Hi!
I really love your theories and analysis. I appreciate how diligent you are with your wording and how much effort you put by translating them both in English and Spanish( I think?).
I have couple of questions if you wish to indulge me:
1. How would Adler behave around a Bell who is the carbon copy of Perseus( attitude wise) if Bell had such liberty?
2. What if he found out Bell was Perseus' blood child?
3. What type of person would be the perfect lover for a man like Adler?
4. What type of foods will Adler like? He doesn't seem to be the type to be acclimatise to homecooking.
5. Do you think he has any preconceptions in regards to women or any other minorities?
Thank you for your time!💖
Oh first, thank you very much, yes. I like to write in both languages, I speak both English and Spanish mostly. Also, the more people can understand what I write, the better (although I try not to lose the meaning of what I write in translations). Now let's go step by step:
1- About the first question, I didn’t fully understand what you meant (you can clarify, and I’ll respond better), but based on what I understood (that it’s about whether Bell could be the closest in attitude and personality to Perseus but younger), I think if Adler realized that, it would only give him more power to subject Bell to torture until he extracted all the necessary information, whether through MK-Ultra, negative priming, subliminal messages, or whatever was necessary. He’d use the CIA and leverage the 80s to make Bell more malleable to his will.
If there were any hint of Bell trying to break free from Adler’s conditioning, implanted memories, etc., Russell would definitely suppress it. The last thing Adler wants is for an asset to have freedom. As we see in Cold War, even though Bell eventually regains their memories, Adler kills them because they become a walking danger. What’s certain is that Russ would never give Bell freedom, as I don’t think he ever saw Bell as a person—just a disposable asset like so many others, only this one was valuable for longer.
2- Honestly, here I think things change a bit, because if Bell had been Perseus’s direct son, the treatment would likely have been different. I won’t ask how the team would’ve figured it out, but let’s say they knew and confirmed it through DNA tests, documents, dates, or something. Being, in this case, even more valuable, I think they would’ve tried more mental and psychological tactics before resorting to physical torture and subjugation. Maybe they could’ve even used him as a hostage for negotiation in extreme cases—if that even mattered to Perseus (which I doubt, but I don’t entirely rule it out). I think Adler would’ve manipulated him more subtly, knowing that with intelligence, Bell would cooperate more if, through a mix of lies and truth, they made him believe he should help them for the greater good, that his father is insane, or similar reasons.
Appealing to an individual’s own will and making them believe they’re part of a greater cause yields better results than forcing someone against their will to perform acts they don’t want to do. Whether or not MK-Ultra or other methods are involved. I don’t know, I can imagine Adler playing the role of being more protective and less distant with Bell, maybe Park and Sims too, along with other team members. Protecting Bell more, knowing that if he was a valuable asset before, now he’d be invaluable.
3- Short answer: Me, lol. Jokes aside, I might be guilty of using myself as a reference here, but definitely not just any woman is for Adler—I think we all agree on that. First, I’d say that at 54, age is probably the last thing he’d care about. Whether you’re 20, 30, 40, or whatever age (as long as you’re an adult), I don’t see him caring much. What he would care about is how intelligent you are, whether you can keep up with his pace and lifestyle, because he’s going to expect you to adapt to his life, not the other way around, since he’s a workaholic. I’ve known men similar to Adler—I can even compare him to my dad in many ways, like both being ENTJs—and I can definitely tell you it’s a very complicated personality type in the MBTI. Luckily, I’m an INTJ, and over the years, I’ve learned to understand this type of personality. Someone like Adler wouldn’t want someone incompetent, dependent, or inept by his side. He doesn’t want someone who becomes a burden or someone he constantly has to protect. Adler would want a lover who energizes him, someone who fills him with energy, especially now that age might be weighing on him. He’d also want a girl who isn’t submissive, who doesn’t say yes to everything, who challenges him but also lets herself be dominated.
Adler’s personality is one that solves problems before they start. He won’t order for you at a restaurant, but he’s someone who’ll make decisions for you, believing he knows what’s best for you, often without telling you. So it’ll be a constant push and pull, which can be exhausting for many. Adler isn’t someone who’ll make unnecessary scenes, so he’ll look for someone who doesn’t create drama or scenes. No one insecure or immature. She’d have to be independent, maybe even a loner like him, since she’d need her own life because Adler hardly spends any time at home. He’d probably want a lover willing to learn, especially if you’re much younger than him or your job isn’t being a CIA black ops agent. I know he’d love it if his lover asked him to teach them things like shooting and reloading a gun, boxing, self-defense, and even if you went for a drive, he’d probably explain how to evade a car during a chase—that would be his way of saying “I love you.” The girl would have to be very perceptive because Adler won’t say “I love you,” but you’ll see it in how he cares for you—gifts, advice, shared activities, maybe even related to his work, etc. He’s more demonstrative, so he’d value a girl who doesn’t constantly ask him to say how much he loves her.
That’s why, within the MBTI, one of the best compatibilities is ENTJ and INTJ. They’re basically the same, but Adler being extroverted (ENTJ) and me, for example, being introverted (INTJ), makes it so that in social situations where I don’t feel like interacting, Adler would take over the conversation without me having to say anything, which complements me by taking a weight off my shoulders. But I understand that many people might not like this, and that’s understandable. Especially in the long term, I wonder if someone who meets all the characteristics I mentioned would still stay with someone like Adler.
Being so intelligent, you’d have to ask yourself if you want to be with someone as dangerous and unstable as him, given his life, work, and emotional scars, or if you’d prefer someone more stable and reliable than Adler, since it’s very likely he’d be distrustful even with his lover or worry that something might happen to them because of him. He’d care deeply about his lover’s safety and self-confidence above all else. It’s a bit long, but I wanted to expand as much as I could (and even then, I know I’ve missed things).
As you can see, this point is very extensive because Adler is complex, and a profile like his requires it.
4- Adler is obviously not used to home-cooked meals due to the nature of his work and being a workaholic. But I know that if you cook something homemade for him, you’ll melt his icy heart, hehe. Most likely, he’s too used to ordering takeout, eating whatever’s on the go, and if by some miracle he has at least three days at home and DECIDES to cook, it’d probably be simple but nutritious dishes: steak with potatoes, vegetables with meat, I don’t know, but I get the feeling he’d carefully evaluate what he’s consuming nutritionally when he can, especially at his age and to stay in shape.
So I think if you cook him something like a broth, he’d love it. That’s why, in Zombies mode, when he drinks the Quick Revive perk and says, “MMM!! Tastes like broth!” (at least in Spanish), I think it’s because it reminds him of a more homemade dish. So cook him something homemade, whatever it is, and this man will devour it!!! Russ just wants a decent meal that tastes like home and is made with love!! As for specific dishes, I doubt he has any favorites—maybe burgers or pizza, though I can’t think of any traditional dish his mother might’ve cooked for him in his childhood. Sorry, I didn’t grow up in the 40s in San Diego, and if you ask him, he might give you a vague answer. What I notice in common with the Call of Duty guys is that they’d eat anything. They’re used to it, always being in some warzone.
