minimizes to a small icon when not in use (& shows a lil badge if you started writing a comment for the work you're currently reading)

I think the appeal is due to some fanart I've seen with Jade X Trey that portrays them as very silly! Specifically, Jade being a bit unhinged, obsessed and silly with Trey! It's very funny to me and I like to think with the addition of Reader/Yuu, it's even better!

To me, Trey is attracted to the type of person who he doesn't actively have to take care of, but likes to come to him for the little things. He's already tired of having to always be the parental or brotherly figure for others. He doesn't mind doing it sometimes, but all the time is exhausting.

Jade and Yuu are the type of partners who are very capable of taking care of themselves. Trey doesn't have to worry about always looking after either of them, but he does like it when they come to him for some things.

Jade I think would tease Trey because of his first perceptions of him (for example, Trey's views of Jade in Jade's Ceremonial Robes vignette) and play up the whole, "woe is me, my brother and Azul mercilessly bully me :'("

Yuu is just a tad bit of a troublemaker who likes to tease Trey and give him trouble from time to time, so it pairs well with Jade! They prod at him a lot until he's at his limit, and then giggle and give him each a kiss on the cheek.

Jade also likes Yuu because of how entertaining they are, the amount of chaos they cause. They're a cute little human that just needs his protecting! And also because they enable him in teasing Trey, which is fun.

They're also very good at providing Trey with a mode to de-stress...nights in Trey's room when all three are present are sure to be fun~

ok i put a longer post abt tim's Emotional State in drafts for when my brain is less melted but re: tim and going to college im just gonna get a lil silly with it. hear me out.

i have this whole vague story in my mind for tim's college days moonlighting as red robin as he tries and figures out what he wants out of life. (it's a while after rr leaves off and all because he's like. Super Depressed for a hot minute and then has to drag himself through actually bothering to get his GED and applying to college, etc., but eventually lucius is like hey. you're great with gadgets, and you clearly love tinkering. i'd hire you for r&d in a heartbeat but you need at the least a bachelor's of engineering. i know you have a lot of the technical skills, but you need a degree. so tim goes ugh fine i'll get a goddamn engineering degree how hard can it possibly be.)

anyways. i think it's a universal experience that if you go to college and you hang with the STEM crowd, you will unfortunately get to know at least one Fucking Guy. it's like brentwood arc; tim does make friends, but there is just this One Fucking Guy he cannot stand and will never stand. this Fucking Guy is in the common room playing his guitar at midnight. he's drunk and yelling and laughing really loud when people have exams coming up. he's convinced everyone adores him. there's also a detective/supernatural plot going on. the subplot is just that tim hates This Fucking Guy.

at some point, there's a story beat where he as red robin has to rescue That Fucking Guy from a real dicey situation, and That Fucking Guy is really shaken and grateful to him, and he's like okay. maybe. maybe we are making progress. but then the next time he encounters This Fucking Guy as tim drake, the guy is just like. "ohhhh hey drake you missed it last night, it was AWESOME!!! i had to save red robin from a KILLER ROBOT. he's pretty cool though i guess. i bet you wish you could be more like him huh??" and tim is just. I Will Not Grind My Teeth About This. I Will Not. his life is a fucking joke. he dismantles the toaster oven in the common room kitchen to cope. it's definitely to cope and not just so that That Fucking Guy won't be able to heat up his pop tarts in the morning.

at another point, This Fucking Guy looks at street mode, lowkey, unremarkable Normal Car-looking redbird and goes, aw, dude, i thought your dad is loaded?? he only got you a generic-ass sedan?? that sucks lol, if you want we can take my car down to the game instead. and tim is just Say One More Fucking Word About My Baby I Dare You I Fucking Dare You One More Fucking Word.

(also i like to toy with the idea of this being a university in metropolis - he's out of gotham, but not too far. keeps him from getting antsy about what if he's needed because he can get right back over there. and in the meantime, he can hang out with kon and kara a lot, and occasionally enable and be enabled by lois lane and her snooping habits. there's another subplot in which tim and lois get up to shenanigans. at least once.)

it's sort of an introspective thing of him trying to come to terms with the way he no longer wants a fully normal life the way he always used to assume he would - he has the option to walk away from the cape now, like he always thought he would one day, but he just can't give it up anymore. he's fallen into the same black hole he watched dick and bruce dive headlong into. it's also about him finding joy in tinkering and working with his hands and getting to spend more time as tim drake first and foremost. and it's about him venting to kon about That Fucking Guy while they have a lil picnic on the green while kon loses his absolute shit laughing. all against the backdrop of a little mystery or something. <3

OH and also, most importantly. zoanne wilkins is there and laughing at him for assuming college would be easy. and kon gets her into wendy the werewolf stalker. My City Now.

