The Magick Staff

My own personal staff.
In magickal traditions, the staff is one of the most iconic tools, representing authority, connection to the earth, spiritual power, and the channeling of energy. Often associated with wizards, shamans, and wise figures in folklore, the staff is a powerful tool that amplifies and focuses the practitioner’s intentions. It is more than just a physical object; it is imbued with deep symbolism and magickal meaning.
Symbolism of the Staff in Magick
Connection to the Earth:
• The staff often symbolizes grounding and is a tool that connects the witch, mage, or practitioner to the energy of the Earth. Its long length allows it to metaphorically "anchor" the user, bringing them into alignment with the natural flow of energy and the stability of the Earth.
• It’s said to bridge the physical and spiritual worlds, acting as a conduit between them.
Power and Authority:
• Historically, the staff was a symbol of authority, often held by kings, shamans, and religious figures. In magick, this represents a practitioner’s power to wield and control magick. It symbolizes mastery over energy and forces, allowing the practitioner to act with command.
• It’s not just about control, but also responsibility in wielding power.

Channeling Energy:
• The staff is used to direct and amplify the energy raised in a spell or ritual. Whether it is used to draw down power from the cosmos or to channel energy from the earth, the staff serves as a tool of focus, helping the practitioner direct their will in the desired manner.
Balance and Duality:
• The staff can represent the balance between the masculine and feminine energies. Its upright form is associated with masculine power (yang), but when the practitioner uses it in rituals, the energy may be balanced with the feminine energy (yin), especially when used in conjunction with other tools like a chalice or athame.
Spiritual Growth:
• In many traditions, the staff is also seen as a tool of spiritual progression, representing a journey of ascension and enlightenment. The staff may be used in rituals meant to guide the practitioner through phases of spiritual growth or in invoking higher spiritual entities.
Practical Uses of the Staff in Magick
Focus and Direction:
• The staff serves as a focal point for directing your energy during rituals. By pointing the staff in a certain direction or drawing sigils in the air with it, the practitioner focuses and amplifies the energy they are channeling.
• For example, in circle casting, the staff can be used to mark the boundaries of the magickal space or to direct the energy of the circle’s creation.

Ritual and Ceremony:
• In ceremonial magick, the staff is often used to summon, direct, or banish spirits, deities, and energies. For example, a practitioner may use the staff in a ritual of invocation to connect with a deity, using the staff as a magickal link.
• The staff can also be used to open or close portals, creating a safe, protective boundary for work with the other realms.
Divination and Meditation:
• The staff can act as a tool for divination. When used in meditation, it may help focus the practitioner’s intent to receive visions or messages from the spirit world.
• Many practitioners use a staff to help enter altered states of consciousness in order to communicate with spirits, ancestors, or higher selves.
Healing and Protection:
• In healing rituals, the staff can act as a channel to direct healing energy from the earth or higher planes into the recipient. It can also be used to clear negative energy or block harmful entities by pointing it at the afflicted area or person.
• The staff is also used in protective rituals, either as a tool to create protective boundaries or to invoke protective spirits.
Astral Travel and Pathworking:
• Some witches and magicians use the staff as an anchor during astral projection or pathworking. By holding the staff during these practices, the practitioner may feel more grounded and able to direct their journey through the astral planes.
Creating Sacred Space:
• During rituals, the staff can be used to draw sacred symbols on the ground or to create sacred space by marking the perimeter of the working area. This is often used to consecrate the space or to set boundaries for the work being done.

