Tansui's Adventures - #18, Amal'jaa and Roegadyn
Life could never be easy, could it? Tansui was actually starting to miss the cookie-sharing at this point. After the efts - and being almost run over by quite a few of them - he was informed that a shipment of ether had gone missing. On top of that, Amal’jaa blood was requested.
Fun times.
Especially after Tansui made it to the stolen supplies, and started to rummage about after taking a cursory glance around - trying to make sure there were not Amal’jaa about.
Except there was.
A single shout of a low, rumbly voice, full of promises of violence, of fire and pain and hurt and chains. Tansui felt himself freeze, unable to pull the staff out right away as he heard the heavy footsteps rushing towards him.
‘Move. Move. Move. Move.’
A hulking, dark mass was coming towards him, followed by another.
‘Move! Move! Move!’
Finally, Tansuis fingers twitched, hand reaching for the staff - too slow, far too slow, they’d make it to him before the first spell could be cast, and he was here alone, alone, alone-
‘Move dammit! MOVE!’
“Cover your horns kid, it’s about to get loud!”
A foreign female voice snapped him out of the fearful, frozen state - causing him to duck down, arms going over his horns as a loud twing-bang echoed from somewhere behind him. The Amal’jaa were pushed back, and Tansui let out a small sound from the back of their throat - before finally wrapping their hand around the staff, pulling it from its holster.
Aether built around, bringing in a freezing cold - cold that Tansui launched at the first Amal’jaa that had been shot at earlier, pinning them down into the ground, encased into the ice.
Taking a look to the side, there was a Roegadyn right next to him. Tall woman, with a wild grin and a gun. A gun she used to shoot at the other Amal’jaa, laughing all the while as the barrel turned bright red.
Tansui focused once more towards his enemy, blood boiling even as the cold built in his scales - earlier fear turning into searing anger.
Few more Blizzards and shots from somewhere to the left and back, and the two would-be-attacker lizardmen were downed. Tansui let out a silent, soft sigh, standing up and turning towards where the Roegadyn were - about to thank them for stepping in when they did.
Except… they were gone.

Tansui's Adventures - #8, Directions
In a span of three days, Tansui had joined an Adventuring guild, almost got eaten by marmots, got involved in family drama he had no business getting involved with, and had learned to harness a little more of their powers.
That family drama however was a tad too much for them right now - ill-equipped to comfort anyone, not familiar with spell-crafting or aether requirements, not to mention their own powers weren’t quite up to any bigger tasks…
So instead, Tansui turned their attention to the Adventuring guild. See if there was anything he could do to help - only to be sent off right away to the Dispatch Yard for some additional aid. And from there, he was sent to deliver… snacks. He was sent to deliver snacks for three different people.
You know, not the worst possible job, if Tansui had known where all these people were. Thankfully, the little Au’ra had come to learn that it never hurt to ask for some directions from other adventurers if he happened to run into any - like a rather pretty, freckled Duskwight. Who didn’t seem to mind at all that it took a minute for Tansui to write down what he was after - before she pointed out exactly where she had seen a man fitting the description on the little map.
And if Tansui gave one of the extra snacks to her as a thank you, that was his secret to keep.

February prompt for year of the OTP - bedsharing. This is a fun trope and a little different take on it with an established relationship. I'm feral about their love and dynamic, not apologizing. Please enjoy my rarepair.
Fandom: Final Fantasy XIV | Words: 815| Read on Ao3
Tansui x Meryta Khatin (warrior of light) | After endwalker | fluff Rating: Gen. Bedsharing, Tansui having issues containing his feelinds (again), vague endwalker spoilers
Home is where the bed is
There’s something truly wonderful about having Meryta in his bed. Tansui returned late today, and instead of finding him, she had simply decided to crawl into his bed and sleep. Kami knows where she’s been and what she’s been doing, but he’s glad she’s resting. And truly glad it is in his bed.
There is, however, a problem.
Meryta is currently sprawled across his whole bed. Her leg in one direction, her tail in another, the tip of it actually hanging off the bed. Granted, his bed isn’t large, but it’s incredible how such a small person can take up so much space.
She has sprawled across him before – arm over his chest, legs entwined with his, and he likes that. He likes it a lot, to be honest. But with the way she is sleeping right now, he can’t even get into his bed; not without jostling her.
