#I mean as a black hazel stan: what lol#see my replies in this thread for more detail on this#this is getting into a strange territory of “you can give white characters (i.e. annabeth/percy) unnatural characteristics but not the poc”#why do poc have to be excluded from having ~magical~ phenotypes in a fantasy setting if it's part of the worldbuilding#like Yes green and gray eyes occur in real life. but percy and annabeth get that from their godly parent and not human genetics#even thalia and jason are described as having “electric blue” eyes. have you seen electric blue. that does not occur in real life#I find piper's kaleidoscope mood ring eyes more questionable on rick's end because as far as we know no other aphrodite kids have it#silena definitely didn't unless you count the consistency error with her eye color going from brown to blue in two different books lol#but like is it not cool that the girl who can control gold has gold colored eyes. she obviously gets this because of her powers#and I'm biased because I myself don't have black hair but why do people take issue with hazel having brown hair#this is not on the same level as artists drawing hazel with pale skin or piper with red skin/feathers in her hair/dreamcatcher earrings/etc#if artists want to draw piper and hazel with dark hair and dark eyes I think that's fair and makes sense. but this is not a worthwhile#criticism to direct towards an artist. from the bottom of my heart: it's literally fine#baye.txt#pjo