Hey so I'm not very tech savvy but I was wondering if adding random silly lines or just something that makes no sense between paragraphs/sentences on our fics can poison AI if the fics are scraped?? I tried something by adding some random lines with white text between paragraphs of my fic which don't show up on default ao3 mode but they are a part of the text nonetheless. Of course that'll involve more efforts on part of the writers to add lines and format the white text using html and workskins but if it does turn out to be effective it might make ao3 less lucrative for AI scraping if a major amount of works contain this and it'll make it harder for AI training. It does have drawbacks that it'll only work on default mode so anyone using dark skin on ao3 might have to switch to be able to read properly and it'll make works less accessible to readers who use text to audio if there are random lines in between but what other options are we left with if even archive locking our works doesn't work??

You absolutely could, but there are limitations to that.

For one, like you said, you're making your work inaccessible to certain readers. That's fully within your rights, though I think most of us strive not to exclude people using screen readers.

Second, from what I know, when you download a dataset like this and intend to use it to train an AI model, you first go through the dataset looking for obvious junk data and toss that out. So if you're putting something that is clearly not real fanfic in there, any decent data analyst is probably going to spot it and toss your fic. If that's your goal, that's a win for you. Personally, if I'm making the effort to inject poison data, my goal is to be included in the training data used so I can trash the model, so I don't want it to be obvious.

Third, I don't see anything explicitly in AO3's TOS against adding data poison in this way, but I don't see them endorsing doing that either. It feels like a grey area to me, and I'm not sure you're allowed to do it, so I am not recommending anyone do this. Rest of this post is theoretical.

So theoretically, how I would do it is putting the junk data at the end of the fic/chapter. Hide it like you're saying, by changing the font and/or background color of the section with CSS. Then put a nice, clear message right after the chapter ends and the junk data starts, something like, "Hey, readers! This chapter is over. Turn off your screen reader and move to the next chapter now." That gives your real humans a warning and stops them from being confused or wasting their time. Then dump your poison. You can also write something in the beginning A/N, I believe. I know this most recent scraper never ever pulled data from the author's notes, so the AI wouldn't see anything you put in that section.

Scrapers are typically pulling your work without the workskin enabled, so for formatting, you're really just trying to make it look nice for your real readers so they don't have to see your poison.

As far as actual poison, my suggestions:

Your own writing or writing you have explicit permission to use, so you're not breaking anyone's copyright. Easy mode: jumbled paragraphs of your own past works for any fandom except the one your current fic is for.

As mentioned above, don't put absolute nonsense in there. If it's bad enough, it'll be spotted and filtered out. Like, if it's not even real words, anyone feeding it to AI is probably going to catch that and toss your data out, excluding it from the model. It might be fine if it's all real words, but not in any sensible order. Not sure on that. But don't just insert keysmashes if you want your data to be used in the AI training.

Terrible crackfic would be good. So would writing for a completely different fandom and different tags. The writing should not fit well with the tags you use for the fics. (So if the real fic is tagged Fluff and Alternative Universe - Coffee Shop, your poison should not include that. Make the poison a hurt no comfort canon-compliant fic or something else different.)

Keep in mind you should not be putting E-rated data poison in a G-rated fic. Real humans may still see this no matter how much you hide it, particularly if they download a PDF copy of your fic. If it's content that requires a warning per AO3's rules (explicit content, graphic violence, etc), you do still have to tag for that, even if it's designed to be invisible to humans.

Use unique writing, so even if someone later using it for AI catches it once, they can't just search for the exact wording you used in one fic and easily filter out all the rest of your poison. Again, this is if you want to be included in the AI training to throw the model off.

Again, theoretically, if I were going to do this, this is the CSS code I might use for my poison section of the fic:

#workskin .fuckai { background: #333333; color: #333333; font-size: 1%; }

It would theoretically look like a weird grey gap to mobile users or be nearly invisible to desktop users, even if it contained, say... 1,000 additional words.

Finally, scrapers are trying to grab millions of fics from AO3 when they do it. They're not looking closely at 13 million fics. They're only searching for the most obvious junk. So the only reason you would want to hide it like that is to make a better experience for your real readers. You don't need to hide it to get it into a scraper's AI model.

The Trigger to Sanji's (Germa) Powers

I'm sure everyone has noticed that it's been thrice now that Sanji's eyebrow has changed directions possibly signifying his shift to his Germa mode.

Now this won't be about (primarily) sanami since I think (quite ironically) the trigger for when Sanji shifts into his 'emotionless' Germa mode is actually his passionate emotions, and I would say primarily his anger and his drive to protect someone, which most often gets triggered in relation to Nami. I say that this won't primary be about sanami since I don't think Nami would be the only one to trigger that side of him. I think any life-or-death situation which would need him to protect Robin, for example, or any other crew member might trigger the shift. We just haven't seen it yet. I find it a bit ironic and also a bit sad that the first time this happened Sanji was struggling with what he thinks Luffy needs on his crew - the kind Sanji but the one who can't fight women, or the ruthlessly efficient yet emotionless Sanji. It's ironic that it would be his drive to protect his crew that might lead him to becoming the person he hates - but that is also on brand for Sanji, self-sacrificial as he is.

