Thoughts about spike warming - your compromise because Ratchet's always so busy working :,)

You knew that Cybertronians treated interfacing similarly to how humans viewed sex, but it seemed that there was an interesting divide when it came to Cybertronian kinks and human kinks.

You'd been so eager when you first suggested it to Ratchet. "It's the perfect compromise," you'd said, as he squinted suspiciously at you. "What do you think?"

"And you just... sit there...?"

"Yup," You say. "I promise I won't be a distraction."

Ratchet shoots you a look that clearly indicates he thinks otherwise, but he crumbles like a cookie at your eager expression.

"...I guess it wouldn't hurt," He sighs.

Which is how you found yourself on his lap, impaled on his thick spike as he flicked impassively through a stack of data pads. How long had it been? An hour? Hours?

Worst was that he wouldn't even let you touch yourself. "How am I going to finish reading these reports if you keep clenching around me like that, hm?"

“Ratchet,” You whine, and your mouth falls open in a soundless moan when he shifts casually in his chair, biolights nudging deliciously against your sweet spot. Every little movement had you biting back moans - at some point, Ratchet's servos had begun absentmindedly tracing patterns over your trembling body, bringing every nerve to life. "It helps me concentrate," he'd said, not even bothering to hide the smug note in his voice.

You squirm on his spike, desperate for some friction. "You promised not to distract me," Ratchet hums. "Or should I leave you to take care of it yourself?"

"No," You sob. "Ratchet, please."

His large servo comes up to cup the back of your head, gently urging you closer so he can press a kiss to the crown of your head. "Last report."

"You said that like three reports ago - ah!"

You bite your lip and taste blood when the fragger jostles you on his lap - you had been a hair's breadth away from coming right then and there as the biolights of his spike dragged against your hypersensitive walls.

"Ep, ep, ep. Stop that," Ratchet scolds, gently but insistently using his thumb to work your injured lip from between your teeth. Your eyes flutter closed when he pushes his thumb into your mouth, rubbing over your tongue - you moan around the taste of warm metal as you sag against his chassis.

Cracking your eyes open to meet his intense gaze, you swirl your tongue around the pad of his servo and purposefully clench around his spike. Ratchet shudders with a groan, and you soak in the humming vibrations of his plating as he wrests for his last shred of self-control.

"I promise this is the last one," Ratchet says. His voice is rough, optics smouldering with barely restrained hunger.

"Patience is a virtue that will be rewarded."

okay. the orion pax arc. except the defeat of unicron results in megatron losing his memories instead and he's 'reverted' back to himself prewar, aka Megatronus.

Optimus reluctantly brings him to the base.. chaos ensues

do notte ask me how optimus' own memories remains intact .. this is just for the sillies (and double the angst.,,..) though, i am also entertaining an au where they BOTH return to themselves prewar 😭 gah this arc has me in a chokehold, the narrative potential is AMAZING

thoughts on the fiery priest s2 opening weekend (big spoilers ahead !!!)

hae-il is even more unhinged than before and idk if kng trained for this again but the fight choreo is next level esp. the stairway scene at the end of ep 1 and the warehouse battle in ep 2

the whole gang being part of the investigation right away !!!! the white board !!!!! they all got individual introduction but finally a continuing kdrama doesn’t act like people just disappear

gyeong-sun's re-introduction was chef's kiss and so was her entire time in the states i just love how they use lee hanee's comedic timing to perfection … my girl deserves some vacation days

meanwhile sk is still full of greasy prosecutors that jump at the first opportunity to be bought lol (hello seo hyun-woo who stars in all the good dramas this year)

bibi finally getting a different role than her usual type cast i am quite interested to see how it goes with her in the busan police and how she will work together with dae-young from what the premise told us

the fire eel introduction scene sent me into orbit and made me miss cheol-bom greatly … where are our thugs with actual style?

hae-il trying to unlock the phone while the guy was in the ice bath. the way kng played it so sincerely when he asked what the phone combination is was perfect

idk how i feel about the reveal of hae-il’s illness :( considering it’s terminal and he only takes little medication for it (and gyeong-sun and dae-young seem to know?) i hate how things might play out for him. also him pushing himself so hard while his body seems not to show many symptoms rn makes me feel we are gonna see him relapse later in the season

on a happier note seeing how married hae-il and dae-young behave around each other and how everyone knows it is my favourite thing. the mass after dae-young stayed up too late was funny as hell and felt so much like s1. can’t wait to see the whole main trio reunited next week!

they are obviously setting up the young priest as hae-il’s “successor in spirit” / showing someone who is just like him already and who can grow up to be a great priest too and i assume that is also gonna be extra emotional and angsty

kobd: the wildbreak theory

So, let it be known Mercy loves this piece of shit show - only for the Stunticons and specifically Wildbreak 

He’s my favorite character ever, only because every time i see him i go: “omg same” 

HOWEVER, the Wildbreak appreciation post comes later - I got some damning proof this fucker is a KOBD child.