He’s loath to wake her.
There are no words to describe what she has been through lately, and yet there is always something or someone else wanting her help, her power. Tansui sighs. The floor is uncomfortable, and the chair is worse. His home is just a simple one, for a single pirate. They have guesthouses and common areas and barracks and small apartments likes his – not manors.
In the end, his desire to be near her – and to get his own rest – wins out. He carefully maneuvers over her lower body, leaving her tail and torso where it is, trying to fit himself against the wall. He gently pushes her legs out of the way to settle himself, fitting his arm around her. A little push more, and his back won’t be against the cold wall, but actually under the cover –
“… Tansui?”
“Sorry, love. I did not mean to wake you.”
“’s okay. I was just waiting for you.”
She must have been truly tried if she decided to lie down instead of seeking him out, or finding something to tinker with.
“I’m glad you did. I did try to let you sleep, but there’s not much room. Especially for two people.”
“I’ve been thinking of getting an apartment in Shirogane or a small place in the Doman enclave. So I’m close but I don’t have to encroach on your space. And your small bed.”
A surge of panic hits him. He wants her here, in his place. Nearby may be better than the places he knows she likes to dwell, in Mor Dhona or Ishgard or elsewhere, but not by much. Stay with me, he wants to say, let this be your home. Move in with me, I’ll requisition a bigger place, he wants to say. He’s tongue-tied, he doesn’t, he can’t say this. He can’t ask this of her. No matter that the scions are nominally disbanded, she’s an adventurer, disinclined to stay in one place. No matter how weary, he knows something else will draw her. No more ends of the world, hopefully, but there’s always going to be new things on the horizon. He knows and accepts this, nay, he likes it. He has his life, settled and quiet, and she has hers. He has no desire to cage her. He could still ask, of course, for her to make a home here when she does rest, but he does not want to spook her, to make demands.
“You’d end up in my bed anyhow,” he says instead, making a half joke.
It works, she laughs and burrows under the blanket and pulls him close.
“Probably.”
“I could see about a bigger bed.”
“Mmmhmm or I could make one.”
“Of course you could. Have you considered you that are wearing yourself out, between adventuring and refusing to entertain the notion that items can be purchased?”
“I’ll be fine.” She yawns. “I thought pirates didn’t deign to buy things anyhow.”
Tansui chuckles and kisses her gently.
“It’s a passage fee, you know, so we can buy what we need.”
“Such as a bigger bed for your lover.”
“Such as that.” He pulls her close, now that she’s more or less awake. He can’t resist the pull of her, warm in his arms. She comes willingly. “Especially when the lover sprawls more than a drunken roegadyn.”
“Speaking from experience, are you? And it’s only that I feel at home.”
His heart skips a beat, and now he’s sorely tempted to bring up his thoughts. He doesn’t. No matter if he should or not, now is not the time. He simply tightens his arms around her, and wiggles himself into a comfortable position behind her, their legs entwined. They lay together, breaths slowing and deepening. Perhaps the bed is fine as it is.
“I could still make a bigger bed, you know? Lumber may be a scarce here, but between the trees on the northside and the scraps of driftwood…”
“Please, rest now, love.”

𓆩♡𓆪 ✧ Remia's Lore ✧ 𓆩♡𓆪
The former handmaiden of the feared Witch of Doma, known to most in the Far East as the Silver Kitsune, Remia lives out her days in Namai Village researching the ancient city of Mhach to better hone her void magick under the guidance of her two voidsent companions. Despite the public outcry for her to have been executed following Yotsuyu’s death, she’s been employed as Hien’s Arcane Advisor and, unexpectedly, has become a trusted confidant of the young Lord.
Seeing as she's a formidable void mage, it came as little surprise when her sister Ravn, a former Scion, contacted her asking for assistance looking into matters concerning the Thirteenth. At Hien's behest, Remia now begrudgingly accompanies Ravn, Y’shtola, Vrtra, and Estinien on their quest to rescue Azdaja. And to make matters worse, Zero seems to have taken a particular interest in her and her voidsent summons. So much for not being roped into this world-saving nonsense…again.