At the same time, it is also true that Nami (again ironic) might be the person closest to triggering that side of him. As many others have pointed out, he has already exclaimed so many times how willing he is to be a devil or demon if it's for Nami. I've seen some interesting observations about how Sanji is starting to mirror Hancock's speech patterns, like using 'insolent'. Which leaves me nervous, because apart from his kindness, Sanji is characterized by his humility. And him using the word 'beloved (itoshiki)'. (Again not discounting the possibility that the Sanji-Hancock parallel may be because of their 'unrequited' feelings). Which made me squeal (but apparently he has already called Nami, itoshi or dear before, anyway I digress). Again irony because apart from Luffy, it was Nami who saw him at his worst version when he pretended to be Vinsmoke scum and acting all high and mighty, the opposite of himself, and she absolutely hated it, driving her to despair. It's quite tropey but I worry about a scenario where Sanji willingly loses his sense of self for Nami (perhaps even Usopp or Luffy, with Zoro attempting to fulfill the promise to end him) and her absolutely hating it because of what it will cost them. Roaring rampage of revenge is a trope for a reason, and has never ended well ever.

Anyway, onto more lighter stuff. I absolutely loved these last two chapters! Sanji's game has been steadily improving in the New World, who would have thought? Honestly, Sky Walk (huhu, and now I cry realizing his new name for the move might have been a homage to Sora) might have been the best thing he ever learned since it lets him carry girls more often. But on Nami's side, I think she is actually getting used to being carried by him. Other people have pointed out the subtle shift to their dynamic. Like for meta reasons Nami is almost always asleep or unconscious for Sanji's gestures, but that may be changing like when she smiled happily at him when he caught her in WCI unlike in Thriller Bark, or even now when she's awake as he piggy-back carries her unlike in Drum Kingdom. I also love the subtle callbacks too like in Jaya.

This is what I mean (rip Usopp lol) about that subtle shift. Nami was sometimes dismissive when Sanji was being all silly like this ('Do you love me now?!' 'Hai, hai.'), but it's nice that she can sometimes act spoiled with him too.

BUT, BUT, mainly I loved these two chapters for the peak East Blue crew dynamic. Two idiots and three idiots' minders, with Sanji blatantly pointing out how Zoro enables Luffy. I seriously love their dynamic. With them finding Chopper in the most recent chapter, I wonder if Oda-sensei is referencing the One Piece Live Action here. A girl can dream haha (I mean I already thanked him for fulfilling my dreams. Like there was absolutely no reason to have the sanami princess carry on the first page, he could have had all of them together already on the ground level, but I will not say no to the fanservice).

"Belated" for reasons both substantial (IRL work hit me this week) and silly (I'm not embarrassed to say I had to look up what "OTP" means). I tried to follow my asker's moodboard/vibes idea, but I totally failed, so this one’s a bit long below the cut.

I tend to recycle my same fave images of these two, and since those are in their tag and the links below, I staged some Cannor x Minthara non-cutscene snaps in Photo Mode for (slightly) better poses/image quality: their view from Wyrm's Lookout (scroll down here for original), a nice day in the park becomes an unexpected impasse (original), hecklers beware (original), and a conference at the map table (original). This couple's vibe is a balanced combination of "culture shock" with "home and purpose," a resolutely solid shell protecting a soft, devoted center. It’s them against the world, but tactful, covert, intentional. The glue is their maturity, which helps them endure both the unique circumstantial crisis that mashed them together (the BG3 worm-brain plot) and (for however long it lasts) their post-game relationship. Wish them luck, because they're gonna need it.

As a musical lute-and-lyre duo, they’ve taken on the band name “Lute the Bodies” (I think they’re established enough on here to carry the blog’s name), but their true name is “Our Days Are Numbered” (which may not be substantial enough for a fic, but could be for a song), because they’re grown-up enough to be realistic about appreciating each day together as it comes.

Flu season part 2

"Sel? Seline?"

She reacted to her name and looked up at Matthew's silhouette over her with a frown. "Hmm?"

"Why are you sitting there?" He reached out his hand to her to help her stand up.

Seline was on the floor for the third time that afternood. Getting her boots off was a challenge when her fingers were this uncoordinated.

She let Matthew pull her up her feet, his worried expression sobering her up.

"How are you holding up? Sorry it took so long." She shrugged off her coat, not in the mood to put it on the rack in her savings energy mode.

Matthew looked so unhappy and guilty she just grabbed the bag and passed him by to their living room central of sickness.

