Damien Andrew Evans (My OC/MC from the Like Moths to a Flame series)

*I modeled his character off of a young Garrett Hedlund. Here are some photos of Garrett (one with his hair down long - LMtaF Damien - and one with his hair short - BB Damien):

I wrote this in a frenzy last night (referencing my already copious notes from the past… hmm… eleven months??? WHAT), so I apologize if it reads like word-vomit (LMAO). BUT, without further ado, here is my Damien info-dump. Damien is my OC from my series, Like Moths to a Flame, which I started on Wattpad in March 2023. Check it out if you are so inclined (AO3 link because AO3 is better…please don’t hate me, Wattpad police haha).

General Info:

Born and raised in London

Lives in a huge estate in Mayfair

Father’s family comes from old money

Birthday: 13th December 1874

Mother: Mary REDACTED Evans (yes, redacted because it’s a spoiler for Burning Bright)

Died shortly after Damien turned two

Father: Andrew Robert Evans

Magistrate in London

Workaholic, doesn’t interact much with his son, leaves him to his own devices the majority of the time (he is very lucky Damien is a good boy; the shenanigans Damien could have gotten up to if he was so inclined…lmao)

Half-blood (only found this out after he came to Hogwarts; his mother never shared this information with his father)

Only child

Personality:

ENFP (apparently) (thanks Myers-Briggs test!) Fueled by interaction with others (being an only child and spending most of his time alone during the summer holidays deeply damaged him)

Attracted to the same sex (and has known this for as long as he can remember)

Alas, he is super self-conscious about his sexual orientation, having grown up in Muggle London, where being gay is a crime. He is also quite secretive because of it; he wants to open up more to people (it’s in his nature) but is hesitant until he feels he can trust them fully. This can take a while.

Nearly everything he does, he always has this nagging thought in the back of his mind (it follows him literally everywhere): Would my mother be proud of me? (He has never told anyone this; it also haunts him immensely)

Highly intuitive

Very forgiving (arguably to a fault) of anyone he grows to love and trust

Feels very deeply, but, again, he tries his best to hide it. Something must be terribly wrong or extremely upsetting for him to cry in a public setting.

Not very organized (also has a problem with tardiness), EXCEPT when he is at home. He doesn’t want to make a mess for the servants, so he is extremely meticulous and clean when he’s home for the summer. Any other time, he couldn’t care less (LMAO). Physical Description:

Very unique brown eyes with golden flecks in them (Seb is absolutely obsessed)

Taller than average (a little taller than Sebastian, much to Sebastian’s chagrin)

Long blonde hair (just past his shoulders) that he keeps tied back in a low bun (his preferred style)

Sebastian would much rather he wear it down and loose (he is quite vocal about this), but he eventually is like fine…you do you, fam

In Burning Bright, Damien has to cut his hair short so his father isn’t suspicious. He has a cute little tuft at the top of his head that sometimes cascades across his face, which Sebastian is enamored with

(Eton, the all-boys boarding school Damien attended before Hogwarts, has strict uniform and hygiene protocols and would never permit him to wear his hair long; Damien’s father thinks he is still attending Eton so he must keep up appearances)

Lithe but muscular, a testament to how active he is when he arrives at Hogwarts. His go-to when he’s not in classes is to ride his broom around the Scottish Highlands and complete Merlin Trials. He is obsessed with finding and completing them all. (What a Ravenclaw…)

Ample arse though (LMAO) which Sebastian loves… (Seb is an arse-man; you’re welcome HAHAHAHA)

Tan from being outdoors most of the time

Sharp jawline, broad neck and chest, prominent collarbone (he is quite thin), very angular features

Light spoiler for stories post-Burning Bright: Older Damien is a bit heavier in adulthood (and Seb loves this development)

Magic Reveal:

Damien never had one of those “oh shit what just happened???” magical moments, so when Fig showed up on his doorstep with his Hogwarts letter at the very beginning of the summer in 1890, Damien thought it was a joke. When Fig did some magic for him to convince him, Damien lost his goddamn mind. He was thrilled, but also terrified. Fig told him not to worry, that he could stay with him over the summer to prepare Damien for the school year.

Damien’s father was (unsurprisingly) not home when Fig arrived. Damien also asked Fig not to say anything to his father. Fig sensed there was some tension between Damien and his father and agreed (for the time being). Eventually, once Fig got to know Damien better, he decided Damien was right and it was for the best that his father didn’t know about his magic. This was the moment when Damien realized he could fully trust Fig. Surrogate father/son bond activated <3

Their backstory (if Damien’s father asked) for why Damien was gone over the summer was that he was traveling with a friend from Eton. Damien’s father was hella neglectful and didn’t even bother to ask, which to be fair, made things super easy for Damien and Fig (LMAO).

Likes:

The color green

Flying (he loves how freeing it is and the feeling of the wind in his hair)

DADA is his favorite class (his early dueling wins probably played a factor; poor Damien didn’t have a lot of wins in his life prior to coming to Hogwarts, well…besides being rich AF LOL)

CATS (dude adores cats to the EXTREME; he would love to adopt all of the ones he finds wandering around Hogwarts and Hogsmeade; I even have a headcanon that very early on in his time at Hogwarts he smuggles a cat into his room - a room which he shares with Amit, Everett, and Andrew, mind you. Unfortunately, Amit is allergic, so that plan goes to hell in a handbasket rather quickly.)