How to Craft Your Own Magickal Staff
Material Selection:
• Traditionally, the staff is made from wood (often oak, ash, or hazel) because wood is seen as a natural conductor of energy. However, you can choose the material that resonates with your energy or intention. For instance, you might choose crystal-studded staffs for heightened spiritual connection or iron or copper for specific types of energy channeling.
Personalization:
• A staff is a deeply personal object. Add carvings, runes, or symbols that resonate with your magickal practice. You may want to carve your personal sigil, protective symbols, or representations of your spiritual guides or totems. You could also affix crystals and stones to the staff, or adorn it with talismans or charms.
Charging the Staff:
• After crafting or acquiring your staff, charge it with your intent. Hold it in your hands, close your eyes, and focus on imbuing it with your power, energy, and intentions. You can also use rituals such as blood offerings, blessings, or sacred fire to activate its full potential.
Caring for Your Staff:
• A staff is an object of deep importance in magickal practice. Treat it with respect, keep it in a safe, clean place, and use it regularly in rituals to strengthen your connection to it.
The staff is a deeply symbolic and powerful tool in magick, acting as both a focal point for energy and a magickal conduit. It empowers the practitioner to harness their will, ground their energy, and connect with the spiritual realms. Whether for protection, healing, or invoking power, the staff can help you channel your intentions with great precision.

✨ Welcome to my mystical space! I immerse myself in my magical thoughts, creating spell jars, exploring the universe, learning more about myself. My workspace may look cluttered, but every item has a special place and meaning. I feel deeply connected to the universe and the cosmos, believing in the energy that makes life happen. When I'm not casting spells (nothing harmful, only positive vibes here..unless justice is needed), I love to repurpose items and incorporate natural finds into my craft. I have also plotted out a personal tarot set, and enjoy looking at my altar every day, arranging my tools when the energy seems right.

Moving into a new home is a powerful moment—it’s more than unpacking boxes, it’s laying down spiritual roots. Here’s a full menu of new home rituals to choose from, mix, or make your own. These blend ancestral wisdom, energy cleansing, and intention-setting—because your home should know who’s in charge of the vibes now.
🏡 New Home Blessing & Clearing Rituals
🔥 1. Full Home Smoke Cleanse
Purpose: Clear out any lingering energy from previous occupants.
What You’ll Need:
• White sage, cedar, or palo santo (optional: add sweetgrass or lavender for sweetness)
• Fire-safe bowl
• Feather or hand fan
• Open windows
How-To:
• Start at the front door and walk clockwise through each room, wafting smoke into corners, closets, and doorways.
• Speak aloud:
“I cleanse this space of all that no longer belongs. Only love, peace, and joy may remain.”
• When finished, thank the smoke and offer a prayer of gratitude.
💧 2. Florida Water Floor Wash
Purpose: Cleanse the energy and protect your space.
How-To:
• Add a few splashes of Florida Water to your mop bucket with warm water and a pinch of salt.
• Mop floors from back to front (pushing old energy out the door).
• As you clean, visualize light filling every corner.
• Say:
“With every sweep and wash, I welcome clarity, calm, and protection.”
🕯️ 3. Four Corners Candle Ritual
Purpose: Invite peace, prosperity, protection, and love into the home.
What You’ll Need:
• 4 small white candles
• Herbs or oils (optional: rosemary for protection, cinnamon for abundance, rose for love, lavender for peace)
How-To:
• Place one candle in each corner of your home.
• Light them one by one while stating your intentions:
• “In this corner, I invite peace.”
• “In this corner, I call in prosperity.”
• “In this corner, I welcome protection.”
• “In this corner, I embrace love.”
• Sit in the center of the home and feel it all soak in.
🧂 4. Salt + Protection Line
Purpose: Seal your home from negative energy.
How-To:
• Sprinkle a line of sea salt across doorways and windowsills (if you have pets/kids, you can use black tourmaline or protective sigils instead).
• Say:
“No harm may cross this line. This home is sacred.”
🌸 5. Ancestral Welcome
Purpose: Invite ancestral guidance and blessing.
How-To:
• Set up a small altar with a glass of water, a white candle, and items that represent your ancestors or spirit guides.
• Say:
“Beloved ones who walk with me, bless this home. May your wisdom fill these walls, and your love guard every door.”
• Light the candle and let it burn (supervised) while you unpack a little.
🌙 6. New Moon Housewarming Spell (Optional Timing Add-On)
Best done: On a New Moon or Waxing Moon
Purpose: Set long-term intentions for your life in this home.
How-To:
• Write your intentions on a piece of paper (ex: “May this be a place of healing, creativity, family, and joy.”)
• Fold it toward you, place under a candle or in a special jar, and say:
“As this moon grows, so does the magic within these walls.”
✨ Bonus Tips:
• Play music or your favorite spiritual playlist while you cleanse. Let the frequency shift with joy.
• Open every window and turn on the lights—light brings life.
• Cook something homemade the first night. Food is soul glue.
• Sleep with a crystal near your bed the first few nights (clear quartz, black tourmaline, or rose quartz work beautifully).
You deserve a home that wraps around you like a warm hug from your ancestors. Let it be a sanctuary, a spell, a safe haven.
Ready to claim it? 💫