Below the cut is Remia's entire backstory from her childhood to 6.1 for those curious about her history. Beware, the rabbit hole goes deep into the void so don't click to continue unless you want a wiki page worth of info thrown at you ^^; ♡ by no means is this meant for rp purposes. just here to give a timeline for those wanting to know more about my precious cynical miqo and for me to keep her lore straight
PRE-STORMBLOOD
Two Sisters
Being born with striking ivory hair and a single white eye into a previously influential and wealthy family, Remia was seen as a curse. She was an outcast among the other children in Gridania. The only person to treat her kindly was her sister Ravn. An adventurous soul by nature with a strong moral compass and love for all things mechanical, Ravn protected Remia as best she could—both from the cruel children that would bully her and from their parents who were steadily growing more abusive with every passing week.
Forsaken
As their family wealth began to dwindle thanks to mismanagement of funds and falling victim to countless scams, Remia's parents blamed her for their misfortune. They wanted nothing more than to be rid of both her and Ravn. With the last of their money, their parents ventured across the sea and brought the girls to Kugane where they sold off Remia to a band of corrupt pirates from the Ruby Sea for a hefty price. As for Ravn, she became game for the Viera tribes of the Golmore Jungle. Since the day they were sold, the two sisters wouldn't see one another again until much, much later under very different circumstances.
Ruby Hell
Growing up on the unrelenting tides of the Ruby Sea, Remia quickly became a spectacle to those who believed in the Kami. Many a gullible Doman would pay thousands of gil to simply see her when she was younger. The older she grew, the more crude the requests became. Abused, starved, and treated as nothing more than a pet fox by the vile pirates that kept her captive, she attempted to maim herself in hopes of lowering her value. Turns out a half-blind fox goes for more than she could have ever imagined... So much so that one of her regulars gifted her a rare grimoire rumored to belong to a powerful Mhachi void mage.
Freedom
One fateful evening, the pirate ship she was stowed away on was raided by the Confederacy. Remia refused the help of Tansui and Rasho when they attempted to reach out and offer her a place among their crew. It was common knowledge she was stuck on that ship being exploited and abused for years now so why was it only then they decided to come to her aid..? She didn't trust them. With her grimoire as her sole possession, she fled the Ruby Sea altogether and made for the nearby villages in hopes of finding somewhere to hide.
Unlikely Friendship
Having been raised out in the Ruby Sea, all Remia knew was how to use her looks to get by. It was only expected that she'd once again end up as a courtesan this time working at a proper pleasure house. She was treated better there, but by no means was that an ideal way of living. Though, one good thing did come from working at such an establishment: befriending a girl named Yotsuyu.
Remia and Yotsuyu grew close over their shared loathing and distrust of humanity. Life is brutal and unfair, a fact they were all too familiar with. Only by their own hands could they change their fate, and Remia desperately needed someone she could rely on in this godforsaken world. Where Yotsuyu dreamed of crushing Doma, forcing every last Doman to suffer as she had, Remia simply wanted to survive.
Her memories were beginning to fray and fade. Yotsuyu was the sole person who remained fresh in her mind—even her sister had been all but forgotten by this point. Yotsuyu was kind to her. Protected her. Remia didn't understand why her memories were becoming an unsolvable jigsaw puzzle, but she knew that regardless of how much further her recollection degraded, Yotsuyu would always be there for her. It was them against the world.
STORMBLOOD
An Imperial Upgrade
After Zenos crushed the Doman Resistance and crowned Yotsuyu as the new Imperial viceroy of Doma, Remia too was taken into the Imperial Army as Yotsuyu's handmaiden. A title that in reality meant she was Yotsuyu's personal guard and assassin both. She held no allegiance to the Imperials nor to Zenos for that matter. Her sole loyalty lay with Yotsuyu—though even that wasn't entirely true.
As Yotsuyu's treatment of the Domans grew worse and far too cruel for even her to stomach, Remia found herself slowly being backed into a corner. She would quietly try to dissuade Yotsuyu from ordering her to carry out her most vile punishments. And when that would inevitably fail, she would leave for whichever village had drawn the viceroy's ire and dole out a more lenient punishment than what Yotsuyu had ordered. For as terrible as life had treated her thus far, Remia didn't see the point in inflicting pain on those who were truly innocent, needlessly perpetuating the cycle of hatred.
