Dòrok military concepts. I want to talk about these a little bit, because it's key to understand that while individuals can wear armor, and have more fantasy centered appearances, this is a futuristic setting. Most nations don't have access to technology before the extinction event that caused the world to be the way it is.

The caveat of Dòrok as a nation is that they're forced to be isolationist, because they *do* have access to sophisticated technology. If others knew, they would be conquered by virtue of being a threat to global powers and their technological progress would be erased; hence, isolationism. (They also keep a very low profile on the world stage.) So, with that said, you will absolutely see technological dissonance between Dòrok and the other nations, sometimes even within wealth classes in Dòrok. This concept is already present as oftentimes military regiments tied to the Shussar (monarch) of Dòrok tend to have more sophisticated equipment than the people's regiments. This isn't to say that Dòrok is the super powered laser terminator culture, because they have resourcing issues that prevents them from fully industrializing into a technostate. They may be able to manufacture extremely sophisticated things like their biomechanical soldiers (Saber, Mace, Axe) and amphibious hover vehicles (council warship), but they simply do not have the resources to mass produce those items and have very few of them available.

About my story:

It is the late 2030s. World War Three is coming to a close. America is now a capitalist, military state. Russia has fallen, broken into many conflicting nation states.

(Forgive my butchering of Russia pls) America, now known as The United Technostates, is embroiled in civil war. Private military companies benefit from this conflict, providing services and protection to those who can afford it.

Companies:

Axis Technologies, Ltd. is a global consultancy and security firm. Its headquarters are in New York City. Axis Technologies has operations across multiple continents. Founded in 2026 by former Navy SEAL Evan Salter, the company provides a range of specialized services to clients in both the public and private sectors.

Services:

Asset Protection: Ensuring the security of valuable assets through a combination of physical security, technology, and advanced tracking systems. Strategic Consultancy: Advising clients on navigating operational challenges, with a focus on maintaining security and confidentiality. Project Management: Overseeing complex, long-term projects that require coordination across various disciplines and environments.

Characters:

Bella is a cold, bitter assassin in her late 20’s. She’s known for her contract work with international PMCs (Namely Axis Technologies) and before that, the US army. She’s also well known in certain circles for her clean handiwork and quick turnaround for hit jobs.

Ash Wilson is shy and socially awkward, and very young for someone of such a high rank in his field (he’s in his early 20’s). He is not military per se, but works in US intelligence, translating documents/intel from other countries. His savant-like language skills means he is good at his job and highly sought after for difficult work.

It’s funny the people who most often misattribute the socialist George Orwell’s ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four’ to anything they don’t like.

They use it as a boogeyman for cultural, demographic and social changes. All while they’re the ones trying to change/erase history.

1984 was all about changing/erasing history as a means of control under a totalitarian and fascist technostate.

Frankie Bones Live at TechnoState - May 2018

This is a 108-minute live mix of Frankie Bones playing at Technostate, May 12, 2018, in Downtown, Los Angeles. His set began at 1:00 am the following morning.

I'm not going to attempt to explain Frankie Bones' lengthy history and his influence on the American rave scene. There numerous articles that tell his story better than I could.

Suffice to say, Frankie Bones is one of the most respected and revered techno DJs in America. So when I learned he would be appearing alongside another techno icon from New York– Joey Beltram – I knew this was one night I couldn't miss.

Bones delivered an unrelenting locomotive of beats and breaks. Lots of fresh material as well as a few remixes of classic tracks.

This event was billed as the "last" Technostate. It's hard to believe that after a 20-plus year run, Technostate will come to an end. I have my doubts about the finality of it, but I can't be sure. I suspect Technostate's promoters will continue hosting events in some form or another.

If this night was truly the last Technostate event, then what a lineup to go out with! Frankie Bones has played for Technostate numerous times over the years, going back to 1994. How appropriate it was to end with Frankie Bones presiding over the decks, the "Godfather of PLUR" himself!

Thank you Technostate for the amazing music and memories.