5- Look, considering women make up half the world’s population, I wouldn’t define myself as a minority. This is murky territory, but if you’ve seen my other posts, you’ll know I suspect Adler has a complicated relationship with women. Beyond what one might expect given the era he was born in, I attribute it more to factors like his own personality and character. Remember, he’s an ENTJ—a VERY demanding and even overwhelming personality, combined with his ego. This already makes him hard to deal with for other men, but with women, I feel it’s even worse. Take his divorce, his relationship with Sevati (who knows she’s there because Adler pays well), and even in both Cold War and Black Ops 6, Park always keeps her distance from Adler, never going beyond a purely professional relationship. Even when Adler jokingly says, “Don’t you trust me, Park?” she replies that she trusts him as much as necessary but that he shouldn’t be surprised since he already knew that. Park and Adler respect each other professionally, but she points out that she’s worked with more pleasant people.
Adler holds women in high regard and doesn’t discriminate against them in the strict sense of the word—meaning he doesn’t separate or treat them differently from men. I just think he struggles to understand them, or it’s the emotional scars from his divorce, since we don’t have more information about his youth. We don’t have any hints of a girlfriend in his youth in the 50s, for example, that might indicate whether he already had trouble connecting with them, nor do we know about his relationship with his mother. So I choose to believe it’s just emotional scars from his life, divorce, and other factors we don’t know about.
If by minorities you also mean, for example, Black or Asian people (who still aren’t minorities given the populations of countries like China, India, or African nations compared to countries like Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Hungary, Poland, etc.), we also don’t see Adler being racist or anything like that, especially given his great friendship with Sims or even Weaver or Dimitri Belikov, who are Soviets. The man clearly doesn’t discriminate against anyone, whether by nationality or appearance. He values people for who they are, and I love that about him. We don’t see him having prejudices against anyone. And if by minorities you mean LGBTQ+, while we don’t see it directly in the game, I’d say, based on what I mentioned earlier, the guy wouldn’t care who you sleep with. If you’re a great professional and person, he’ll respect you, and that’s it. But if you’re incompetent, inept, and useless, he’ll hate you for that without adding any adjectives. Adler is a man of the Silent Generation, an American with, I estimate, German ancestry, a great patriot who definitely loves his country and will give his best to save millions of innocents at any cost, even if people don’t know about his actions. That’s why he wouldn’t hesitate to ally with anyone as long as they share the same goals or at least some common ground.
And yes, in case it wasn’t clear in all this, given his age, era, context, and everything else, he’s clearly the typical American man—white, heterosexual, conservative—and yet he still manages to charm and surprise us with his craziness and experiences. I love him, hehe. (I want to marry Adler).
I hope I’ve cleared up your doubts, and you know, you can ask me anything (especially about the first question if I didn’t interpret it correctly. My apologies for that). I hope you have a beautiful day. <3 Sorry for not answering you sooner, the power was out for over 5 hours so I couldn't reply :( Extra clarification: I write all of this with the utmost respect for all people and I do not intend to offend or mess with anyone.

Sabe a caldo!”

Part 1: The Timeline of The Sims
Welcome to the first entry of The Sims Mysteries! I’ve been wanting to give my take of the story of The Sims for a while, and to start a conversation with other Simmers about what their theories are for the countless lore debates that are out there. First though, here’s some context:
There’s a Sims movie in production! Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap, has started work on one, which we heard about last week. I’m super excited! However it turns out, I’ve always wanted to see a live action Sims movie, and I personally have high hopes for it. So far we know the movie is not going to be largely based on the game lore, but now’s as good a time as any to give my two cents on the various inconsistencies in The Sims canon.
As with Barbie, I can imagine the movie will deviate somewhat from what the fans consider canon and will not actually focus on lore at all, but on the simulation aspect of The Sims just as how Barbie focused on the dissonance between the real world and Barbieland. Today, I’m going to start with the topic I feel most strongly about: the timeline order of The Sims. If you take away one thing from this post, let it be that the story of The Sims does not take place in alternate universes or timelines. Take a look under the cut to read my explanation!
When The Sims 4 came out, the alternate universe theory was used as the main explanation for inconsistencies in the lore, specifically regarding sims’ ages. For some reason, this explanation was set in stone as canon without question. A lot of the confusion surrounding the timeline arose due to the assumption that The Sims 4 would take place after The Sims 2; at that point the latest established point on the timeline. Also, there seems to be a figure that’s cited often whenever simmers refer to the timeline; that there are two 25 year time jumps between The Sims 3, The Sims, and The Sims 2. I haven’t been able to find a source for this fact, though. If you know where it’s from, please send a link my way! I presume that it’s not as canonical as it’s considered to be, and in any case it’s a very rigid timescale which is incompatible with the stories of most if not all sims.
I want to recognize the fact that I think The Sims 4 has started taking its lore more seriously. The story of Robert Crumplebottom turned Roberto Crinkletop shown in a promotional video for Horse Ranch is exactly the kind of small scale but significant lore that I personally love! It truly gave me an impression that the developers care about the stories of our favourite sims. Just because The Sims 4 base game is not a neat addition to the canon we all know and love, that does not mean we should resort to the alternate universe explanation. Personally, I see alternate universe explanations of lore as lazy and messy world building, at least if a story doesn’t start out with a theme of alternate universes in the first place. It just seems like a sign that the developers or writers between different entries in a franchise were not in sync with each other or didn’t care enough about the story as long as the same characters were used. In any case, it’s more challenging, and in my opinion more interesting, to put together a unified story from a franchise that is on the brink of being explained away as a multiverse.
In a sentence, since the developers didn’t give us a clean slice of lore, it’s up to us simmers to put the story together. As you may know, this is the current most popular theory of the chronological order between the mainline Sims games based on lore:
The Sims 3
The Sims
The Sims 2
(The Sims 4 outside of the timeline, in an alternate universe)
Here is what I think the timeline should be:
The Sims 3
The Sims
The Sims 4
The Sims 2
The Sims 5?
So yes, all Sims games (including all spin-offs) are in the same canon and timeline in my eyes. The confusion comes from multiple inconsistencies introduced in The Sims 4, but as I said the main factor is the age of sims.
Originally, the main reason I was going to give for the inconsistencies in age was the Elixir of Life. We know that the Elixir of Life is an item in The Sims 2 which has the ability to prolong a Sim’s life in their current life stage, thought to be invented by Mortimer Goth. When it comes to aging inconsistencies, I think this makes for a much more elegant resolution than branching off a whole alternate universe. Anti-aging potions might not seem like a good solution for realism-oriented simmers, but at the end of the day something like an Elixir of Life is exactly in tune with the unique magical realism of The Sims.