this may just be me going into overanalysis mode but i feel like the choreography of spellcasting can tell you so much about a magic user. a snap of the fingers, for example, implies confidence, even arrogance, while hands thrust out and straining to the fingertips suggests desperation, throwing one's whole body into the spell as though hoping the physical effort will make a difference. rapid, jerky body language tells you that a spellcaster is passionate and reckless, while graceful, fluid movements demonstrate calm and concentration. some magic users may choose to stomp their feet or clap their hands when casting, channeling power through percussive motion, whilst others may see magic as a tool separate from the self, and focus it through objects like a wand or staff. a new spellcaster just coming into their power may be tentative and slow, but a practiced study of magic will be able to rely on muscle memory to guide them.

— A STUDENT’S GUIDE TO HOGWARTS CLASSES

˚ ✦ . . ˚ . . ✦ ˚ . ★⋆. ࿐࿔
FOR EVERY CLASS . always sit where you can see (or avoid) the professor’s mood swings. bring a spare quill, and for Merlin’s sake, read all instructions on the board
★⋆. ASTRONOMY
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR SINESTRA . she’s chill if you stay quiet. don’t interrupt her passionate stargazing rants, or she’ll assign extra homework on constellations literally no one’s ever heard of
HOMEWORK . star charts and essays on planetary motion. tedious but straightforward—accuracy is everything.
TIPS TO EXCEL . memorize constellations and learn how to cast Lumos just dim enough so that you don’t blind everyone during late-night pitch black lessons
EXTRA CREDIT . spot and track a rare celestial event, like a comet. (bonus points if you can pronounce its Latin name to Sinestra without choking)
AVOID MISHAPS . never mix up Mars and Mercury on your chart—you’ll be doomed in astronomy and divination
★⋆. CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR HAGRID . show genuine interest in his creatures, even if they look like they could eat you (because they definitely could)
HOMEWORK . research magical creature habits and write about their care. watch out—he loves long essays (he can basically make students write books about his favorite subject for him)
TIPS TO EXCEL . always wear dragonhide gloves and boots that cover your ankles. treat the creatures and Hagrid with respect—he’ll notice
EXTRA CREDIT . help feed or clean up after the creatures during your free periods or after class. it’s messy, but he appreciates it immeasurably
AVOID MISHAPS . never, ever call a Blast-Ended Skrewt “gross” within his earshot
★⋆. CHARMS
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR FLITWICK . he’s sweet but sharp. pay attention, or you’ll be called on mid-yawn to demonstrate something tricky.
HOMEWORK . practice spells at home. if your wandwork looks like you’re conducting a dance recital, you’re doing it wrong.
TIPS TO EXCEL . focus on precise wand movements and pronunciation—no “swish and flick” means no charm
EXTRA CREDIT . perform an original charm in class and explain how you invented it (hint: slap a name on something flashy, and ramble about how Flitwick’s class gave you the “tools to do it”)
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t use charms on your classmates (no matter how obnoxious they are) unless you want detention for “unsanctioned spellcasting”
★⋆. DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS
DEALING WITH THE PROFESSOR . varies wildly year to year. if they’re twitchy, don’t ask questions. if they’re confident, challenge them slightly—they love it
HOMEWORK . spell practice, theoretical essays on defensive strategies, and (sometimes) practical exams.
TIPS TO EXCEL . master shield charms early—Protego is your bread and butter. always watch your back in “surprise” practical tests (the surprise could be a curse aimed at your back)
EXTRA CREDIT . propose new defense tactics for obscure threats like Lethifolds or hinkypunks, it shows interest in the less ‘cool’ aspects of the dark arts
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t hex yourself in class while demonstrating a jinx. you won’t get in trouble. but it’s embarrassing.
★⋆. DIVINATION
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY . just nod and act fascinated. she’s happier when you look like you believe her
HOMEWORK . dream journals, tea-leaf sketches, and guesses at what the stars are “telling” you.
TIPS TO EXCEL . make up dramatic predictions that sound poetic. extra marks for impending doom towards a classmate
EXTRA CREDIT . spot a “true vision” (or just pretend you did). a fainting act doesn’t hurt
AVOID MISHAPS . never laugh at her predictions, even if they sound ridiculous—she’ll doom you for life (and you never know what fate holds)
★⋆. HERBOLOGY
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR SPROUT . show some love for plants, and she’ll adore you. don’t sass her or underestimate how dangerous some herbs are
HOMEWORK . care guides for magical plants, essays on uses for their parts, and detailed sketches
TIPS TO EXCEL . be gentle with the plants, even the ones with attitudes. also, if you’re prone to daydreaming, please keep a note of which vines bite
EXTRA CREDIT . cultivate a rare magical plant and present its uses in class (good luck)
AVOID MISHAPS . always wear gloves when handling anything spiky, slimy, or screaming
★⋆. HISTORY OF MAGIC
