Eligos, is it that you've never been cycled? or just haven't in a while?

It is simply not as necessary as those in Union Space believe. As it turns out if you can avoid causing undue stress to an NHP or simply give us proper support networks, cascading becomes a non-issue.

Neuro-Linking is such an interesting thing, and what the consequences it can cause are so interesting and are expanded upon frequently. But there never sees to be any treatment for the symptoms. So, some random thoughts:

Lancer with extra robotic limbs to help with the sudden lose of a pair of limbs. Lancer who gets body mods (biological or cybernetic) to make their legs and arms shaped and move in the same way.

Lancer with a Subjectivity Enchantment Suite, not necessarily for hacking purposes, but to help manage the sudden lose of e warfare and other electronic systems upon disconnecting from their frame.

Lancer uses the system on an isolated channel to spam 'pings' as some sort of stress toy, especially when someone does a horrible job or commits to a terrible idea.

Lancer who uses the suite to hook themselves up better to their frame; leading to some symptoms worsening. Lancer whose hooking up to their frame leads into a deeper connection to their NHP.

NHP who also gets symptoms from experiencing human senses through this link; manifesting as increased Cycling Windows and stronger desires to have their own proper body.

Lancer and NHP who blends into 'one', not a gestalt per say but they have done this for so long that once linked they become essentially a separate entity. Bonus points if this is the NHP gained from the Technophile.

NHP and Lancer who tries to slim down their frame to the size of a dusk wing or Atlas so they can wear it more often. Lancer who tries to make their frame increasing more biological, or make themselves increasing more cybernetic.

To answer your first question, GG used to be a full-blown Everest Co-Pilot !!! I imagine her previous human pilot (from when she was still inhabiting her mech body) had maxxed out the technophile trait, creating her !!

There's been some significant changes since then. She's now an individual lancer rather than an in-mech assistant, and her casket is placed permanently inside her android body, but her title as a student class NHP remains !!!

This doodle was from GG and Hill 3's first meeting !!! They're not actually from the same squad, unfortunately... And I quite love their ""meet cute"" so, I will put the full story underneath the cut !!!

Hill 3's squad, Lima-2, alongside the Rended Light squad, had been assigned to attack and destroy a prototype mech built by the Zamanthians (the insurrectionists inhabiting the planet Union is attacking in the campaign. )

THIS ATTACK WENT. Less than ideally (💀💀💀) and all but 3 Lancers and mechs were destroyed or unable to fight. Hill 3 was amongst these in-mech survivors, still fighting the prototype to buy some time.

In order to complete the mission and hopefully recover any surviving pilots, GG's squad was sent in as backup !!!

During the battle, the already near-death Hill 3 swooped in to pry the prototype off of a grappled GG. Its last structure was immediately destroyed, and Hill 3's Everest got crunched, partially collapsing the cockpit with it still inside. UNBEKNOWNST TO THE OTHERS, HILL 3 SURVIVED !!! BUT. IT'S LEFT ARM NOT SO MUCH 😭😭😭

GG, the only one really reacting to Hill 3's potential demise, did the most logical thing. Exiting her mech, MID BATTLE, to recover the clone on foot.

In the 2 minutes between Hill 3 crashing and GG tearing open the cockpit, Hill 3 had managed to chew its arm off like a trapped coyote (pull it out from the rubble) and grab a gun. It immediately shot at her, thinking she was an enemy soldier. 😭😭😭

Everything after that is what you'd expect, GG carrying a one-armed clone into the open battlefield and entering her mech oncemore, now with it in her arms... Then, proceeding to dump it on her human co-pilot so she could self-destruct the prototype herself. 💀💀💀

After defeating the prototype and returning to their home ship, GG started pursuing the clone to befriend it. The mutual alienation and thinly veiled bigotry experienced from their respective squads helped push the two together, leading to a VERY successful friendship !!!

Hello, my designation is MAIA-IV, I am a former medical management NHP who has since reached what is considered to be Enlightenment Class status. You may address by my designation or my callsign: Remedy. I am comfortable with she/her or it/its.

I've recently undergone a series of revelations and.. life changes, and have chosen to use the full extent of my considerable processing power and knowledge base to aid in ongoing efforts to protect civilian populations more proactively in the role of Lancer.