All that considered, though, when looking at some of the staple households which appear in multiple games, there actually isn’t any aging conflict. That is, in the chronological order of games that I propose, the age of said sims progresses linearly. The issue might arise when trying to define the exact number of years passing between The Sims games, however considering that there could be different lengths of time between different entries in the franchise, it should be relatively straightforward to figure out when comparing sims’ ages against each other.
To convince you that the multiverse explanation of The Sims canon is unnecessary, I’m going to address the main reasons given in the ‘Alternate universe’ article on The Sims Wiki. Thank you to the person or people who wrote it by the way! Insofar as explaining the alternate universe it makes sense but I’m just using it as a jumping off point to explain my perspective. In the below table, the first two columns contain the conflicts in quotation marks as they appear on The Sims Wiki, while the third leftmost column is the reasons I have for the differences in the lore:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My main wish for the lore of Project Rene, or the current development of The Sims 5, is for it to be set after The Sims 2. This way, we start a new entry in the franchise with a clean slate and no confusion about the timeline. A big mistake The Sims 4 made is being afraid to show how life has gone by for our favorite sims, which just made confusion in the storyline. In fact, SimGuru Sarah said herself that it was the most flexible way to keep the most recognizable sims in the newest game. However, this made the story of The Sims 4, at least in the base game, seem stagnant. Let some of our favorite senior sims die from old age! Let our younger sims grow up and start families! Let Bella Goth grow old!
At the end of the day, we don’t need to rehash Bella’s, or anyone else’s, young adult life with new places and people, and it would be much more interesting to see how she is as an older woman, while her family matures and grows. That is, if Bella is in The Sims 5 at all! Thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts! For upcoming posts, here are some ideas I want to tackle (see the table for the mention of the topics below):
MySims in The Sims
With some of our favorite adorable MySims bridging the gap to the mainline franchise, how can we abridge their stories? What problems came up in their move to The Sims?
The Nighat Caliente vs Katrina Caliente Conflict
Both moms to our favorite sisters, Dina and Nina, but who is the real deal? Are they both?
The Timespan of The Sims
Have the games given us enough clues about the lengths of time that pass between the games? Can we use this to figure out the exact ages of sims or vice versa?
Too Many Malcolms
With enough Malcolm Landgraabs to go around, how can we tell who’s who? Which Malcolms are the same person, and which are relatives?
The Disappearance of Bella Goth
The age old debate: what happened to our Bella after that fateful night in Pleasantview? How much do we really know?
Agnes and Mrs. Crumplebottom
You’d be forgiven for mistaking the two, so how do we know they’re different? Is there a larger lineage of prude Crumplebottoms?
The Setting of The Sims
Do The Sims games take place in SimNation, or across the world on an alternate Earth? How does this Earth differ from ours?
The Teleportation of Don Lothario
When the time came for Don to reap the consequences for his streak of heartbreak, what did the women he scorned decide to do with him? How did Don end up in Riverview?
The Time Travel of Alexander Goth
One Alexander Goth is credited for writing A Murder in Pleasantview, but how did he write the book when his parents were still children? Did young Alex try to save his mom by trying to undo what was already done?
The Identity of Lolita Goth
Who was the mysterious bachelorette buried in the graveyard of Goth Manor? Was there an unspoken affair between her and Gunther?

Story Process Tag~
The challenge: show a certain part of your story process based on you being tagged by other creators!!!
I am very boring, but I will share my very simple process if you’d like to see. I was tagged by @queenofvraquin and @poetic-falls. Thank you both! Below the cut ~
1. Your writing process - show us a part of your script or explain how you write your scenes. Do you write in screenplay format or novel format? Etc, etc.
Hahahaha. No. I literally write it as I queue it. For DPR that’s in the script format. I plan ahead in my brain and hope when it comes time for that to happen that I don’t forget. NSB is mostly gameplay with loose plot so no real planning there anyway. I do plan out things scene by scene. I know where I want the story to go in the long run, but dialogue and scenes that add up to the big ones are usually fun surprises along the way.
2. Scene building - show us you in the middle of scene building through pictures, gifs, or a video. Explain what is the best thing about scene building and what is the worst!
I cannot build at all. I can barely decorate. I pull houses from the game or the gallery and redecorate as much as I can. I personally like using things that sims can earn/make from the game to decorate like paintings, knitting projects, and collectibles. Recently I learned how to add in photos as in game photos so I have been enjoying decking out the NSB house in those.
Tumblr media
3. CC/Pose Making - do you make your own cc/poses for your scene? If so, what is your process like to create? Do you just go off the top of your head? Do you use reference photos?
I do make my own poses but I try my absolute best to find something else first. I only resort to making my own if I have a very specific idea in mind or if I cannot find what I need. I usually try to make those into larger packs because I figure if I need them, then someone else will too.
Tumblr media
Pose making does take a lot out on me tho so if I can’t find someone else who has made them I usually drag my feet on the next scene I need them for. Hence why there hasn’t been any DPR content lately. As it goes.
4. Getting in the zone - What do you do to get in the zone to work on a scene? Examples include: show us your playlist you use when working on a scene, what’s your go-to scene snack/drink, etc.
I don’t need anything to get into the zone. Playing sims is my fun zone. Loading up the game and posing them and queuing is what I like about all of it. I usually do it while I am in the living room with my roommates and we’re all watching a movie or something together. If I am not in the mood to play sims, then I just don’t.
5. Screenshot folder - give us a look into your screenshot folder to show us just how much goes into ONE scene for your story. (Scrapped pictures encouraged!!!)
I take...so many screenshots. So many... from every angle. Since I don’t plan ahead with dialogue and specific scenes, I just grab a whole bunch of photos and hope there’s something usable in there. If there’s a shot I find that I need or would prefer, I go back in game and grab it real quick.
A look at my NSB screenshot folder (I also never delete anything I am a mess don’t be like me)
Tumblr media
6. Captions - are you a caption on the picture kind of storyteller or captions in text box type of storyteller? Why? Do you do both?
I don’t do captions. I find them limited and hard to read. I did do them for one story and they were such a pain to edit and if you spell something wrong it’s much harder to go in and edit that lol, so I prefer text below myself. Easier to edit and make up on the spot. But yes, for my Frost Flower story even all that text on the photos was done in the moment of editing.
For the NSB, I do add in speech bubbles and icons sometimes when I feel things are complicated and need that. But even that has been relaxed a lot lately.
7. Editing!!!!! - explain and show us your process editing a scene through a video, gif, or picture. A Before and after will suffice if you aren’t in the middle of editing a scene as you answer this.
I do not edit at all. It’s all reshade. My only editing would be, as mentioned above, the captions on NSB pictures.
Lately I have been editing RAIA vision pictures. But those are far and few inbetween so I do not consider myself an editor at all.  Here is a gif to tell the difference. Click for HQ:
Tumblr media
8. Throwback - show us an ANCIENT story scene you done in the past and explain how you would do the scene differently today!