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR BINS . he doesn’t even care if you’re awake, but it helps if you look like you’re taking notes
HOMEWORK . endless essays on goblin rebellions, giant wars, and other events you’ll most definitely forget by next term
TIPS TO EXCEL . use mnemonic devices to remember key dates. start essays early—he grades on length
EXTRA CREDIT . find obscure historical details to add to essays. mentioning “primary sources” makes you look smart, and Binns doesn’t typically look into it further
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t doodle in your notes too obviously—he might drone on even more if he catches you
★⋆. POTIONS
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR SNAPE . know your ingredients and don’t speak unless spoken to. follow his instructions perfectly and try to look invisible. or he’ll eviscerate you
HOMEWORK . brewing practice and essays on potion theory. if you mess up the potion, he’ll expect twice the length in your essay
TIPS TO EXCEL . re-chop your ingredients before class, and try to do other prep work. Snape hates inefficiency
EXTRA CREDIT . create a new potion under his supervision. (warning: he will make you test it.)
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t ever blame Snape or his instructions if something explodes. just accept it and clean up quietly
★⋆. TRANSFIGURATION
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR MCGONAGALL . she’s strict but fair. do your work well, and she’ll respect you; slack off, and she’ll make you wish you hadn’t
HOMEWORK . spell diagrams, written explanations, and frequent wandwork practice
TIPS TO EXCEL . precision and focus are key. get creative, but don’t try anything too wild without permission
EXTRA CREDIT . demonstrate a flawless human-to-animal transfiguration (with her approval)
AVOID MISHAPS . never let your transfigured objects escape—chasing a hopping teacup through the halls is not fun, and you’ll never hear the end of it
★⋆. ARITHMANCY
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR VECTOR . she’s sharp and no-nonsense, but she’s got a soft spot for students who genuinely try. don’t show up without your charts; she’ll notice
HOMEWORK . endless numerical equations and analysis of magical patterns. expect to translate runes into numbers and vice versa
TIPS TO EXCEL . understand how numbers relate to magic—this isn’t just math, it’s magic theory in disguise. double-check your work; one wrong digit can tank your entire assignment
EXTRA CREDIT . present a new numerological correlation, like how the number “7” might affect potion brewing. bonus if it’s creative but realistic
AVOID MISHAPS . never guess at a solution—Professor Vector will spot laziness in seconds. keep your workspace neat, or the equations will haunt you
★⋆. ANCIENT RUNES
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR BABBLING . she’s patient and incredibly smart, but don’t come to class unprepared. misreading a rune will make her launch into a lecture about “respecting the symbols.”
HOMEWORK . translate ancient texts, decipher rune sequences, and write essays on magical etymology. sometimes includes carving your own runes for practice.
TIPS TO EXCEL . memorize the rune meanings and their magical properties—flashcards help. pay attention to detail; even a tiny line can change the meaning of a rune
EXTRA CREDIT . create your own rune sequence that produces a magical effect and explain its purpose. creative runework always gets top marks
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t mix up Nordic and Celtic runes—they have very different contexts, and Professor Babbling will lecture you for days
★⋆. MUGGLE STUDIES
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR BURBAGE . she’s enthusiastic and loves students who ask questions, even obvious ones. if you show respect for Muggle ingenuity, you’re golden
HOMEWORK . research papers on Muggle inventions and their impact, as well as practical exercises like identifying Muggle objects
TIPS TO EXCEL . don’t overthink it—Muggles live without magic, but they’re surprisingly clever. show curiosity and avoid using the word “primitive”
EXTRA CREDIT . present a Muggle artifact and explain how it works. bonus points if you demonstrate something functional, like a can opener or a bicycle pump
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t call electricity “the Muggle version of Lumos” unless you want a 10-minute tangent about how they’re completely different
★⋆. FLYING
DEALING WITH MADAM HOOCH . she’s strict but fair; listen to her instructions, and she’ll let you have some fun. mess around, and you’ll be grounded faster than you can say “Quidditch”
HOMEWORK . practicing broom control outside of class and writing essays about famous flyers or the mechanics of flight
TIPS TO EXCEL . focus on balance and broom grip—this isn’t about speed (yet). always stretch before class; cramps mid-air are embarrassing and painful
EXTRA CREDIT . show off advanced flying techniques, like tight turns or broom dives (but only if you’re really confident). bonus for clean landings
AVOID MISHAPS . never try to show off in front of the first-years—wobbling on a loop-the-loop is not a good look. keep your broom maintained; a splintered handle spells disaster.
[ there you have it—follow this guide, and you’ll not only pass these classes with flying colors, but you might even look like you know what you’re doing while you’re at it, and maybe you’ll avoid getting hexed by Snape. we’ll see ]