Magic (obviiiiiii); he still can’t believe his luck that he’s at Hogwarts

The Wizarding World and how accepting it is of all forms of love. He cannot believe his lucky stars that he can be openly affectionate with Sebastian. It even takes him a while to realize this because no one straight up told him and Sebastian at first wants to keep their relationship on the down low since he’s still trying to figure out if Damien feels as strongly about Sebastian as Sebastian feels about Damien. Silly boys #idiotsinlove

Dislikes:

Herbology (he SUCKS at it; Sebastian and Damien have this in common, but Damien is much, much worse. He never uses magical plants in his duels because he is bitter about how bad he is at growing them and doesn’t want to spend money buying them at the Magic Neep hahaha)

Close-minded people (which is why he is understandably upset and confused by Sebastian’s very vocal hatred of goblins; it nearly ends any potential of a relationship from that point forward, but Seb does eventually apologize more than once *PHEW*)

Dark Mongrels, and to a certain extent dogs (le sigh) (light spoiler for Burning Bright so I won’t go into detail about it)

Interactions with Other Characters:

Fig -

Fig was the father Damien always wanted. Supportive, understanding, a wealth of knowledge. Losing him was absolutely devastating; it nearly broke Damien.

Natty -

Besides Sebastian, Damien’s second kindred spirit. When Sebastian and Damien aren’t on good terms for a large swathe of Like Moths to a Flame, they are joined at the hip. Sebastian even worries that they might be a couple at one point and is very jelly. (C’mon Seb, read the freaking room!)

Poppy -

Damien likes Poppy but is a bit intimidated by her. He still really enjoys her company, just in moderation. Ominis -

Damien willfully ignored him before they officially met. He didn’t realize it at the time, but eventually comes to the conclusion that he was jealous that Ominis was best friends with Sebastian. Notably, he easily sensed that Ominis wasn’t into Sebastian romantically, so that was a relief at the very least. Damien was super annoyed by Ominis after the encounter post-Undercroft. He couldn’t understand how someone could lose their temper so easily. Eventually, they do bond… hilariously, it’s Ominis that makes the effort to get to know Damien better. (Of course Ominis knows that Seb and Damien are snogging; he’s ~scary~ perceptive; at first Ominis is just vetting Damien in a protective “I need to make sure you’re a good person for my best friend” kind of way, but then he eventually realizes he enjoys being in Damien’s company. Likewise Damien to Ominis. They eventually also bond over classic music (Ominis lets Damien borrow his gramophone every so often and they sometimes even listen to it together.)

Amit, Everett, and Andrew -

Damien’s roomies! He likes Amit and Everett a lot, but definitely has more in common with Everett since they are both obsessed with flying. Damien even buys Everett a broom so he can stop using a school one. Damien finds Amit a bit awkward, but in an endearing way. He would beat someone up for realsies though if he ever overheard anyone make fun of him.

Andrew and Damien don’t really care about each other either way. Andrew hangs out in different crowds. They don’t talk much.

And yes, I realize that Duncan Hobhouse is also in Ravenclaw, but I've decided he has his own room. Damien finds him annoying, even though Everett is friends with him for some reason lmao.

Sebastian - HOOOO BOY HERE WE GO Damien fell for Sebastian HARD almost immediately after meeting him (their dialogue after the match in DADA was such a turn-on hahaha). He really struggled to play it cool that entire exchange though. He does succeed (sigh), but later… um… goes back to his room and yeah, in my headcanon he furiously does what you would expect lmao.

Sebastian immediately found Damien intriguing BUT he was not sure why. He had always appreciated the beauty of both genders, but he had only ever been with a girl so it never even crossed his mind that he could be romantically interested in Damien. He didn’t realize until <BIG SPOILER FOR LIKE MOTHS TO A FLAME> Damien asked Seb to kiss him in the Undercroft. Once their lips touched, Sebastian had one of those *connect the dots <Charlie from It’s Always Sunny at the blackboard scribbling nonsense> moments* and is like… OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. And then he just rolled with it. Doesn’t question it at all he’s so confident in what happened. Damien is immediately his. MINE MINE MINE seagulls from Finding Nemo gif.

Unfortunately, Dark Magic was a HUGE cockblock (*sad face*) and their budding relationship combusted to the extreme. Damien was devastated but would NEVER admit it so he lost himself in his other friendships (thank you for being there Natty, you QUEEN). As we all know, Sebastian sucks at expressing himself (LMAO say it louder for those in the back), so he avoided Damien like the plague and stewed in his anger. But he is confused and upset and just a turmoil of emotions and it plagues him. A proverbial storm cloud follows him everywhere he goes.

And then all hell breaks loose with the relic (DAMN YOU RELIC), BUT Damien and his strong intuition senses something is up and realizes that Seb is not himself. He activates stealth mode and becomes Seb’s shadow without Seb realizing, following him around and making sure he is okay. After the catacomb ~incident~, Damien won’t let him out of his sight and refuses to permit him to head back to the castle alone. In fact, it scares him so much that once they make it back to the castle, Damien has an OH SHIT I LOVE HIM BUT HE JUST MURDERED SOMEONE moment and he is so lost in his thoughts that Sebastian runs off. This haunts Damien immensely because he is so worried that Sebastian is going to hurt himself. And then, of course, he gets all caught up in the repository / goblin invasion stuff that he is distracted, but he still follows Sebastian around when he can. #sneakyDamien

And I’m not going to go into further detail because massive spoilers for the end of Like Moths to a Flame hahahaha.

William Afton is a businessman with some engineering experience who owns a robotics company- Afton Robotics LLC. He's an asshole and nobody really likes him but he's good at what he does. He's just...unlikeable because he's genuinely unhappy. He doesn't want to be a businessman he wants to be a performer.

In fact, he spent a good chunk of his life wanting to be a performer only to be shot down for being too overweight, too off-putting, too selfish, mean, etc. So he's given up and resigned himself to what he considers a life of mediocrity...

Until he meets Henry Emily.

Henry Emily is aloof, shy, and an actual genius who (to William's annoyance) doesn't use his robotic skills to make money, he just wants to make *things*. Bonding over their shared miseries, required families (Afton has a single son, Henry has a daughter.) Afton sees an opportunity to exploit the inventor...but Henry is kind and shares his work and Afton becomes transported.