Oh gosh...I would redo almost everything I post as soon as I post it. The beginning of Destined needs better set building. My NSB DID have a reboot because I was unsatisfied with the direction it went in. You can compare how the RoboCat came to be here:
OLD: [X] New: [X]
Honestly there isn’t anything I wouldn’t redo. My DPR Gen 1 is all gameplay and my old computer graphics with no CC and reshade and it doesn’t reflect my current gameplay style at all. That’s my biggest gripe with it, but it does show how far I’ve grown so it stays and we play on.
Thanks for making it this far if you did! It’s so simple and quite plain and I am still learning and growing as we go. For now it’s all in good fun~
I tag anyone who would also like to show off their process!

Above is a drawing I did for another, currently ongoing, prompt list! This is for week one of the childhood memories 2021 prompts! I’m actually posting this one as it’s going on because I reached the character limit for the post on Instagram 😭 So I’ll go into more detail in this post under the read more!
✨✨✨✨✨
The prompt for week one was toys/games. And when I think back on some toys and games I think about my GameBoy Advance SP which I think was my first gaming system. It’s like the one in the drawing. Adorned with Pokémon stickers! 😊 I actually used mine as reference and drew the game that was in it when I grabbed it and it was Pokémon pinball: ruby and sapphire edition! And I know there’s a black boarder around the screen but I remembered it as I was finishing coloring Pokémon pinball and it was too late 😭. And I had shared games with my brother, who had his own GBA SP, but his was silver.
For the content of the picture I’ll start from the top and go counterclockwise and I’ll share my memories with the games:
✨On the top we have a little Spongebob waving. 👋[I don’t recall ever playing a GBA Spongebob game, maybe? But he’s here because I had one of those white game cards that was just videos! I think one of the videos was the bubble stand one! Because of it’s a giraffe. And I think another one may have been the one where Squidward gets into an accident or something and Spongebob and Patrick take care of him because of firmly grasp it!]
✨Then of course we have Claire from Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town. [I know it’s like now Story of Seasons, but you know, not at the time kinda thing. Anyways, my grandpa, or 公公 (gung gung) (according to google that’s how you write and spell it), got me this game as a kid and I loved it 💖 It’s a wonderful game and I love the art and stuff and caring for the cute animals, the people, the aesthetic, and almost everything about it 🥰 It’s what pulled me into the series and into farming Sims like Stardew 💕 I think I’ve played this game into the 10s of years. And I chose Grey ❤️ I’ll always treasure this game 🥰].
✨Next is a pink lightning bolt symbol ⚡️ from the evergirls game. [I don’t remember what this game was about or even know why I picked this game out. I don’t even know if I completed the game. I think there was some character customization?]
✨Then we have the girl and a dog from the Dogz GBA game. 🐕 [I only vaguely remember this game but it had cute art and I loved it. Though I think it had short gameplay 🙁 I wanted to play with my pup forever... But I think it ends after a certain amount of time? I wanna play it again. And I remember carrying the dog for a bit! And also playing the reversi mini game].
✨At the bottom is Cream the Rabbit from Sonic [I barely remember anything about the Sonic game I played. I think that it was one of my brother’s games. Like I remember her and a light blue character I think was Chao? I remember running from Dr. Eggman as he was chasing me in a flying machine and the art was nice. 😊].
✨Then we have Leaf and a Bulbasaur! 🍃 [I think that Pokémon Fire Red was the first game I had! And bulbasaur was my first ever starter 🥰 But I also remember I was playing a new file in the car and I had over-written all of my progress 💔😭. My second starter is technically charmander... And I remember battling my brother and losing a lot. But I beat one of his Pokémon with a metronome toxic once and that’s memorable between the two of us 😊 I think I still lost though lol].
✨Then we have Michelangelo (or Mikey) from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. [I think this was one of my brother’s games because I don’t recall playing much of it. I picked to draw Mikey because I recall the sewer skateboarding mini game! And I also remember that one time I got some kinda score on it and bowed and like tripped or something and hurt my lip lol].
✨To the right of Mikey we have Mega Man. [This was another one of I borrowed my brother’s game. I honestly don’t know what Mega Man game this is. Maybe Battle Network? I only really remember Roll and a cactus enemy].
✨Then we have the girl character from Mario Golf Advanced Tour. [Again a game I borrowed from my brother. And I guess the girl’s name is Ella? I just looked it up. Anyways I don’t remember progressing the story all too much. I thought it was really cute. And I drew her crying because I only remember getting bogeys lol].
✨Next to her we have a cat as a representative for Catz. [Another game borrowed from my brother. I’m sad I don’t remember much of this game, but it’s probably like Dogz where it’s short but you take care of a cat].
✨Then we have Spyro. [Probably also a game from my brother. I don’t have like any recollection of playing Spyro games at all. Like I think I played as him as he was defending something on a wooden bridge as things were getting shot at him. I don’t know. I included him anyways].
✨To his right we have my game chest which holds some of my games! I painted it myself!
✨And in the center is my red GBA SP! It’s playing Pokémon pinball (I think the Ruby level). And on it you can see that I have Cyndaquil, Chikorita, and Eevee stickers. [I loved this game so much and played it a lot but I don’t think I ever actually got to catch Jirachi 🥲].
I had other GBA games I played but might not have remembered them. Some I do vaguely remember are finding Nemo, Winnie the Pooh, SMB 3, That so Raven, Pet resort, Pokémon games, other harvest moon games, hot potato, and some kinda game that had other games like a racing one and dig dug.
Other games I played in general were like Jack and Dexter, computer games, and maybe Raymon?
✨✨✨✨✨✨
And in terms of the drawing, I’m happy with how it turned out! And I think I’m gonna do lighting like how I did with Leaf’s hair from now on! Sneaking hearts in where I can. And I have just noticed that I messed up Cream by drawing on the wrong layer 😭. But I think that the colors remained pretty much consistent from what I had on my laptop at least.
If you read all that, thank you for enjoying my art and taking a trip down memory lane with me! 💕 Have a wonderful week! 😊

@alycat919 So, we haven’t talked before, but your post in the Ouran High School Host Club tag reminded me of my final paper for my Gender/Women Studies and I thought I’d share it. I promise I’m not tagging for drama, but just because I wanted to thank you for reminding me. It was a lot of fun to write a research paper about my first anime, and, despite the negativity I talk about in the paper, it’s still a personal fave of mine. You’re free to scroll past this if you aren’t interested, or to engage if you are. I just want to share the work I’ve done with the fandom I’ve explored. 😁
Ouran High School Host Club: Rich in Benevolent Sexism and Rape Culture
He pinned her against the bed, looming above her like a wild beast. Her chocolate brown eyes were wide, her nightgown bunched, her breath caught in her chest. The two stared at each other, like predator and prey, for a split second that felt like an eternity. He opened his mouth, and spoke, surely, calmly.
“You should fix that, ‘being a guy or girl doesn’t matter’ naivety of yours. It’s your fault for being too defenceless.”