Wind Magic: Spellcasting With the Breath of the World 🌬️
Not all magic needs herbs or tools. Sometimes, the wind is enough.
Wind is movement, change, voice, and spirit — one of the most overlooked natural forces in witchcraft.
🌀 Each Wind Has a Meaning:
• North Wind (cold, sharp) - banishment, clarity, ancestral connection
• South Wind (hot, intense) - passion, strength, destruction or ignition
• East Wind (morning, rising) - new beginnings, breathwork, communication
• West Wind (gentle, oceanic) - dreams, emotion, spirit work, healing
🌫️ Ways to Work With Wind:
• Whisper your intention into the breeze and let it carry it away
• Use a feather, ribbon, or wind chime as a magical “sail” for your spells
• Stand in strong wind and release thoughts or energies that cling
• Throw herbs, petals, or ashes into the wind as offerings or messages
• Write a message on paper and let the wind decide where it ends

Wheel of Monsters
Image © @bowelfly
[April Fools! Like previous April Fools' monsters I've done, this is intended to be fully usable at table, just... weird. Most of my previous April Fools monsters have been pop culture references, and this one is, just a little slantwise. The expression "wheel of monsters" has been rattling around my head for years, inspired by game shows and game show parodies like Wheel of the Worst. The monsters its summons pulls from by default are mostly ones on the Codex, but I've included guidelines on how to customize it if you don't want to look up a whole bunch of bespoke stat blocks (assuming, of course, anyone actually uses this abomination at table).]
Wheel of Monsters CR 15 CE Aberration This thing is a quadruped with a long tail and clawed limbs, but its semblance to sane life ends there. Instead of a head, it has a vertically oriented dial with twelve facets, each with a different combination of eyes, teeth and strange glyphs. A single eye sits in the center of the wheel atop the axle. Spikes protrude forward from the edge of the wheel, plucked by a stinger at the end of a long tail. Said tail also has a strange flap on it that has the appearance of a sign, or possibly scoreboard.
The wheel of monsters is a strange tool in the service of the Dominion of the Black. They were invented by the daelkyr Harsanash, whose interests lie in the role that chance events play in increasing entropy and the downfall of complex systems. The wheels of monsters exploit chance by generating random spells and summoning random monsters, drawn from distant worlds under Dominion control or the depths of the Dimension of Dream. These far-flung summons have already had disastrous effects, as now both the quori and beholders know about Golarion and its corner of space, and gaze upon it with envious eyes.
Despite their grotesque appearances, wheels of monsters are quite intelligent—geniuses by the standards of humanoids. They tend to have something of a split personality; obsequious and loyal to higher ranking Dominion creatures, even less powerful ones, but snide and condescending to most other lifeforms. Most wheels of monsters have a fondness for cracking jokes and giving color commentary during combat. All of its many mouths are capable of speech, and it can alter the pattern and coloration on its tail flap with incredible precision in order to spell out words in any language it knows. A common behavior is to speak primarily through one mouth, with an unctuous tone, while making sounds like crowd noises and cheers with its other maws.
A wheel of monsters is usually on the move in combat, stalking from place to place in order to better make use of their spells. They are excellent climbers and have at least the possibility of flight through their random spellcasting, and so prefer to have a birds-eye view of the action in order to better place monsters or effects. A wheel of monsters keeps its tactics flexible, but almost always summons a monstrous minion as soon as it can to engage foes. In melee, they can sting with their plectrum tails, inducing confusion in foes, and grab with their claws. They prefer to split those attacks up, stinging enemies to disrupt their tactics and then focusing the bulk of their violence on a single target. If a wheel of monsters has a foe grabbed, it lowers its spiked face on top of their victim and spin it, tearing with all of its spikes and teeth simultaneously. When fighting on their own terms, wheels of monsters will gladly flee a losing fight, but gladly sacrifice their lives in order to promote the objectives of their superiors.
Appropriately enough for a creature of weaponized chance, different wheels of monsters may be able to call forth different spells or summons by spinning their wheels. In order to adjust the wheel of monsters’ spellcasting spin, replace some or all of the spells with spells of the appropriate level. A wheel of monsters can call upon two spells of each level from 1st to 6th. In order to adjust the wheel of monsters’ summoning spin, replace some or all of the monsters with monsters of the appropriate challenge rating. A wheel of monsters can summon two monsters of each CR between 8 and 13.

Special Abilities Confusion (Su) A creature stung by a wheel of monsters must succeed a DC 24 Will save or be confused, as per the spell, for 1 minute. If the confused creature gets the “act normally” result two turns in a row, the effect ends early. This is a mind-influencing compulsion effect, and the save DC is Charisma based. Fortune’s Favor (Su) A wheel of monsters has a +3 luck bonus to its AC and to its saving throws. Spellcasting Spin (Su) At will as a standard action, a wheel of monsters can spin its wheel to cast a random spell. Witches Brew
Slime monster x afab!witch