Point of fact he becomes obsessed and liquidated a considerable amount of his assets in his own company, barely retaining its name, to found Fazbear Entertainment and open its first franchise, effectively running away to join the circus with Emily.

Henry and he study the building of attractions and characters with William finding a degree of interest in haunted houses and the absolute control you have over an individual in an entertainment setting.

Afton is a conman at heart, a coward shaped by a lack of people praising what few positive qualities he has (if they exist) and the notion of total control, stimulating a mind with labyrinths of sights and smells to entice people to lose their inhibitions and live in a world controlled by single groups of people, fascinated him. He pursues this side of the business while Henry focuses on technology and means of it's advancement.

William Afton has never been *well*. He is however unwell in a way Americans can overlook. He is smart, he can be charming (until you get to know him) and he has money. It is ultimately Henry who creates the monster that Afton becomes thanks to his own hubris.

(AUs presenting Afton as a masochist who enjoys being in Henry's creation are fine. The creator of this theory however, considering canon and Scott's values- I can't conceive of the guy writing a dude who becomes aroused by pain in a kid's series.)

Afton becomes the victim of 'the spring lock incident" that leaves him physically damaged and knocks what few screws he had in place loose. Something happens here.

(Okay so B7-2 talks about remnant creatures in these leaks and a lot of people assume that Andrew and Afton splitting created a 'remnant entity' when I'm pretty sure agony in incident one did it and created Eleanor.)

William isn't stupid when it comes to science. Encountering this remnant creature he wants to study it. However he can't repeat the experiment on himself (coward) and he convinces himself he can't on adults-

(But this man is a scientist he had to have tried at least once and either failed or created something he couldn't conceive of or control...like shadow bonnie and freddy.)

He's a scientist tho. This is key. He's just obsessed with entertainment. He's never been able to do it. So he has to craft a space to put the techniques he learned about manipulating the senses into practice.

A haunted house or themed attraction could be the sort of thing that makes a perfect controlled environment. Humans respond easier to smells then sounds (just ask anyone who's been in a haunted house) so he crafts a gas- a toxin- designed to create fear for him to experiment with.

He finances this by going hat-in-hand and selling the idea of a restaurant to his former partners at Afton Robotics. Stealing and 'improving' on some of Henry's designs he intends to gather the fear and study it further. He builds his lab, designs his robots theoretically to collect more once he discovers what it can do and either kidnaps or has Elizabeth and Garrett.

He does care about his kids the same way any scientist would care about any experiment - important not to kill them off before he learns what he can- but Michael his only confirmed biological kid- ends up killing his brother.

(Michael it can be argued is the only confirmed biological child since when dealing with Old Man Consequences you hear Afton screaming for him to help him in hell.

He's also the only *actual* parallel - to *charlie.* Scott has said he takes the novel trilogy from different points of view. Michael is a 'robot' with ennard in him. Charlie is also a 'robot' with ennard in him. Charlie's a relative non-entity in the games only bringing people to life. Michael Brooks is a relative non-entity who uses Golden Fredsy to communicate in the books.

Afton's experiments don't produce results, they produce further psychosis. So he ends up in a fit of madness causing the MCI looking for more up close results, producing more remnant. Then he gets spring-locked a second time and 'dies' only to be reanimated.

There you have it. My supposition for Afton's motives, his plans for his work, the how, the why.

And it makes me wonder *just how powerful* his nerve gas is and what it'd do to adults because everything is warped in the mind of a child.

(And the obvious is obvious. Fazbear is bringing back his work presumably after acquiring Afton Robotics using his tech to create real immersive environments.)

Anyway. Submitted for the approval of the midnight society and such after a whole lot of manic produced rumination. I can provide documentation if requested, just too tired rn.

'Andrew Scott 's popularity has skyrocketed in recent years, growing by leaps and bounds. Although he was already known for renowned projects such as 1917 or Sherlock , true worldwide fame came with his impeccable role as a priest in the series Fleabag and was enhanced with All Of Us Strangers and, recently, with Ripley . His public appearances are always worth talking about, as the actor is one of the few who really strive to move away from the classic tuxedo and show that men's fashion can go much further . So, in this awards season, it was clear that it was not going to be any different, and there is no occasion when Scott does not surprise us.

This week, at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, she once again opted for a colorful look, thanks to a shirt that undoubtedly screamed spring. In Barbie pink and with a classic silhouette, the garment captured all eyes at the event. The reason? The red carnation made with crystals embroidered on the chest.

You may be familiar with this motif, and if you're a fashion fan, you'll recognize it perfectly. It was the hallmark of Simone Rocha's spring-summer 2025 collection . As the firm is Irish , like Andrew Scott, it is a sign of the actor's support for his country's fashion sector. However, he has not been the only one to show it. We cannot forget the wonderful suit from this collection worn by Paul Mescal on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert or his floral-patterned coat at the 2023 SAG Awards.

The two actors appeared together in the film All of us Strangers and, as they share a friendship and the same nationality, it is likely that they give each other style recommendations. After all, they have both become icons of current fashion.

The shirt chosen by Scott is one of the key timeless pieces of Simone Rocha 's men's collections and costs $820 (approximately €781). It is a piece that perfectly defines the firm, as it is characterized by the symbiosis it creates between romanticism and avant-garde and a balance between the feminine and the masculine. The designer has been considered one of the names to watch since her beginnings and, year after year, her success continues to grow.

Scott paired this special look with basic black pleated trousers and pointed toe leather boots with a bit of a heel. As for accessories, she kept it simple. She only wore a silver pendant that was barely visible under her shirt and Kinney Sun sunglasses by Garrett Leight. Sebastian Stan also wore a pair of sunglasses at the same event.

Hermit Craft Rising AU: Characters & Organizations

In the event that any characters that have names corresponding to a real-life individual, it is a coincidence. No real-life resemblance is intended.