Beginning of their End
Remia knew in her heart that once word reached her and Yotsuyu that these Scions had come to liberate Doma, their time together was limited. The Warrior of Light herself would herald in a new age full of promise for Doma at the expense of herself and Yotsuyu being cast out into the deepest pit of the seven hells.
Something needed to change. Yotsuyu couldn't be allowed to continue her obsessive crusade, but neither did Remia wish for her to die at the blade of the young Lord who somehow survived the rebellion. And then there was the matter of that strange ashen miqo'te she encountered during her last clash with Yugiri and the Warrior of Light while guarding Zenos. Everything was a mess. Only her grimoire brought her comfort. A grimoire that was slowly beginning to corrupt her.
The Fall from Grace
The siege on Doma Castle was the final nail in the coffin. Remia defended against the Doman Liberation Front for as long as she could. Grynewaht cut down an endless sea of rebels with her by his side until the lower levels of the castle were flooded, forcing them to retreat if only somewhat. Remia eventually left him to delay the Warrior of Light while she ran back up to the keep to find Yotsuyu once it became clear this wasn't going to end well. They needed to escape while they could. There was still time—
When Remia made it to the keep, her desperate pleas for Yotsuyu to flee fell on deaf ears. Yotsuyu revealed to Remia that her true plan all along was to destroy Doma Castle, burying both her and the prince once and for all. She spoke like a mad woman. Remia tried one last time to get her to run away. They could start anew somewhere far away from Doma if only she would just trust her. And then Hien along with the rest of his party barged into the keep. Before Remia could try to fight them off, she found herself pushed over the balcony by none other than Yotsuyu. A final act of kindness to give her the chance to live out a new life assuming she survived the fall.
Before she met the jagged rocks at the base of the sinking castle, a dark portal roiled to life underneath Remia, swallowing her whole.
Dark Patron
Inside the darkness that saved her from certain death, she met a small voidsent imp. Still in shock after the events that just transpired, Remia didn't say a word as the imp proposed an offer: he'd reveal to her the truth behind her memory loss in exchange for helping him find a way home to his darkness-consumed world. He was far too weak to return on his own—forget about surviving if he did manage such a feat—and only by leeching off of her aether could he eventually regain his strength to return. Remia agreed without much thought if only to get this imp to take her back to Yotsuyu.
A Fleeting Reunion
Doma Castle now reduced to rubble, Remia found herself in the heart of the Doman Enclave. The imp held true to his word and brought her back to Yotsuyu, or rather "Tsuyu". Her friend was a shell of her former self. Perhaps she was a more accurate version of the woman she could have become if life hadn't been so cruel. And though Tsuyu had forgotten most everything from before the castle's collapse, there was a flicker of recognition behind her eyes when she saw Remia. A feeling that the strange fox-girl was someone important.
Remia was quick to get over her shock and asked Gosetsu and Hien both if she could stay by Yotsuyu's side. Against the wishes of his people, Hien agreed and spared her life.
Day after day, Remia refused to leave Tsuyu unless absolutely necessary. She ignored her supposed "sister" who continued to pester her in favor of spending as much time with Tsuyu as she could. Gosetsu too was kind to her and her friend despite their bloodied history. Fate had given them a second chance at life, just as she had wished for, and Remia wasn't going to waste it. Memories be damned, so long as Yotsuyu was alive, there was hope for their future—hope that was quickly snuffed out when Asahi came to visit.
Goodbye to our Future
Remia found Yotsuyu just after she had regained her memories and murdered her parents. They fled the enclave together and returned to the Garlean airship where Asahi was waiting for them both. He left the two to their own devices while he set off finalizing the last of the preparations for the prisoner exchange that was to be taking place the next day. Alone in Yotsuyu's personal chamber, the two women reminisced over the years they had spent together late into the night until they eventually fell asleep.
The following morning, Remia woke up alone, the door to Yotsuyu's room locked. Dread pooled in the pit of her stomach while she desperately tried to break free. By the time she finally managed to break out and find Yotsuyu, it was once again too late. She ran into Castrum Fluminis right as Yotsuyu stabbed Asahi with Tsukuyomi's katanas.