Isaiah was on his back, two pillows stacked underneath him to help with the breathing and pressure from his heart. He looked as pasty and passed out as half an hour ago.

Seline sat down next to him on the edge. He needed a second to register her cold palm on his cheek, slowly blinking his eyes at her.

"Hey, where did you go?" The emerald green really shined when he was this sick.

"To get you meds, silly." She took the package by memory, shaking out the pills and pushing them against his lips. She grabbed the glass of water next, her hand on his arm to stabilise him.

Isaiah didn't protest the pills, swallowing with a grimace before falling back against the pillows. He had that dreamy zone out look, when he reached out to her face to brush a strand of hair behind her ear.

She smiled, tempted to just faceplate against his chest and curl up against the warm nest of blankets. Why did she have to be the grown up here again?

There was a retch and then a cough that quickly reminded her why.

She gave Isaiah's hands a gentle squeeze and got up. From the sofa she had a good view into the kitchen.

Matt was braced against the sink, retching and coughing out his lung. Only drips of saliva and a mouthful of liquid came up. He was running this empty and still so nauseous?

Seline walked over quickly, thumping his back. "You need to stop moving around. Come on, let's get you passed out in a horizontal position."

Matt coughed and spat the residual spit into the sink. His eyes were watering. "Can we all fit onto the sofa?"

She couldn't help the little fond smile. "That's why we got such a big one."

His shoulders sagged in relief. He took several long breaths to catch his balance before taking the exhausting track of five steps to the sofa and collapsing on the other side, opposite of Isaiah.

Seline leaned against the counter, trying to calculate what to bring with her to minimize further trips.

10 minutes later, they were all settled on the sofa with a large bottle of water, a bowl of icy water and three small towels, the bag of medication in the center of the table.

Seline climbed up into the middle, between Isaiah and Matthew's feet. First thing she wanted to do was put the cold wet towel and wrap her face in it. Her cheeks had that burning feeling again and her head was throbbing from the constant focus.

She wrapped one around her neck before taking the other and folding it nicely over Isaiah's forehead.

His lips stretched into a thin smile at the contact. "You are living out your kdrama fantasies, aren't you?"

Seline burst into a chuckle. "Truly. Thank you for getting so feverish to enable me."

There was shuffling around behind her. Matthew took an empty cup and was currently drooling over it with a miserable expression.

The blonde sighed, turning around to lean on Isaiah's pillows. Holding her head up was so difficult, the gravity was pulling her to sleep. "Your stomach's still so upset?"

Matthew's cheeks puffed out in an empty gag, a string of saliva hanging off his chin. He had a hand wrapped tightly around his middle. "Hurts," he confirmed.

"How are we going to get the anti-nausea meds in you when you can't keep anything down?" Seline mused, her head falling against Isaiah's shoulder.

The red-head shrugged, leaning back, obviously having difficulty hold himself up too.

Isaiah's eyes opened. "C'me here." He patted the spot on the pillows next to him. It was admittedly a little narrow for such a large man as Matt.

Matthew looked at it longingly though, before grimacing. "Why? So I can throw up on you too while I'm at it?"

"At least you'll feel a bit better while doing it," Isaiah said with a tired smile. He was weirdly affectionate and smiley from the fever.

Matthew made a face, but didn't take long to give in. In a few minutes of awkward shuffling, they were all pressed against each other on Isaiah’s thick pillows.

Which meant it jostled them all when Matt gagged again, pressing his face against Isaiah's shoulder while trying to ride out the wave.

Seline reached over with a sigh, using the cold towel meant for Matt to dab at his cheeks and chin. Maybe the coldness would help with the nausea.

Isaiah had an arm around Matthew's shoulders and the other around her. He slid lower under their weights, giving her space to reach the other wolf.

She felt more than saw him turning into her lap and nuzzling his face against her stomach...when he suddenly jerked up and away.

"Hmm? What's wrong?"

Isaiah blinked at her, something like his normal expression bleeding in with horrification. "What-what is that smell?"

"Smell?" Seline sniffed at her arm. They were sick, so she didn't exactly shower in the last three days, but that was just rude. "Whatever do you mean?"

Isaiah slid away from her, looking at Matthew. "You didn't catch that?"

Matthew's eyebrows furrowed in a thick line, but the way he paled and then greened suggested a lack of concentration.

"Oh," Seline sighed, realising what it meant. "Someone carried me up the stairs on his back. Is that it?"

Isaiah's eyes were blown open almost comically. "Why would someone—carried—did you say carried...?"

Seline leaned back against the now free pillows, raising an eyebrow. "Yes. I couldn't open the front door when a new neighbour found me and helped me up. What's the big deal?" That was truly the least of their concerns.

Isaiah looked at her utterly stunned, before turning to Matthew. "And you let her go alone in that condition? Someone could have kidnapped her!"

