Jimin & Jungkook in 2023 – What Makes Them Special?

We've seen a lot of threads about Jimin and Jungkook lately, talking about their lives, sexualities, personalities, relationships, and everything else.

But let’s be real: no matter your stance, their bond is undeniably special—way deeper than just "friends."

It’s always been unique, but 2023 put them under a microscope (of anties, especially). But even then, they did things that screamed "DIFFERENT", pointing to a much deeper emotional connection—one that stands apart.

Jungkook’s ALL-IN Support for Jimin’s Album

Let’s talk about how Jungkook went out of his way to hype Jimin’s first personal album.

This is different cause … he DIDN’T DO THE SAME for anyone else

NOT visiting anyone else’s rehearsals while being recorded,

NOT reacting to their content in VLives,

NOT jumping onto his live streams, and

NOT publicly congratulating anyone else on Weverse, or commenting his related posts

Not saying he wasn’t supportive of the other members (he totally was), but the energy was different. This wasn’t OT7 vibes; this was “Jimin-first” energy.

The member who has supported Jimin the most in Ch2 is Jungkook…….as well as Jungkook is the member that Jimin has always needed to praise the most…

2. Jungkook openly saying he missed Jimin and wanted to spend time with him. FINALLY!

It’s funny how some antis claim the car conversation proves they weren’t seeing each other, even though we literally saw them together at Yoongi’s concert just two weeks earlier.

Plus, AYS was planned way back in April (or even earlier)!

If anything, that convo actually shows how much Jungkook wanted to spend more time with Jimin doing something different (remember the whole thing started because Jimin mentioned they hadn’t travelled together in ages).

And Jimin knew about it and that’s why maybe he always took some time to drop sweet, loving messages for Jungkook during his VLives.

Jungkook not only expressed this longing with his actions but also directly said it on Weverse, making sure both Jimin and fans understood just how much he missed him. No beating around the bush, no subtle hints—he wanted to spend time with him.

Even if we take the car convo literally and assume they didn’t see each other much early in 2023, here’s what haters ignore: they FIXED it.

Jimin suggested a trip, Jungkook was all in, and they didn’t just go once—they went three times. Jungkook’s “FINALLY” wasn’t random; it was relief.

They made it work, spent the rest of the year together, and BEYOND

3. Choosing to do a travel show together and including a visit to Tokyo

This says a lot about their intentions. At first glance, these trips might seem not relevant compared to “others,” as many would dismiss them as purely work-related. But we all saw that wasn’t the case.

With their solo projects already winning hearts, these trips weren’t needed for promotion. Plus, they could have used that time to record more things on their own, as other members did.

But nah, despite their busy schedules, they took three trips, the best on of their lifes, and planned activities the other would love, and simply made time to be together (FINALLY!☺️) and shared that joy with us.

They even spent private moments in the US, Jeju Island (if we count the night before 😉) and in Tokyo, a meaningful place for them, and spent their last days together before enlisting.

Jungkook did also travel to Busan & Jeju with friends, to Japan with Eunwoo or to skiing with Tae & his friends, especially at the beginning of the year, when he had more free time.

The fact that most of these trips revolved around fun physical activities or enjoying food doesn’t seem like a coincidence—after all, this is Jungkook we’re talking about! 😊

These outings were casual, open, and far from secretive or overly intimate. Jungkook shared bits about them openly.

4. Prioritizing Time Together

Whether it was traveling, working, or just chilling, Jimin and Jungkook made each other a priority in 2023. They could’ve easily done other things, but nah—they chose each other. And they told us.

Okay, this might not sound like a big deal... until you think about when it happened. Like the night before Jeju.

Jungkook was fresh off a third US trip that month and must’ve been EXHAUSTED. There was no reason for them to spend that night together since they were going to be glued the next three days—except for wanting to share a private moment before the trip began, since Tae became a last-minute special guest.

Jungkook cooking for Jimin, making sure he eats well, and knowing all the little things about each other? That was COUPLE energy!

Inside jokes, fave meals, random daily updates—they know it all. Considering the members haven’t lived together since like 2020, it says a lot.