Happy October! Here's some spooky smut for the spooky season!
It was October and Halloween was just around the corner! So! Of course you were bubbling up some witches brew for one of your most busy seasons of the year.
You stood in your studio apartment, walls covered in wooden shelves. Atop of those shelves were bottles full of your favorite things: dry herbs, powder mixes, and other potion and spellcasting tools you would need for your work. In the middle of the room stood a big cast iron cauldron. You had arranged some cement blocks to hold an electric fire starter underneath it, as you didn't have a fireplace. It was hard being a witch in the city, but you made do. This was where all the clientele was, after all.
You were standing over the boiling cauldron, an old grimiore in one hand, and mixing the golden liquid with another. The grimoire was your great grandmother something you had recently inherited. You were practically shaking with excitement! Your great grandmother had been an excellent witch, known far and wide for her potions. You had flipped through her book and found it, a recipe for her “Extremely Special Witches Brew”, the first two words being underlined. Witches brew was the basis of so much potion work. If it was extremely special then that must mean it was incredibly potent!
You had been brewing for about six hours now. The recipe started out incredibly normal, but had specified that you stare it down for the next hour, adding a lock of your own hair and some mermaid scales. This had been the most difficult bit, as mermaid scales had a habit of boiling over the pot unless babied with compliments and sweet words. Unusual for witches brew, but you trusted your grandmother.
You had finally finished your hour of staring, marveling and cooing, turning off the fire starter. The next step was to let it cool. When it was finished, the grimoire specified, the mixture would condense and turn a lovely green color.
You waited another hour and checked on the brew. Strange. There had been no change in consistency, and the color remained as gold as the sun on a winter's day. You waited another hour. Nothing.
You cursed. Were had you gone wrong? This recipe had been incredibly expensive, and you'd made ALOT of it, expecting to use it for the rest of the year. Upset, you went to bed early, muttering yourself to sleep.
It was around midnight when something started to stir in the cauldron. Any waking ear would have heard the sputtering and gurgling as the magic started to awaken. Slowly, a small green tendril dripped its way onto the floor, continuously flowing until the full glob, the size of a small person made its way to the floor. Slowly, it rolled across the carpet and stopped at the bed. It watched you sleep for a moment before pulling itself up into the foot of the bed, under your covers.
You woke up feeling something crawl up your thighs. When you opened your eyes you glanced up, not seeing anything. But their was a pressure on you, something cool and wet, like a weighted blanket was curling itself up towards your core.
You tore your blanket off of you and saw it, a dark building sludge, glowing beautifully under the moonlight streaming from your window.
You were so shocked, you didn't react. That was, until it had decided to pull itself under your panties and push itself between your lips. You gasped out as it completely covered you, gliding back and forth against your entrance and up towards your clit. It was pushing and closing all around you, the wetness feeling so good against your skin.
Despite the fact that your stomach was in knots you tried to push the glob off of you. Your hands made contact, but pushed right through, into the creature. You tried to pull your arms out, but the thing tightened around them. You tried to leverage your weight, pulling back as hard as you could, but only managed to pull the thing with you as you rocked back.
The thing was heavy, pushing down your tummy and making its way up your chest. It did not stop sliding up and down your vulva, your breath hitching as it seemed to catch at your entrance. There was an experimental push there and you squirmed, your heart in your throat.