This is fucking long. And only me being obsessed would produce this masteriece.

Buckle up BUCKAROOS- 

So, to begin. 

The famous fan theory in Transformers is that Wildbreak is the love child of Breakdown and Knockout from TFP. 

It’s so popular that everytime you see domestic KOBD art, there’s a good chance a tiny little Wildbreak is in there. 

Usually comes from the fact that TF:RID 2015 is a sequel series to TFP, as well as Wildbreak has an image likened to both of them. He is a Stunticon like Breakdown, but has similarities to Knockout. blah blah, someone already made a shorter post that explains the appearance factor- 

HOWEVER MORE EVIDENCE- I have it. 

Let’s talk about Wildbreak’s Weapon. 

Cutie pie does not get a lot of screen time, in fact, all he gets is five episodes he appears in and one dedicated to him and Dragstrip mainly.

So this episode is all we get of him + Dragstrip + Dragbreak 

In the ep, Dragstrip and Wildbreak stole Windblade’s weapon stash and are being chased down by Bee and the gang. They only get one fight scene and its as Dragbreak [Wildbreak/Dragstrip combined]. 

So when I saw that Dragbreak had a weapon in the form of a HAMMER ON A STICK - I thought huh, sounds too good to be true.

Because isnt it funny that KOBD weapon combo would be a hammer on a stick. 

Let’s assess. aka let mercy ramble at 2am

At first im like, that couldn’t be KO’s weapon [”a shock stick”] cause his is notorious shaped like a “trident” and its extendable.

[lol it has to be the toy model cause TFP’S LIGHTING IS SO DARK I CANT GET A GOOD SCREENSHOT OF IT] 

Until....

I sped it down by 0.25 and i see it transform into this

my ass lifted from the seat AS I WAS LOOKING AT A HAMMER AND A TRIDENT STAFF- THAT IS EXTENDABLE-

AND ITS CONFIRMED TO BE WILDBREAK’S WEAPON BECAUSE

this is Dragstrip’s weapon

its even seen with DRAGBREAK- 

AND NOTHING ABOUT IT CHANGED! IT DIDNT BECOME ANYTHING DIFFERENT or combo with Wildbreaks- ITS JUST DRAGSTRIPS GUN

Which meannnsssss THIS NEVER BEFORE SEEN, HAMMER ON A TRIDENT STAFF HAS TO BE WILDBREAKS. 

I even looked into the older G1 Stunticons for further reference and saw that all Stunticons had guns p much, especially Dragstrip. And I looked at G1 Wildrider and Breakdown since thats where Wildbreak’s namesake came from and...they both have guns. No hammer or staff. Which means- 

The inspo for a Hammer and Staff sounds like it came from ~~

Hello everyone, welcome to half way point where Mercy acknowledges that she’s lost her fucking mind and cant stop the conspiracy theories on her fav character from a show no one watched. 

However I just like to say as a funny side note, that Wildbreak is voiced by Kakashi and Dragstrip is Brain from Pinkie & the Brain. 

Literally looking at the voice cast list for EVERYONE in this show and you’ll realize where the budget actually went. CAUSE IT WASNT TO THE WRITERS-

Even Dragstrip doesnt have any that resemble his gun or retractable hammer.

Currently making a timeline for TFP and its other continuities and it’s been kind of a struggle.

I figured somethings out like how TFRB took place over the course of at least 4-5 years, TFP taking place during at least two of those years. maybe??

What’s bothering me rn is the beginning:

How long was Team Prime on Earth before ep. 1 of TFP??

How long were the Deceptions on Earth?

Did the Rescue Bots arrive to Earth before or after Megatron did?

Where WAS Megatron before he returned?

Who was leading the Decepticons in Megatron’s absence (was it Starscream?? Or did Soundwave tell everyone to wait for Megatron’s command?)

these are the questions that plague my mind currently. If anyone would like to share notes I am all for it!

Other things I figured out was that TFP starts during the 2010s era(I just picked 2010 because it’s the year the show came out)

Also the ages for Jack, Miko, and Raf at the end of TFRB.

A lot of this, i would say, is head cannon stuff just because of the fact we’re given C R U M B S when it comes years, ages etc.. it bugs me.

Now *cracks knuckles* Let’s talk about TFE Bumblebee. (all screenshots are unrelated, just wanted to spice up the post)

First and foremost- BEST VA CHOICE FOR BUMBLEBEE EVER. (With the exclusion of the beeping voice) I usually don’t like Bumblebee voice actors because somehow they’re always wrong. Like there’s always slightly off. But this time I think it was perfect.

Then you have his design- which is sinfully beautiful. He took ‘cute and hot’ put it into a blender and made it a new definition. That definition being ‘TFE Bumblebee’.

He’s a ten but he has cheese knees.