Like Jungkook casually sharing in his last Vlive that he's with Jimin (every day)—they see e/o after his cooking duties or even in the shower (!)—and Jimin constantly showing how important Jungkook is to him.

What some call “name-dropping” is just them being honest about how much they mean to each other.

Stuff like plushies, bathroom selfies, or confirmation because of an fan's artwork pushed by a restaurant’s owner trying to make a buck are just silly theories— Let’s be real… Claims about their sexuality or relationships in 2023, blurry videos, or IG posts by random people are just baseless speculation.

And EVEN if some of the rumors out there did hold some truth, they wouldn’t change, NEVER, Jimin and Jungkook’s obvious REAL LOVE and emotional dependece we can all see —clear and undeniable.

Lets talk about it.

Why Jikook keep showering, washing up at the same time, saying lets brush our teeth together, lets go to bed together? Lets buy matching clothes together (Jk's idea, who's surprised? we saw his concept matched Jimin's). Deciding what, when, how much to eat together? Why do they always turn the camera off & back on washed up at the same time? Doing their morning & nighttime routines together? Compare that to when Tae was with them in Jeju, for days & not once did he join in on their routines with either of them, not Jk or Jimin, nor accommodate their sleep schedules or eating schedules. He went to bed on his own before them, went out did his thing without them, while they did their own thing and only Jikook went to bed together at the same time in jeju. They certainly didn't talk about washing up & showering at the same time with Tae, cause every time it was Jikook saying it & coming out with fresh clothes & hair at the same time. I know y'all close, but why you acting like more? Why you asking permission from the other to have seconds. Giving googly eyes to get your way. Just eat it, why you asking? In NY sleeping in the same tiny bed & same bed time. In CT brushing teeth same time, same bed time, same shower/washing up, waking up for morning cuddles and booty slaps. In Jeju, all of the above, same bed time, same shower time, same bed for a little bit, same wake up cuddles, their suitcases laid out next to each other in front of the shower. Now again in Japan. Same lets wash up, lets brush our teeth together, lets eat, lets go to bed and annoying each other with lights til they go to bed. I think they're perfectly content doing this for the rest of their lives. You're married at this point. Might as well make it official one day lol. Tbf anon, Jikook weren’t going to leave the cameras on while they showered right? They didn’t want us to see “things” and by “things” I don’t mean what you are thinking……wait you know what, maybe I do.

You know all these years, we had heard from jikook themselves and other members how much those two spent time together at nights, eating, during the day, hanging out etc but I think for the first time ever, we get to actually see how it happened.

Like you said anon, not once did we see Tae try to follow their shower and night programs in Jeju as he always showered and went to bed way before Jikook were ready to while jikook always made sure to do these things together. It reminded me of the Vminkook Vlive in 2021 when Jikook found out that Tae had already showered but Jimin said him and Jungkook were yet to shower. Anyone who has been paying attention all these years would clearly see the pattern. This is why Jikook were always said to be together or spending their nights together. They make time to spend with other people doing different things but at the end of the day, they always settled with each other. Let also not forget what that staff said about never seeing Jimin and Jungkook separated from each other backstage.

At least what we know of it.

JM was hospitalized end of January 2022. Not because of covid but because of his appendix, and when in hospital tested positive for covid.

This followed the group going on a break after their 4 concerts in LA in November 2021.

Last time we had all three together was in their live on 28 November 2021. That was a chaotic super happy live. Only bullying I can think of, jokingly, would be Tae constantly mentioning brand names he wasn't supposed to, lol.

Then JK and JM returned to Korea with Jin. Just the three of them. They were supposed to go into quarantine as they returned, separately, as the government rules stated, and yet JK waited for JM at the airport upon their arrival thinking that they will be sharing a car only for the two to be separated.

There is absolutely, and I repeat absolutely NOTHING to show that there was anything wrong between JM and JK at that place and time!!!

JM and JK were fine, and there was no bullying going on from Tae and JK. What AO3 fanfic is that even?

As for the stupidity I've been hearing of since Ep. 3 of Are you sure? JK and V bullying JM, like wtf is wrong with people?

Every time I think people have reached the limit of being the worst they just prove that they can surpass themselves.