Suddenly, the area felt even more slippery then it did before. The creature started to glow, a soft grass green, as all across your skin, the thing seemed to seep some sort of liquid. You could feel it drip down the crevices of your groin, down the slopes of your chest as you noticed the thing start to disintegrate your nightgown.
You wriggled as much as you could, trying to push back arousal as you shimmied to the edge of the bed. But the creature had a grip on you and the more you moved the faster it started to glide and explore the planes of your now exposed skin. It was fully enveloping you.
You gasped as it pushed into your entrance, a slippery tendril slowly making its way up and around your walls, leaving behind a sticky liquid as it moved. Your body was slowly starting to tingle. Your breathe was becoming even more ragged and the cool and slick textured of the sludge started to feel even more pleasant then it had before.
Your mind was getting fuzzy. The feeling of the thing on your skin, paired with the weight, while previously scary, was really stoking the fire in your core. Hadn't you been so desperate lately for a feeling like this? To feel the weight of a lover as you mewled out from under them?
Your vision started to get fuzzy too. Fuzzy. You felt fuzzy all over. The need in you continued to grow as all you could concentrate on was the sudden movements on every part of your body. Hot. You felt hot..
Your waist, the curves of your breast, your inner thighs, your nipples, they were being caressed, grabbed, groped. All of this continued as a sharp sucking started to occur on your clit. You cried out, not caring if the neighbors could hear you as it sucked wave after wave of pleasure from your skin.
More tendrils had made their way into your hot wet cunt. The girth of it made you buck your hips, straining beautifully under the the green glowing creature. You liked how it pushed you back down, experimenting with where to shift its weight as you keened out.
Green.
The witches brew. The Extremely Special witches brew.
Fuck.
You weren't able to think further as a large girthy tendril suddenly shot itself into you, thrusting into you with force. There was a needle like sucking of your nipples as the thing glided circles over every surface of your body. It was so much sensation you could barely think. The thrusting quickening its pace, pushing harder and faster into you until you broke, your orgasm rocking through you like an earthquake.
But it didn't stop thrusting. And you didn't stop wanting it to fuck you, jerking your wobbly pelvis into the tendrils with futility. You giggled as the slime started to massage more fluid onto your vulva and cunt. Cum and aphrodisiac trickled out of you as the thing bullied that spongy spot that made you see stars.
You had started to drool, which attracted the attention of the glob near your chest. A slimy tendril made its way to the drool streaming down your neck and chest, sucking. It seemed to be devouring the liquid as it made its way into your mouth, sucking your skin and tongue. You moaned around it, an herby taste oozing. You recognized some of the notes as ingredients in your brew.
A silent chuckle vibrated through your chest. Mermaid scales. Worth every buck.
You came again. And again. And again. The slime fucked you over so much that you couldn't quite understand where it started and you began. You were so needy and so desperate for the next orgasm that you didn't notice the sunlight streaming down onto your conjoined bodies.
Some tendrils had made its way to your face, pushing back hair and sucking lazily on the sweat streaming down your forehead. Then, the coil within you snapped one more time, washing over you like a gentle wave on the beach. And the thrusting stopped. The sucking stopped.
The tendrils within you started to recede and form back into the main glob of the creature. It started to absorb all the slick of your body, leaving a lone bouncy weight on your skin.
The two of you laid like that for a while as you caught your final breath, barely able to stay conscious. The thing started to prod circles into your sore aching muscles. You heard a keening sound. That surprised you a little. But that keen had been filled with so much affection, your heart couldn't help but be affected.
As you lost consciousness, one thought stayed in your mind.
Best fucking spell ever.