ConCorp Security Consulting, Inc.

CCSC is a PMC (private military company) based in Seattle, Washington founded by Coulson Frasier and Garrett Timothy-Williams Sr. It is dedicated to providing security, peacekeeping, and self-defense protection forces to its clients - mainly the first and third areas.

Solomon “Impulse” Vanderbilt

“It was amazing, that’s why I did it.”

A former criminal defense lawyer moonlighting as a vigilante turned private mercenary for ConCorp Security Consulting with a little too much mental baggage from his days as the former. Solomon underwent voluntary cyborg conversion at a somewhat minimal level during the events of Hermit Craft: Civil War. During the events of Rising, his internal augmentations became more extensive, although outwardly, he remains normal-looking and almost indistinguishable from unaltered humans. Aside from the usual suite of superhuman powers granted by cybernetic enhancements (enhanced speed and agility, senses, strength, durability, endurance, etc.), Solomon can also attack blindingly fast for short periods and can channel short-range electrical arcs over a few meters if given a power source to draw from. These abilities gave him the nickname "Impulse," which subsequently stuck.

Perhaps a little too friendly and easygoing for his own good - although not a passive nor naive individual, as he’s been burned (literally and figuratively) more than once before by his enemies. He tends to get hung up on his past mistakes, especially the "mac-n'-cheese incident." Carries a far nastier alternate persona known as "Eyesore" that re-emerges during the story, although he brings it under control by the time of the Joebraltar Incident.

Signature weapon: A pair of 8-foot collapsible quarterstaves. These are composed of carbon steel, reinforced via ultra-high-frequency resonant vibration modules that counteract the effects of other similar weapons. Later trades the quarterstaves out for a single teal-colored anodized niobium-plated carbon steel blade with improved resonant technology.

Samantha Miller

“What are you doing, love?”

Supervisor and data analyst for CCSC. Brash, endearing, and never one to turn down offering her opinion, Samantha acts as Impulse’s mission control and a (candidly outspoken) voice of reason. Has a tendency to describe things as “gorgeous” whether or not others would actually describe them as such. Almost never seen without her custom pink embroidered CCSC jacket and an iced tea on her desk - she keeps her team in good spirits with her contagious laughter.

Garrett “Scar” Timothy-Williams Sr.

“You all are in cahoots with each other!”

Former CEO of ScarX, Garrett left the company to found CCSC after the events of Turf War along with Coulson Frasier to “solve the world’s problems.” Good-natured with a whimsical streak; very well-endowed financially thanks to his tycoon past. He tends to bite off more than he can chew with his scatterbrained daydreaming, so Coulson often needs to bring him back to reality. While in principle CCSC’s top dog, he often defers to Coulson for matters that don’t require his creative input… which is most of them. Became wheelchair-bound in the last decade due to late onset of an unspecified neuromuscular disease affecting his lower body; he elected not to undergo cyborging operations, believing it “not his destiny.”

Coulson Frasier

“We may never financially recover from this.”

An associate of Garrett from their time at ScarX and co-founder of CCSC, and another member of Impulse’s support team. Easygoing on the surface, extremely dedicated to his work - sometimes to the point where he’ll forget to eat. An everyman to Garrett’s grandiose plans. Fulfills the role of de facto leader of the support team and final decision-maker of CCSC itself, as Garrett is otherwise often occupied running things on the backend. Down-to-earth, and humble despite his accomplishments - which included spearheading some of ScarX’s greatest space projects.

Karl “Doc M” Manfred

“Dude, I don’t like to do anything.”

Known as “Doctor M” or “Doc M” for short, this gentleman is nothing short of a crazy mad scientist - the good kind, mind you. The good Docm is an expert in partial and full-body cyborg conversions, in part thanks to extensive experimentation on himself, including an incident whereupon his remaining organic skin took on a slightly green tint. Retains an unusually high degree of organic material despite his extensive conversions. Loves innovating and tinkering around with new technologies, and was responsible for the invention of key modules in early arcane cyborg integration. A veritable polymath, he has degrees in four different kinds of social sciences and physical sciences - each. Spends a lot of time doing stuff so that he doesn’t have to do stuff. Gruff on the surface, but real fluffy and lovable underneath.

Zachary Dalton*

Dr. Manfred’s somewhat kooky and eccentric assistant, who takes over in the doctor’s stead when he is unavailable. Responsible for many impractical and whimsical gadgets that make their way into CCSC’s arsenal - some more effective than others.

A private space technology company founded by Garrett Timothy-Williams Sr. that develops and tests experimental aircraft for the Canadian government. Their offices are headquartered in Vancouver, but their main base of operations is located on Bell Island, a few hours from St. Johns.

A MooPop employee (specifically, a lower-level manager not privy to secret operations) who Impulse encountered during the raid on the research facility/factory. Somewhat self-critical of himself but quick to make friends. The type of person to light up a room just by being in it - somehow, he always manages to give everyone a good chuckle. He joined CCSC after the raid incident, which resulted in the facility’s destruction and Skye’s partial cyborging due to injuries sustained in the escape. At CCSC, he becomes a vital source of positive morale for Impulse and his team, as well as providing a grounded perspective of sorts.

Joseph Hilbert*

CEO of MooPop, a Swedish multinational food and drink company. Never seen in the course of the story, but is known to be highly eccentric. The Strait of Joebraltar is not named for him and is totally not a convenient hook-in for story purposes.

Hermit Craft

These unmanned mobile weapons platforms are so-called because of the earliest models’ tendency to be encased in transport shells of varying design. This drastic variation in transport shells called to mind the myriad types of shelters that hermit crabs adopt for protection, leaving their identity undisclosed until the very last moment. These days, the shells aren’t used due to an increasing size trend amongst these war machines; they possess varying levels of potency, but all carry copious amounts of firepower.