I think people lack basic ideas of human interactions if they claim that the playfulness we saw in that episode can be called bullying. If that's bullying then every single time those three played throughout the years would also be. These are 3 young men who grew up together and at times roughhouse. Like men do.

I've kind of lost hope in trying to explain to these people, who love to see JM as a victim, and therefore think they are his knights in shining armour, that JM is a grown ass man who knows exactly how to put both JK and Tae in their places if he wanted to!!! He's got the physical strength to do so, not to mention the personality too. He's known to have done both, when he wanted. And here's the news flash. Maybe he didn't want to! JM knows how to be assertive. Being such a nice human being doesn't make him a weak human being. I think that many of those that claim to love him and want to protect him either don't know him at all or want him to be weak so they can show up as his great protectors against the big bad JK, whom they would love to get rid of, cause he's just not good enough for JM, in their warped reality. Perhaps because they want JM for themselves.

JK is the person that JM loves most in this world.

The person that stood by JM's side and supported him when he was going through the turmoil he was experiencing during the pandemic.

The person that JM wanted to go on these trips with and came up with the idea to create this show so that they can go on these trips together.

The person that he flew from Korea to NY to be with for his solo debut.

The person that he can't stop talking about and bringing up in conversations that have really nothing to do with him, like during the Minimoni album exchange.

The man he chose to write a song for and write these lines to:

The person he chose to enlist with and be with for the 18 months of their military service, even though it meant a more difficult placement, even though it would raise eyebrows and questions marks seeing that the two are the first ever idols, both in their late 20s to do this!!

I've said this once I've said this a thousand times. People need to go live their lives and stop looking for drama where it doesn't exist in JM and JK's life.

They are together.

They are good.

Even if they are idols and public figures.

Even if they are two gorgeous young men who happen to love each other and are, god forbid, in a queer relationship.

Even if being in a queer relationship in their industry and society is frowned upon.

All those don't mean that their relationship isn't just a normal stable long term relationship with everything that such a loving relationship entails, including the struggles.

Enough with trying to insert drama where there is none.

So I am going to list down a few reasonable/plausible reasons of why there are certain discrepancies in the whole jikook narrative which sort of is overlooked or brushed over which sort of discredits the whole thing and, lets try to have a reasonable discussion rather than giving opinions on my(anon's) dumbness or whatever.

the recent bed softness/mattress talk in EPS 5, if they were partners (hell, even as friends/dormmates) and JK has all of them over all the time, seems like a preference that JM, as a partner, should know about. and yes, it was talked in a way that JK was letting him know his preference as a reason; otherwise, I would have said oh, that's too soft/hard.

jms depression talk in 2022 in the docu scenes/ that came out after the concert etc, is jk was not aware of anything his supposed bad mental state, his sleeping schedule, oh but jm's friend knew and helped him and he recognized it but it was all being made aware to jk as a friend and that was when they werent really doing any solo stuff. I mean, it's clear they didn't live together, but this is something that I would have thought jk would know, and don't come at me with the jm hides his thoughts. They all do, I would suppose it would be a bit diff for a SO.

jk asking to bring his stuff to jm in that vlive in morning so its good to assume they dont have stuff at eo's places + in April 2023 jk did not know any of face schedule and seeing it for the first time on a tv, when he was actually quite free through early jan/feb/sort of mar too. In the SMF pt 2 trailer, even Tae knew; suga also knew his schedule, but aside from that, he was even confused about the last day of jm's music show.

literally the first comments jm did on jk's live was followed by jm saying take care or how ar eyou something was clearly seperate and miles away from eo atleast for the past two years. whereas tae and jk were clearly closer with jk saying what are you doing here to tae as in they were doing soemthing before/playing as also confirmed in tae's vlive in feb was it? which was not rude but just continuing convo.

the infamous vlive of jk watching jm's content wasnt because of he missed him like people romantically state but because he was def. not up to date on his band member who is supposedly his couple but was catching up on his content bc he did not know when things were airing or when his schedules were or even talking to eo.