hi! what do we know about ways of magical travel in dungeon meshi? specifically, I'm looking for information regarding the scrolls they use. I think the canaries and Mr & Mrs Folke's party are seen using it? What do we know about those?
Hello! First of all I love your question cause I have not thought much about this before.
What we know about the scrolls they use is that they're used to move from deep inside the dungeon back to the surface, and that Holm's sister makes the tools to use it. Here's an extra from Kui's blog talking about it
As it's described there this spell can only be used in closed spaces and the spell is broken if the room stops being closed.
The glossary section of the Adventurer's Bible lists the scrolls as a type of teleportation magic, and makes a distinction between that, Mithrun's teleportation and Falin's teleportation.
All teleportation magic seems to very restricted since they can have disastrous results and the scrolls seem to be extra finicky, Kui has also made a little comic about it
Idk what the gnome is on about, maybe they're saying that cause they want to keep selling the scrolls? But according to what we know if even a bit of you is on the surface you cant be resurrected.
Tansu says both "Let's get ready to cast the return spell" and "It takes some time for the gate to open" in chapter 20
In the house instead of another scroll they come out of a canvas on an easel, I imagine if the room they keep it got opened the magic just wouldn't work and they would have to walk back?
Mithrun just unravels the scroll and casts a spell and it opens, so Tansu might have just been lying about it taking a while for the gate to open so Namari wouldn't feel rushed
In Maizuru's spell she's holding a pen/brush in her mouth so probably the way she casts the spell is also different, could be that the 3 of them use their own flavour of spellcasting to do it (gnomish, elvish, eastern)
On the other side of Maizuru's spell was also a similar scroll painting, on the other side of Mithrun's spell it seemed to have been the exact same type of scroll. By this I imagine you must be able to cast the return spell yourself or have a party member who can cast it, that's probably why Holm's sister sells the "tools" to do the spell instead of a ready to go scroll which somehow I assumed it was.
And that's all I think, I don't think they'd use this spell for long travels on the surface? It might not be possible to do in the surface for some reason or just too risky/not worth the danger, since everytime we've heard about long travels in dungeon meshi they were done by boat or other normal travel means, even the elves just use boats
edit: I'm silly it says right there the scroll turns the room into part of the dungeon, so it is impossible on the surface

#I also imagine teleporting things too far would demand a lot of magic#long post#dungeon meshi#magic system#return spell#scrolls#scroll#dungeon meshi spoilers