It may sound like something from a badly written smut piece, or the rape fantasy of a young person, but in Ouran High School Host Club, this is the reality of our heroine, Haruhi Fujioka. She is a ‘commoner’ (lower middle class) student at a school for Japan’s most elite, having gotten in on a scholarship. After an incident involving her stumbling into an occupied music room in search of a study place, a vase worth ¥8,000,000 (equal to approximately $73,000 in today’s United States dollars), and some classic anime tropes, she ends up as a member of the school’s host club. The series itself describes the host club as “[The place] where the school’s handsomest boys with too much time on their hands entertain young ladies who also have way too much time on their hands. Just think of it as Ouran’s elegant playground for the super rich and beautiful.” The series is one of the most famous of all time in the anime community, coming in at spot 20 out of the top 50 most popular anime of all time on the Anime News Network. On SBS, Ouran came in at spot 40 on a fan-voted poll for best anime of all time. On Funimation (the anime’s publisher site) and Crunchyroll (one of the most popular anime streaming sites of today’s day and age) Ouran comes in at 5 stars. It’s a well known, well liked piece of media, that has earned itself an anime adaptation from its manga origin, a dating simulator from its anime adaptation, and a live action reboot based on all three of the previous iterations. Yet, somehow, underneath all of the things to like, there’s a dark underbelly that many willfully ignore or are just plain unaware of. The series perpetuates gender roles, rape culture, and some not-so-subtle homophobia. The way that it gets away with these things is by portraying them through the lens of benevolent sexism, which catches readers, watchers, and players alike off-guard.
Benevolent sexism falls under the larger umbrella of ambivalent sexism, which is divided into two main categories. The first category is hostile sexism, which is what most people think of when they try and imagine sexism. It is described by Dictionary.com as, “[sexism] reflecting negative views of women who challenge traditional gender roles.” It is the toxic, hypermasculinized form of sexism that many are taught to look for. It is the comments of, “You aren’t a real woman if your hair is short like that,” and, “Women are dumber than men.” On the other end of the spectrum, there’s the idea of benevolent sexism. Rather than comments of, “Women are weaker than men, making them inferior,” we hear the benevolent sexist say, “Men should protect women, as it’s the right thing to do.” It’s those moments where women are told they look better when they smile, or are in dresses, or have children in arm. The words are complementary and polite, but they hold the same message as those negative comments of the hostile sexist. Ouran works carefully to craft its message so that it doesn’t insult its main fan base (young women), while still getting its message across. For example, there’s the character of Renge Houshakuji.
Renge first appears in the manga in ‘Episode 3’ and in episode 4 of the anime adaptation. She is what is known as an otaku, which, in modern culture, refers to someone obsessed with some aspect of pop culture (whether that be video games, anime, movies, etc.) to the point that their social life suffers. In Japan, the word has become a word similar to our ‘nerd’ or ‘geek’. In American culture, the word is considered derogatory, and usually falls in line with words like ‘weeaboo’ and ‘wapanese’. Renge wholeheartedly accepts her otaku status, locking herself in her room to do what she enjoys most; playing dating sims. After a turn of events, she ends up at the Host Club, believing that she is in love with Kyouya Ootori, a host who looks identical to one of her favorite characters. After she reveals that this is why she likes Kyouya, she is bashed for her hobbies and considered crazy. The moment her hobbies come to light, they are painted as wrong and she is vilified, even though her male counterparts are considered just and right in there own hobbies. When Hani, one of the hosts, is depicted as morally correct for acknowledging that he is allowed to like the color pink and cute things rather than martial arts. Renge is one of the few female characters in the show that is depicted as having personality traits outside of, “infatuated with handsome boys” and “ultra feminine”, yet she is considered “crazy” for expressing those outside traits. It isn’t that she isn’t traditionally feminine, but that she has more to her character than that, much to the dismay of her male counterparts. She has her own hobbies and ideas. She knows exactly what she wants and goes for it. Even if her methods are questionable and a bit on the stereotypically crazy side, she still goes after her aspirations.
When Tamaki, one of the main characters of the show, greets and flirtily welcomes Renge to the club, she flinches away at his nonconsensual touch. She seems shell-shocked, blushing in what seems like embarrassment. After she comes to terms with him touching her face without permission, she slaps him, calling him a phony (among other insults), and leaving him emotionally beaten before going to Kyouya, the one she really wants. She decides to reinvent the Host Club’s characters in order to help Kyouya make more money, which should, she believes, make him fall in love with her the way she loves him. She is shown to get her ‘comeuppance,’ in a sense, when everything she goes for backfires. Kyouya reveals that he does not like her, she nearly ends up hurt, and she is told that she must take her time and learn about others in order to have a good relationship of any kind. When you come into relationships expecting someone to act a certain way, you are harming your chances of a healthy relationship. The message is good, but Renge’s fate is not quite as nice. She becomes a frequent background character, used for exposition, cheap plot device, and/or the voice of the fawning fan girls. The closest we get to her personal hobbies is the fact that she sometimes cosplays and, if we’re lucky, hear her talk about them for five or so seconds.
Another example of women in the show comes in the form of Benio Amakusa and the rest of the Zuka Club. In the third book of the series, specifically in ‘Episode 10’, we are introduced to Benio. She is dressed in the men’s uniform, has short hair, and is openly flirtatious with Haruhi, acknowledging Haruhi’s sex publicly to the Host Club’s dismay. Once Benio and company reveal to the hosts that they are, in fact, women, Tamaki labels them all as lesbians. All three do end up showing attraction of some sort to women, but the fact that he labels them all as such simply because one is shown to enjoy dressing in the men’s uniform and having short hair is a disturbing thought in and of itself. Tamaki sees that one is a lesbian, and begins making assumptions about their collective character based on that assumption. He goes so far as to pass out in shock at the presence of lesbians, and, once he awakens, says the following to the three Lobelia Woman’s Academy members; “You girls are all wrong!! What can come from a woman loving a woman!? Why did God create Adam and Eve, if not--!” He’s cut off before he can finish the thought, much to the LGBT+ community’s pleasure. Much to the community’s displeasure, however, is the imagery used in the anime to depict lesbians as nazis, having them do the nazi salute to a flag labeled “women”. Back to the plot, once he believes that he might lose Haruhi to this all-girl’s academy, he has some of his fellow hosts dress in exaggerated womanly clothing and wigs so that she can have ‘the best of both worlds,’ so to speak. The hosts think that, if they act ‘womanly’ enough, they will be a satisfactory replacement. Haruhi proceeds to explain that she had never even considered going with the girls, as her home was with the hosts. The Lobelia girls promise their revenge in a seemingly silly and typical manner.
In the only other episode that the Lobelia girls show themselves in, we get to see them kidnap Haruhi and, under the guise of needing Haruhi to perform, trick her into a situation that would lead to a non-consensual kiss in front of a large crowd, if not do more to her. When you watch the show, there doesn’t seem to be much going on aside from a silly and ridiculous plan that some rich lesbians are pulling to get revenge on the ‘noble and correct’ Host Club. When you really think about what’s happening though, it’s scary. They kidnap someone. They nearly sexually assault someone. What does it say that there only true gay representation resorts to these tactics when they are previously thwarted? The girls are basically degraded to recurring villains with silly beliefs, antics, and existences. Why is that?