Seline rolled her eyes at Matt's guilty expression. "Oh please. No one was kidnapping me. Truly, it was super helpful. Like an angel came down from a poster and got me home."

Isaiah splattered for air. "An-angel? What-what-..." He trailed off into a cough that rattled his chest, flopping back against the backrest and against Matthew.

Seline giggled. "Oh my god, Isaiah. It was nothing, just a friendly guy helping out. It's not like I couldn't scream inside our apartment filled with people in the middle of the day or freeze a step under his leg if I felt threatened."

"B-But...you smell like an another guy," Isaiah said in a small petulant voice.

Seline had never seen him so childish. Was that the fever? She blinked her eyelashes at him. "So what? Now you don't like me anymore?"

Isaiah scoffed at that, offended. He took a deep breath, then returned back to the pillows, shaking her off them. "Give me that."

"Hey! No fair-"

Before she could finish the sentence, Isaiah took her spot, but wrapped her in his arms and against his chest. Tightly.

"Uhmmm...?"

"There. Problem solved," he said, his chin on top of her head.

Seline held very still, surprised. He was so...territorial.

"I can't believe you just let her out of your sight like that in her condition," Isaiah said above her. A sudden weight joined up on her side, where Matthew leaned against Isaiah's side blindly.

".....yeah, my fault." The red-haired wolf didn't sound very coherent. Seline would have to ask him about it later. Was this a normal wolf behavior or was this...an Isaiah thing?

In any case, it was new. Seline thought they were only sensitive about other wolves.

Being cocooned in Isaiah's arms, Matthew draped over them while they all shared a blanket...wasn't a bad feeling though. Not at all.

there's just something so inherently poetic and romantic about zoro's devotion to luffy during all of wano that makes me go completely insane.

he sees luffy for the first time in like a week, which might not seem much but for them, who are used to feeling each other's presence all the time and did not have a good experience with being separated, it's torture to not be together. so of course they go all happy, kicking their feet and blushing when they reunite. then his captain is like "hey, this is tama. tama is our friend now" and zoro takes it extremely seriously and protects that random kid he has no connection to because luffy says so and, well, because she's just a kid and everything, but still i think zoro instantly accepting to adopt tama is really cute.

zoro acts like luffy's enabler during this arc, because his captain might do the most impulsive and reckless shit, and the dude will support him to death. even when he's just competing against kid and law to see who's stronger (or the dumbest), luffy is the most serious he's ever been here. of course, zoro has some moments of "okay, gotta stop this idiot" but it turns out zoro is fucking stupid too, and getting into a fight in the middle of a party while you look for your captain is just,,, so them.

and all of this is just silly moments that make you think "oh, okay, zoro is whipped, yes. we already knew that". but then he pulls the most romantic and poetic things we've ever witnessed in anime history and honestly, i fucking lose it every time he does things like this.

drake goes to them and asks if he can be on their side (btw dude could have just told luffy he knew koby somehow but okay) and zoro instantly goes 'protective first mate' mode and says "haha no the fuck you're not. disloyal people are the worst and you'll always be like that. once you betray someone there's no going back" which is something i love about zoro because, even if from his perspective drake was actually a member of kaido's crew and they're supposed to be the bad guys, zoro respects loyalty so fucking much that he doesn't care whose side are you on as long as you have your priorities and beliefs on the right place. i find that beautiful, especially knowing what comes next.

zoro is gifted a sword that theoretically could cut hell, to then being then perceived as the king of hell for the same reason, and then actually going to the battlefield and referring to it as hell itself because they're fighting to death against two emperors and saying "if you're sending our captain to hell, you'll have to take me with him" because he would quite literally go to hell for luffy. and then the guy goes and tells law "hey, this is going to hurt like a bitch and i might probably die. if that happens, you know, just take care of the rest because luffy trusts you too" and he goes and awakens his conqueror's haki without even meaning to and not even giving a single fuck when kaido tells him because his only ambition and will at the moment is protecting luffy and fighting for him. that, and also the countless times he saves luffy without hesitation during this fight, which are too much to remember but i swear every time he gets in between one of kaido's attacks and luffy, my heart does a backflip and i die. and also, the gentleness in which zoro treats luffy when he can't fight. the way he protects him when luffy puts all of his undying trust on zoro. they make me go wild.

the fact that luffy is constantly saying in this fight (and always, of course) that he's going to be the pirate king and showing it clearly with all of his parallelisms to roger, and then zoro pulling things that make him quite obviously the king of hell, just makes the whole "captain and first mate" thing seem so little for what they actually are. because we have 3 different couples of this kind in this story, and nobody compares to these two, because they're not just a captain and his first mate, they're literally kings. and i haven't watched more (i'm on episode 1030 if you're curious, uta time!) but i'm so excited to see how this develops. especially knowing the religious undertones behind whatever the fuck gear fifth is supposed to be (except for a lil cute and powerful af looney tune).