Now I cannot have a good thing without complaining about it, that’s just how I roll..

Him and Arcee? I love their siblings vibe, silly af.

Bee and Breakdown? Gay. Gay af. So gay they don’t even know.

Can we leave the ‘not gonna get stronger characters/characters in charge to help’ prompt in the past? PLEASE?!

If you’ve read my TFP ep notes, you’ll know I find it annoying when they don’t involve Optimus in situations that he needs to be involved with by excusing it as ‘him being busy’.

I hate how often in happens in TFE- especially so when related to Bumblebee.

Like why did he choose not to call Optimus, Megatron, or Elita-One during Family Matters?! Or during episode 17 & 18?! Why did he claim he didn’t have time to caLL FOR HELP AND INSTEAD RECRUITED THE CHILDREN?!

Because no one would help.

Because he’s called Optimus in times of need and he wouldn’t help because he wouldn’t pick up.

That better be it.

I want little Bee boi taking on too much because he doesn’t trust the older bots anymore. Not because of GHOST, but because he doesn’t believe they’ll actually commit.

Also as another person mentioned to me once- It's annoying how when he's absent literally no one cares. Like come on! BE SAD! ACKNOWLEDGE HIS ABSENCE!

I sincerely hope that in the future of this show they give Bee a proper recovery arc and give him a bit of a rescuer complex (Or saviour complex- either way the idea that Bumblebee feels the a desire to help others, that he's responsible for their safety yadda yadda yadda.) Final point, and this is just a general- I hope they give the other bots survivors guilt. I just think that should be thought about. Sorry this took forever to share, I started writing then I never got back to it-

Transformers Earthspark theory - how Knockout could actually be Mr Smelt

....or ideas about it, anyway. Enjoy my observations!

So uhh here's where the neurodivergent urge to consume media and hyperfixate on it has lead me! Please, feast your eyes on my flow chart/ mind map of madness™.

I know the text is really small, if you click and zoom it could be easier to read. I did try to split the original image into quarters, hope that makes it a little easier to read. However, if anyone needs a transcript I'll do my best to sort it out, my only concern is that I have no clue how to link ideas if they're just bullet points (the idea of having a way to link ideas is what lead me to make this in this format :) )

Perhaps a bit of an explanation as to what lead to this?

A few weeks ago, I saw the Earthspark season 1 part 2 trailer and hey... Who's that?? Breakdown?? Of course, I immediately wanted to watch what existed of the series so far, and imagine my pleasant surprise when I heard Knock Out's (tfp) VA voiced a side character!

Anyway, I started watching the series, finished it in 3 days, cried tears of happiness over Nightshade's pronouns (for those of you who say representation doesn't matter, it does. You probably just feel represented), fell in love with Megatron, etc etc. But imagine my absolute, brain-rotting madness when I couldn't find episode 7 on youtube!

Meh, like that would stop my theory brain. Using various episode summaries I found on youtube (first and foremost this one, as it was short and had good attention to detail! But if anyone has any recommendations for other good summaries feel free to let me know), I started to slowly make a mindmap. That evening I found @transformers-earthspark's blog and the where-to-watch resources... Firefly I cannot thank you enough!!! You're literally amazing!! You have no idea how happy I was to find ep 7!! You do so much, give yourself a pat on the back and a nice snack :))

Anyways, armed with my new access to ALL the earthspark episodes (1 - 10, anyway, as only they are available atm), I remade some of my mindmap, added to it, made more points. Over the last few weeks (aka less than two) I polished my mindmap, did some colour-coding, added images, links, details etc until it could apparently fit on an A3 sheet?? What??? So many ideas from silly old me??

Obviously, I don't think I'm completely right. As a matter of fact, I think I made many assumptions and links that were a very big stretch (blame this overactive imagination of mine. I keep thinking of potential plot lines and then forgetting that actually, I made them up and they're not canon). However, I hope I made a few points that will inspire someone to make their own theories, or just have fun thinking!

Apologies if this all sounds garbled or if it's difficult to understand, I am tired and I have two languages running around in my head (that I'm fluent in, I've also tried to learn 5 others. Lingual hell!!!)

Also a quick note and thing to add: I wrote this on Monday the 27th (I draft just about everything in my notes ok), before I woke up on Tuesday and saw the new images from the episodes, including the one with Breakdown!! AHHH!! /pos So I guess I was right about something? And I mean... Breakdown and a theme of racing in one episode? If this is a coincidence and Knockout is not chilling somewhere in the background then I don't know what to say.

Onyl thing I can say for the plot holes is, again, this video.

And on a similar note, the Trivia/YMMV for TFP on TV Tropes.