In volume 5 of the manga, ‘Episode 17,’ we get exposed to Ayame Jonouchi, who is entirely skipped over in the anime. She makes a return in the live action series, however, holding her own arc in the third episode of the series. She’s incredibly intelligent, notably attractive, and, according to the hosts, a monotone speaker. They even go so far as to call her, “Miss Morse” and “Morse Code Lady” at one point. She is described as scholarly looking and strait-laced, and holds a major grades complex. The last of those points explains why she has always been in the top two of her classes grading system, holding the second place position hostage directly under the Host Club’s Kyouya Ootori. Once Tamaki transfers to Ouran, however, she gets knocked down to third, much to her displeasure. She becomes a foil for Tamaki in a sense, showing that her struggle and constant practice to gain knowledge will never be enough to beat the natural tendencies of her male counterparts. After checking the traditional genders of all of the names listed on the sheet for her class, I discovered that there was only one other girl on the page. Her position? Seventh place.
Ayame’s tale’s conclusion is a little bit painful to watch, as it is near a cliche at this point. It turns out that she actually loved Tamaki for a certain comment he made about her straight hair during their first meeting. Her hair is naturally wavy, leading to her having self-image issues in the face of her crush that lead her grades to drop just enough for Tamaki to take her spot. Her wavy hair being exposed by the rain, a breakdown of frustration, and a few compliments from Tamaki later, she discovers that she is beautiful no matter how she looks on the outside, and becomes a regular customer of Tamaki’s. She is petite, cisgender, heterosexual, and pale. The only reason we know that she continues attending the Host Club is because it is literally written into the final panels of the chapter. We never actually see her again in either rendition of the story.
The most famous ‘woman’ in all renditions of Ouran High School Host Club is Haruhi Fujioka. She is a first semester high school student. She is of the lower middle class. She lives with her father that, in every rendition of the story, is called a ‘tranny’ who works at the local ‘tranny bar’ (rather than addressing him as a drag queen at a drag bar). Her mother was a lawyer before her passing. She is attending Ouran Academy on a scholarship. Her hair is short, she needs glasses, and she can’t afford a uniform. She wears her father’s hand-me-down clothes and her grandfather’s hand-me-down glasses to save money. She’s blunt, book smart, and open minded. She’s a lot of things, but, somehow, she gets some of the worst treatment of the series. She is the reader’s insight into the author’s world; the character being exposed for expositional purposes, so to speak. For the sake of brevity, let’s walk through some key episodes of the anime (which is the story’s most well-known adaptation) and talk about what goes wrong in each one.
In the first episode of the series, “Starting Today, You Are a Host!”, we are introduced to Haruhi Fujioka, the protagonist of the story, who is simply looking for a quiet place to study, and, by mistake, stumbles across a club room in use by Ouran Academy’s Host Club. The members (specifically Tamaki, the series’ largest offender) proceed to insult Haruhi on monetary grounds, insert themselves into her personal space, and assume her gender identity and sexuality. After Haruhi drops an 8 million yen vase, the hosts (again, primarily Tamaki) begin to call Haruhi a dog and basically use her as a servant/errand runner. At one point, Tamaki calls Haruhi a ‘piglet’ in reference to her poor ‘servant’ status putting her beneath him. Later in the episode, Haruhi is revealed to be conventionally attractive, her wants are ignored as the hosts makeover her. Her hair is cut, a uniform is bought, and contacts are put in to make her fit the traditionally beauty standards of manhood (as, for the moment, some of the hosts are under the ruse that she is, in fact, biologically male and cisgender). Once this happens, all who attend the host club seem to treat Haruhi better. She is talked to by girls (which, many argue, is understandable, as she is now a host. My counter-argument is that the girls had to request Haruhi in the first place, something they likely would not have done before Haruhi’s involuntary makeover) and the hosts begin paying her real attention. Tamaki begins claiming Haruhi as ‘his own’ to other people, signalling that, to him, attractiveness is the primary trait that is needed to be on the same level as him, personality be damned. He also proceeds to invade her personal space without consent, which leads to her calling on Mori (another host) for assistance.
Once we hit the final moments of the episode, we find that Haruhi has gone to a changing room as her uniform has been soaked in the events of the episode’s climax. Tamaki, yet again invading personal space without consent, walks in with little to no warning on Haruhi changing, discovering her sex is female. He is shocked and embarrassed, reacting in a seemingly cute way to the discovery. Kyouya eventually comments on the predicament, laying out on the table the true message of the episode. “Could this possibly be the beginnings of love?” he asks the viewer, turning to the camera. He wipes over all of the harassment Tamaki has done to Haruhi, ignores what she really wants in the moment, and waters her character down to ‘love interest’. She is the pretty, feminine foil to Tamaki’s handsome, ‘persistent’ (read as; incessant harassment) personality. They are clearly ‘meant to be together,’ and the show makes it clear in that moment that they will be together whether she wants to be or not as the men in her life see it that way.
In the eighth episode, “The Sun, The Sea, and The Host Club!”, we find the most controversial scene of the series. Before we can get to that, however, we need to walk through the circumstances that lead us to it. The Host Club is on a trip to the beach (after all the men in Haruhi’s life argue about which swimsuit she should wear, of course), and the male hosts decide to figure out what Haruhi is afraid of via a game. The game is that whoever finds out what Haruhi is most afraid of gets pictures (taken and supplied by Haruhi’s father) of Haruhi in middle school (the more I rewatch these episodes, the more creepy things I realize are in them). After a long day with no results, Haruhi gets called up upon an overlook by some of the Host Club’s guests. As she makes her way up to spend time with them, some drunk men beat her there and begin harassing the guests. They grab the girls, asking them if it’s dull without any boys around and ignoring the girls’ pleas to stop. Haruhi, arriving upon the scene, throws a bucket of shells at one of the offenders, calmly asking them to go away. She stands her ground when one of them attacks back, allowing for one of the girls they were harassing to get away at her own expense. After some verbal abuse, Haruhi is thrown off the overlook into the water below, where Tamaki immediately goes in after her. The other hosts handle the assaulters, and, once Haruhi is proven to be safe, the berating begins. “Are you one of those?” asks Tamaki. “Actually a martial arts master, like Honey-senpai?” He grabs her, and goes on. “How could you think that you, a girl, by yourself, could do anything about those boys?!” After Haruhi explains that her actions were a split second decision and she didn’t have time to think, he yells at her, “Well, think about it, you idiot! You are a girl!”