In her final moments, Yotsuyu admitted to Remia that she had tried to push her away if only to spare her from the endless darkness she had wanted to plunge Doma into. A futile effort, clearly. She thanked Remia for being her only friend. The only person who saw her for who she truly was and never abandoned or tried to change her.
By the time Gosetsu and Hien returned, Yotsuyu had peacefully passed away in Remia's protective embrace.
Building Trust
Following Yotsuyu's death, Remia's memories degraded at a rapid rate. Even her memories of Yotsuyu were slowly becoming a muddied, jumbled mess in her recollection. At Gosetsu's request, Hien took Remia in. And, as a silent gesture of thanks for how well they treated "Tsuyu", she pledged herself to Hien. Soon after she was put to work as his advisor on all things aether and magick related. Though her memories concerning her life were becoming fewer with every passing day, her knowledge of the arcane remained intact thanks to the imp's intervention. With the imp named Vetis by her side, Remia began her research into her grimoire's origins while aiding in the Doman Enclaves' restoration as per Hien's request.
When Hien and Yugiri left for the Ghimlyt Dark, it was Remia that the young Lord left in charge of his nation's defenses. When they returned and told her that each of the Scions had fallen unconscious, including her sister, it was Remia who Hien asked to be ready to leave and help the Eorzean Alliance should capable warriors be called upon. And when word indeed came from a former adversary asking for assistance in dealing with a restored Allagan machina bound for Eorzea, Remia was the first to answer the call.
SHADOWBRINGERS
Yet Another Voidsent?
The last visit she paid Hien just before she left for Werlyt, Remia was greeted not only by Hien but by a strange womanly angel of sorts claiming to be a voidsent that's been searching for her for thousands of years. Feeling like this was best left to her to handle, Hien excused himself after he explained the situation and bid her a safe journey, leaving Remia to deal with this new "voidsent".
Her name is Gremory, and Vetis does corroborate her claims of being a voidsent—or at least was one. Her aether has been manipulated from being consumed by darkness to somehow being entirely drenched in light. A product of her master's experiments dating back to the Fifth Astral Era, the same era Remia's grimoire is from. After speaking with Gremory for hours, Remia had more questions than answers. This new voidsent believes her to be the reincarnation of her dead master and still somehow houses a portion of his original soul? And Vetis thinks that there's truth to her words? Crazy, the both of them.
An End to Imperial Rule
From beginning to end, Remia and her two voidsent companions stuck with Gaius, Valdeulin, and Severa while she dealt with each of the terrible weapons Valens had at his disposal. An unlikely friendship bloomed between her and Gaius over the course of her grim work. He didn't look at her with contempt nor did he pity her for her past. He understood what it was like to be on the losing side of history, written off as a mere villain deserving of death with no hope of redemption. He was the second person in her life to understand her. She might even venture so far as to call Gaius a friend—though she'd never admit that.
And during the lengthy amounts of time locating the next Weapon, Remia would return to Othard to aid the Bozjan Resistance against the IVth Imperial Legion. Mind you, this wasn't her idea. Once she returned from the First, Ravn had gone to Hien during one of Remia's times away from Doma and asked him personally to convince her reclusive sister to come to Gangos. Remia couldn't remember Ravn, and still to this day can't recall their childhood, but the earnest request for her to join the fight was enough reason for Remia to begrudgingly agree. Together, while the Warrior of Light was handling her own duties on the First concerning Eden, the two sisters took on the whole of the Imperial army and came out victorious.
ENDWALKER
The Ilsabard Contingent
Having spent her time studying void magick under the supervision of not one but two voidsents, Remia was more than happy to oblige when Hien came asking her to be Doma's representative among the Ilsabard Contingent. To say the Scions were skeptical of Hien's choice of trusted confidant would be a sore understatement. Though after Ravn and Aestelle, the Warrior of Light herself, vouched for her, Remia was reluctantly accepted into their ranks. And once the introductions were underway, she and Gremory were forgotten, happily so.
When the Contingent landed in Ilsabard, Remia summoned Gremory to help incapacitate the IIIrd Legion troops led by Vergilia. She didn't hold back now that she finally had a proper battleground to fight on. With so much open space at her disposal, it would have been a terrible injustice not to light the sky aflame with dark magicks utilized by the very voidsent all of Hydaelyn fear. From that moment onwards, those both in and outside of the Contingent knew her as more than just "Yotsuyu's loyal fox" or "Ravn's corrupt sister". Now Remia was a force to be reckoned with in her own right.