Beyond that though, I confess MK makes some valid points, though I don't recall Optimus actually hating Skyquake. From what I remember, Skyquake was like Tidal Wave in the "fanatically loyal to Megatron" category, though I'd have to look him up for more info. I never gave him much thought because 1 he was a Decepticon and I've only recently begun redeeming some 'Cons (emphasis on some), and 2 he was basically just introduced to be killed. I still don't understand why so many of these shows insist on introducing a character just to kill them. Pits of Kaon, Smokescreen was originally intended to be in Cliffjumper's place but die in the S1 finale, and while I'm immensely grateful that got vetoed, I'm still left scratching my head at that.

Like introduce them for plot reasons beyond episodic conflict that's resolved in the same ep, good grief.

As for the "alt-modes", that's a matter of money saving. Remember, each episode cost a million dollars to make. Spending excess money on creating new designs pre-Earth v-mode is INSANELY costly. That's why Orion Pax/Optimus Prime's Cybertronian model was left a painted piece, essentially.

I may have to refer you to MK from now on, or at least for the next few days. It's gonna be a bit wild, and after a point I think you two are on the same wavelength.

Well once again I found another plot hole or should I say more plot holes that I recently noticed in "episode 6 of Masters and Students" that Skyquake can't transform, and had to scan a vehicle mode when in reality he has one! When I re-watch the episode I thought it was a temporary side effect of him being in stasis too long, and here's the extra kicker why didn't they introduce Makeshift early? He had Bulkhead's voice and could have easily being disguised into a Vehicon to bring Starscream some news or asking for the next instructions, fox cuss! Megatron even forgot about Makeshift as he didn't mention his death in Rock Bottom among quote 'Starscream's string of failures', Makeshift in the Align Continuity books, he was an expert in infiltration to the point it made Prowl and Ratchet findings realize that it was too late the imposter is in the group, and come to think of it I think Makeshift might have being the medic of the Decepticons long before Knockout and Breakdown showed up, cuss why didn't they introduce Skyquake,Makeshift,Knockout and Breakdown early in the pilot episodes or at least mention them by name to set up their appearance in the next episodes to give a good build-up for the next ones, and need I remind you that Soundwave was inconveniently nowhere to be found? When Starscream was interrogating Fowler, not to mention in the Communication Bridge where he spends most of his time trying to pick up any hints of the Autobot's whereabouts, like where was he when the human trio plus the Autobot trio were on board the ship? Like couldn't at the writers show a scene where Megatron instructed Soundwave to go and locate or awaken Skyquake, at least anything that excuses his absence, we saw him only when Scream gets pounded by Megatron for his failure, while Soundwave is scot-free. Makeshift in Transformers Universe was trusted by Megatron himself to infiltrate the Autobots rank to learn about them, and now he was reduced to nothing in a matter of seconds!!!! Seriously?!.

Those above are for "Con Job", "Darkness Rising from 1 to 5", "Masters and Students".

Same goes for "Loose Cannons", Wheeljack and Dreadwing do have Cybertronian alternate modes.

Also, Ratchet and Bumblebee should have at least said that they knew Makeshift because in the books they did, Bumblebee was there with Jazz when they were interrogating him with Optimus was present, not to mention Ratchet was the one with Prowl to come to the conclusion that they have a plant.

Abd Speaking of Loose Cannons, I do not understand how in the wolf cuss, Dreadwing did not react to his actual brother's killer who is none other than Bumblebee who ripped out his circuits and it was unnecessary for Bee to have him doing that punching a hole is enough but ripping him from the inside out like Bulkhead did to that poor Vehicon is too much!!! Not to mention that Optimus and Soundwave were there at least he could have scowled and yell at Soundwave for not doing anything for his brother as he was just observing, whereas with Optimus he would scowl at him for not only witnessing his brother's death but also calling out on him for how he gave him a dishonorable demise.

Darkness Rising Part Two "The army you have gathered during your three years in space?" - Where the cuss is this army Megatron and Starscream?!

And Vehicons and Insecticons were built up to be stronger than they looked they made short work of Cliffjumper, Arcee, Bumblebee, Wheeljack and Megatron only in episodes later to be gunned down by Energon plasma shots and that's it game over, like really?! And one got knocked out by Smokescreen and apparently played Robot Opossum.

Also, the prophecy of "The Rising Darkness" wasn't foreshadowed enough, like we only learn of it in "One Shall Fall" and the previous episodes had no whiff of a mention of it, they could have at least had Optimus and Ratchet discuss amongst themselves and Optimus asking Agent Fowler to borrow and access an Astrological Telescope 🔭 so that he could observe the planetary movement, possible convergence and their patterns of alignment when can also add that Arcee caught wave of their conversations and kept herself shut only to ask about it later on, on why Optimus keeps going to an observatory with Agent Fowler while Ratchet keeps checking Solar system planets and their movements on his monitor, regularly just as much for possible Energon deposits, I get we got this one detail in "Masters and Students" through Miko's Solar System and Cybertron and it's as small as Bean trying to shoot Fantastic Mr Fox 🦊 to smithereens.

