he closes his sketchbook once again. he smiles, then awkwardly laughs as he looks away, lightly scratching his arm. "yeah, um.. i just really like the sketches i made".
sicheng laughs, glancing back at his computer screen. it's so hard not to constantly stare at you when your.. well— you.
but they're just friends, nothing more.
Tumblr media
"when i was younger i always wanted a garden of strawberries" y/n states as he paints said garden of strawberries on the canvas in front of him.
y/n is always the most busy on weekends with his artistic projects. he'll legitimately spend half of his day painting, another half making a halloween costume even though halloween won't come for the next seven months, and the other half sewing a sweater he's going to wear once every few months. sicheng has seen it all, and he's gotten used to the normalization of y/n just doing another artistic craft everyday, still being able to rest a whole eight hours.
he admires his way of just being such.. what is the phrase, a hard worker, he could say. y/n was just always up, doing something, he was never bored or not doing something, he was very much just an always working person.
"strawberries? out of everything?" sicheng asks, stirring the spoon in his cup of coffee mindlessly, he's too busy staring at y/n to pay attention to his now cooling cup of coffee. y/n gives him one of the most judgmental looks ever.
"what do you mean? out of everything? strawberries are amazing!" y/n counters, and sicheng laughs at his tone of voice. "they're one of the best things mankind has ever actually made".
"okay but why a garden of them?"
"so i can make strawberry flavored things everyday, duh" y/n dismisses the amount of red coloring on his apron, and his gloves, too busy trying to figure out how to finish his painting of his dream garden of strawberries.
y/n narrows his eyes at the painting, studying it for a moment, like he was trying to figure out if the painting was talking to him or not. "is this ugly?"
"what?"
"the painting? is it ugly?"
sicheng furrows his eyebrows, staring at y/n like he just asked the stupidest question in the world. y/n usually doesn't care about his opinion when it comes to paintings, because sicheng isn't an artist like he is, so sicheng has no idea why he would suddenly ask him about what he thought about his painting so suddenly.
"no? your paintings are never ugly.. why would you ask that?"
sicheng's question-answer makes y/n narrow his eyes at him. sicheng assumes he wasn't expecting that answer that then turned into a question, with the way he goes silent, and with the way his face flushes so much more obviously than it usually does.
sicheng doesn't get why he notices that the most, y/n is pretty unpredictable, he gets flustered at some of the most random times, and it's only at certain moments that sicheng notices how red his face is.
it's hot in the room, that's it, that's why, there is absolutely no other reason his face is so red right now.
he's just thinking of excuses.
"thank you" he whispers, turning back to his painting as he removes his paint splattered gloves. "it's a new day, i just wanted your opinion".
"that's strange".
"well if i'm not strange then i'm not interesting" y/n hums as he puts the finishing touches on his painting, and with his back turned, sicheng can admire him fully, without worrying about him getting caught and then having to explain why he was staring for so long.
sicheng is so busy admiring him, he doesn't even notice that he hasn't taken a sip of his coffee yet.