The Worth of Mankind
The Final Days began anew and, in all honesty, Remia didn't particularly care for the how and why behind the manmade apocalypse. A scholar asked his familiar to pose a flawed question to civilizations on other planets that in turn led said depressed bird to end all life in existence. The longer she tried to make sense of the insanity, the more hilarious she found the situation to be. It was all so very human. A comfort, really.
Using her void magick to her advantage, Remia teleported between Othard and Sharlayan regularly to deal with the blasphemy threat back home while aiding the Scions when they had need of her talents and fragmented knowledge. She watched with amusement as the Scions ran here and there, desperately trying to forestall the inevitable. They even went so far as to travel to the moon and then to the far edge of the universe! Remia stayed behind to protect Sharlayan, taking in the chaos while slowly coming to appreciate the lengths to which mankind would go to work together when pitted against a common foe. At such a display, it was no wonder she and Yotsuyu were defeated by the Scions. It was just the two of them against the world, after all.
While all of Sharlayan anxiously waited for the Scions to return victorious as they always did, Remia watched the snow gently dance from the pale grey sky seemingly without a care. It was during that quiet moment a familiar face came slowly stalking up the steps leading to the Rostra. Zenos viator Galvus. She could scarcely recall seeing him in Ilsabard and as for their encounters while he was in Doma, those had long since been purged from her memory altogether. But he instantly recognized her. Their conversation was brief, one-sided, and left Remia with a ghost of a smile gracing her feline features. What he said to her, only she knows.
6.1 ONWARDS!
Apocalypse Averted, Now to Save a Dragon
Once the whole "Final Days, the world is ending!" fiasco passed, Remia returned to Doma for what she hoped would be for good this time. The Scions weren't fond of her—and the feelings were mutual when it came to most of them—so the less she had to deal with that group, the better. Besides, there were more than enough monsters skulking about Othard from the Final Days just waiting for her to personally send them back to the lifestream. Finally, she'd have time to hone her magick, perfect her summon of Gremory's battle form, and research the truth behind her memory loss that Vetis had been avoiding.
All of that would have to wait for not even two weeks after the Final Days had come to an end, another letter from Ravn was sent to the Doman Enclave. Now at Hien's behest, Remia is forced to once again join her sister on some impromptu heroic journey to save a dragon imprisoned on the Thirteenth. At least she'll have the chance to better learn her void magick...hopefully.
I know this was a lot and if you read it all, thank you for making it to the end! I hope her backstory was interesting and gave you some insight into the reason behind her chaotic nature ^^

i love hot pirate ladies so much they just awaken something in me. u understand.

► VOICE REFERENCE
Rivienne’s voice, for several years has been referenced back to Eris, voiced by Michelle Pfeiffer.
Her voice pours from her quietly, languidly, it matches the intimate nature of her being. It matters not if she is but a few ilms from your lips, or fulms across the room. It is a low tone, that rises and demands attention when she is ready for combat, a stark contrast to the dulcet tones that falls from her lips. It becomes loud, commanding, and packs a wolfish growl behind her words.

Tansui's Adventures - #9, Allies and Enemies
By the time Tansui had delivered the treats and gotten the news, it was starting to be evening again - and he was more than ready to just curl up by the stairs and sleep. However, Papashan informed the thaumaturge about something alarming…
Someone of importance had gone missing. And the rounds were to find some clues. And now, knowing someone was out there, alone and possibly in danger, how was Tansui supposed to sleep? Answer, they couldn’t. And thus, the new mage set for searching this missing person.
Thankfully, it didn’t take too long - natural curiosity and their ability to attract situations was for once playing in their favour… until, as the roguishly handsome stranger with white hair and quick with so fittingly put it, the dead came out to play.
Tansui hadn’t fought against Voidsent in what felt like years, and yet they’d always remember the stench of one. Thankfully though, they had some help this time - the stranger taking majority of the heat while Tansui could focus on slinging his spells. Magic from both the mage in training and the Voidsent flashed in the night, illuminating the otherwise dark landscape - the steel of the strangers sword glinting at every spell and attack slung.