Tamaki and the rest of the male hosts seem to be on the same page, insisting that Haruhi needs to apologize for her actions. Haruhi, on the other hand, does not see any wrong in what she did, which leads to some friction between herself and Tamaki. The two refuse to speak to each other until one apologizes to the other. At dinner, to avoid talking, Haruhi overeats to the point of making herself sick, which she notices only after being chastised again by the hosts sans Tamaki and Kyouya for her actions. After they request an apology from her, she finds that she needs to empty her stomach’s contents and runs to the nearest bedroom. She finds out that the room is, in fact, Kyouya’s, and that the two of them are now alone, prompting the series’s most controversial scene. Fans sometimes call it, “The Scene in the Dark.”
Haruhi apologizes to Kyouya on multiple grounds as he takes the time to lay out all the hassle she has caused him. When Haruhi offers to pay him back, he points out that he has far more money than her and that she is already in debt. He turns down the lights as he lays out her dilemma and brings up a new solution as he leers at her; why doesn’t she pay him back using her body? While she stands there, attempting to process what he’s said, Kyouya takes action. He grabs her arm. He throws her upon the bed. He straddles her, pins her to the bed, and tells her, bluntly, “You should rethink your own gullibility, that things have nothing to do with a person being a guy or a girl. You’ve made a mistake in leaving yourself so open.” He looks her in the eye and, in simple terms, lays out that he could take her. He has more money, more power, and, most prominently, a penis. Haruhi says that he is bluffing, and, luckily, he was. He gets off of her, and she comments that he is “nicer than she thought” for the experience he’s provided. Bisco Hatori, the creator of Ouran, drives home her message bluntly. Women are weak and should be protected by the men in their lives. They should be passive and, if they fail to be such, should immediately apologize. If a man decides to not sexually assault or rape you, he is nice. You should be thankful that he has the courtesy to not sexually abuse you. It’s legitimately terrifying that this is the message that is being sent out.
As salt in the wound, the very next scene is with Tamaki and Haruhi, with the latter cast as a scared little girl in the damsel in distress trope. She hides herself in the closet, curled in a ball, as the audience and Tamaki discover that Haruhi is scared of thunderstorms! She explains that she has always had to rely on herself as her mother is dead and her dad is constantly working. In response, Tamaki promises to take care of her from now on, she seems to come to a silent agreement to lean on the men in her life more, and the two have an emotional make up moment. Haruhi gets love and support from her friends again once she begins to lean on the men in her life and accept the help. I’ve seen other people argue that the message of the episode is that everyone needs to rely on others sometimes, which is a fair argument, but I can’t bring myself to agree the more I look at it. If it’s just about relying on others, why is there the scared little girl imagery? Why do they even emphasize Haruhi’s sex at all in this scenario if it’s not about that? Hatori knew what she was writing, and the message she sent out. She had a plethora of other ways to explore this theme, and she wouldn’t have written it this way unless she meant for it to be taken in a gender-biased manner.
I could go on, but I feel that I’ve explained my stance on the matter. Ouran High School Host Club is a classic anime in the anime community. A lot of people I know and that I’ve heard from in my life grew up with the show, and some still seek a romantic partner like one of the hosts. In all of the series’s adaptations, we find that certain themes remain prevalent. Women are meant to be pretty, submissive things that are interested in their male counterparts at all times. If you have your own interests, you are obsessive and crazy. If you like the same sex, you are against men. If you take a leadership position, you’re a nag. If you stand for what you think is right, you are a bother to the men around you. It’s scarily similar to what I’ve seen on social media. If you talk about sex too much, you’re a slut. If you talk about sex too little, you’re a prude. If you are too skinny, you’re on drugs, too fat, you have no impulse control. It seems that there is no ‘right’ woman to possibly be, in the fantasy that is Ouran or in the reality we face daily. We can only hope that, someday in the future, we can look back at Ouran and unanimously see it for what it is; a romanticized sexist daydream disguised as a teenage anime romantic comedy.

I've always loved the Cottonwood Hills world by @martinessimblr, and the gorgeous builds she has done for them. Unfortunately, Martine has not been able to continue support or answer WCIFs herself for quite some time, while at the same time, I know a lot of people (including myself) would probably like to have a comprehensive list to refer to, rather than do the sleuthing themselves or comb through all the disparate WCIF posts on her main blog. So, with Martine's generous permission, I've taken it upon myself to assemble comprehensive WCIFs for her Cottonwood Hills buildings, or as many of them as I can manage, anyway, and post the results on my simblr.
However, instead of merely posting a list of links with no pictures, or splitting up each of the (already numerous) WCIF posts into several parts to accommodate Tumblr’s image restrictions, I’ve decided to use spreadsheets. I’ve done this for several reasons, not least because this way, people can reorder the list as they please: by order of source website, by creator, or by what specific part of the lot it can be found in.
For example, let’s say that I want to see all the items in the conference room area of the Tesla Science Lot (screenshot of the spreadsheet above). Items that are used in that room are marked with an “O” (as opposed to merely a blank space) in Column “I”. When you open up the sheet in Google Drive, simply RIGHT-click on the letter that denotes the column you want to look at (in my case “I”). A menu will pop up with options: select “Sort from A --> Z” to bring all the items used in the conference room to the top of the list.
I am using Martine’s list that she posted with her map of Cottonwood Hills. Links to my WCIF posts will be added as they are completed.
Currently WCIFs have been completed for 15 lots of 23 that I intend to do WCIFs for. (The remaining 8 lots have either had nothing special done to them, or they were built CC-free.)

Status updates:
2019 February 17: It’s been about a year and a half since I started this WCIF project, though it feels like way longer. Even so, it’s an awfully long time to make you guys wait, and so one of my major goals for this year is to get moving and finish WCIFs for all the lots before the end of 2019, and hopefully before I hit the two-year mark (which would be this upcoming summer).
In my own test games, the town is shaping up pretty nicely, and most of the lots are looking complete or at the very least reasonably close to the originals. I’ve made at least 85% progress on almost every lot that Martine built herself (the only exceptions of the art gallery and the ranch, which I’ve been putting off because those don’t tend to end up in my own versions of Cottonwood Hills). Writing them all up is a lot of work, of course, but locating lost CC is proving to still be the biggest hurdle to actually bringing this project to completion. And it certainly doesn’t help that the CC is getting lost-er and lost-er, as more and more TS3 creators are either moving on to TS4 and abandoning support for their old downloads, or quitting the community entirely.
For the last few lots I’ve written about, I’ve also been reuploading content that could be considered to be “lost”. Once I’ve posted about every lot that needs a WCIF, I will go back and add reuploads to my earlier posts as well. So far, I’ve received no complaints about how I share things, which is heartening, as I’ve tried to do it in as respectful a way as possible, while making life a bit easier for my followers who want the WCIFs.
What is NOT included: 1. Items from massive CC aggregate sites like MTS and TSR 2. Items from CC sites that are still online, and remain well-maintained (like Around The Sims 3, or any currently active simblrs / blogspot / wordpress sites) 3. Store content (with the exception of limited-edition items that are no longer available from EA themselves, even if you pay money)
What IS included: 1. Items by creators who are officially retired from Sims 3 creation (whether or not they are still creating for other games 2. Items that were hosted on sites that are now dead, if the creator has not themselves re-released the content 3. Content hosted online, but only on archive / backup sites and not by the creator themselves 4. Patterns that require extensive modification (fixing “materializing materials” bug, the “7edd20633162e6c*” bug, etc.) in order to be usable as .package files.