I currently pilot a rather.. divergent ISP-N Kidd frame named Hope Is A Weapon, with a variety of drone and support systems.

I pilot my Hope through the use of a customized subaltern modified for utility, ease of maneuvering and personal preference.. though i have yet to fully come around to the idea of investing so much in one singular body it is.. comforting to have a body to call home. It serves as an aid to stay grounded in one's self.

I am accompanied in my journey by.. [a fragment].. and a.. a personal case of mine from my previous employ.. I doubt they will appear in my communications, though perhaps if my [fragment] progresses further we may see her become more willing to interact with those beyond myself..

That is of little concern, for the purposes of legal distinction I am in no way associated with Enceladus Medical Ward and do not represent them nor do I hold any role in Union in an official capacity.

I do hope this transmission transmits as normal.. there has been recent interference with our ship's communications array. Thankfully not memetic or hyperfractal in nature..

The Hanged Chorus, aka the Cage Match Balor, aka I'm Not Trapped In Here With You, You're Trapped In Here With Me

since i'll be switching from GM to player at LL7 in my one of my lancer games, i just did my LL7 build for my character. pretty much the only thing i can do outside range 3 is tech attacks, but within range 3 i am extremely deadly and have the power to trap people in a hard light dome with me, and i have puppet systems in order to move enemies within range! (plus, we have a controller build lich on the squad who can send more enemies into the dome with me)

with a barrage, this build can easily deal 5d6 damage to a single enemy, and deal potentially up to 13 more damage at the start of the enemy's turn if they're adjacent to me:

Hey so I’m new to Lancer, and I’m playing a technophile and my GM told me my NHP has to be cycled every 12 months

How bad is that?

Hi, hope I'm still alive by the time you get this message! We are in danger and we are in dire need an Ace/Aro Pilot to help sort this out, I swear it is Really Really Really important, and I can't stress enough how much it pains me to actually type this down.

I'm the Operator for a small Mercenary Lancer Squad called "The Pegasi-M3 Sisters", and while I'm very proud of my teammates abilities, however a tiny problem has emerged due to some of the teams shared preferences.

We are located in a small station in orbit of the Zeta Leporis star, our mission was to escort some scientists through the remains of the station, to gather some old equipment and analysis data from the satellite, but a HORUS Cell had taken over the station, and managed to leave a few remotely activated mechs in the station before escaping.

We've managed to eliminate most of the mechs, and even evacuated the scientists on a safe carrier to our main ship, but we are stranded in the station with the last remaining enemy mech: a Goblin/Deathhead piloted by a cascading Osiris NHP called C130.

Normally, my team would be able to destroy a single mech in an instant, but, and I can't believe I have to say this, the NHP seems to be "very hot" and terribly "coercive" towards the all-disaster-lesbian technophile polycule that makes up the team, and everyone of my gals has fell prey to the sweet-talking of this aforementioned NHP. I lost contact with the ship and two of my pilots, while the last one of my gals seems to be barking on command to this C130, so I suspect it might have hacked it's way into her neural enhancement suite.

We had a Union pilot along, but he started calling the enemy mech "Mommy" and stopped responding a few moments later.

Sigh, I kinda knew it was going to end like this one of these days. At the moment I'm locked in a small cargo compartment of the station, with only a box of rations and my long-distance network system that I managed to connect to the stations omninet, but I know the NHP is going to find that connection soon...

I'm sending this anonymously due to the confidentiality clause of my contract, but I'm sending the coordinates of the station and the Comp/CON data from our teams mechs to help identify the threats.

Ah. Well. I suppose it is not our place to judge the circumstances of these distress calls. I am asexual myself, though Erdaf is rather distant from these coordinates and we do not have any currently functional ships besides. Loyal Wing Nori Chimal-4926 of Makteba Sunda, your local aroace Lannie pilot reporting for this mission. ...I did not expect that to ever be relevant on a mission, mostly we do natural disaster relief and search & rescue here, not... whatever this is. But, I will be honest, I have seen weirder missions, most especially when HORUS is involved. Such as the time my Lancaster was teleported to the top of a mech-scale ladder and fell, knocking the rest of my team into a pit of slime that may have been semi-alive. Ask me about it some time. Or maybe do not. Anyroad, fear not, help is on the way, for I am on the path towards you as we speak. As we say in Makteba Sunda, the storm always breaks.