Even when additional company was brought in, or when the claws came far too close for comfort, or when they were starting to run awfully low on fire-power for a short moment, Tansui felt oddly at ease - knowing someone was there, had his back for however short of a moment, that they weren’t in this alone for once was a comforting thought.
One last Astral Fire was what finally took the Voidsent down, allowing Tansui to take a step back, catch his breath, and let the stranger help with the lady. She was apparently his responsibility, or some sort - Tansui might’ve slipped on his focus roughly there, distracted by a crystal on the ground….

Tansui's Adventures - #7, Sibling Trouble
Thankfully Silver Bazaar had a corner Tansui could sleep in - didn’t even take that much gil out of their pockets for it! Right on the next morning, bright and early, they headed back to Ul’dah - to both report the success, and to figure out who the blond lalafell had been.
Thankfully, the trip was mostly uneventful - all of the drama got saved up until the Thaumaturge’s guild. There, after his report and getting a new robe to wear, he got to hear the story of Cocobusi, the lalafell he had met earlier. How he wanted to be a thaumaturge. How his siblings had promised to train him, but couldn’t because of his own limitations. How Tansui was now pulled into this, as he had accidentally made the siblings break their promise.
Tansui was quick to follow Cocobusi outside, hoping to catch the lalafell and maybe sit next to them, comfort them, apologize for stepping where he didn’t belong.
All they found when they stepped outside however was only very confused viera…

WIP Wedensday
Tagged by @coldshrugs thank you friend <3!!
it's still wednesday here, and I really wanted to work on this today so I'm happy I got a bit FFXIV fanfic to share!
tagging forward to @galadrieljones @myreia @roguelioness @greyyourwarden @sunshinemage @scionshtola @a-shakespearean-in-paris and anyone else who wants to share
Together they make it up from the beach towards the grass and trees. They talk quietly about the Confederacy and the delicate balance of nations around the Ruby Seas, and how the Garleans disturbed it, scorching all in their path. They meander their way past the fishing huts and up in the hills behind. She tells a little of Eorzea and her adventures, but mostly she turns the conversation to the Ruby Seas and the rhythm of the land and sea. Mertya looks up and the stars are familiar, constellations in sky aligned in well-known positions from her childhood. The constellations are the same, but their placements in the sky are different half a world away. They’ve fallen silent now, Tansui follows her gaze up at the heavens. She can’t help looking back at him, her eyes roaming down his neck and his chest, his haori sliding to reveal more of it. There’s a thin line of blood with a bruise blooming around it which she didn’t notice before. It’s likely the nick of sword. “You’re injured,” she murmurs. Unbidden, she reaches for him. She doesn’t have much aether left from all the ordeals today, but perhaps she has enough, reaching for those stars above – “Nothing serious.” Tansui smiles at her, his dark eyes tender in the moonlight. “There’s no need, unless - is that an excuse to touch me?” She places her whole hand on his chest. “Perhaps.” The crisp air stills, and they’re alone, far from everyone else and Tansui’s hands land on her hips. He bends his head as she reaches up, both of them drawn to the spark between them. His lips are chapped, tasting like sea salt and battle.

1. Favorite race? 2. Favorite class/job? 3. Least favorite class/job? 5. Favorite character(s)?
1. Miqo’te, closely followed by Au Ra. The latter lose out because I am not nearly as fond of Raen as I am the Xaela, whilst I like both of the clans of Miqo’te. I used to lean more towards highlanders, but that has slowly shifted. 2. Leatherworker Right now it’s probably red mage. 3. The rest of them really? There’s none of them I like the very least, but I least like less bard and paladin than I do for example dragoon and dark knight. I wouldn’t spend time playing them, really. 5. Favorite OC’s that aren’t mine: Ruran Vas, Sun’ra, Sylve Lowen, Aeron Volkova - They’re all super interesting characters and I can’t stop wanting to know more. They get a special mention today because of THE ADVENTURE. Favorite NPC’s: 2.0: Raubahn, 3.0: Thancred, 4.0: Tansui.