And speaking of "Armada" why the cuss did the Insecticons didn't shoot the ship down with their combined fire power there were a lot of them and they could have gone for the back thrusters in which they could have shut down the Nemesis easily out of the sky, more so than a bunch of bony living dead Predacons that somehow managed to damage the ship and crash it down.

In "Flying Mind" Soundwave should have interjected with Knockout about injecting Dark Energon to the power core of the Vessel because in Fall of Cybertron or War for Cybertron Soundwave initiated the "Nemesis Protocol" in which Trypticon was redesigned to become Megatron's flying ship, he could have reminded Megatron of the possibility of said behemoth to awaken him will lead to retribution only to dismiss his concerns, and for the first time Soundwave is appalled by Megatron not listening to him which could have led to some intriguing conflict between right hand servo and his leader.

Also, in my opinion Starscream had the many opportunities to go back to Cybertron to at least rebuild the weapon system and some cities to make impossible for the Autobots to come back and take it back, and having to rely on Starscream to find a way to break it, while Megatron does the same due to his obsession on killing Optimus as he never had the satisfaction of slaying Sentinel again as he died in prison, that way when the bots do come back to try and find the Omega Lock it gives the heroes a challenge to further highten the stakes, not to mention Starscream was a better leader than Megatron was, because at least he killed Cliffjumper, and almost killed Arcee which is more than he did, Megatron never slain a single bot.

Also I give Smokescreen a gold medal🥇 because at least he wasn't afraid to use and keep an Iacon relic with him which not only saved his life but also helped the bots get an Omega Key and get the Apex Armor, so of course he has a right to brag, the others even had two relics in store before the Apex Armor, Spark Extractor, Omega Keys,Star Saber, Toxic Energon, Resonance Blaster and Phase Shifter came into play, "The Polarity Gauntlet and The Immobiliser" yet they didn't use them, Arcee could have used it in Alpha, Omega which would have saved her from being slain by the Dark Star saber, she could have used said relic to take the key and search for Smokescreen only to be intercepted by Soundwave as he tries to get thing back from her to free Megatron, boom we get a Smokescreen, Arcee and Optimus vs Megatron and Soundwave and Laserbeak(I count him because I have respect for Minicons), but nope at least adapt it in book or comic form!.

Also in "Thirst" how the cuss Soundwave used the Space bridge he can only make Ground Bridges, only Autobot Outsider from Transformers Universe did that and weaponized it to his advantage,because Space Bridges need specific trajectories and structures as mentioned in the show to teleport to certain planets and places it is not an easy feat as ground bridging is.

Also, why the scanners of both Parties didn't detect a single Predacon bone until Season Three, Season 2 could have at least for example say Smokescreen after getting knocked out inside a pyramid, an object fell on him, say a fang or a talon, for some reason he kept it instead of throwing it away and would show it to Ratchet later on just as Optimus showed the skull to the group.

Also, the plan in Rebellion was a total disaster they expected that scattering forces around the glob would work instead of using a more strategic plan by digging underground and create a diversion with Team Wrecker to distract the army at the front, whereas Stealth Team goes for the sneaky approach, Ultra Magnus will go for the generator to disable it and will actually endure the fight against Megatron only to finally lose and they made Starscream look an idiot where said idiot is far more cunning and was able to almost find the Autobot base in a short amount of time more so than Soundwave and Laserbeak ever did, not to mention getting all three keys back thanks to the Red Energon he found.

It doesn't stop there, in "Synthesis" the writers once again treated Starscream like an idiot by having him shoot the wrong base, and he didn't even fought the aerial force and go check to see the remains of his enemies and bring them to his master, with also making him forget that his attack and presence might be detected as the Autobots managed to shield their energy signatures why not the cons as well huh?!

I am really starting to feel like Kowalski from the Penguins of Madagascar!!!!!

Hello!!! Thank you for asking me about Chief Kim!!!! I can go on about it for ages lol. This got a bit long so i’m putting it under a cut

Chief Kim (aka Good Manager) is a comedy office drama with 20 eps, and it aired in 2017. There isn’t a main romance plotline, but don’t let that put you off! It’s an incredible drama in so many ways. (tho there is a subtle romance side plot, but it doesn’t involve the main character and it’s never the main focus, though it is cute). It does feature a bromance that was so great that the two actors literally won an award for it tho lol, so there’s also that!

In a way, the general premise is somewhat similar to Vincenzo in that it’s the main character and an unlikely team of others fighting a big corporation. The comedic tone is also more or less the same. The drama follows Kim Seong Ryong (the titular Chief Kim, played by Namgoong Min), a man with a talent for handling numbers who goes from running a seedy accounting firm to quite accidentally becoming a champion of employees rights in one of the biggest corporations in the country. He originally joins the company with the goal of embezzling a lot money and moving abroad, but he gets swept up in office politics surrounding high executives and the sinister goings on surrounding the position he was recruited for, as well as the shady things the higher-ups want him to do and the suspicion of the other members of his department. Eventually he starts to work alongside them to fight the corruption of the higher ups, and quickly becomes the bane of top management’s existence by being so incredibly annoying that they begin to regret hiring him.