HC CAPRICORN

A quadruped, unmanned Hermit Craft that somewhat outwardly resembles a goat due to the sensor “horns” and overall caprine-like body plan. Armed with cluster missiles, short-range anti-personnel blinding lasers, Gatling guns, and rocket bombs. Unnervingly nimble, it also conducts ramming attacks with the sensor horns - which are also its weak spot when they get stuck in something. Capable of aquatic traversal, although not encountered in such a situation during the story of Rising. The original design was the brainchild of Dr. Manfred before he shelved it, thinking its design was unviable - it never went past the blueprint stage, and a scaled-down version at that. Somehow, these plans made their way to Sahara, who more than finished the job…

HC OCTAGON

A gigantic, octopodal octagon-shaped weapons platform developed by Architech Worldwide that far outscales any other Hermit Craft. Equipped with a lightning-storm generator, feet with gigantic retractable blades, and railgun cannons. Designed to completely bulldoze and level densely packed buildings (such as industrial complexes or urban zones,) OCTAGON was created with the express purpose of countering other Hermit Craft in combat by any means necessary short of a thermobaric nuclear bomb. Initially designed as an unmanned HC, the final iteration required a pilot. Capable of tunneling, but rather slow at doing so.

Sahara Enforcement, LLC (The Terraformers)

An Ontario, Canada-based PMC led by the Terraformers, a group of infamous (mostly) cyborg mercenaries who work for Architech Worldwide under the table. They provide services to corporations on the “black market,” so to speak, as well as other shady and unscrupulous organizations. Most, if not all under their employ are morally questionable, if not also mentally so.

William “Ramapo” Knox

“You’re very close. In my bubble.”

Knox is the heavy hitter of the Terraformers. In his civilian life, he was a paralegal, but he enlisted during the Civil War - which ended up being a very transformative decision. Having lost his legs below the thighs due to an anti-personnel landmine, this war veteran is able to hook into a custom gigantic mech frame wielding an oversized bident, although he retains the ability to use standard-issue prosthetic legs. Formerly friendly, gregarious and approachable, the trauma induced from the accident turned him into a loner, stoic and depressive. Strangely, being in a constant state of violent conflict seems to be the only thing that satisfies him nowadays, hence his affiliation with Sahara. Now a man of few words, he lets the steel do the talking. He really likes his personal space. His codename is named after a fault line that runs through the eastern United States, including New Jersey, where he lived right before the Civil War.

Hometown: Mineral Point, Wisconsin, USA

Signature weapon: HK-55 Mk. 7 “Hell’s Knight” exo-frame: A 5-meter, slightly weathered and rusted black, red, and gold mech that bears a suspicious resemblance to the NACHTREIHER/E from Armored Core VI, Knox’s body is attached in a cockpit located where the head might be on the mech’s torso. Wields a massive, similarly-colored rocket bident-lance made of unknown material that again, bears a suspicious resemblance to Varatha, the Eternal Spear from Hades - albeit with a jagged, lightning motif. This bident can be charged for devastating electrical attacks and launched like a missile.

Zoe “Moine” Carter (she/they)

“I’ll break your legs.”

Nanotechnologist, TV show host, and bodybuilder by day and professional assassin by night, Zoe was recruited by Sahara as a cornerstone to their operations. They have a dry sense of humor and wry sarcasm, punctuated by a very matter-of-fact demeanor. Their vitiligo condition has led to some comparing their appearance to that of a reanimated corpse, a description that they have taken and run with. They are often at odds with the other Terraformers, but as dysfunctional as this team is, they are their de facto leader and keep them in line. Zoe has no cyborg enhancements themselves, surprisingly enough - it's all in the gadgets. Their code name comes from the Moine Thrust Belt in northern Scotland.

On their “real” job, Zoe conducts themselves as a bit of a showperson, right down to wearing a three-piece suit in all but the most paramount of combat situations. The other Terraformers don’t quite understand this tendency, but they know better than to question Zoe’s effectiveness.

Age: Late 40s

Hometown: Ipswich, UK

Signature weapon: A small army of “Dioramic” biomorphic serpentine drones, each about a meter in length and coming in all sorts of different colors (though Zoe tends to surround themselves with green-eyed, orange ones). Each can be equipped with a variety of arcane nanotech-based tools, only limited by Zoe’s imagination, sometimes to degrees that would make Inspector Gadget proud. Two or three Dioramics can form into an extended polearm, functioning as either a bladed weapon or a long-range projectile weapon, or both, depending on the specialization of the Dioramics. Up to half a dozen individual Dioramics can also attach to a pack that Zoe wears to form extra manipulative limbs.

Dioramics have somewhat complex artificial intelligence, comparable to that of a dolphin. Provided they go long enough without a memory wipe (which is always, because Zoe never bothered to make use of that feature), Dioramics may develop unique personalities.

More often than not, one or two of Zoe’s favorite Dioramics can be spotted carrying around a stage microphone stand, complete with a microphone, as they slither after her. This microphone stand is a standard one, lacking any special properties; despite that, Zoe often uses it as part of her “routine,” which typically entails breaking it in the process.

Grant “Glen” Collins

“You see, I’ve got this weird brain condition called stupidity…”

With more than a few screws loose, this British biologist turned mercenary sows chaos wherever he goes. One of the founders of Architech Worldwide with Oliver Bancroft and Iyod Samuelsson, rumors are that an unfortunate accident involving an industrial potato sorting machine (the details of which are unspecified, but rumors persist he pushed a button he shouldn’t have) made him a double amputee from the thighs down. Other rumors suggest he underwent the operation to become a cyborg voluntarily. Either way, he used the company’s funds to provide himself with lightweight cyborg legs with localized electromagnetic field generators, enabling him to disconnect them at will and control them independently of his body with great finesse, augmenting his already quick reflexes to superhuman levels. (His arms, though, remain entirely organic.)