Moments from "Once Upon a Studio" that I adored

Mickey kindly offered Oswald to take first place in the group photo, telling him "After you!". Oswald happily thanked him by tipping his head to him.

That entire ending was perfect. I love how the "When You Wish Upon a Star" number began with Alan-a-Dale strumming his lute on top of the building, and then Scat Cat, Mirabel, and Junior join in before the singing begins. The build-up to Jiminy Cricket was great.

Belle and Beast singing together! In the original film, they had separate verses in "Something There" so it was nice that they shared a small duet. Paige O'Hara and Robby Benson did a great job!

Quasimodo singing! I'm glad to hear Tom Hulce in the role of Quasi again. James Baxter did a terrific job animating him once again.

Scuttle interrupts Ariel's verse only for Baloo to shut him up and share a sweet bonding moment with Mowgli.

There's something incredibly poetic about Snow White holding hands with Mulan and Asha as they sing together. Disney Studios owes a lot of its success to its princess characters, and it was cool to see three generations of female protagonists (the original, the Renaissance era in the 1990s, and the most recent era).

Winnie the Pooh's presence in general. I love how Christopher Robin and the others have to help him out of the picture frame, recreating the rabbit hole scene. Also, Pooh singing "Fate steps in, and sees you through" at the end and Tigger pouncing on him really got to me.

Cinderella and Prince Charming going down the stairs and Charming loses his shoe. The role reversal was cute enough, but after snatches the shoe, they go into silly mode with Prince Charming shouting "Eric, get your dog!" and Cinderella enabling the situation by saying "Go, Max, go!" It's incredibly endearing to see Prince Charming have a sense of humor and Cinderella happily going along with the shenanigans.

Antonio with the other animal characters and telling Joanna not to eat Jacques and Gus. Pluto coming in to save the mice was nice too.

Incorporating the archival audio from Robin Williams's recording as Genie.

The fifteen puppies watching the "Night on Bald Mountain" segment from Fantasia and Chernabog pops out of the screen. I also noted the various "Art of" books of their feature films on the cabinet surrounding the television.

Hearing Nathan Lane as Timon again and calling Olaf "Frosty".

Robin Hood and Little John snatching Scrooge McDuck's money bags and reveling in their victory. Oo-de-lolly!

The Wreck-It Ralph cameos! Vanellope on her race car, Ralph calling Mickey "Garfield" and Fix-It Felix fixing Goofy's camera. All in character and perfect.

Mickey's gang having their time in the spotlight. Donald trying to go down a crowded elevator, Goofy working as the photographer (may or may not be a subtle nod to his occupation in A Goofy Movie), and even Clarabelle has a moment.

It was nice seeing some representation for their shorts (Ben and Me, Johnny Appleseed) and their overlooked films (The Black Cauldron, Home on the Range, Chicken Little, and Dinosaur). Even if they didn't have any dialogue, their presence alone certainly counts.

Highlighting the artists that contributed to the studio. Burny Mattinson's cameo at the beginning was nice, and though Walt Disney himself was very much a complicated person (staunchly anti-union being one of them), the moment of Mickey staring at his portrait was genuine enough (Mickey says a simple "thanks" before he joins the rest of the characters). The framed photographs of various artists throughout the halls was also nice (I'm sure the actual building has those framed pictures of their former employees). I would have been a lot more critical of the short if many of the presence of the other artists weren't felt in the studio.

Overall, it was a great short! It was a beautiful love letter to the animation studio and its characters. I'm glad that they didn't incorporate any Pixar stuff and even flaunt their acquired assets (Star Wars, Marvel, etc.). It was just about celebrating their original animated works and the large catalog of characters. The animation was also fantastic and it was cool seeing the 2-D characters interact with the CG characters in a way that felt natural. I greatly appreciate the effort and love that was put into the short.

I've seen your hypnoshades callie stuff alot on my feed, and I just kinda had a question for ya.

if the hypnoshades were, indeed, a metaphor for drug abuse by celebrities...would that not make Octavio an enabler, as he allowed Callie to utilise the hypnoshades (and most likely aided in the creation of them) ??

(this does not make Octavio a totally irredeemable bad person, at least not in my opinion. Perhaps it's the only way he knows that he can help Callie, maybe . It's just something that I've noticed that's never really been brought up in the other stuff that you've written).

Okay.... here's the thing about the hypnoshades. it's pretty obvious that Splatoon 2 in someway was rushed and that includes the story mode. It came out 2 years after Splatoon 1 and it launched with not a lot of content. Unlike something like Octo Expansion or ROTM where there is lots of explanations on things and how things work, in Splatoon 2 there isn't that and it's incredibly rushed. We don't fully know the circumstances of what happened to Callie and how Octavio gave her the shades, all we know is that Callie was like "ok fine I'll hear you out" and joined the Octarians cause of reasons I've said a trillion times lmao.