i have more which i do not recall fully at the moment (have sent asks about them in past and each time by each person its answered by a simple no or not possible w/o any reasoning (prob bc yall dont have it yourself) but i will def come back and point out if needed)

so talking about knowiqng eo fav spices which is obv if jk and jm lived in a dorm for 10 years should know about,hell they know taht about suga as well, tae as well etc. is not a very proof of thier relationship infact its all these small unnoticable or brushed over things which show such discrepancies and holes in the whole narrative which should make a person think again and be reasonable. there are a few blogs, not yours (hence why I even came here, but you , akookminsupporter, etc. are a few blogs that are actually reasonable) that pull such weird ass thoughts as if they know what km are thinking; its surprising and concerning. these all points are no compare but to point falacies which appear to exist if they are infact dating. the recent mattress talk is what made me even more aware and why I thought I should try to have a civil discussion about it.

oh and point no. 6 possibly the most glaring one, they did not have any contact (most probably) or any actual attempt to call back and contact for almost a year (or atleast post oct till june?) while jm was working

Man, the drama around Tae's presence in AYS is so funny to me BC most of the takes are nonsensical at best. Did my man thirdwheel? Sadly, yes. Was jk annoyed about someone barging in in his Allotted Exclusive Jimin Time? Well, probably, judging by his reactions, a little bit.

Was any of them rude, or inconsiderate, or whatever vilifying adjective y'all are throwing around this week, for this situation? Absolutely not.

Of course we are all aware of the AYS conversation on how jikook never contacted eachother during Chapter 2 making it obvious they were not a priority to eachother and clearly never romantically engaged. But did you know there were other incidences from their own mouths that debunked jikook that jikookers just did not want to acknowledge?

During a 2020 fansign a fan asked, "Are you and Jungkook dating?"

Jimin responded: "Yah! He’s my dongsaeng, why would you think that?"

Apparently this was reported and acknowledged by many who were there.

In a June 2021 Jungkook said in a Vlive

"Some people make up weird stories. Jimin and I are just close friends."

This is far different than JK's lives waxing poetic about Taehung's looks or saying he didn't know when he'd live with Tae. It's also very different than witnessing Tae celebrating a Taekooker at a fan meet saying Taekook is the best unit.

I have to say.. I’m not sure those instances are correct. I’ve not heard them before and I feel that even if Jkkrs would have tried to bury these things Tkkrs wouldn’t have let them. BTS also didn’t do fansigns during 2020 due to covid.. soooooo.

I think that there’s plenty of things that debunk jkk. For me it’s just not showing in their faces and interactions. They are often kind of indifferent about the other. Not in a ‘I don’t care about you’ way, but in a way where they’re just not really aware of what the other does.. or perhaps that what the other does simply doesn’t concern them. Both Jm and Jk show boundaries when it comes to each other.

I think AYS was very much the biggest debunk. There is no actual way around it unless you make up things like ‘temporary breakups’.. which then again doesn’t show in any of the interactions we saw them have.

To me another obvious one is them enlisting together. There is just no way imo they’d take that risk.

They’re friends. They act like friends. Everything falls within a close friendship.

Taekook has had funny & cute bickering moments that the company has been quick to release because they know that fans generally like to see them. Even for non-Tkkrs, ARMY in general sees Taekook as the funny and cute maknaes in the BTS.

But the reality is that while Jikookers enjoy the content we have, Tkkrs do not seem to... in fact it's quite shocking to see that their episodes together in 2023 don’t get many more views than those that JK has individually

Or even when compared to Jikook... The gimbap Vlive has similar views to the Taekook making carnations for Father’s Day, which makes you think that........ the content generated by the two is not as appealing to their numerous fans as it is to think of an alternate reality where things are different... and that’s why they come up with all the theories and justifications.

Since they don’t get what they want, which is basically the dynamic that Jimin and Jungkook have, they create the desired relationship for Taekook through other means. This includes theories, (fake) couple outings, posts, plushies… in other words, justifications and inventiveness, and a reinterpretation of reality.

It has always been like this. The problem now is that some of the justifications seem to contradict each other, as taekook hanged out in the first few months of 2023 (only those months…. tkkers forget that 2023 had 12 months, the second half being clearly jikook's), putting an end to the "corporate prohibition or hiding" conspiracy theory… but ending the year without any further signs of the alleged deep emotional relationship that some fans claimed Taekook had.