Tansui's Adventures - #26, Tense Feelings
Fufulupa was quick to inform Tansui what the dagger in his hands truly was - and dismissed them just as quickly as they dismissed any notion of taking over the leadership.
Fair, not everyone was ready to take such a role, not when they still had someone they looked up to anywhere near them. It was wordless praise of the highest caliber, and not everyone was ready to accept something like that - be it because they were humble, or because they didn’t trust a single word from anyone's mouth.
Which category Tansui fell in, we do not know - for the second they brought in the dagger for Fufulupa, he was quick to direct Tansui to a new area. Some thaumaturges had been gathering by the nearby ruins, and could use some guards. Seeing they were in his profession, Tansui should’ve felt right at home patrolling the area…
Or so it should’ve been, in theory. However, Tansui felt ill at ease. It was like he was being watched. Something about the area just… crawled right up their spine and tail. And it seemed like others like them sensed it too; there was a Miqo’te guard with a gunblade - Tansui suppressed a shudder at the sight - looking around with a serious look on his face, even when perched and seemingly relaxed.
So when an order came to go to the nearby settlement and make sure there was enough fish for the next meal, Tansui was more than happy to get out of the dodge….

Tansui's Adventures - #16, After Golem
Beat the golem. Check. Save a man who wanted to change the world for the better? Check. See the white-haired lad who Tansui had come to consider an ally? Check. Get another vision and promptly pass out upon seeing him? Also check.
In all fairness it might’ve also been the injuries he had sustained during that fight - partially dislocated shoulder hurt, even when one was accustomed to pain and injuries and high on adrenaline.
So, the moment of not feeling anything but emotions as moments from the white haired man’s past was being delivered - not much, just enough to show he was determined to prove himself to… someone. Louisox? With how many problems Ul’dah had, surely he’d have chances to do so. A clear flirt, too - at least in a tasteful way. Or maybe it had more to do with his looks, with how the ladies swooned.
Ah. Thaumaturges guild was visited too, with that mask on - if only briefly. Tansui really should head back there after all this and-
A groan escaped from the little Au’ra, as the rays of sun got into his eyes. Covering them with the dirtied sleeve, the tiny thaumaturge let out a whine - only to realize they had been laid against a stone to sit against.
“We really need to stop meeting like this,” the familiar voice of the rogue chuckled, close - sounded like he had walked over and bent down. Tansui opened one of their eyes to take a look - only to see the man offering his staff back. Tansui must’ve dropped it… “People will start to talk. Then again, you seem to always be in the middle of the situations I am investigating, so mayhap I should start following you about?”
Tansui took their staff back, letting out a disgruntled sound. Please no.
“Oh? Is my company that unpleasant?”
Tansui narrowed their eyes… and then gently bonked the man on his head with the staff. Ignoring the laughter from the rogue, Tansui took a look around - the workers were banged up, but otherwise alive, and Wystan… Wystan was gone.
“Ah, if you’re wondering about your friend, he had to flee. Unfortunately, Lord Lolorito is not one to leave loose ends… Which means your involvement in dismantling his trap must go unmentioned, just for your own safety,” rogue mentioned, getting up from the crouch - and offering his hand for Tansui to help the mage back up.
“But where are my manners - Thancred Waters, at your service… is what I’d like to say, but I have business elsewhere, so I cannot linger long.”
Tansui patted the dirt off of his shirt while listening, wincing as hand touched on the injured shoulder - something that caught the mans… Thancreds, attention. “Oh, you’re hurt? Here let me-”
Before Thancred could touch Tansui however, the Au’ra caught his hand. Not hard, just to get his attention briefly - before turning it a bit, and wrote with their finger against Thancreds wrist, spelling their name. T-A-N-S-U-I.
“Tansui… your name?”
Tansui nodded in response, giving a bit of a grin. It wasn’t always easy, trying to communicate with people when you couldn’t talk.
“Well, it is a pleasure to formally make your acquaintance. Still, that shoulder needs to be looked at, so if you would hold still just a moment…”
Within the next ten minutes, Tansui’s shoulder was reset, an order to take it easy was placed on him, and a suggestion to go visit Momodi was given.
You know what… it had been far too long since Tansui had left the safety of the city. Maybe it was time to head back in for a bit, just so he could heal from this ordeal….