Octavio for sure did some bad shit let's not kid ourselves. He is the antagonist and he's not gonna be all sunshine and rainbows. In some way yeah he enabled Callie to use the shades and therefore she ended up getting addicted to them. Her rematch dialogue in other languages shows that Callie is attached to the shades and is a bad coping mechanism for her because well... She's still doing the acting gig and it's still hurting her.

Heck even Marie in the Russian translation says "why are you so attached to those stupid glasses? Callie, those glasses are only getting in your way!"

However this addiction is actually kinda treated like a joke and makes Callie seem more like an idiot and that.... pisses me the fuck off to no end. I get that Splatoon is silly but this is just near character assassination to me tbh.... Especially how the community treated her in that time.... But i digress.

I still don't think that Octavio is some vile monster that abused Callie in some way shape or form. He treated her as best as he could in that scenario, he didn't restrain her, he didn't force her into anything. He let her decorate bases and do other things because it helped boost the morale of the Octarians, hell the Octarians got inspired by her and made music with her vocals and stuff like that.

I truly believe that the hypnoshades are just that, hypnosis shades. Octavio probably made them for Callie so that she's less likely to just suddenly run off, which is still fucking bad mind you. Callie was willing to stay and yet Octavio was like "just in case....." But here's the thing also, hypnosis isn't mind control and you can't brainwash people with them. The term "brainwashing" is only found in the English translation of the Japanese script and so far we don't have retranslation of the original script and I'm not gonna fully trust the English translation. As a Sonic the Hedgehog fan, i know that some English translations can fuck up important details and completely change the tone of the story so easily lol.

Octavio is more of a caring person than he is not. He has been shown that he does care for troops but he's just a little bossy towards them and he has to be because his race is on the brink of collapse. He has to make these quick and bad decisions to save his people. When his people got kidnapped by Mr. Grizz, he immediately went looking for them and wanted to get revenge. And when he finds out Mr. Grizz did it, he drops his hatred for the New Squidbeak Splatoon and helps them out. His people are his top priority.

Hell if you want the ultimate proof that Octavio isn't the worst person in the world, Callie went with him to the Low Water Party after Octo Expansion, Octavio would not bring a hypnotized Callie that was missing during the events of Splatoon 2 to a fucking rave party, everyone would get his ass lol. So yeah, a Callie not under the influence of any shades went "yeah I'll rave with you!!!!"

She even smiled when Octavio came down to rescue Neo Agent 3 when everyone else was shocked, if that doesn't scream that they are good terms then i don't know what will.

Sorry if this seemed very rambly, when people talk about Hypno/ Octo Callie in any form i lock THE FUCK IN lol!

The other day I was listening to this song on speakers, and this is a song that touches me deep, but right now I'm listening to it in my headphones and like… SHIT! It feels like he's singing it just to me. His voice echoing in my brain is like the best sound I've ever heard.

I specially recommend you to listen to his early career songs (Sun Records era) and the takes from recording sessions from all his career (50s, 60s and 70s) with headphones, if you enjoy a more intimate experience with Elvis' songs.

I just remembered @cherrycolaride mentioned "Are You Sincere" as an awesome song to listen to with headphones in her blog, a few days ago. I knew the song already, and how I'm used to listen to Elvis' songs with headphones I knew how much this one is intense. So I just had to listen to it again now... thanks for that, dear. ♥ — (gosh, you can hear the wet sounds of his mouth moving!!! that's intense... that's what we're talking about).

That's why the takes from recording sessions are also indescribably amazing to listen with headphones on, because there's the music and there's also Elvis speaking, laughing, just being silly (many times naughty too) inside the recording studios - all of that right into your ears is like having a taste of being in his presence. Oh, fan tip: For those moments you really want to feel Elvis' voice as intimate as possible, enable stereo mode. It creates a more realistic and immersive listening experience. The isolated sound channels really can give you an even more up-close sensation to the music (that's how I feel). I feel like I'm in a rehearsal, inside a room, sitting next to Elvis. Gil is busy dissociating/trying not to implode under the anxiety of Being Perceived By Senpais and Francois is very taken with this cute new kingdom who dresses himself up as a soldier and pretends that he doesn't notice the attention. Karl is shooting Francois glares the entire time because his brother has always coveted his vassals and now this one is officially a kingdom outside his imperial dominion Francois is apparently taking that as an open invitation to make himself known, very possibly in the biblical sense--

He's also glaring in mute horror at Francois wig. Francis is sly and almost draped over Gilbert's (Karl was somewhat begrudgingly forced to actually remember his name after he became a fully fledged kingdom in his own right) shoulder and toying with that long queue. Gilbert is apparently dead-set on ignoring the simmering tension between the brothers. If he doesn't move or play along then the predators might lose interest and not maul him.