This local control of electromagnetism actually extends to being able to manipulate and levitate objects around him, both nonmagnetic and magnetic, although it puts a massive drain on his energy reserves if he manipulates anything other than his body and darts. A winged propulsion pack he wears on his torso allows his main body a high degree of maneuverability equivalent to that of his limbs, making him a menace in the air.

Seemingly unhinged, thrill-seeking and what some might call a gremlin, Grant never turns down an opportunity to show off his flying and combat prowess. He often rushes in without taking time to ponder things, but beneath that adrenaline rush is a sharp, decisive, and calculatingly clever wit - it's very difficult to catch this adaptable Terraformer off guard, for he quite literally thinks on the fly (and in flight.) He arguably would also be the most likable of them - that is, if he wasn't working for the wrong side and if his priorities were better placed. His code name originates from a fault line in northern Scotland.

Age: 36

Hometown: Bexley, UK

Signature weapon: A set of (at least) ten “Parakeet” iridescent spearhead-shaped “darts” that are magento-telekinetically controlled. The overall shape is that of a throwing dart, but the tip somewhat resembles a bird’s beak. The tail, however, is notched like that of an arrow and has tiny wings resembling that of a scarlet macaw’s. Made of an extremely dense, unspecified material - CCSC suspects it to be a kind of tungsten carbide or depleted uranium core. At the speeds at which he wields them, they can easily pierce lightly-armored vehicles and are quite the anti-personnel deterrent.

Tango “Hurricane” Travis

“Hahahaha, flee with extra flee!”

A former LARPer whose (ambiguous) ambitions became a reality when he had installed into his body cyborg augmentations, including hard-light projection implants that allow him to shrug off most small arms and physical attacks easily. He calls himself the “Dungeon Master.” Extremely animated but also prone to making funny noises. It’s not always clear why he’s in charge of the Terraformers, to begin with, but in battle, it becomes pretty evident the “crazy man” persona is less of a facade and just who he is: not out for (just) the money, but for the thrill of it all.

Despite his ferocity, he is strangely oblivious to things that are right in front of him (both figuratively and literally) and easily distracted. This isn’t helped by the fact that he has another odd tendency: wearing bunny slippers in public, even in combat. Rumors swirl among Sahara personnel that he has an entire closet of them back at base, because they keep wearing out after every mission. His code name comes from a large fault line that runs through the southwestern USA, including into Arizona.

Age: Late 40s (est. 47-49)

Hometown: Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Signature weapon: Elongated “Deepfrost” high-frequency steel machetes with miniaturized LN2 cooling systems (“Freezificators”) that keep them at -80 degrees Celsius. This low temperature freezes most objects on contact, making them more susceptible to being shattered into bits when the two blades are combined into a pincer-blade setup.

“Scarlet” Pearl Maynard

“Something wicked this way comes…”

A skilled Australian swordswoman with an ornate prosthetic arm (she was born without a right arm and has what is actually more or less a shoulder stump), she only contracts with Sahara because she’s short on work otherwise. She doesn’t entirely agree with their M.O. but begrudgingly goes along with it despite the moral conflict. Coming from a long line of martial arts fighters, outside of combat she likes to paint, and would be a patron of the arts if she were more financially stable. Has an unusual obsession with pickles. Despite appearances, she is not entirely mentally stable - many a field report have noted she enters a feral, witchlike state when sufficiently provoked, especially emotionally. Her codename is unique, not being named after a tectonic feature like the rest of the Terraformers - instead, it was named after her aforementioned alter ego, “Scarlet.” This replaced her original codename - “Darling.”

Age: 34

Hometown: Newcastle, Australia

Signature weapon: Double-ended “HF Lifeline” glaive that can split and convert into a pair of war scythes. Damascus steel-like blades are further enhanced by ultra-high-frequency resonant vibration modules that dramatically increase their cutting ability.

RD-82g, the "Cyberdog"

“Greetings, warmbloods. I’m off to sharpen my bones now.”

RD-82g, later known as the Cyberdog, is a quadrupedal, canine-like autonomous robot with a highly advanced, nearly free-thinking AI only restrained by the programming locks of Sahara. During its trial phase, it developed an unusual flair for dramatic theatrics and frequent philosophical tendencies but remained no less lethal in its intended purpose as a hyper-intelligent combat prototype. Despite repeated testing, it proved to lack much desire for actual combat with living beings despite its potential for such: instead of hurling rocket grenades, it preferred to hurl insults and exchange dramatically aggressive banter with its targets, much to Travis’s chagrin. He re-assigned it to the other Terraformers instead, who mistreated the Cyberdog with threats of memory wipes and activation of receptors that simulated pain (the latter of which did not actually exist in its systems.)

In the events of Rising, Impulse encountered it in the breakaway state of Perimeter and defeated it in combat. Finding its vocalizations amusing, though, he salvaged what was left of the Cyberdog and had ConCorp release its programming locks. After its acquisition and being rebuilt by ConCorp, it finally had the chance to exercise true free will and banter without fear of repercussions, although much of what it theatrically vocalizes remains vaguely threatening despite its intentions.

Age: 3 (since construction)

Hometown: N/A, but constructed at an undisclosed facility in Canada

Signature weapon: A retractable whip-pickaxe made of classified material, prominently showcasing a shimmering resonant blade. Reports have noted that it can split a semitrailer clean in two.

Architech Worldwide, Inc.

A (nominally) private military company founded by Grant Collins, Oliver Bancroft, and Iyod Samuelsson, and the largest in the world - with offices or facilities in 35 countries. It is the de facto government of the city of St. John’s (in this universe, a city roughly 6-7 times larger in population than it is in real life) due to the civil government being stripped of its power by MP Taylor Gemma and the police forces of the city being subcontracted out to Architech Worldwide. They are a leader in arcane cyborging technology and also possess a near-monopoly on the supply of said technology. Strangely, they also have a substantial presence in the canned soup industry, sand mining industry, and an extensive online retail marketplace specializing in consumer electronics.