It’s the kind of drama that really gets you to laugh, while still being incredibly heartwarming. The main character is so unashamedly funny, and the character dynamics are all so warm, and none of it ever seems forced. The first tag for the drama on MyDramaList is “character development”, and that says a lot! There’s so much growth that goes on for all the characters, even some of the villains! It’s especially funny because to begin with all the good things Kim Seong Ryeong does are completely by accident, and he’s annoyed but also pleased with all the attention it gets him. Over time he begins to own it, and begins to actively try to stand up to the corrupt people at the top of the company. The other highlight for me besides the humor is definitely the characters. From the eccentric main character, to the no-nonsense second in command in his department Yoon Ha Kyung, to the aggressive finance director Seo Yul who is always eating (one of my all time favourite characters, played by 2PM’s Junho), to the janitor lady who always roasts everyone, there isn’t a single dull character, whether good or bad. And Seo Yul gets one of the best character arcs I’ve ever seen in a kdrama. You get to watch the characters struggle and triumph, and you feel for them because their struggles feel so real, and the drama really gets you invested in them. You see the ways in which they fight to survive as normal working class citizens and you want them to win.

It differs from Vincenzo in that the main character isn’t considered evil and loses his less savoury traits over the course of the drama (his character arc is one of becoming a more upstanding citizen), and the message is one of fighting against corporate greed using the corporate system against itself in order to make things better for the average working citizen. But there’s the same plotting, and the same feeling of rooting for the protagonist team to win as you watch them plot and plan. I never rewatch things, but i’ve rewatched Chief Kim twice already and i’m looking forward to rewatching it again soon (just writing about it is making me want to rewatch it right now lol). It especially hits well for me because i love office dramas, and the humor and the bromance are just right. (Also, not entirely related, but it’s the first drama Kim Seonho was in!)

Another Park Jaebum drama i can definitely recommend is The Fiery Priest! It’s also a comedy action drama with 20 eps (released in 2019), and it follows Kim Hae Il (Kim Nam Gil), a catholic priest with a real temper, as he works to solve the mystery surrounding the death of a senior priest. No romance there either, but it’s got the same humor as Chief Kim and Vincenzo, and the same overarching found family trope (that really shines for this one). It’s darker than Chief Kim, but not as dark as Vincenzo. The plot is very intriguing, and it’s the kind of drama you feel compelled to keep watching to see what happens next. And the host of characters in that drama is still one of my favourites to this day. Every character was incredibly written, and they all played vital roles in the overall story. Again, lots of character development all round, and great character arcs not just for the main character (even for a few of the villains!). Plus it was lovely to watch the various characters interact, get closer, and build relationships. Such an iconic squad. Not to mention how funny it is?? And the fight scenes??? In fact, I enjoyed it so much that when I checked Park Jaebum’s page on MyDramaList after watching it around June last year and saw Vincenzo as an upcoming project, I added it to my plan to watch list immediately even though there was only a single line of synopsis lol. It’s also got an absolute banger of a soundtrack!

When you think about it, all three (Chief Kim, TFP and Vincenzo) can be simplified to “guy with dubious past sets out to fight corruption and creates a great support circle in the process”. All three are dramas of finding people who care about you and are willing to fight alongside you, and fighting for your convictions/what you think is right. Each main character starts out as a somewhat solitary figure, and you get to watch as they each find people who are willing to fight alongside them and support them. What exactly those specific convictions are varies in each drama, but Park Jaebum writes the character development arcs incredibly each time, and the relationships between the characters are so real and so satisfying to watch. And yet the integrity of the main character in each drama is never compromised either, it’s shown that they can grow and become better without losing themselves. The growth is also in the way that they learn to work with and rely on others, because teamwork makes the dream work. And then to cap it all off he lets them have victories, and he makes it SO satisfying??? There are highs and there are lows, and you feel all of those right there with the characters, which makes the victories feel so so good. In each we see the ensemble cast get involved with the fight and the plotting, and we get to see all their epic plans and their execution, and the victories they win that build up over time. And it’s so satisfying to me! I love it a lot, just thinking about it is making me smile lol. It also shows how well humor and darker/more serious plotlines/events are balanced in the dramas, neither is compromised in favour of the other, but it always works so well that the humor never feels forced or out of place. As someone who doesn’t like overbearingly dark shows, I really appreciate that. They all give you lots to laugh at, while not losing any of the plot to the funny.

Of course there are differences, notably the romance, and the fact that Vincenzo is bad vs bad rather than good vs bad like the other two. They deal more with redemption (especially The Fiery Priest), but that works for the stories that are being told, and it’s very well executed.