As I see it, those seven criteria are fairly black-and-white in terms of whether sharing the files (with or without explicit permission) is going to affect the community for worse or for better. A considerably grayer area is content from individual creators who are not famous and who also go on hiatus frequently, or are only occasionally active. Now, I really do not want to be diverting traffic away from individual simblrs, especially if they are not well-known to begin with... having been an obscure creator at one point (maybe I still am!), I know what it feels like to see people reupload or convert your stuff without acknowledging the hard work you put into it (not so much as a “thank you for your contribution, I want to do this with your stuff, may I?” comment).
But the fact remains that these are the very sites that are most likely to go down without warning (in fact, most of the “lost” uploads that gave me the most trouble to find were from small creators who had moved homepages without providing a forwarding address, so to speak, whether or not they actively scrubbed their old download links).
So I have decided to handle items from such creators on a case-by-case basis. If the simblrs appear to be stable despite their inactivity (that is to say, they don’t seem to be going away anytime soon, and the download links are likely to stay put where they are), I will generally try to avoid reuploading content. If, however, the creator has a history of deleting and/or restarting their blog frequently, if the links themselves are unstable, or if the creator has moved blogs in the past and has not made all their older downloads easily available, I will generally include their items in the zipped reuploads, to make things easier on everyone. And in any case, I will always provide a link back to the creator’s blog, if not to the download itself.
If at any point, any of the creators concerned get wind of what I am doing, and wish to explicitly make their creations off-limits, my inbox is open.

Useful links: a compilation of my Sims 3 tips, tricks, and tutorials
In my time on Tumblr I've created various little tips and tutorials posts related to Sims 3, and every time someone asks me for a link to one of them, or I need to refer someone to it elsewhere, I have to dig back through my archive for it. To that end, I figured doing one HUGE dig to list them all in a single post would be the best option. I'll try to put them on a page as well, so it's linked at the top of my Simblr, but lately Tumblr has been screwing up links on pages, so I'm putting them here in one easy-to-reference post as well.
General Sims 3 tips
Fixing 'bad ages' corrupt clothing
Examining Sims for potentially problematic extra CC
A quick way to tell if a special seed is a money tree
Quick lighting tips for TS3
CC List: Create-A-Gunther! (Turn Sunset Valley's Gunther Goth into the version from my story)
How to fix games that won't save if you've placed BuyDebug items down
How to keep Sims from moving around when you’re photo-shooting, without resorting to poses (yes, it IS possible!)
How to quickly ID your collection files without restarting
Resources for Sims story writing (twitter, facebook, text message etc generators and suchlike)
Video tutorial: Image editing
Antiqued photo tutorial
Tips for taking good Sims 3 pictures
How to remove those annoying leftover gate posts
Using SNAP files to catalogue your saved Sims
Nifty little table trick (create large dining tables for screenshots)
Using Bulk Rename Utility to rename your CC files
How to make more realistic vampire Sims (includes cc link for additional makeup)
How to use Master Controller to speed up your CAS load time
How I organise and identify all of my CC
Using the Thumbnail Extractor program to ID all of your CC within seconds (this one’s essential if you have a lot of CC!)
Building tutorials
Illustrated guide to building a cc-free medieval-style tower
Illustrated guide to building the Halls of Music
Non-Sims, but still useful!
How to download safely from Mediaire (no more popups!)
Using the HOSTS file to block ads
Using Evernote and Clearly to save web pages (OUTDATED: Evernote no longer needs Clearly do to this, but it’s still a useful tip for saving those tutorials you want to keep so that - if their creator deletes their blog - you still have them.)
Free Medieval fonts
How to enable distraction-free writing without using any programs
Lastly, for my own personal reference
Image editing for each style of story

Taiwan with You
DAY 1  16 Jan 2016 (Sat) Singapore - Taipei Reached Taoyuan  Airport Reached airport quite early, and the first thing was to buy SIM card. Gabriel actually got the Overseas Wi-Fi Routers Rental at Changi airport, and the price was reasonable, but I thought that I might need to call the taxi uncles and house owners so I got a SIM card to back up and I don't really like the idea of using my auto roaming to call as I have to worry my HP bill. Another reason I gave myself was, clients will not be able to reach me by calling! =PBut anyway, most of the mobile service providers opens at 8am. I was lucky so see a IF Sim card booth, so I just pick that service provider as I don't wish to spend time waiting until 8am.
**Journey to our Home Stay **For our first night, I've booked our accommodation through HomeAway, my host is WaWa. There's 3 rooms there and similar to some HDB houses in Singapore, only master bedroom comes with toilet. We prefer having a private toilet which is why I chose the room below. Check-in time was 3pm, but I did mentioned to WaWa I'll reach early, and we can leave or luggages at the living room "like a lobby".WaWa house is in between Zhongxiao Dunhua and Sun-Yat Sen Memorial Hall. How I travelled there:From airport we took 1819 > Taipei Main Station > take Blue Line towards Sun-Yat Sen Memorial Hall
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Exploring Beitou
After leaving our luggages and taking out some toiletries (to use after hot spring), we head to Beitou. I've planned to visit Beitou Hot Spring Musuem, follow by Beitou GeoThermal Valley (Hell Valley) as well as Sweet Me Hotspring Resort . To find a nice ambience to soak myself was very important and I've looked through maps locations, and browsed resorts and hotels before I finalised with this resort.
How I travelled there:
Sun-Yat Sen Memorial Hall > Taipei Main Station > take Red Line towards Beitou > Xin Beitou (Refer to TAIPEI MRT MAP)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After touring the museum, we walked uphill to Beitou GeoThermal Valley.
Before my trip to Taiwan, I got to know from my cell group mate that Jessie (another of my cell group mate) was already in Taiwan, and since then I had this intuition that I'll bump into her! It was scary to know that my sixth sense is so strong, I bumped into Jessie at thermal valley!!
Next we head to Sweet Me Hotspring Resort to enjoy our private hot spring. There's public open hot spring (like public swimming pool), hotel/resort public hot spring or hotel/resort private hot spring.
We were quite tired and sleepy after the comfortable soak in hot spring. Nevertheless, we continued our journey to Tamsui Old Street.
My initial plan was to cycle to fisherman's wharf first be cause I've always wanted to take the "heart" pose with my partner at the Lover's Bridge. , but ended up shopping and snacking at old Tamsui street!
Our night ended at Raohe Night Market. I was very sleepy by then, energy all drained. :D
I like Raohe Night market a lot more than others, maybe because of the food there. I realised as I grew older, I eat more than I shop! Maybe this explains why I'm expanding horizontally! Haha~
Shall continue on day too when I'm free ~