Taylor “Gemstrong” Gemma

“How am I supposed to ‘live, laugh, love’ in these conditions?”

MP in the House of Commons for Newfoundland & Labrador and a candidate for the PM election of 2022. She was the benefactor for Architech Worldwide and its de facto CEO. Under the table, she was also allied with the Terraformers of Sahara Enforcement, LLC. Motivated by avarice (specifically, for soup and arcane power) more than anything, even over political power.

Sarcastic and witty, her outwardly bubbly, cordial, and peppy nature is often underestimated by her opponents - notwithstanding belying her inscrutable soup-obsessed agenda. Despite her relatively young age, She is a well-trained and more than proficient combatant, imbued with macro-organic enhancements that increase her strength and durability to superhuman levels.

Age: 41

Hometown: St. Johns, NL, Canada

Signature weapon: Macroorganics. The name is a misnomer - it is arcane nanotechnology with an organic basis. Aside from incredible regenerative abilities, it grants her the ability to reconfigure portions (if not the whole) of her body into extremely dense organic “supermaterials.” For instance, she is known to prefer an inexplicably tough wooden bark-textured medium that a regular HF blade cannot penetrate, supplanted by inhumanly rapid counter-growth and regeneration effects that repel incoming serrations. Aside from partial to full-body regeneration (via pulling matter from her surroundings and reconfiguring it on the atomic level via nanotechnology,) inherent to her nanotechnology are also super-strength (enough strength to hurl a 650-ton fully-loaded cargo jet with ease over a few hundred feet) and the aforementioned extreme durability.

Oliver “Mumble” Bancroft*

Iyod Samuelsson*

The co-founders of Architech Worldwide, along with Grant Collins. Not much is disclosed about them over the course of the story as they went missing years ago.

What is known: Oliver got his nickname from his constant muttering about things not being “quite simple, really” whenever this nervous wreck of a man was faced with a befuddling situation. Back when Garrett was posting content from the renaissance faire on his story, i went to his friend that he was reposting’s page and then looked at all the tagged people’s pages as well to see if they posted Garrett and Andrew content bc i wanted to see their cute ren faire outfits and i came across a picture on a profile (go to Garrett’s following tab and search Jack.d and it’ll be the only page to come up) and there’s a group picture and she’s the one next to Andrew. I’ve seen people say her name before and that’s the girl tagged. Obviously they could just be friends but I’m pretty certain that’s his gf

WEEK 1 STANDINGS:

Johnny 💲 Oliver

The narrowest win/loss margin of week 1

Kirk Cousins was the 3rd highest scoring QB of week 1 (Oliver)

Calvin Ridley was just outside the top 10 WRs in fantasy scoring in week 1. This is due to the surprise Jets punt return to end week 1, a return man squeaked in the ranks because of return yards scoring. (Johnny)

Despite a pretty good rookie debut, Bijon ended up outside the top 10 RBs for scoring (but top 15) -Johnny

Taysom Hill play by Johnny did not net much (only .40 points) but as bad as this was, another matchup had a worst TE scoring letdown.

Gano scored negative points which almost closed the gap enough for Oliver to close in. Thankfully Lamb did enough to offset.

The matchup ended on Sunday night as both Johnny and Oliver had no MNF players.

Watson did decent but barely. Olivers play of Cousins outscored in that category. Not only that, his bench QB (Russell) also outscored Watson smh. Good thing Johhny DIDN'T play Danny Dimes...he scored a measly 8 points in his season debut clobbering of Giants VS Cowboys on SNF. It was so bad, Johnnys bench RB Cam Akers even outscored him *shame*

In a curious move, Oliver benched Hopkins. He ended up scoring 2 more points than Godwin in his slot but he STILL would have lost by 1 point. With Andrews out, Oliver played kmet. No matter who he played, it would have been an excruciating close loss.

Jacobs in the Flex, Barkley in RB slot, & Godwin in the WR spot all scored just 8 points for Oliver. In this case, 8 ain't great.

Both Owners were winners in the CORE 4 last year. Oliver won in ILL-FL 🏆 while Johnny won in this very cash league 💸

Jermaine 💵 Demetri

Jermaine had both Ekeler AND Breece‼️This resulted in the Yahoo Cash League Commish to have 2 of the top 5 RB scorers of week 1 on his team 👀 (Ekeler 2nd & Breece 4th top RB scoring placement)

Combined, Breece & Ekeler scored about 68 points total just in Jermaines RB starting slots.

In an ironic twist, Diggs was the 7th highest scorer in fantasy points behind a WR (returner Gibson of the Jets) who's top score propelled the Jets in a overtime win despite Rodgers being out - for the year. The twist....Garrett was not even in the top 20 in fantasy scoring with A-Rod out of the game. That in itself may have cost Demetri the win. If only he had the hindsight to pick up a 5th string WR (I kid 😆)

Demetri had the lowest scoring squad of week 1

Among the many week 1 wonkyness, Patrick Mahomes finished below his projected points AND just outside the top 10 of QB scorers (11th). Rookie Richardson and Russell actually scored more. This didn't effect Jermaines winning outcome.

Per graph, the only lead Demetri had was the early Sunday games (for a brief time) until Jermaines team took off.

In summary, the Demetri loss could have been a win if not for the unfortunate Rodgers injury. Reaching and banking on the hype train, that costly tackle had ripple effects not only with the Jets - but the whole division and fantasy players as well.

Double jeopardy for Demetri... Dobbins also OUT FOR THE SEASON just exacerbated the doom n gloom of week 1 yuckiness.