It’s worth noting that Park Jaebum also wrote Good Doctor and 4 seasons of God’s Quiz. I haven’t checked those out yet, but I’ve heard good things about all of them. He also wrote Blood, I haven’t seen that one either but opinions seem to be split on how good it was. All of those are medical dramas (which is the reason I haven’t watched them lol, i can’t stand medical dramas) from before 2017, when he wrote Chief Kim. It seems he’s been on a roll since then, good for him and good for us lol. You can see everything he’s written on his MyDramaList page.

Overall I enjoyed the Park Jaebum dramas I have seen for first and foremost the comedy, but also for the warmth of the character relationships and for how well developed/written each character is. And I love how he balances the humor with more poignant/darker moments, I laughed a lot watching all three dramas, but I’ve cried over each of them as well. It’s a good balance to have, it gives you a good plot to be interested in, but doesn’t keep you stressed and sombre the whole way through. I’ve seen people say that Vincenzo wouldn’t be as good if it wasn’t so wacky, and I fully agree. It’s the same for both TFP and Chief Kim, and that balance is definitely what I appreciate most in Park Jaebum’s dramas. I know I will laugh, but I also know I will get an incredible plot and incredible characters, and that’s really important for me. Plus I know I can trust that there will be a good ending because the writer cares about his characters.

I definitely recommend checking out both TFP and Chief Kim after Vincenzo is done, especially since they’re so similar in terms of comedic tone and basic plot direction. If you ever get to watching either of them feel free to hmu to chat about it!! There’s lots of plot stuff that can be can discussed.

okay so first off, why is the fandom sleeping on ratchet and wheeljack?

like i know knockout/breakdown is the reigning otp (aside from the mainstays), but they’re so cute??

they’re both so starved for real affection and psh ppl away to avoid getting hurt, and have you seen the way ratchet lights up when wheeljack comes back in s2 finale???

relatedly knockout in general jsut makes me... so sad...

like his boyfriend gets violently murdered and he has zero time to process it or even acknowledge what happened

there’s like a whole thing that happens whenever breakdown gets brought up where it feels like the show expects him to get upset or have some sort of reaction, and usually he just brushes it off like losing his soulmate wasn’t even a big deal rlly

(there’s definitely also the fact that he’s not that good of a decepticon, and any opportunity he would take to acknowledge his feelings would just be perceived as another weakness he can’t afford)

by the third season it feels like he doesn’t have any sense of direction anymore he’s just acting on impulse, no real goals

was not expecting to like ultra magnus as much as i do (or at all rlly)

like he’s such a bitch when he’s introduced i fully expected him to go nowhere and just be a big waste of screen time

03:28 - I’m sad that his energon was so low… but which one belongs to the others? A possible consideration would be that Optimus is the bottom, then Bulkhead’s above Ratchet, then Arcee, then Bee, from their frame sizes and such. Where Bulkhead and Optimus use up more energon due to their larger sizes.

03:56 - that’s so strategically cruel.

04:49 - Oh Damn.. Optimus ain’t playing around (obviously) but he doesn’t use that tone at any other point. It’s so… uncharacteristically in character of that makes sense.

05:08 - way too high risk. Slim odds of reward. Arcee has a bad habit on taking on too much during fieldwork. It’s incredible how she hasn’t been held back more often.

Bee keeps himself tilted away, meaning he still sees Ratchet as a threat.

09:57 - There’s something about the way Optimus reactions (physically) when Bulkhead stops him that’s really interesting. I cannot work out what though.

10:10 - I very seriously doubt that Ratchet chose Bumblebee to stay back as a randomised choice. If he had called him ‘Bee’, maybe, but he didn’t. He said ‘Bumblebee’. It was intentional. Considering that Ratchet’s still very strategic, despite being under influence, he would’ve been more likely to put Arcee on the sidelines (she goes against orders, makes unnecessary risks and is not as good at fighting compared to the others + the others are a bit more durable.). There are a few reasons why he might’ve chosen Bee. Although I want to say that it’s super unlikely, I cannot rule out the idea that a drugged up Ratchet could be a bit ableist, explaining why he’d first remove the disabled bot- but, as I said, highly unlikely. What’s more likely is that he’s putting Bee on the sidelines because he sees him as the weakest after he immediately backed down from a challenge. Then you also have the idea that there’s still apart of Ratchet that would put himself in the face of danger to protect Bee.

10:13 - WHAT DID HE SAY?! THE SYLLABLES RARELY MEAN ANYTHING WHEN IT COMES TO BEE’S DIALOGUE SO THERE’S NO HINTS!

A lot lighter and darker than I remembered it. A very good watch and even if it’s just known for being the drug addiction episode, I’m glad that it’s known.

It’s a very dark topic, but I think it was addressed well. 10/10 would watch in a binge and when being selective about episodes.