In fact, once again, the deep connection was delivered by the "usual suspects", Jimin and Jungkook, in what is the most private thing they have been able to do in recent years: enlisting together

The contradictions will continue, because in reality, they have never cared too much about seeing their content and therefore, the real relationship Tae and JK have… they are better off in the imaginary, thinking that things are the way they want them to be, and not the way they are.

I'm seeing videos (1, 2) of people who ship Jungkook and Tae screaming like toddlers, crying and yelling while actively ignoring facts that could solve 100% of their problems. This isn't funny or a thing that should be ignored. Tae making a decision to go to a unit of his choice without Jungkook or Jimin is a fact. Jungkook deciding months in advance that he'd do the companion system with Jimin regardless where they'll be placed is a fact. The same people who bragged about the companion system for a year being sure they know what is going on, making fanfics and scenarios about it suddenly act like they don't know what it is and can't read and don't understand the process and how long it takes. .and it hit me that these people don't even care about the enlistment and the members going away or even about the companion system they are just mad that the pair that picked it isn't the one they wanted. And even worse, they react as if they just disovered that Jimin and Jungkook are friends... close friends.. despite a decade of bangtan bombs, vlives, dvd's, GCF's, concerts... It's completely insane and this is why not watching real content and opting to believe only to blatant lies can be so destructive years down the line. How is no ot7 big acc is concered about this? Where are Tae big accs or Jungkook big accs to talk some sense and calm these people down? Seeing in their own eyes the maknae line looking happy with each other means nothing to these people. Hybe announcment they don't like are not real to them. The members own words don't exist. Tae being captured on video with Jennie never happened. Jungkook endless footage of being close to Jimin is somehow made up. I don't know what more can be done and I feel sorry for people who react this strongly because their mental health can't be good but they brought it all on themselves and it's about time they'd be slapped with the reality that Jungkook, Taehyung and Jimin are adults and only they get to decide what to do with their own lives.

Was rewatching Vminkook’s Vlive from 2021 because I was trying to confirm something for an ask I recieved and while watching I saw this part again and wondered if we ever really had this discussion.

The specific part I am talking about is the part where Tae talks about releasing a Christmas song he worked on with Jungkook, Jimin says he doesn’t know anything about it while looking confused as hell..…. but what is really interesting to me is that Jimin doesn’t turn to look at Tae to show any sort of disappointment at the fact that he wasn’t told, instead he turns immediately to Jk and looks at him in a way that reads “how could you not tell me about it”. Jk looks at him too for some seconds seemingly studying his expression before breaking away from the look with a panicked giggle.

So we know that there was never any song meant to be released and Tae and Jk were just bluffing or joking around but Jimin didn’t catch on to that and thought they were being serious so he immediately looked at Jk what looked like disbelief and a disappointment even while raising his eyebrows but he didn’t do that to Tae at all.

This little moment right here says so much about Jikook but i’m sure so many people missed it. You see, Jimin didn’t look like he was disappointed that Tae didn’t tell him and he didn’t look like he had an issue with the fact that Tae didn’t but his problem was that he thought Jk didn’t. This first of all tells us that it doesn’t seem like it is in Jk’s habit to keep stuff from Jimin because if Jk didn’t usually tell Jimin stuff, Jimin wouldn’t have looked so disappointed or in disbelief when he thought Jk didn’t tell him this. Also his reaction suggests that he expected Jk to have told him. This means that Jimin has more expectations of Jungkook that just that of a regular friend because regular friends don’t expect their friends to tell them every about they are up to, so while it didn’t seem like he had those sorts of expectations from Tae, he did have expectations when it came to Jk, hence the look.

This to me was always one of their most telling moments. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they are more than friends but it means that they were close enough to each other to expect being made aware of things like this. (Jk scolding Jimin for not playing him his songs yet. cough, cough)That look said a million things without saying anything at all. I’m sure Jk was imagining himself sleeping on the couch that night😅

This right here is one of the biggest reasons why I don’t believe Jk keeps things from Jimin and from the look of things, Jimin doesn’t expect Jk to keep things from him. I wonder why.