But, but. Is there not a part of him that... Desires the attention, and recognition? Out of the corner of his eye he can see the way Karl bristles and Francois' leering grin. He can recognise a battle when he sees one and it brings him a sick little joy to enable it with passivity.

Even if he does find the 'cat ears' woven into Francois' wig... More than a little ridiculous.

Hello fellow tumblrinas of all genders or lack thereof, unless I messed something up with the post scheduling today is the third of june.

It is not often that I make serious posts myself, if something is serious and important I usually don't have the necessary know-how nor the time to make my own posts and just reblog posts about those topics, like recently the palestinian genocide or the fact that deserts shouldn't be turned into green forests or lawns, or anything to do with USanian politics. Some of you may have seen one or two of my posts about german politics such as the new Selbstbestimmungsgesetz that will allow trans people like me to change their legal name and gender without a million gates to get past first.

All this to say, this post is not about the most important thing in the world, but it is about something I know about and that is important to me.

About sixteen, soon seventeen years ago, VALVe released a class-based team shooter with a cartoony style that they not much later made free to play. Anyone, so long as they have a steam account, can download this game named Team Fortress 2, and start playing. In it, you can buy clothes, weapon skins, weapon sidegrades and silly dances for real money, and making any purchase enables voice chat and normal chat as well as fundamental game mechanics like calling for a medic. The nine classes are interesting to play and play against, and along with the unlockable sidegrade weapons this game provides lots of variety when it comes to play styles.

But in its current state I can't recommend you to try it.

There are two(ish) ways to play the main game modes:

Casual matchmaking, which is free, the option at the top of the menu and managed by VALVe on their game servers as well as "protected by VAC"

(competitive matchmaking, which if I recall correctly costs money and is mainly people who are pretty good at the game and not those playing for the first time)

Community servers, which are further down the list of ways to play and only accessible through a very unintuitive community server browser, they are usually moderated by real human moderators using a functional anti cheat

(there's also "Training" but it's not against other real players and tbh sucks)

If you start up the game you're most definitely going to start queueing into a casual match, let's say Capture the Flag, because it's on top of the list of gamemodes, but it doesn't really matter what game mode you choose.

And maybe half the time you're going to join a Double Cross match full of other players from all over the world, containing queer people, actual racists, trolls, and one or two people only typing in Cyrillic. These games are fun, you'll learn stuff about the game, about the classes, about how annoying snipers and spies can be, about how much fun it is to airblast an enemy into the abyss, about good spots to put a sentry and about bad spots to do so.

The rest of the time you will join a 2fort match where most people are named something like ESCAPETHEMATRIX, and you will learn about how free to play players can still hear their distorted voice chat music on loop, about how it feels to get headshot by a slow moving sniper who doesn't even look at you every time you leave spawn, about getting vote kicked by five bots and not being able to do anything about it.

Sometimes you're lucky. Sometimes the real players outnumber the bots and you can vote them out one by one.

But until that is done, unless that is done, the game is unplayable.

There are many problems with TF2. Two years ago, during the first #SAVETF2 event a lot of those problems were voiced. But that was part of the reason that attempt failed. There was too much focus on updates lacking content, weapon balance being less than perfect in some places, free to plays not being able to use core features of the game, so that most important problem, the bot crisis, hasn't been in focus enough. It's okay that the game is not getting update-sized updates like Minecraft or Fortnite are. It's okay that some unlockable weapons are pretty much always better than stock. Those are imperfections, but they don't make the game unplayable. Maybe the problem started with the name.

That's the name this time. And it's true, TF2 doesn't need saving, it's already broken. We demand that VALVe fix the biggest issue with TF2.

We want a functional anti cheat.

VAC aka VALVe Anti Cheat is supposed to prevent cheaters and bots from ruining the game. It has not done that for many years, and is, according to people with more technical knowledge than me, merely a suggestion, and not a real anti cheat software. Community servers have found ways to eliminate cheating and bots entirely in their games, without the funding of a billions-of-dollars company that makes a lot of money off of TF2.

Creators like Megascatterbomb have made efforts against the bot problem, compiling lists of bot accounts and publishing them, and while VALVe profits off the bot hosters, these bot hosters have harassed, doxxed and even framed him at local authorities for domestic terrorism. This man wanted to help keep his favorite game playable and instead he got investigated by the police for allegedly planning to bomb a university.

How do I know that VALVe profits off of those bot hosters? Well the bots use voice and text chat, meaning they have to have made a purchase for each account.

Some of you reading this might already know about all of this, some of you might have made your own post today, but others may not even know TF2 exists or thought the problems got solved two years ago because VALVe made one (1) twitter post.

The petition will be delivered to VALVe HQ along with the tens, possibly even hundreds of thousands of names belonging to people who signed.