Speaking of RBs, Demetri had Hunter Henry TE on his bench scoring 14. That's double Engrams output and almost the same amount of his 2 rbs combined (Dobbins 10/ Najee 4.9).

Demetri is currently in last place in week 1, but his brother (a new Comer to this league and thankful last minute replacement) has taken the exact opposite rank.

Taurean 💸 Laura

Lady Laura (as dubbed by T) barely wins against Taurean. We know this as you read in the recap pic below, her kicker Tyler Bass made it on her top player comparison smh. Then again, every position/every point counts. Kickers do put the 🦶 in 🏉 (Laura)

Taurean had the highest scoring player on either side of the contest. Trevor scored 34 pts which Laura's starting RBs and WRs had to combine to even match his sole score‼️So how da hell did she win⁉️ (Taurean)

Drake London had only one target all game. Are the falcons just that run heavy? Did the game dictate the offense? Are the Falcons hiding Desmond Ridder from the masses as a bust? Time will tell. But this left T with a big fat zero on his starting WR slot. This was just the beginning of the end. (Taurean)

Although Laura had to have both WRs combine totals for a double digit score, Taurean did have AJ Brown go past 10 (11.80 to be exact). Names like London, Cooper, Brown, and Deebo should not have scored this under projections. Could be just the slow start to the season. Typically the Defenses have the advantage early in the season while offense (new ones especially) take time to gel and sync thier timing.

Taurean had good performances from his RBs Pollard and Stevenson. Ironically it would be Pollards former teammate Zeek who would take some snaps (and thus potential points) from Ramandre, capping his output. What a twist. (Taurean)

Taureans Flex & TE had a combined score of 10 - the same as his kicker BUT the defense score couldn't match at a disappointing 9.5 points.

Laura's TE / Flex combo faired worst but she made up huge with the last minute save from her Jets defense (and special teams especially). The return yards or scores can play huge dividends. It was the deciding factor that propelled her to victory. (Laura)

At the end, it was huge outcomes like Trevor Lawrence that kept T in play but the big outcome at the end (Laura's Jets Def) that put the game away.

Delmar 💰 Omar

First and foremost, Delmar had Burrow who only threw for 82 yards total for the game. Needless to say, he was at a deficit from the start. I'm surprised he managed 10 points.

Making matter worst, Delmar had Higgins who scored a whopping 0 points 😔

To add salt to Delmars wounds, Swift scored him under a full point. At this juncture, Delmar, as the early afternoon games went on, Omar pulled away.

Even if Delmar played his higher scoring bench players (Zay Flowers & Goff), he still would have lost by a considerable margin.

What can we say about Omar's team? Tyreek Hill. He almost single handedly won the matchup for him 🤯

Even with Delmar playing all his highest scoring players...he would be about 25-35 points in deficit.

A cool note: Omar's Herbert AND Stafford (on his bench) scored 37 almost to the percentile.

Omar led the entire time in this matchup starting with AmonRa on TNF opener...he never looked back.

Delmar did have Aiyuk who went off. Normally his stat line (139 yards and 2 TDs) would be the top scoring WR. Was still good for 3rd behind Shaheed from the Saints (because of his 116 return yards... 👀 the reoccurring theme here?). Of course Tyreek was the top WR in fantasy and 2nd player overall behind his QB Tua.

Carla 🤑 Slick

Both Slick & Carla played top tier QBs in Hurts and Allen respectively. Both QBs produced but not to expectations/projected points. Regardless, each QB scored almost identical points (26).

Carla's Dionte ended up hurt resulting in only 6pts. Thankfully for her, Slicks WRs both had 6pts themselves. He other play of Jefferson more than made up the difference.

Even when you take into account the Flex plays by each, Sutton (while serviceable) was behind the rookie Addison in points. The 1st yr Addison ended up with a TD making Carla's lead that much more significant.

Yes folks you read that correctly, Carla has both Addison and Jefferson.

Let's also include Hockenson to boot, Carla's Viking stack strategy might be the hidden strategy to success. *Play the skol horn*

For Slick, Chase came up short big time but the RB sensation Bijan seems to be a great pick up. Sporting 2 rookies, Gibbs scored only half of his counterpart Bijan in his debut.

Rickys team simply underwhelmed mostly from a group perspective.

Slick too was dealt with the dreaded goose egg from Goedert which added onto his troubles.

Slick failed to even cross the 3 digit (100) mark for his total team score.

Weird note: Sam Howell (rookie for Commanders) on Ricky's bench ended up scoring more fantasy points than Allen & Hurts.

Carla had this won with Travis E who amassed over 100 scrimmage yards netting her a nice 20 point box score.

Papakess 🪙 New Guy

We finally got to meet PapaKess at the draft over Slick & Julia's crib. Definitely a tough opponent.

Jermaine secured a final 12th place player. That player is none other than Demetrius brother. Anthony is already is already making his mark.

While Anthony is in first place already, his brother a longstanding competitor Demetri is in last place. Oh the irony 😱

This specific matchup was the biggest beat down of week 1.

Papakess lost despite having the top fantasy scorer of any position. Tua had nearly 62 points. Tua alone made up nearly 45% of Shawn's total roster points.

Papakess RBs both gained decent points scoring over 40 points combined between Chubb & Henry. Unfortunately, the WRs had the other side of the spectrum with only 5 points combined 😕 (Lockett & Cooks)

Anthony's RBs outpaced Shawn's because.... CMC AND Aaron Jones sheesh‼️This combo alone scored 79 points.

Anthony's WRs both came thru huge as Olave and Devonte. In fact, his whole squad did. Aside the kicker, his whole team scored double digit plus. Kittle was the lone exception.

Anthony's Dallas Defense shutting out the Gmen net his team 55 points alone. With the top scoring defense of week 1 vs the top scoring QB/fantasy player overall, this is an unexpected outcome.