Yesterday I watched TFP and sent myself 12 emails with notes about things for my Eurus parentlock thing. The plot of that ep is a disaster but the character interactions and acting are A++. Hope I can bring some of that to my story (and make Eurus a more realistic and fleshed-out character along the way, even if it is ultimately in the service of Johnlock.)

anyway jin and i were watching tfp together (it’s his first time through tbh) and we make too many jokes when we talk together so here’s what i recall four hours later:

we kept making horny jokes about knock out

we watched con job and kept making jokes about how rodi was the only prime who partied

we’ve noted that everyone but like ratchet has v feminine legs

knock out and bumblebee walk really effeminately

everyone keeps clowning on starscream even when he doesn’t deserve it

jin commented on soundwave’s “staple arms” again

we kept making dingus jokes during that episode

we’ve decided that jack is like a literally saltine cracker and v boring. jin forgot his name within like five minutes

knock out and his husband are v good but knock out is a pussy according to jin bc he panicked when op torn off his plating

miko and arcee are the lesbians we deserve

jin really hates the characters with red hair and that’s understandable i guess bc vince and sierra are questionable side characters at best

some (slightly edited) notes from my tfp rewatch (first time watching since it aired)

basically took my liveblogging and expanded upon parts that don’t make sense unless you’re me

‪‪Umbrella sword‬...wasn’t there something about gatiss scoffing at the idea that mycroft’s umbrella was actually a weapon? 

only thing i can find is an unsourced quote from gatiss: “I think it’s his comfort blanket. He may even sleep with it. The umbrella comes from a wonderful old shop in New Oxford St. They still advertise ‘dagger canes’ and ‘sword sticks’ but, to their great regret, are no longer allowed to stock them!” sooo....was this him hinting that it actually was a weapon? either way, it’s ridiculous and OOC 

‪i had it in my head that this first scene was a nightmare, like I remembered it that way - i was convinced i was gonna see mycroft waking up from a bad dream but it turned out that it was...real? that sherlock rigged his house/security to do that? i just...why would they make it seem so nightmarish

When John says “‪221B Baker Street” it feels so weird...J and S always been so recalcitrant about their own fame, to have John talk about their home in that way, almost like an advertisement, feels so strange and OOC

‪“This is family” “That’s why he stays!!!” and John smiles?! Last time I watched T6T I came up with a half-baked theory that John was always cheating on Mary with Sherlock and we just didn’t get to see the beginning of it, and that season 5 will be going back in time and filling in the gaps. Need to make a different post expanding on this but this particular line in TFP does support my theory.

‪‪The way Mycroft explains everything about Eurus is contrary to the way every episode has played out so far - he gives them all the answers right away. Such a red flag for me

Why did Mycroft not get injured in the explosion - I mean, it’s weird that none of them got injured, but we specifically see one of his men saying that he got injured, so...why? 

John answering Mycroft’s earlier question about who originally said “the truth is rarely pure and never simple” - JOHN knew that Oscar Wilde said that, and when he reveals this, Sherlock is shown smiling...WTF! 

‪”Frankly, this is embarrassing.” “Oh. Doing a cavity search?” like...literally why/what the fuck...why does he say this....with this face....

Ok so when John is watching Sister Edgelord’s video as what I presume is an introduction to her personality, she says the bit about good not being really good and evil not being really evil but the next sentence is this: “Bottoms aren’t really pretty and you are a prisoner of your own meat.” 

If this is all actually in John’s mind...interesting. It goes along with the theory that Culverton is John’s nightmare version of himself - a sexual predator type who is enslaved by his own sick desires.

The coffin is John’s coffin, and in John’s nightmare Sherlock doesn’t know that John loves him - Sherlock assumes the coffin is Molly’s, he gets the “who loves you?” question completely wrong. ALSO SLDJKSJSJSD WAIT five years ago, was that before Reichenbach? bc it’s explicitly stated in the show that Moriarty DIDN’T think of Molly, he didn’t endanger her bc he thought Sherlock didn’t care abt her. How does it make sense, if this is reality, that Eurus/Moriarty put Molly in harms’ way or knew that she would be of value to Sherlock? Ok anyway that was a separate point but my original point was that it’s both of their nightmares combined somehow and in the same scene we switch to Sherlock’s nightmare of being forced to tell a woman that he loves her in front of the man he actually loves. FUCK SAAAAKE!‬

‪Maybe...ok if we are in John’s mind, it would make sense that Sherlock saves him from a completely impossible trap that also involved his brother and sister - John has always been scared of Sherlock’s origin/trauma but he believes so strongly that Sherlock is his savior (I was so alone and I owe you so much)‬

‪Are pirates and/or Victor Trevor queer coded? I don’t know I’m just wondering. Either way VT looks exactly like baby John lmaaaaooooooo so subtle

‪Eurus’s explanation about deep water is just a cover for the casuals, like it’s the show trying to tie it all together from Sherlock’s perspective when they’re concealing that we’re really just in John’s mind‬
